Even though I found the loves of my life, my first year at Emerald Lake Prep was not all rainbows and sunshine. I was close to drowning, almost sexually assaulted and to top it all off I got kidnapped and almost stabbed to death by a crazy bitch. Add in a shocking situation I wasn't expecting, I'm now starting my second year at ELP with my life forever changed. How will the guys react? Will Charlie stick around? Also, what the hell is going on with me and Tyson!? My life is not all about me anymore. I will do whatever it takes to protect the people I love. When the Savage Hellhounds declares war on the Phantom Reapers, I find myself in the center of it all. There's a lot I don't know about my father’s side of the family, but slowly the truth unravels. With a new ally by my side, I face the biggest fight of my life.
Emerald Lake Prep is a Reverse harem series and has a lot of sexual scenes that are meant for 18+ . Please note that all characters involved in sexual activity are all over the age of 18 and consensual. F/F and M/M content as well as group sex. Trigger warnings. Drug and alcohol use.Attempted sexual assault. Miscarriage. This is a fast burn RH.
Holy cow!! This was even better the book 1! The twists and turn really kept me on my toes and I absolutely loved how the boys and Charlie made my heart burst with the care they took Emmy. I even loved the raw and real reaction that one of the boys had and that it took him some time to process. But that ending. What the hell. That came out of nowhere and has left me gasping. This series just keeps getting better and I can’t wait for the next book!!! On and the spice was sooooo yum!! Please read trigger warnings!
Into The Unknownstarts off from whereSecond Chancesended, with the story continuing on to be told from multiple POVs.
In their final year of school, Emmy now has a lot more to deal with than when she began. With now not only being pregnant, but trying to deal with her new feelings for someone outside of her harem Tyson, Oliver’s older brother. At the same time Tyson is trying to deal with his feelings for Emmy, whilst Oliver, Ben and Charlie are adjusting to the news of Emmy being pregnant. But most of all Talon, who at the same time is dealing with his inner demons when it comes to his own family.
Throughout the story we see Emmy travel this new journey of being pregnant, whilst juggling her school work, her harem and new found feelings. Plus family members and secrets being revealed. I had to give props to Emmy, the fact that she always tried to forge on despite everything she had endured in the past year. Never allowing it get her down and continuing on with her life with her loved ones. Plus never allowing them (Oliver, Charlie, Ben and Charlie) to baby her (because of the pregnancy), showing them she is strong and capable to handle anything need it be. But at the same time she annoyed me and I couldn't stand her at times. With the claims of how she had grown up in the past year. It sure didn’t always feel like it, given how she would sometimes imply that being pregnant automatically meant (to herself and others) that she is a mature grown up. But with how she would act, or handle some situations and incidents, of which included lying and keeping secrets. It just proved she wasn't the mature grown up, she would like to think she was, but more of an immature teenager at times. The one big thing that bugged me about Emmy that needs to be said is despite her having Oliver, Charlie, Ben and Talon all of who loved and adored her. Sometimes she would mention she wasn’t as happy because she didn’t have Tyson. A guy she barely knew, yet claimed to love. And from what? A few gazes/looks, some small talk, yet somehow she was miserable without him. Claiming the group didn't feel whole without him. Almost as if the group hadn't already been existing without him before. Like WTH?! Really? Plus the fact how they tried to put the blame (of Emmy not mentioning her feelings for Tyson) on other members of the harem when it was all her. It just proved her immaturity more, lack of trust on top of her selfishness.
This has to be said, but in all honesty my favourite part of the story was seeing and meeting Harlow! With Alisha giving us a small sneak peak into Harlow's life, it definitely had me excited for her story to come. Being able to out her backstory and how she got to where she is and became who she is now.
