Favours always come with a cost, and after the vampires helped us save Jacob, we found their price was more than we’d bargained for.
I thought my family was safe. We’d fought against our biggest threat and were still reeling from our losses. But Davion and his clan were facing a threat, and even if I wanted to, I couldn’t turn them away. Not when there was so much on the line.
But the problem with stepping up to help in someone else’s fight is that it can paint an even bigger target on your back.
And now that we’d exposed ourselves, the shadows were coming. But this was a war we didn’t know how to fight, and I had no idea how we could survive.

Reader warning: this book contains explicit scenes and briefly deals with themes that some readers may find triggering.

Sit down, brother. We need to talk about our latest shit show.”

After escaping the witches at the end of the first book, Calli and the pack are trying to figure out what to do next. They don’t have much time to rest though before a new threat arrives in town. Shadow demons are killing people and vampires, and it’s only a matter of time before they get to the pack too. Owing a favor to the vampire, the pack has not much choice but to get involved and they now need to find a way to kill the shadow demons before it’s too late.

The kids had such an innocent confidence in all of us. Hopefully, they’d never realise we were just making this up as we went along, and that we were just as terrified as they were. We didn’t have all of the answers. All we had were even more questions.

This book is a quick read, even though it’s almost 500 pages long. It’s easy to get into and the quick pace makes it even easier to finish it in no time! It felt more intense than the first book, and the stakes are getting higher too, but at the same time, I feel that the main plot did not progress that much. Don’t get me wrong, a lot happened, but it’s mostly minor problems being taken care of, everyday interactions (even though their every day is pretty hectic and crazy lately), pack dynamics problems, and a few problems with the Council, but overall, it took them the whole book to be able to find a solution to the problem that was introduced at the beginning. All these little events build up towards the final scene of the book, but I still get this feeling that the story is almost at the same place as it was when the book started. Or maybe I feel this way because there is no connection to the “witches trying to rise their queen” plotline in this book, so it’s almost as if this issue just disappeared.

“Councilman, if we’d known you were coming, we’d have purposefully made absolutely no effort to prepare for your arrival,” I told him, holding a smile on my face as I did.

The Council, more precisely Councilor Stone, is still trying to gain power over Calli by sending spies in the pack, threatening the pack and Calli, or helping them, just so the pack owes them a favor in exchange. I am really wondering what will happen with this specific plotline. The Council is obviously rotten and corrupted, but at the same time, the pack has so many more pressing issues to deal with. Still, I hope Calli will kick their asses when the time comes.

Seeing the vampire clan head sitting at our kitchen table sipping tea from a china cup was completely messing with my mind right now.

After Davion and his clan's members helped the pack at the end of the first book, they manage to create a shaky alliance, and I really hope that it will remain. I like the idea of the pack working with Davion and becoming (kind of) friends. Even though we did not see much of him, I like Davion, and I want him to stick around so he can help Calli and the pack, and hopefully, the wolves and the vampires will be able to remain allies.

“Yes, you’re not a wolf, are you, wildcat?” Sean laughed, and Abby let out a kitten growl in agreement.
I could feel my wolf roll his eyes as I realised that our pup, wasn’t a pup, after all.

“Something creepy, yet cool is going on with that pup,” Hunter murmured.

Abby is the cutest new member of the pack. Also, the pack calling the kids “their pups” is so freaking cute! I LOVE how they all jumped in to help the kids adapt to their new life in the pack, and how they would do anything to make them smile and keep them safe. Seeing them care for their pups and trying to figure out how to be responsible parents was adorable and funny at the same time.

I love how the author mixed the spice and sexiness of a reverse-harem with the adorableness and cuteness overload of young children having their way with a pack of grown-up wolves. The pups are utterly and incredibly adorable. I fell in love with them as soon as I first read about them. And the way they stay together and try to protect each other? Cuteness overload.

I would recommend this book to someone who is new to reverse-harem and wants something that is not too intense to start. Calli has 3 mates so that obviously means sexy moments with three different guys, but so far, it's been mostly Calli-Grey, Calli-River, or Calli-Tanner, there is only one moment where it's Callie and two guys, the rest of the time it's only her and one man so it's milder than other RH series I've read.

I was supposed to have all of the answers, I was supposed to keep everyone safe, but these days I felt like I was barely breaking the surface for air. I couldn’t hold everyone else up at the same time.

