This is one of those wonderful books that shows you how to DO things, gives you hints about how to design it right, and reveals to you that what you have done in the past might not have been the best choice. Of course I have no ability to install cabinets, refinish floors or install a sink but I have learned that several lights in my kitchen are not optimally placed or maybe the wrong bulbs. Maybe this book will help me to get the backslash right. Great ideas for anyone interested in a complete remodel, a small update project, or just buying new appliances.
This is a good resource if you are just starting to plan for a kitchen remodel. Nothing too crazy or trendy here, but skews high end. The first part of the book discusses the different pieces of a kitchen: flooring, backsplash, cabinets, etc. The rest of the book looks at befores and afters of real remodels. The listing of sources for each remodel is very helpful.
A collection of recent articles from Fine Homebuilding highlighting newer materials and techniques for high end kitchens. Some new material in here, but probably not useful for useful for those looking for simpler remodels or comprehensive overviews.
nice book, good details and explanations without getting overly in-depth. a nice range of projects and ideas and one that gave me some food for thought for our one-day kitchen upgrade!
A really well done book of practical kitchen upgrades. My only pet peeve is that I really wish the before and after photos were taken from the same angle. It is really hard to see the specific changes.
I have been really happy with books from this publisher.
