Jaimee Mackay wants to remain unwed, but the time is coming when she must choose a husband. As a laird’s sister, it’s her responsibility to strengthen clan alliances. But when her brother holds a gathering in her honor, she is shocked when her clan’s greatest enemy joins the warriors vying for her hand.

A man she hasn’t been able to stop thinking about since a chance meeting months earlier.

Alexander Gunn hates the Mackays. A clan-chief’s son, he intends to continue the feud that the Scottish king has done his best to end. Yet the words he and Jaimee shared earlier in the year have resulted in an obsession.

He has to have her.

The connection between Jaimee and Alexander ignites as soon as they meet again. But will the hostility between their clans keep them apart?

Enemies-to-lovers is one of my favorite romance tropes. A Kingdom of Dreams by Judith McNaught remains one of my favorite romance novels (well...the first half at least. 😅).

I was skimming the ebook to see if I would like the writing and it wasn't long before I was reading in earnest. Thank goodness today is a holiday and I didn't have to go to work because I finished the book in one sitting. Fortunately, the book was around 250 pages long.

The hero (Alex Gunn) and heroine (Jamiee MacKay) are drawn to each other even though they are enemies, and I enjoyed reading the magnetic pull between them so much! It was so good that I couldn't wait to read about their next interaction. So much sexual tension!

Sadly, my enthusiasm gradually dwindled in the second half of the book when I realized that these two do not truly know one another. Plus, Alex returns to his clan and they are separated for a while. I also felt like I didn't know Alex. He comes off as this hard, cold, heartless warrior in the first half. Then he makes a 180 in the second half. It got too fluffy at times. Maybe I don't like sweet Highlander heroes?? lol This might have been a 4-star read if it weren't for some issues I had with the second half of the story.

This is the fourth installment in the series (if you count Book 0.5. If not, then this is the 3rd book.). I have not read the previous books or any other series by this author, and in my opinion, this book doesn't stand that well alone.

- A previous battle is mentioned no more than five times. As a result, the clans met with the king at the beginning of the book. The Mackay chieftain turned his son over to be imprisoned. I wonder if the battle occurred in another series completely.

- The three previous couples make appearances since Jamiee lives with them as they're her family members (brothers, sisters-in-law, and a cousin and his wife). Why must the previous couples have names that begin with the same first letter or sound? Connor and Keira, Morgan and Maggie, and Kennan and Cait. Even their deceased parents - Rory and Rose.

- There are sooooo many names/side characters!!!!! There's tension in the Mackay clan and a fight broke out, resulting in a few deaths. That took page time away from the main couple and contributed little to the romance.

The author explained in her author's note that the Gunns and Mackays were real clans who hated each other. She used historical names, battles, and locations in this book. I like how she can write action scenes though, particularly during the wrestling match.

I've read steamier HRs. Most of the kissing and love scenes occurred in the second half, and there were about two scenes each. The love scene was a little disappointing. There was more passion during their second kiss.

Some quotes:

p.12 Alexander Gunn had trapped her gaze with his--and he wasn't letting go.

p.81 She hated how flustered he made her feel, how aware of him she was at a purely primal level.

p.83 "Why do ye avoid my eye, Jaimee? Do I scare ye?"
"Ye stare at me like a wolf that hasn't eaten in a week," she replied. "I don't like it."

p.117 "I can't help myself where ye are concerned, Jaimee," he said softly. "We lock gazes, and the rest of the world disappears." [...] "From the moment I caught ye staring at me in Inverness, I've not been able to get ye out of my thoughts."

p.118 "I thought I'd cast ye from my mind after Inverness." His gaze never left her face as he spoke. "But when I returned home, ye remained." His hold on her remained firm. "Somehow...I'm in yer thrall." [...] "When I heard that Connor Mackay was holding games so that his bonny sister might finally choose a husband, I couldn't resist." [...] "And when I saw ye again, it was worse...the longing...the need. I've never wanted anything in my life like I want ye, Jaimee Mackay."

p.120 "Ye feel the pull between us, just as I do. Every time our gazes lock...every time we touch. That's why ye are so angry. Ye feel it, even if yer mind rebels." His mouth twisted then. "Do ye think I wanted this either? A Mackay woman for pity's sake?"