We needed to get better at this. Calli had gone from being a twenty-year-old backpacking around the world, to suddenly a mother figure for three kids. We needed to make sure we dealt with this as a pack and didn’t just expect her to fill the void when we ran away from the kids because it got scary.

Grey and Callie struggle a little more in this book because of all the responsibilities they have. Grey needs to be the Alpha his pack deserves, and he puts so much pressure on himself that he feels inadequate, or thinks that he failed his pack. Callie is also slowly drowning under all the responsibilities being dropped on her. She needs to care for the kids most of the time and organize the household because the men are just clueless. Add to that the fact that she needs to use her magic to protect and heal her pack, research new ways to defeat the Shadow demons that are roaming the woods, and get acquainted with a potential new member in their pack, and poor Callie can’t seem to be able to catch a break.

“Honey! I’m hoooome!” Tanner’s voice sang from the front of the house and was quickly followed by a stampede of little feet.
“Why do I get the feeling that Tanner is going to be the favourite?” I retorted.
“If it makes you feel better, it’s only because he’s a big kid at heart,” Calli laughed.

I could feel the “found family” vibe more in this book than in the first one, and I adored it! Callie and Jacob are full members of the pack, as is Abby, the cutest little cherry-bomb ever. Hunter and Cassia are also staying with the pack after the events at the end of the first book that almost cost Cassia her life, and we also get to see more of Hollie since she’s involved with Nash and things are getting pretty serious between them.

“And you have a… mating bond with her as well,” Sean pointed out awkwardly.
Grey flushed in embarrassment, and I decided that this, right here, was my new favourite hobby. I all but rested my chin in my hands as I watched these two grown men dance around the fact I’d had sex with Grey.

Sean being all protective of Calli and Jacob is heartwarming. He is like a papa-bear (or should I say papa-dragon?) when there is something dangerous happening, and I can’t wait to see him getting more involved in the action (hopefully it will happen) and unleashing his badass side.

The dynamic between the pack members is cute and funny at times, and serious and intense at other moments. Tanner is always there to diffuse the tension and make sure that the kids are happy and not too worried about everything that’s been happening lately.

“Who says I need to be saved?” he said with a shrug, but I could see it was the doubt and fear he’d be accepted here talking.
“Everyone needs to be saved, even if it’s just a little bit,” I told him.

I liked the addition of Maverick in this book, and I loved seeing him trying to figure out what was happening with Grey’s pack. Why they were so different than his old pack and why it felt so right to be with them, even though they were not behaving AT ALL like what Maverick was used to. He saw the true meaning of having a pack with them. A pack that resembles a family more than a selfish group of selfish people with a well-established hierarchy. With the way this book ended, I am not sure if we will see him in the third book or not, but I really hope that he will be there. I liked him even though he was present only for the second half of the book.

After that ending, I don't know where to start. Shadow Wars was 100 times more intense than Wolf Hunts. There were so many factors in this book that had improved from the previous in the series.
I quite liked the addition of Maverick. It was fascinating to see his character experience things for the first time. I felt bad for him over his upbringing; While seeing him come to terms with feelings and emotion that he has yet to experience.
Another thing to praise were the pups! They are completely and utterly adorable. I loved how they have the pack wrapped around their fingers. The three of them blossoming and demonstrating their resilience was commendable.
As the story progressed I felt stressed on Calli's behalf. So many things were happening in such a small amount of time. The final two chapters had me on edge. As soon as I read the last page I was disappointed there had been no more to read. Looking forward to book 3

This book will draw you in from the very beginning. I find this series highly addicting. It keeps you wanting more at every turn and don't even think that you ever have anything figured out because I promise you that CJ Cooke loves keeping you on your toes lol. It is filled with suspense, drama, lots of funny parts, sarcasm, wit, and let's not forget about the sexy steamy scenes!!! A couple of the characters will steal your heart immediately, guaranteed. I love this ride that the author takes us on in Calli's world. I highly recommend this series, and if you haven't read the first book, then what in the world are you waiting for?!?!?!? But seriously, you will not be disappointed with this book. And just an FYI, the emotional roller coaster is very intense with this one. I think the author said, hmmm I wonder if I can out do my last book in the emotions department and really grab their souls....well let me tell you, she truly succeeds at that. And it is the best thing ever. I love when a book truly grabs you like that and you feel like you are apart of that world. Highly recommend this book!!

