Daphne
Contrary to popular belief, being an internationally acclaimed rock star wasn’t all glitz and glamour.

Time was not a luxury in my life when every second of every day was accounted for. I even had to watch my friends’ lives from afar. And everywhere I turned, people seemed to want things from me.

One more autograph.
One more interview.
One more tour date.

Now, I had a stalker who seemed to want something much more me. All to themselves.

Ezra
When I started my job as Daphne DeVille’s new head of security, I was expecting a nightmare. I mean, I already had an eight-year-old daughter at home. The last thing I needed was to be a babysitter for a spoiled brat who had fired half of her crew in the middle of a tour.

And then I met her, and she was the complete opposite of everything I sweet, down-to-earth, and even a little shy. In an industry dominated by fake, she was refreshingly real.

Daphne was a job. Just another person I was supposed to protect. But, as I fought to keep her safe from a faceless terror, the line between personal and professional quickly started to blur.

How was I supposed to keep her at arm’s length when what I really wanted to do was just keep her in my arms?

Carmen Richter is an old soul. Her words are like theater, masterfully spun to bring all the feels, interspersed with music that makes your heart soar. She needs her coffee to make the words flow, and some of her best writing is done in a caffeine-induced haze at one in the morning with a soundtrack that ranges from jazz standards to rock to show tunes and everything in between. When she's not writing, she loves going to live concerts and especially live theater, or just staying in and binging Criminal Minds or Law and Order: SVU for the zillionth time.

Carmen lives in Kansas City with her boyfriend, Brett, and their two fur babies, a bunny named Marty and a cat named Mal. In addition to writing, she also has two branches of a business that aims to provide quality services to independent authors at a reasonable price. CPR Editing deals with everything inside your book: editing, proofreading, and interior formatting. CPR Designs deals with, well, design: logos and branding, social media graphics, covers, and teasers.

Carmen loves interacting with her fans and will happily respond to all messages personally until she gets uber famous and gets a ton of them. Hey, a girl can dream, right?

Heated romance, a love for music and a crime worth killing for. If these are things you like in your books the Carmen Richter’s won’t disappoint.

Falling Angel is a standalone story which is part of a multi-author series. It’s available via Kindle Unlimited.

Daphne is our leading lady and the centre of a dangerous world. She loves her music but someone is stalking her. When a few freak accidents raise suspicion, Daphne makes the hard decision to hire new staff. Ezra is her new head of security. He’s dedicated to keeping her safe. When their chemistry becomes heated all eyes turn to them. Can Daphne have it all? A man, a family, a career and her life?

This is told from duel point of view and a little extra. Both chapters have an interesting backstory and the romance/ suspense plays out well.

This is an incredible stand-alone story with amazing characters, sweet and sexy scenes, a plot twist you don’t see coming and a relationship that starts with friendship and becomes so much more.
Falling Angel is a rockstar romance with a side of mystery and drama that will leave you wanting more.
Daphne is a world star famous singer that has a problem, that has been escalating to the point she needs outside help. Along comes single dad Ezra who has an adorable daughter name Arielle, he becomes Daphne’s head of security and her instant protector.
The electricity between them is explosive and their attraction hard to fight.
Daphne is so much more of what Ezra was expecting. She is sweet, loyal and has a heart of gold. Unfortunately for them , Daphne’s life is in danger and the threat very close to them, risking their relationship and a future they might have.
Definitely a must read , you don’t want to miss how this story unfolds.

Ok, let’s start with a PSA:
Do not think you will get any adulting done while reading this book because once you start this story drags you under and it’s impossible to put down! Before you know it it’s midnight (and you KNOW you should go to bed) but you just can’t just shut your kindle down when you are halfway through this book...you will stay up until 3 AM because ish is getting real and you HAVE to know what’s going to happen next!
Shew...Now that that’s over...
I’m not crying, you’re crying!
No, seriously, I’m totally crying but omg y’all, this book got all up in my feels so many times I just couldn’t handle it. After reading Shattered Pieces I already knew that Daphne was pretty awesome but I totally wasn’t ready to fall all over myself with how sweet she was and even though she was a super awesome rockstar she had vulnerabilities and self doubt. I loved seeing both sides of her because it made her real. Then you have Ezra and his adorable daughter, I’m a sucker for a single dad and he was a pretty amazing one, plus he was sweet and hot!! Finally, the suspense was killer! Everything was a slow build but at the same time felt like you were being hit with a tsunami. I was toast! Oh and I absolutely adored Taylor, Alex and the rest of Daphne’s tribe from Shattered Pieces so the fact that they were there throughout the story was amazing. Ugh, I just loved this book so much, I didn’t want it to end!

I was lucky to receive an ARC of Falling Angel and this is my honest review.

Daphne is a rockstar that’s followed by a lot of fans. Occasionally she receives letters or gifts from them.
But then she starts getting them from an obsess fan, she needs someone who can protect her.

Ezra don’t want to be babysitting a spoil rockstar, he rather be with his 8 year old daughter, but Ezra knows he needs to provide for her and give her the best he can even it that means not seeing his baby for months at a time.

Can she trust Ezra with her heart or does he want something from her?

Could Ezra trust that Daphne won’t break not only his heart but his daughters’ too?

Daphne as new security but, would Ezra and his team be enough to keep her safe?

Carmen gave us an amazing story.
You can feel all the love between the characters. Not only Ezra and his daughter and his sisters’ but between Daphnes’ closest friends.

Your in for a surprise *insert surprise face*

I went into this book with no expectations. This story was great! I loved both Ezra and Daphne. Daphne's support system of friends were amazing, and their text message scenes cracked me up. I feel that Carmen really showed depth between the Daph and her "family." Ezra's love for his daughter made me swoon. The story pacing kept me riveted, and caused me to ignore chores, kids and my spouse. I loved the subject matter, even if it may be a bit too dark for others (Stalking). Without spoiling the ending, I will say, this book had my full attention, made me laugh, cringe, gasp and growl - all signs of a great story. I want more of Ezra and Daphne.

