Escape to the Gulf Coast of Florida with Georgia Carpenter as she gets a second chance at life, love, and happiness.
New beginnings await Georgia Carpenter as opening day for the Sea Glass Inn approaches. It’s all very exciting but there are a million things to be done.
And a million fires to be put out. With the constant reminder that nothing good ever comes easy, she and Travis Taylor, her handsome handyman, conquer each problem that arises, bringing them closer than ever before.
But is it all happening too fast? Georgia isn’t sure and doubts begin to creep in. Maybe it’s time to put the brakes on things. Or is she letting her past dictate her future?
Renovations at the Seaglass Inn are moving forward as opening day is just around the corner. Georgia Carpenter, owner of the Inn, has hired a couple of employees who are ready to start work immediately. Georgia is also excited to receive their first reservation. Meanwhile, Travis Taylor's daughter Sam has decided that her young son Clayton may benefit from getting to know his paternal grandmother. But she doesn't know that Clayton's father is in town and is shocked to run into him for the first time in ten years.
The sixth book in the Blackbird Beach series was a bit slow. Most of it centered around Clayton's father, Levi, telling Sam the real reason he left her years ago. At the Inn, there were a lot of plans for the magazine shoot that will take place the next week. My rating: 3 Stars.

Rating as a movie: PG-13
My rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My thoughts: 📱64% 2:13:16 Ch. 13 - Fin story, but I'm not a fan of the way they are playing judge and jury when it comes to child custody with no consideration of what's best for the child overall.
I didn't enjoy this book as well as the others. The 3 month old is written like a 6 month old, the 9 year old sounds 6 years old, I don't like the kitty situation, but most my biggest issue was how the other bio parents were treated. I don't like the all and nothing approach. Don't get me started on the instalove. This is the 6th book, and we are still in October.
Recommend to others?: Yes. A dud had to come along eventually. A 4-star one is awesome.
I gained 10 pounds just from reading about Coffee’s morning goodies alone! Georgia is getting closer to opening her Inn. She hires another employee; the photoshoot is scheduled for the following week. Again, we get to know more about Livinia’s shenanigans, this time with Levi, Clayton’s father. Will that woman ever stop?
Travis is happy his daughter and Grandson are with him. Sam has a good job and plans to attend school in the fall. He is getting ready for the election and still takes the nightly walks with Georgia. They get some good news as Georgia’s divorce is finalized. As reservations start to come in, dates are filling up, Mia’s cards are working.
A new worry or two crops up, but it looks like the Inn will be ready to open after her sister’s photoshoot happens. So bring on the next book.
I don’t know why I keep listening to these. Lol. They’re free on Audible and they have potential. They have many things I love like the beach, romance etc. But, it’s a small town and a girl gets pregnant and moves away with her mom and the Dad was told she had a miscarriage and never knew he had a son. There’s no way!! And the son who is 10 should have been 5 based on his character. This is current day and the grandma still lives in the town. Also, the grown children can just pick up their lives and have no ties to their old lives?? Not realistic. At all. The estranged aunt has a personality change, is miraculously cured of stage 4 cancer and moves there too?!? Really?? The characters lack depth. Try Diane Chamberlain, Karen white or even Elin Hildebrand for a more realistic beach read with characters that have a little more depth.

I believe this is my first book by Maggie Miller. I didn't read books 1-5 in the series but that didn't seem to make a difference. I was able to catch up on the gist of what the previous books were about. T
This was a good book to listen to on my trip to Maine and I will be reading the next book in the series on my way back to Vermont. Any book set at or about the beach, be it ocean or lake, I am usually drawn to. As I read, I could just imagine myself enjoying the peacefulness of the ocean just outside my window at the Sea Glass Inn.
A good story with a little family drama thrown in that will continue into the next book. It was easy to listen to and would make a great beach or walking novel.
Gulf Coast Promises (Blackbird Beach Series Book 6)
Gulf Coast Promises (Blackbird Beach Series Book 6) ~ This book had me emotional from start to finish. Gulf Coast Promises digs into loyalty, forgiveness, and the strength it takes to keep moving forward. Georgia’s story continues to inspire me — she’s not perfect, but she’s strong, and that’s what makes her so relatable. I love how Maggie Miller ties in old memories with new beginnings. It feels like life coming full circle — perfectly imperfect and full of love. I would definitely recommend this book and series and can’t wait to start on the next book. If you want to know what happens next, you’ll just have to read this series yourself — you won’t regret it.