p.125 "So, everyone fears ye," she replied with a shake of her head, "but that'll be cold comfort when ye lie on yer deathbed and not one soul sheds a tear." Silence fell between them. [...]
"But maybe that's why ye and I are here tonight...perhaps I want at least one person to grieve for me when I'm gone."

p.126 "My name's Alex," he murmured. "Say it."

p.136 "So, yer final word still stands then, Jaimee? he asked, his gaze boring into hers. "I would give ye the moon and stars if I could yet ye still won't come away with me...won't be my wife?"

p.150 Please, Alex. That was all it had taken. Like a magic charm, the sound of his name upon that woman's lips had turned him into her servant. At that moment, she could have asked him for anything.

p.196 The truth was she couldn't forget Alexander Gunn. And worse still, she didn't want to forget him.

Highlander Forbidden: A Medieval Scottish Romance (Stolen Highland Hearts Book 3) Jaimee Mackay and Alexander Gunn. WOW! WOW! WOW! I love this bold story! I’ve been excited for this story to come out after I read a tid bit at the end of Entangled! This sweltering tale starts when the King calls Scottish clan leaders to court to hold hearings and hand out punishment to those who continued to cause trouble and war with the other clans. Laird Mackay took his sister Jaimee with him to court to stir potential husband interest. The Mackay and Gunn clans were mortal enemies. So, naturally Jaimee wanted to catch a glance of the infamously feared and brutal Gunn warrior, who almost killed her brother and was rumored to might have been the one who killed her father. When she saw him she could only stare at him. Then sensing it he caught her stare, then when he realized who she was, the fun really got started! I loved Jaimee and Alex’s strong and willful characters and their witty banter made me laugh out loud. I enjoyed the utter shock of Alex’s daring antics and the fact that he was completely fearless and unrepentant of it all! This was a great read and Alex is at the top of the List as one of the best “Highland Warrior Lovers” of all time. What a guy! I look forward to the next book in this series.
Content Notes:
Genre: Medieval Historical Romance Trope: Enemies to Lovers
Content: Adult. Some explicit steamy romance descriptions 3-4 out of 5 flames. 🔥🔥🔥🔥

I loved this ADULT novel that focuses on the forbidden love💘 between members of enemy clans. I was rather disappointed in the anticlimactic ending.

With stories like this one, is it any wonder why Jayne Castel is one of my favourite authors? Her stories just keep getting better and better and I, for one, truly appreciate all the work she puts into her books. Between the love story and the historical background, you can't ask for better.

Jaimee and Alexander's story is filled with lots of action, danger, twists and turns, strong characters, humour and a love that will overcome all obstacles. Jaimee and Alex come from enemy clans and when Alex makes a life changing decision, my stomach was in knots, wondering how it would all work out. He's a man in love and he will do anything to prove that love to the only woman who has ever caught his heart.

Be prepared to be drawn in and not want to put down the book once you've started reading it!!

Stars 4/5 (Margaret Mallory, Julie Johnstone, Monica McCarty, Lynsay Sands, Donna Fletcher)

This book was good, worth reading in a few days. It hit pretty much most of my personal markers for a good read and well roundness of the book. my personal markers for a great read...1. smart and engaging writing, 2. Humorous, 3. sexy interactions 4. stories with family/friends and 5. I’ll read the book again and again

The development and interest in main characters, and secondary characters was enjoyable. It kept me wanting to know and read more. H/H were well paired with a few ‘bumps’ along the way.

Laugh out loud with humorous moments. The give and take dialogue was wonderful as well as action filled.

I loved the writing around the women empowerment (it wasn’t over the top for me). Badass women rock.

Movement of the book flowed for the most part. Book writing/conversation engaging. Not a lot of historical accuracy (no big deal to me), not a lot of internal character dialogue and not a lot of descriptive scenery written out.

Romantic 3/5
2.5/5 rating hotness and steam.(towards 80%)

I love series around family members or a group of friends. I love the series even more when the author intertwines those characters throughout the book series (it’s a pet peeve when authors don’t do that because what’s the point of the series and introducing the characters if they are not going to interact throughout the series). You get past book characters in this story.

would absolutely recommend the book and the series. you don’t have to read the series in order however you’ll miss the true telling of the story around the series.