While I did somewhat enjoy the story, there were a few issues that I wasn’t keen on and some that just outright bugged me. My biggest issue was there didn’t seem to really be a strong narrative to the story. Majority of it just seemed to be about Emmy’s journey of pregnancy and constantly hooking up with her harem. While it's not necessarily a bad thing, IMO it just made the story not feel like it was really going anywhere. Whilst I appreciated there were a few times relationships were discussed and there was some drama from within certain families. It wasn't until near the last 20% where it felt like a stronger narrative was starting to form and become something more. Unfortunately though, once again it was pushed back to focus on fulfilling Emmy and her harem’s lustful desires for one another, which I just didn't like. There was also the fact that I felt the story was a little too wordy for my liking, with parts of it being overly described when it could’ve been shortened or even gone without altogether. Especially considering sometimes it lead to quite a few times of repetitiveness throughout, with the same thing being said and/or mentioned more times than needed be. Making me feel like I was reading the same thing over and over again.
Overall,Into The Unknownwas still a good read. And with that ending, Alisha definitely has me intrigued and looking forward to seeing what will happenShattered Pieces. But most of all, it has me super excited for Harlow’s story!
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
In to the Unknown is book 2 of the Emerald Lake Prep series. Although set within an Academy it’s more of a Motorcycle Club. Includes MM FF & MMF possessive alpha males, second chance love, first love, forbidden love - teacher/student romance TW include Extreme Violence including mutilation and murder. Mean girl bullies. Abusive parents, Unplanned pregnancy and School shooting.
It’s the start of a new year at Emerald Lake Prep and Emmy is recovering from being tortured and nearly killed when she discovers she is pregnant, not only that but she also learns she has a sister who’s a little bit psycho and desperate to meet her. Emmy is finally going to have the family she always dreamed of. While our gang prepare for parenthood Emmy and Tyson struggle to find how to tell the others about their feelings for one another - I’m torn with Tyson, I’ve got nothing against him but I feel he’s been added to tick all those extra boxes. On that subject It can sometimes feel like there is too many tropes being added, there hasn’t really been a main plot line so far, the characters just carry on their daily lives and occasionally bad things happen but they get resolved quickly before moving on to the next disaster. The story feels secondary to the heat and although the heat scale is off the charts I need an progressing storyline with my smut not just random bad things happening for the sake of happening. However I can’t ignore that this book it is extremely well written and the last 30% had me completely captivated and cursing myself for any bad thoughts and doubting this series would be anything but brilliant. The storyline morphs and a big bad wolf I can get on board with is revealed- Emmys dad wants Emmy and her child and promises do whatever it takes. The promise of the rival MC gang plot lines is making me giddy with excitement and that ending! I was expecting something completely different and was blown away by it.
Random thoughts - I love Charlie and Emmys relationship, we need more ff in RH. I haven’t considered dry humping sexy since I was a teenager but I need to reconsider that.
This was such a good continuation to the series!! It starts of with the end of book 1 and we discovered more of everything that was happening. I really liked how everyone is so supportive of Emmy and specially with everything that happened to her.
There were a lot of funny moments for me in this book, sometimes I couldn't stopped laughing! Emmy and her guys have such a good connection, along with Charlie; It's they're all a family and will always be there for each other.
Some moments got me to reflect a lot about everything that was happening with them and they still being younger but with all that baggage. I feel like the author handled everything they're going through so well. I may have got annoyed with some characters and wanted to get into the book and punch then but I was glad all was resolved, LOL.
Into the Unknown was such an enjoyable and deep read as well as the first book. It has a great balance. I can't wait for the next book of this series!
P.S.: I'm not that really good with reviews so take that into consideration...
In this book we pick up with Emmy and the group as she starts her second year at Emerald Lake Prep. After an unfortunately eventful summer Emmy is back with her harem trying to navigate pregnancy, another year of school, a new love interest, a sister she never knew she had, and a new unknown threat (or is it threats 😉🤷🏼♀️).
The pregnancy news isn’t taken the greatest at first but the group comes together to figure out how to make it work. Just when Emmy is feeling more secure about her pregnancy with everyone on board, she is no longer able to deny her growing feelings for Tyson. Their relationship is definitely a slow burn but worth the wait! The introduction of a new character, Emmy’s sister, is a great plot twist and she definitely ratchets up the crazy factor! I didn’t foresee what was coming at the end and once again we’re left with a cliffhanger. Questions waiting to be answered until the next installment of the Emerald Lake Prep crew.