Another cute book! I like that each book is kinda a short story. I read one book, then read a completely different book and when I'm ready to visit the sea glass inn again I dive into the next book.
Oooo… this might be the best one yet. The tea is hot and stuff is going down. I’m here for it. Lots of promises are definitely being made. Relationships growing and falling apart. The inn is getting closer to opening and I love the characters.
This was the best book to fall asleep to…better than melatonin! Nothing happens and all they talk about is food, but when I woke up at my usual 3 am and 5 am, I just turned this story on and ZZZZ I was out like a light. I recommended this for all insomniacs.
I have enjoyed this books…right up until Levi proposed. The entire dinner scene was ridiculous and not believable. My review lost a star because of it, but the book was good up until then.

Gulf Coast Promises: Blackbird Beach Book 6 is by Maggie Miller. This sixth book is as good as the first book. Maggie is doing a great job keeping the standards up for this series. The setting at the beach makes the book so much more pleasing. As you read, you can imagine the peacefulness of the beach just outside the inn. The inn itself is getting finished and sounds lovely and restful at the same time. When she describes the items Coffee bakes, the reader can smell the bakery items and see them as he/she licks his/her lips. After the hurricane and Livinia’s antics, things seem to be settling down and working for the residents of the Inn. As soon as reservations start coming in, Mia will quit working at the grocery store and begin running the inn. She is ready to start and ready to start dating Lucas when she resigns from the store. Travis and Georgie continue their nightly walks along the shore. Travis has lived up to his claims of taking care of the inn. Things are turning out just right for the inn and for them. Georgie is content, her daughter and son are close by, her granddaughter is simply adorable, and her sister is living next door. Now if the inn will just get finished, the photo shoot goes well, reservations start coming in, and her divorce comes through. Travis is at peace with his daughter and grandson living with him. Sam has a good job and is ready to start school in the fall. She has decided to let Levi’s mother get to know her grandson if she wants now that she has her divorce from Levi’s father. At least Levi doesn’t live in town too. Changes are in the air as the inn winds down toward its opening. Will they be ready in time?
A Sweet and Satisfying Promise Kept! "Gulf Coast Promises," the sixth installment in the Blackbird Beach series, delivers exactly what it promises: a heartwarming escape to the Florida coast filled with new beginnings, charming romance, and just enough gentle conflict to keep you turning (or listening to!) the pages. I'd give this audiobook a solid 4.5 stars! Georgia Carpenter's journey as she prepares to open the Sea Glass Inn is utterly engaging. You can almost feel the salty air and the buzz of excitement as she navigates the "million things to be done" and the inevitable "fires to be put out." Her determination is inspiring, and it's easy to root for her every step of the way. The chemistry between Georgia and Travis Taylor, her "handsome handyman," continues to be a highlight. Their partnership in tackling challenges brings them closer, and their budding romance feels both natural and incredibly sweet. However, I appreciated the realistic touch of Georgia's doubts creeping in. It's a relatable struggle – grappling with past hurts and wondering if new happiness is happening "too fast." This internal conflict adds a layer of depth to the story and makes Georgia's journey feel all the more authentic. As always, the narration was fantastic, perfectly capturing the warmth and charm of the Gulf Coast setting and the nuanced emotions of the characters. If you've been following Georgia's story, you won't be disappointed. If you're looking for a delightful and uplifting listen, "Gulf Coast Promises" is a perfect escape that will leave you with a smile and a desire to visit Blackbird Beach yourself!
Georgia Carpenter got a 2nd chance when her Aunt Norma left her Sea Glass Inn and two adjoining properties. Georgia's daughter, Mia, and son, Griffin, arrive both needing mom. After extensive remodel and repairs, she is almost ready to reopen the inn. Each book in the series will stand alone but should be read in order.
The renovations of the inn are almost complete. Georgia and Travis continue to grow closer together but still waiting for Georgia's divorce to be finalized. Lily has bought the house across the street and juggles remodeling her home and completing the inn. Levi, the father of Sam's son, Clayton makes an appearance in this book. Old grievances between the two need to be sorted before Clayton is allowed to meet his father and new grandmother. Sam's grandmother, Lavinia continues to try to block the reopening of the inn.
The narrator does a good job of separating the characters voices.