CJ Cooke has a demonic gift to suck you into her book and drag you through a whole gamut of emotions before she is finally finished telling you her story. She stole my sanity and sleep!
The author picks up where she left off in book one, Wolf Hunts, the scene is quickly set and a fast pace is established.
Shadow Wars lived up to all of my hopes and dreams and then exceeded them!
I'm so emotionally invested in the characters and love them all, so for me the multi POV for this PRN RH is just squee worthy.
We get some answers to questions from Wolf Hunts, we also have twists I did not see coming! The ending had me saying WHAT?! Not in a negative way either! It was I didn't expect that and when do I get my hands on book three worthy!
I loved the playful nature we saw with the characters in the lighter moments and it really broke the tension nicely because the tension was ramping up, what happens next? What are they going to do? How will they resolve the conflict? I just loved all aspects of Shadow Wars and hope anyone else who reads it loves it as much as I did because it was perfect to me.

Great second book. Just when you think you couldn't be surprised, you're whacked upside the head with a twist. The kids are adorable, the relationships develop more and they learn how to be a pack. The ending though... I need to go and pick it up off the floor where I left it.

Great series, great book. It's the perfect PNR RH that you want to read. Multi Pov. Med burn, and action packed.

I don’t even know where to begin my review for Shadow Wars because I am still an emotional mess and I finished this days and days ago. CJ Cooke has this way with her writing that will make you feel as if you are right there inside the story feeling what everyone else is feeling. Emotions are running super high in the second installment of The Stoneridge Pack Series and let me tell you for all the ish that is going down Calli did not wavier one time on any decisions that had to be made. That babe right there is fierce as hell. Not only is Calli going through tons of emotions but her guys especially Grey are felling things they never have before.  We get to see all of the side characters in full force especially the kids who are absolutely the shiny beacon of hope for me. They are so funny and the way they express themselves is just so raw, real and honest. You can’t help but love them so fiercely.  Be prepared to have your heart and soul ripped out stomped on and then shoved back into your chest. In all honesty I think CJ thrives on our tears she has a little mason jar that she collects them all in while she has this evil little smile! Absolutely a must read!!! 500 stars!

CJ Cooke has done it again! Book 2 in the Shadow Pack series does not disappoint. I could not put this book down. One second I was laughing at Tanner and his boyish charm and the next I was crying for Colby and everything he has been through in his short life. The heartfelt emotional rollercoaster this series is taking me on is a journey that I can’t wait to continue.

Holy cliffhanger alert!!! The complex problems around the pack are really coming to light. Calli is a great FMC and her mates are definitely interesting. This book is plot heavy and still manages to have plenty of steam. I can’t wait to read the next book.

This was another stellar book from CJ Cooke. The emotional depth in this one is superb and I truly felt everything the characters were going through. What I love about this series is how unique it is to shifter stories and yet has all the elements you love about the paranormal genre. The characters are dealing with real life issues such as grief and trauma while also battling magical forces and corrupt foe.

There were twists in this book that left me gasping and I just stared at the screen blinking wondering if what I read actually just happened. Unfortunately my kindle doesn’t have a magic button to make something not happen so I had to turn the page.

This book focused more on the issues at hand and all the enemies they have around every corner. There were some great steamy times even if I’d wished there was more. I’m greedy. I have no shame in that. 😂

The ending will take you by surprise and then smack you around a bit. Then when you think you’re good, CJ was like, okay here’s some more! My heart is still on the floor where it dropped with that last chapter.

But as always the cute little kids steal the show and make you want to cuddle them all. There were great laughable moments, ahhh moments, and even a few “stop being dumb” moments. It’s a great story that will tug at your heartstrings and leave you wanting more. If you haven’t picked this up, do it now!

Multi POV. Med burn. Cliffy. RH. Grief trigger.

description

Disclosure: Aside from this book is a reverse harem book, physical, emotional, and psychological abuse may trigger some readers. Note this as your warning. In my case, it triggered me to be frustrated but more towards the ones who inflicted it, and I felt for the character involved.

Shadow Wars is the second installment in the Stoneridge Pack series. It is advisable to read Book 1 - before getting lost in the plot, characters, and concepts. This book starts directly where Book 1 ended, so it would be a disservice to the reader or the whole story if readers start in the middle.

The writing is from a multi-POV, not only from Calli and her pack members but also from new characters who will impact the story. Even with the many voices in the book, the writing is clear, concise, and takes off from the last POV, so it was easy to follow. Calli and the pack find themselves in a more complex predicament as other paranormal beings come into play. It is not only the werewolves in dire need of a "savior" - who or what this will be is the bigger question. I am excited to explore further. It is a more lengthy read and will give readers more to expected and look forward to reading.

