The author continues to create a gripping plot with the return of some old and new multifarious characters, superb dialogue, and spectacular settings. Agent Teagan Stone is on another dangerous mission in Spain to unravel a plot aimed at the United States. The page-turning narrative will keep you guessing because Stone’s memory is still hazy from the last disastrous operation causing her to have doubts about her team, which adds another intriguing dimension to the storyline. The narrative continues to expose some shocking twists and turns, secrets and lies, cover-ups, dirty politics, betrayal, cyber-terrorism, and resentment, building up to an ending that will leave you wanting more. I like Teagan Stone who is intelligent, insightful, tough, and self-reliant in a world dominated by men. I am looking forward to seeing what is in store for her and her team in Book 3.
I really tried to enjoy this book but too much didn’t add up and too much was disjointed. The main character Agent Red was said to be 31, but for someone to have the experience she’s supposed to have to lead her organization, be retired from the Navy and to have 3 children she would have to be at least 10 years older at the minimum. The other bothers were the way the story jumped around and minor errors that should have been caught by the editors and advanced readers. All in all an interesting premise but disappointing. There was enough however to get me to try the next book to see if there is any improvement in the storytelling.
I’ve read the first two books in the series, and the stories are tremendous. The action is continuous, fast-paced, & keeps you engaged.
Teagan Stone is a complicated character with stories from all angles. How she keeps it together is quite interesting. An excellent series for lovers of spy, thrillers.