I gave this book 4/5 ⭐️ only because I have a hard time connecting to the characters. It’s a great story I just had a hard time really getting emotionally invested.
First of all, I just want to say that I love these characters ! They have the perfect mix of sassy, bad a**, sweet, loving, and they are real.
Second book essentially starts off where book 1 ended, we get to see the aftermath of the end of that and what comes from all of it. Plus- new additions to the Fam in a few ways !! ☺️☺️☺️
There was not much I didn’t enjoy from this continuation ! It may have ended on a cliff- but surely that poor girl has been dealt enough ! I definitely think her new family and one of the only decent “blood” family Emmy has she will be okay, so surely her sweet song will be fine too !
I love that despite all the obstacles Emmy has had thrown her way she still has a good head on her shoulders, she isn’t to jaded and she has a whole group of people and extended people to show her what true love is.
And also- Brittany gives the absolute definition of “it’s Brittany b*tch,” and not in a good way !
Pick this one up ! Great first two books from this author and I can’t read the new ones that come out- also, going to need a spin off on H!
Into The Unknown picks up after book 1 and Emmy is dealing with the aftermath of what happened at the end of Second Chances.
The characters all grow during this book, and are kind of forced to grow up. Some news isn't taken so well by a couple guys in the harem, but everyone comes back together.
Emmy is constantly being thrown various obstacles to overcome, and she comes out stronger. The connections she has with each member of her harem is great. They each provide her with something that she needs and they all mesh very well together.
Into The Unknown also has an element of mystery to it, with these "gifts" and notes that start showing up for Emmy. We learn of a new threat that involves those, as well as an old threat that returns. We also meet Harlow, who will have their own series. She's a little crazy, and I am here for it.
The end of the book is shocking. There is a lot happening in a short period of time, and ends on a cliffhanger. I'm excited to read what is going to happen in book 3!
The entire book I sat on the edge of my seat. Emmy’s life was getting better, her torments at school were mostly gone...and she was doing well with her loves. The longing looks that Emmy and Tyson gave each other made me sigh, their scenes made me really want him to be added to her harem too.
This is a high heat book that will make you squeeze your legs together in the best way possible. Emmy’s journey thru pregnancy is super sweet, as they worry about her. Emmy is also finding that her family is growing and has a sister, even though she’s a little crazy. There are growing pains still as they haven’t been together very long that they work through. Emmy is getting gifts and she doesn’t know from who..and they are getting more threatening. Who wants her baby, and where will the next threat come from ?
This was such a great next installment, and the only thing that made me a little crazy was the actual birth but I can overlook it in terms of the story.
This book is hilarious and sexy and exciting and heartbreaking and beautiful, all mixed into one hell of a story.
The story about Emmy who gets sent to Emerald Lake Prep (ELP) because of a bad decision. But once there, she finds a piece of her past she never thought to see again, Oliver, her ex-best friend who broke her heart and left her behind to struggle through her bad situation on her own.
But ELP provides her with a second chance to find love and create a better future for herself, and in the company of great friends and sexy lovers (because in a RH #whychoose) her life becomes something worth fighting for, even though the jealous stalker b**ch, who wants her man, never let's her enjoy it all for long.
I have read this book so many times and I still laugh out loud at all the funny scenes, and trust me, there are quite a few! 😄 The humor is amazing, the sex scenes steamy and diverse, and the characters feel like your best friends when you reach the end.
This is such a strong debut novel from Alisha and I personally can't wait for the next one. This will be book 1 out of 3, and the rest is set to publish later this spring, so don't be afraid to jump in
Man, I don't know how things can get any crazy than this! There are so many twists and turns that I don't know how the gang all keep up!
Tyson, my man, he gets me every time he is just so differently with Emmy than he is with everyone else and I freaking love it! I need me a man like Ty in my life, he is just perfect.