The Sea Glass Inn is coming along. Travis is campaigning and Lily is about to become a permanent neighbor. Lavinia is still causing problems but Sam is holding firm that she is not allowed time around Clay. Sam does feel that having a grandmother in his life would be wonderful for Clayton, so she goes to visit his paternal grandmother and discovers that Clayton's father is in town. Levi is desperate to be a part of his son's and Sam's life and has information that changes everything Sam has ever believed.
I love the new Hires, especially Coffee! I feel like I need an extra workout simply reading about his baked goods. I can't wait for the photoshoot and election. The Grand Opening is starting to feel real.
Enjoyed this book enough that I immediately jumped into listening to all 8 books in series. These are fun short Audiobooks that I got from Audible Plus catalog.
The plots developed characters and story lines with the ending of one book leading directly to the next book.
In book 1 Georgia inherits a Gulf coast cottage, just as she was needing a fresh start in middle of divorce from her cheating husband, nd we meet Travis the handyman. Then we meet her daughter Mia, who is also looking for a new start after her fiancé is caught cheating with her future brides maid.
In this book we are introduced to new characters and secrets.
I'm not sure how I'm going to separate the reviews or if I will.
I enjoy this series because it is a nice escape from reality. This book is just as wholesome as the first five books were. They are nearing the grand reopening of the inn and election day but there is still a lot to do. Sam and Clayton finally spend time with Levi,Clayton's dad, and reconcile very quickly. So quickly that, after 2 weeks of dating unofficially, they are getting married. Georgia and Travis are happily dating now too. I really enjoy being able to escape to this book series when I need to destress. Its an uncomplicated series that is easy to read/listen to and isn't too fantastical.

Great for in the car on long drives as nothing really happens, just everyday in small town America. A sweet, no thrills continued story about building a better future for community.
Frustrating points are that the grownups treat and talk to the 9 year old boy Clayton as if he is 4 years old. The older adults treat Samantha, a 26 year old single mom as if she is still a pregnant 16 year old. And Samantha talks and behaves like a 16 year old. I question what was she doing for the past 9 years that she did not mature. These points are a bit frustrating but over all a sweet, slow, no frills saga.
The Inn's grand opening approached with meticulous preparation. Lavinia's attempt to disrupt Sam's plans failed as Sam confidently maintained her composure. The newly constructed paddle board shed stood ready for a fresh coat of paint. Decorative shells adorned the entrance, with Coffee assisting in the final touches. Lavinia returned to Tangles, seething with jealousy over Samantha's engagement to Levi. Impulsively, Samantha called Levi, seeking confirmation of his earlier marriage proposal. When Levi reaffirmed his commitment, Samantha spontaneously suggested they wed the very next day, her excitement palpable and unexpected.
Holy heck How can you not fall in love with Levi and hurt for him all at the same time I love Clayton and how innocent and cute he is about everything Lavineya needs to move on in life and Travis just man up and ask her to be yours forever I read reviews about how griffin was trying to keep chloes mom from her but she left her baby at a doorstep of someone she hoped was the father and never reached out she doesnt deserve to have that beautiful girl till she is old enough to make the decision on her own.
I absolutely love this series and this is the best book yet. It's a small town women's fiction, a great beach read or just a relaxing read. It's okay if you don't like the book, but don't read every book in the series and complain about each one, but continue on to the next book in the series solely because it is a free read on Audible. Realize that this is not the author for you and there's plenty of other free books out there and maybe one will be by your next new favorite author. Remember life is too short to read books you do not like
Anyone reading this continuation of this storyline and latest book would either be smiling from ear to ear. Or maybe even shedding a tear or two. The author sure does know how to inject emotion and pure happiness in the character within her writings. Each book just keeps getting better and better. I can’t wait to start the next book in this series of books.
This book flew by so fast! I couldn’t believe it was over. I was so deep in the juicy gossip time flew by! All of these books are good but this one was juicy. Everything is coming to a point….good and bad. It’s about to explode! I like this series so much. I am hoping I can find another series like it. All of the narrators are doing an awesome job. No narration changes. Characters have stayed the same. This adds to its appeal.
Book 6 of 8 in the Blackbird Beach series. These books should not be read as stand alones. Each book ends in a cliffhanger so you can't wait to read the next book in the series. The plot is good and each book seems to have a new character added to the group of wonderful characters. In this book we continue to see just how mean and hateful that the ex mother-in-law can be. She has been a thorn in Georgia and Travis side throughout the series and now a huge thorn in her granddaughters side.