I received an Advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is a new author to me, and i can't say enough about this book. It captured my attention from the first chapter to the bonus epilogue. Daphne was definitely not your typical Rock Star, and Ezra was not your typical security detail. What started out with a friendship grew into so much more. The stalker had me thinking from the first few chapters, there were a few ppl i suspected, so it definitely wasn't predictable. I can't wait to read more from this author, great writing style, great story line!

Daphne and Ezra have incredible chemistry from the get go. Ezra thinks he knows what his job is, and he makes assumptions. Ha, well those assumptions slap him in the face when he catches all the FEELS. This story has it all. Great plot, witty characters, suspenseful moments, you won’t want to put it dow.

Daphne was the furthest thing from how the media portrayed her that once Ezra saw that he was screwed.

If you love rock stars romance, with humor and a dash of mystery read this baby.

Must read

This was such a great story about a down to earth rockstar who needs security from a crazed stalker, and the single dad who ends up being her head of security. Daphne is in real danger and Ezra does everything in his power to keep her safe. It was an awesome story where 2 people fall in love over time & wasn’t an instant love.

Falling Angel By Carmen Richter is a contemporary romance novel in the Eagle Security series. I have read a few of Carmen Richter‘s books and they are filled with so much emotion and they take you on a wonderful romantic journey. It almost feels like you are there with the characters.

Daphne is a rock star that needs protecting from an obsessed fan or person that won’t leave her alone. Ezra is the man who is hired to protect her. This novel is their love story. Ok there is more to it than that, there is a mystery and obsessed fan but it’s their love story!

This book is just so good if you enjoy suspenseful contemporary romance. Carmen Richter truly is a great author. Definitely check this book out.

Well Ms Richter outdid herself on this one! I knew she was talented, this book shines. So dramatic, climatic and hard to put down. The three main characters, Daphne, Ezra and his young daughter Arielle are so fantastic and loveable. The story is non stop blissful, scarey and a tremendous storyline. The back up parties, Daph's tribe are unforgettable as well. I don't suggest you read the ending and have things to do unless you have tissues. This is a real problem for many people, not just celebrities, not all end happily. Be prepared for triggers. I'd love for the stories to continue.

Sort of boring, goes on for too long, drags, gives you zero forbidden feels or angst, shoves down your throat that the heroine is oh so good and oh so holy and oh so humble and oh my god when does this book end!!!!
But it’s strangely addicting and there are some good moments here and there, enough to keep you intrigued (even though it’s extremely predictable) and to feel something, enough not to dnf it. There are at least some really sweet and sexy moments that save this book from being a failure.
Not sure if i would recommend... but if you’re feeling like reading some famous superstar falls in love with normal person kinda trope, then yeah sure, give this a go.

This is great stand-alone story with awesome characters. Daphne is a Rock Sta that’s followed by a lot of fans. She receives letters and/or gifts from her fans a lot them. Then she starts to receive weird gifts and letters from an obsessed. Weird things start happening. Daphne decides she needs someone who protect her. She hires Ezra to protect her which means that Ezra would be away from his daughter for months. Ezra was not to thrilled to be as he put it" babysit a spoiled Rock Star" but, he needs to provide for his 8 year old daughter. As the weird gifts and letters start to get more frightening Daphine was worried that Ezra and his team wouldn't be enough to protect her. Ezra does manage to get some extra help to protect Daphine. Daphne has a great group of amazing support system of friends who were there for her. Daphne and Ezra seem to have had chemistry from the beginning but, neither were ready to admit it to each other. Daphne surprised Ezra when he saw how well Arielle took to Daphne. I wasn't to surprised when they found out who was sending the weird gifts and letters to Daphne. I loved how things started to go the way Daphne and Ezra went when they both finally admitted how they felt about each other. I truly loved this book. This is a must read book!!

Okay. So. There were things I liked about this book but there were a lot of things I didn't. I won't waste time on what I did like and just get to the things I didn't.

It really irritates me in books when people start having sex, and suddenly they're like "baby," "babe," etc. It's just ugh to me.

Also, I was reading this on my Kindle, and I got to 60% and thought it was about to wrap up, and when I realized I had 40% left, I was like: what in the world else could possibly happen, and what did was just kind of .... anticlimactic.

People make a stupid decision because they want to keep the ones they love safe. Then, the person you thought was the bad guy actually is....It could have been wrapped up in like 250 pages and it was 432. It was really long.

This was super cute! I love the relationship between the main characters. If felt really healthy and genuine. I loved that he was a single dad and she was a rockstar, it was a nice change from traditional dynamics.

There were some parts that fell a bit flat for me, and some overly cliche or overused phrases throughout, that took me out of the story a bit. Like, I didn’t love how often it was mentioned that the FMC was taking the MMC and his daughter to do something he had always wanted to do with her but couldn’t afford. The focus on financials felt weird given the rest of their dynamic.

But overall, it was an exciting, fun book with twists and turns, and a REALLY strong cast of secondary characters that make you want to read their stories. Would recommend!

This read very much like a wattpad story. I did enjoy it but everything came just too easily and fit together too quickly. Even the stalker storyline ended too nice and easy. IMO the drama could have been heightened-all around but mostly with the stalker. The book was a bit repetitive and could have been shorter, and the characters were all just so nice they were kind of boring. But the spice was hot and the over all idea of the story was good.

Dafne and Ezra are one of my favorite couples so far for a rock star romance genre. The way the two of them managed to pull me into their world is fantastic. Can't wait to see more of this series.