I love Emmy and Charlies relationship, its perfect and their love for each other shines bright, they really are the glue to group. We definitely need more f/f in reverse harems!
I have loved reading about Their pregnancy journey and how everyone treats Emmy so differently. Of course they're still ups and downs as they have known/been together for that long.
My only downside is the nicknames... I hate cheesey nicknames but thats more of a me problem so Ill get over it. Book three needs to hurry up because I cant wait to get my next dose of Emerald Lake.
Into the Unknown started off right where Second Chances (book 1) ended. Emmy and the group are back at school, trying to navigate pregnancy, their harem, school & family/home life. I loved how accepting the group was of Emmy's pregnancy and how they always were around to help her (minus a few minor hiccups, but they worked through them). Rick and Amy are seriously the best parents to Emmy, so supportive and always there to help her or advise her.
Alisha did an amazing job of weaving in some mystery, sexual tension (whew, Emmy & Tyson, the tension was off the charts hot) and we got our first look at Harlow, what a badass. While I'm really frustrated with where the book left off (dang cliffhangers), I'm really excited to read Book 3 and can't wait to read more books from Alisha!
This book is so much better than the first book. I can't believe I just read what I read. I love these characters and the story. It was a roller coaster of a ride. We all thought that it was going to be smooth sailing for the second year while Emmy was pregnant, but no. Of course it wouldn't be Emmy's life if crazy wasn't right around the corner. Emmy finds out she has a stalker that she doesn't know and Tyson can't decide if he loves her or not, but we all know that he does. And, of course, there's another cliff I'm hanging off by my fingertips. *sigh* I can't wait until book 3 because now I have nothing to read. (Begging you, please hurry, Alisha! )
I can't believe that ending from book 1. I knew this book was going to be a tough act to follow but Alisha Williams is brilliant in her story telling. This book was just as intense and emotional as the first. I was so proud of the support Emmy got from everyone in her life. Her foster parents who love her so much are the parents everyone hopes for. Ben's parents are amazing too. I was so happy they took Talon in after the unspeakably horrific tragedy of his mothers murder by his inhuman father. Queenie to the rescue. Sucks that even Charlie was not immune to the crappy parent epidemic. I was glad Steel was accepting of Emmy and her harem and that he supported his sons. He's a good guy. Ty and Emmy. Finally accepting their feelings and everyone realizes it too. That ending....damnnnnnn I was so scared for our group. But Ty to the rescue. Oooo book 3 is gonna be lit.
Well after the revelation at the end of book 1 - this book focuses on Emmy and her crew dealing with the pregnancy and Emmy trying to figure out her feelings about Tyson. Honestly, I don’t usually like books that have pregnancy as part of the main arc, but I thought it fit well and I liked that Williams also portrayed the fears and triggers re: her first pregnancy. Plus, there are some new twists with Emmy’s family. I loved the introduction of Harlow and I can’t wait to read her story, but back to this book. I love the focus on the relationships and the ways they all support each other. The ending is explosive and I kind of really, really need book 3 now! :)
This is one heck of a follow up too book one! It leaves off pretty much where book one ended. Emmy heads back to school with a secret. When she tells Charlie and the guys the secret, most of the reaction it good. The chemistry with Emmy and her guys and Charlie leaps off the pages, like it did in book one, but more. The tension between her and Tyson is amazing and he may be my new favorite! Their are quite a few surprises in this book and some shocking moments with a cliffhanger ending, that will have you needing book three now!
I really enjoyed getting to see more of these characters! This book picks up right where the last book left off with Emmy recovering from the attack. It was also nice to see Tyson grow closer to Emmy and the group and we got to know him a bit better. We also saw Emmy dealing with the struggles of being pregnant and going to school, and being on probation. I also really enjoyed meeting Harlow and I am super stoked to read her book and get to know more about her.