Calli comes to her own more as she develops and grows into her powers. She is also feistier than ever since she had to adhere to the Council and pack laws, which could sometimes be ridiculous. She has new added responsibilities, aside from Jacob now. She seems to also add on "big kids" in her lookout. I would not assume that Calli is the "savior" per se because she is still young and still has so many things to understand before entirely doing anything. I commend her dedication and selfless nature to protect the group, but this situation might be beyond her scope and capabilities. This war does not only impact her but the rest of the paranormal kind.

Grey, alpha of the pack, is taking on more stress as his pack grows to be "inclusive" of all types of beings. I am happy that even in the supernatural world, social acceptance is developing. He is learning to look inside himself to find out more on how he can do more, and with his faithful pack members, it is looking up even in the tricky situation they are in. However, it is crucial to note that there were times when Grey had lost control that affected people around him. I am not sure if it is due to the pack's growing numbers and the collective powers, but those were the times I got worried since he acted "out-of-character." Readers have to see it to believe it.

Tanner has a new surprise in this book. He starts taking a more active role aside from taking care of the newcomers. Although Grey's pack has no hierarchy, Tanner is still considered the beta of the pack and has shed a bit of his playful side to balance his serious side in helping strengthen the connection of the pack members. In doing this, some new revelations came into out, wherein family ties and loyalties tested as secrets come to the surface after all these years. I like how he turned into a big brother and matured throughout the story.

A few more "mates' happen in this book, and although some were expected, there were still a few shocking ones. I cannot put too much of the story; else, it would spoil the fun of the book. But I can say that after the witches in Book 1, there is another more powerful, sinister, and foreboding entity threatening the pack and everyone else in their world. No one has thought of stopping it, so the race is for Calli and the pack to find out how to stop these entities and save their world. There will also be new and uncharged alliances that will test the pack's trust.

My favorite part in the book is when the pack grew into a "mad-house" with kids surrounding them. It gave a moment's reprieve to the already stressful situation that Grey, Calli, and the pack have to face - a war that came into their lands. It was refreshing to see the pack grow to accommodate kids and will later "shape" how they care and watch over each other. The kids somehow act more mature than expected, but I believe it's because of knowing they have their "special powers" to manage. They seem to be the ones that teach the pack how they should see the world and how to save it.

Overall, Shadow Wars is a spin-tingling, exhilarating saga of Calli and her family/ her pack as they try their best to live life as best as they can with their "special powers." I have always enjoyed the author's storytelling style of paranormal beings - shifters, vampires, wolves, and witches. It started long before this series, but each book that comes out gets better and better. There is a lot of well-described imagery and descriptors that paints a vivid world beyond ours. The story grips readers and pulls them at the very start and will not let you go until the end. Last word on this book: the ending was as jaw-droppingly fantastic as expected from the author.
"I would do anything for you, Calli. I'd tear through a thousand demons, I'd single-handedly take out the Council and any cover that came against us. You aren't mine, Calli. I'm yours and I will spend my life trying to prove that to you."

You guys!!!! Book two is just as good as book one!! I loved every second of this book. There is so much action in the book that there's never a dull moment, if anything there might be a little too much going on. But hey, I'll take that over not enough going on any day. I will say if you are not a fan of another mate being introduced to an already established bond then this book might bug you. Usually this does bug me, but in this case I thought it was done well.

So in the last book Jacob stole the show, but in this one Abby stole the show. She is so adorable and literally has everyone wrapped around her finger. There is also more to her that no one can really figure out just yet. Coby has such a sad story and we really get to learn more about him in this book and your heart will just break for him. Once again the side characters really complete this book.

I think one thing that kind of bothered me was just how fast Maverick started to change. I mean I could be wrong in the timing of things, but it just seemed like a really fast turn around for him. Other than that I don't think there was anything else that bothered me with the book. The plot of the book is amazing and I can't wait to read the next one.

Be warned that the ending of this book will have you in tears!