I’m glad Tyson finally joined the harem! I loved this book because it picks up right where we left off and the drama just didn’t stop from start to finish and oomf that cliffhanger! I will say that at first I was confused why thanksgiving came before Halloween in the story until I googled that thanksgiving in Canada is the early weeks of October. Can’t wait for book 3!!!
So after book 1 made me blush 1000% of the time, now I've had to live through book 2 (Into the Unknown) steamy romances. We start to see a deeper and darker side to the beloved characters within Emmy's harem. So all of the back stories you wanted to know about Charlie, Talon, Ben and Oliver... Yep you find it all out!
Now for the big surprising revelation I had no idea about... ***Not really a spoiler but be prepared to have your mind blown***
Alisha's new series - Blood Empire (Rising Queen) is none other than the awesome a$$ Harlow McKaven from Emerald Lake Prep. Okay, so I may be completely alone in this revelation, but I'm telling you... I screamed. Literal screams of excitement and shock. Was a very mind blowing moment for me.
Anyways, my point being... reading book 2 of this series will ONLY want you to read Harlow's series and by George I'm frothing at the mouth to be able to sit down and binge read every single book Alisha has published.
What else happens? Well if you're reading this review then I think you've already read the cliffhanger on book 1 **But if you haven't - spoilers ahead**
We see Emmy's struggles through pregnancy, the growing tension between her lovers struggles and a whole lot of action. With another crazy cliffhanger.
Who's your favourite guy? I have to say I love Tyson, but Talon and Ben's relationship... OMG I need more!! Plus more shower scenes OH DEARY.
Okay so I loved book two loved loved it, I love the character development between all of the characters and BENNN! Yes lots more Ben time 😉 also loved how she added Tyson and her sister she’s nuts but in a great way I feel anyways and this does end on a cliffhanger again but not an evil evil cliffhanger so I’m good with it!
This is the second book in an amazing series! I love how the characters grow and develop in this book! Even though this is a reverse harem book, the author is able to develop personal and group relationships that make you fall more in love with the characters. I am partial to Tyson. :) The author did leave us with a huge cliffhanger and I cannot wait to see how this story ends! A must read!
I am really enjoying this reverse harem series. Although it is academy there is a lot of sex mf, mm, ff, mfmm because there is a woman as part of the female main characters harem, and multiple men. There is drama both within the romance and external to it, some bullying but not within the harem. I did not find it too angsty. I am excited to read the next book in the series when it is released.
I absolutely love reading about Emmy and her loves and I couldn't put the book down, and the cliffhanger is killing me, I need to know now! (I have pre-ordered) I am happy to see there will be a spin off in the future as Harlow is my kind of crazy lol (also pre-ordered) Now off to sulk while I wait for the next book lol
Into the Unknown is the second book in the Emerald Lake books. I loved this book way more than the first one. The character development of all the characters is amazing and make you want to keep reading. Definitely ended on a cliffhanger that going to drive me crazy. I can't wait for the next book to come out so I can find out what happens.
I loved the first book and this one just as much. The guys are so great and getting to know them as fathers is even sweeter. Charlie is awesome and is going to be such a cute mom. That ending though will kill you Alisha basically plank walked us right off a cliff with that one.
As brilliant and thrilling as the first! Alisha Williams second book in the Emerald Lake series is an addictive read, one you won't be able to put down. Loved meeting the new characters and that some got some well deserved punishments.
Alisha you did it again! I feel like I know these characters so much better! I am so darn happy that Tyson has joined the gang. The tension is smokin hot! This book is still smoking hot but I feel like I understand everyone a lot better. Alisha you’re amazing and I can’t wait for ELP3!!
Yes!!! So much happened in this book. All of it was so...good... There was a few pages where I laughed my arse off. Especially when Talon meets Harlow...I mean Queenie🤣🤣🤣 I am so happy for Tyson🥰 I love that we got a lot of Ben and Talon together. So so glad Bichany is gone😁
What a great second book to this series. I love this group so much and can we talk about Queenie... I love a good crazy.. that ending had me though Cannot wait til book 3