Wow. This book had me hooked really quickly. Loads of twists. A bunch of times I was shocked and wanted to close my eyes, but had to keep reading. You know when you read something, want to yell “no!” At the characters, then have to make yourself keep reading through your fear that it might get worse?
The first book was good, I liked the story and characters, but it didn’t feel quite enough. This one got there. Calli and her guys felt a lot more developed and real. The pack have been settling in after the crazy witch battle from the first book. The kids were all kinds of adorable and awesome. It was cute and touching to see them bonding and helping each other deal with there trauma. There was a new guy introduced, and he started off a little clunky, like his personality was a little rushed to start with. But he quickly smoothed out, and I was just kept on the edge of my seat wanting him to work out.
In this book, Tanner’s a-hole father is still trying to find a way to steal Calli. But the focus is on the monsters stalking the vampires. Shadow demons. Now they are also looking at members of the pack, and only Calli has the power to fight them.
Fair warning, this one ends on a pretty heart wrenching cliffhanger. I definitely need to know what happens next.

Shadow Wars by CJ Cooke is a paranormal reverse harem romance. This is the second book in The Stoneridge Pack series.

The book comes with a warning: "This book contains explicit scenes and briefly deals with themes that some readers may find triggering. This is a reverse harem book with adult content and is intended for 18+ readers only."

I absolutely love Catherine's books! I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn't wait to see what was going to happen next. This book took me on an emotional roller coaster that I never wanted to get off. I really enjoyed getting James, Grey, Calli, River, Tanner, and Maverick's point of view throughout the book. It really brought the story to life.

The book ends on an amazing cliffhanger that had me tears! I can't wait for the next book in the series Blood Feud to be released later this year!

I would highly recommend this book if you love paranormal romances or reverse harems, or romantic suspense.

This book was amazing!
It had me go through so many emotions that I just couldn’t keep up. I was full of joy one moment, crying the next, and angry right after. Cooke does an amazing job in expressing the characters emotions that I didn’t realize I was crying until I felt the tears. She also does great in not having a dull moment throughout the book. There is always something going on that keeps you turning each page.
I will tell you this one does end on a cliffhanger so please be prepared to be at the edge of your seat towards the end.

CLIFFHANGER

Spice: 3.5 - finally ramping up but it’s still sparse. Which is OKAY! THE STORY IS SO STRONG the smut is just the sprinkle on top.

This storyline has continued to be strong. I will say I feel as though there is so much overwhelmingly going on at once. I find myself overwhelmed and forgetting some of the issues going on. I’m excited how the characters are shaping up and that even the side characters are still a large part of the story. This book ends on a big cliff hanger so be ready to hop right into book 3!

Shaping Up to Be Epic

I wrote a really long review for book one so this one is going to be a bit shorter.

This series is shaping up to be truly spectacular. Not your average wolf shifter story. Something much deeper than the common plots.

- Expect strong character, world, and relationship building. CJ Cooke is a damn good storyteller. Her words produce an immersive experience where you feel the world around you. Your heart will pound. You will feel fear, frustration, hope, a deep consuming love.

- Expect the kids in this book to have a surprisingly pivotal role in the story. These kids are more than side characters and surprisingly, you'll likely look forward to the scenes they are in the most. You are going to love Jacob and his fierce protective nature, his love for his Sister and his chosen Pack. Your heart will ache for Colby and the trauma he experienced before his parents abandoned him but you'll feel hope for his rebound under a real family. You are going to be enthralled by Abby and the joy and light she spreads whenever she enters a scene.

This story is drama, mystery, and suspense, all wrapped in a warm fuzzy sweater of a chosen family loving and sacrificing for each other.

Let me wrap up by saying that I finished both book one and two in 48 hours (largely doing nothing other than reading and sleeping), and then when finished, I promptly turned around and began a full reread. It's that good.

Ratings (out of possible 5)
Character building: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ (some characters are really well fleshed out, and others could use some expansion)

World building: 🌎 🌎 🌎 🌎 🌎 (really strong world building)

Relationship development: 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 (these are well crafted and moving relationships and interactions)

Romance: 💓 💓 💓 💓 (I LOVE how protective the guys are of Callie, how in awe they are of her. Their romance leaves you feeling good.)

Heat/steam: 🔥 🔥 🔥 (There are some steamy scenes, including one threesome. They are detailed but on the short side and tame compared to some of what is out there 😘)

Action: 🍿 🍿 🍿 1/2

Suspense: 💣 💣 💣 💣

Drama: 👀 👀 👀 👀 👀

Dark: 💀 💀

Triggers: There are some scenes featuring a child recovering from physical abuse by his parents, you don't see the abuse scenes but you see the sadness and guilt the child deals with because of it.

Ending: Moderate cliffhanger, but still worth reading. If you're like me, you simply won't believe the worst. Surely CJ won't do us like that. 😄

Recommend: YES 👍 👍

THAT ENDING, THAT CLIFFHANGER! I loved it. Yep, I thought it was risky, romantic, dangerous, and I am glad that the author took it in that direction. Sure, I may be hanging on to that cliff for dear life now and hoping for things, but I loved how it made my heart pound.

This book pretty much gets right into where book 1 left off, we have a few characters in trouble and in the process of healing, we have more answers, and more character development. I loved having more Grey in this book. He is the alpha of the pack and I was really into seeing more of that side of him, I thought it was needed given how his power leaks to the pack, that he has so much on his mind and heart, and I really enjoyed him taking out a bit of dominance in the bedroom with Calli. I enjoyed more of him in this book! I am low key fantasizing of how he would be in threesome with a certain introduced character and Calli, since they are such strong characters and there seems to be a challenging vibe between them.

Tanner and River give me the comfort I need while reading all the danger that is coming for their pack. SO many elements in this book that kept my interest were on magic, secrets, shadow demons, the wolf pack, shifters, a sexy vampire, all while trying to protecting their cubs. CJ Cooke delivered the same fun vibe as the first, but still the pages have that tinge of sadness, loneliness, and danger. The magic scenes were more intense as Calli develops more, and overall I am just invested in this series. CJ Cooke delivered!!! basically it tingled my imagination and my vagina…AGAIN.

I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!! The audacity of that cliffhanger ahahahah
Reverse Harem (thank goodness because they are too likable ! And lickable)

Wow…just wow. That was a heck of an ending, I started biting my fist, tears in my eyes and lots of profane language was shouted. I can’t believe the cliff hanger that I was left on, so much happened and I’m going to be silently going insane waiting for the third book to come out.
More secrets were uncovered, more threats came about and then The Council drops random things on them. It felt like it took no time to read this book, I couldn’t find the time to put it down. So many things were getting thrown at me and I just loved the world that I got sucked into. There is still so much that is unknown right now and I am curious to see how things play out for everyone.
Maverick was a character that I did not see coming into the story. But I have to say that Maverick’s redemption had my heart in so many pieces. As much as I didn’t like him from the moment, he stepped into that room he really grew on me and I’m just hoping that things don’t go how they look. I would have loved to have seen him take the pack bond, I think maybe things between him, and Grey might have been different, and he wouldn’t have to leave so soon.
The raw emotion of the characters combined with the stressful situations was just the perfect torture. I was finding myself laughing and crying and feeling as though my heart was being ripped out of my chest (lol) to just complete shock. I thought the first book was going to have everything, but I was so wrong. There is so much more to their world than I could have ever thought and I can’t wait to get lost in it again.

On the good side, the characters (and children) are still great and there's always some interesting storyline going on with them shuffling several things. On the negative side there are some plot holes and some distracting grammar errors that keep popping up. Not sure how to feel on Maverick yet.

The first book set you up needing this on. Believe me IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT. You hand your normal rh fun and more. She learns she has a new mate they aren't sure they can trust. She grows as a witch to save her pack. A pack which keeps growing. Jean is awakened by YOU WILL NEVER GUESS WHO! The vampires collect on the debt from book one but it's also needed to save one her mates and several of the pack. It ends with the biggest cliffhanger making you scream for more!

A little much

The writing, characters and story line were great. My issue was that it was so much drama without any of the problems getting solved so it just kept piling on. A couple things struck a nerve with me and i had to skim but that's because it was my issue and nothing to do with the writing.

I absolutely loved book 1 so I have been super excited for this release. Cooke throws us straight into it with this one and it’s one heck of a roller coaster of emotions from start to finish. I love the Multiple POV’s, I enjoy getting into everyone’s heads. I can’t wait to see what happens in the 3rd book after this epic ending.

Shadow Wars is the second book in this series and it was soooo good!
The Stoneridge Pack is growing in size and with Calli and some new pups joining and moving in to the pack house. It was great seeing Calli out doing normal things like shopping for furniture and things for the kids. Little Abby will melt your heart and I can’t wait to see what her magic is and what animal she shifts into. Of course, there was also some serious problems for the Calli and her family, which seems like every time they solve one problem a new one pops up.
Shadow Wars was a great read and will leave you an emotional wreck with that ending and I just hope the Stoneridge Pack will eventually get a HEA.