I really liked this one. Though as always it was far less dramatic or emotional than I expect (and hoped) for such an interesting plot. Typical of this author though so not surprising.

Alexander was a fascinating hero. As usual from this author we never actually got to delve into this past and see what truly made him who he was. To see what events and trials molded him into the cold harsh man we met at the beginning of the story. Instead, everything was easily summer up by small mentions of how his father was a tyrant and felt competitive with all his children being sons. He often beat the weakness out of them and especially so with his eldest which was Alexander, who actually had scars from being whipped on his back.

Now, for me when looking back on this story I find that we never got to peel back his layers the biggest disappointment of all.

Jaimee was a strong and likeable heroine. She simply wanted to make her family proud but also deep down wished to find a loyal partner whom she could have a deep abiding love for as her parents had for one another. I did like her and I liked when that she was brave enough to stand up to her brother inf ront of their entire clan and that she was also woman enough to realize she shouldn't have interfered and all that doing so had meant. She was intelligent and stubborn but not stupidly so. She was a pretty good heroine.

As a couple I found Alex and Jaimee to be well matched. I really wanted that enemies to lovers / forbidden vibe from them but it never did. This had the idea of being forbidden but there was no true animosity between the two to overcome and they didn't secretly fall in love despite their clans being enemies and had to hide it. Instead, Alex became infatuated with Jaimee from one glance and one brief chance speaking to her. From there he was positive no other woman would do. He wanted her and regardless of the odds not being in his favor sought out a way to get her attention. But even then Jaimie refused to give him the attention he wanted. I did respect Jaimiee for not simply succumbing to lust and being weak in the face of a handsome man such as Alex. She stood her ground and despite their attraction she still turned him down.

Ultimately they were a good match. I could believe there was a natural pull and chemistry they felt for one another while albeit shallow could grow into a deep love. And it obviously did.

By the end I did like this one. It was a nice wrap up and I enjoyed seeing the previous two couples featured in the story as well.

If I had one more detail that bugged me it's that this author favors having the hero give up his entire life for the heroine. While sometimes romantic it can become played out and boring. In this case it made sense for Alex but also felt like more detail should have went into it or he should have felt more emotional or even slightly bitter over giving up the home he loved regardless of his awful father's stain on it. It felt too easy tbh.

What can I say without giving away spoilers
Jaimee and Alexander glance at each other across the room at the court of King James in Stirling.
What starts as no more than curiosity becomes something else ,and there in lies the problem, because Jaimee is a Mackay and Alexander is a Gunn , the hated enemies of the Mackay’s
Time apart has done nothing for Alexander who cannot stop thinking of the Mackay lass even though he knows nothing will come of it.
Yet on hearing her brother is to hold a gathering / challenge for eligible suitors to via for her hand, he decides to enter to win , though she doesn’t want anything to do with him, yet he stirs something within her...
I loved this book and if I’m honest I fell a little bit in love with Alexander’s character,....

Jayne Castel’s Highlander Forbidden: A Medieval Scottish Romance (Stolen Highland Hearts Book 3) is a beautifully written, wonderfully told, conclusion to the series.

The feud between the Clan of the Mackays and their enemies the Gunn Clan is in a conte state of warfare. When King James calls a Meeting of all the Highland Clans, he takes drastic measures to stop the fighting and beheads a number of the Clan Chiefs, and imprisons others for making war with their enemies. Jaimie Mackay made eye contact with their mortal Enemy’s Heir Alexander Gunn during their meeting. She later crossed paths with him in a garden. Once the Clan Meeting is over, the Clans leave with a cloud over their heads, and are worried about Inciting any additional warfare with their enemies.

Jaimie Mackay, sister of a laird is expected to make a match to strengthen clan alliances. Since their first meeting Alexander Gunn was determined Jaime would be his. Would their families ever commit to such a match?

The author has a reputation for creating larger than life characters. Her characters are muti-dimensional people with ever growing personalities. Her characters come off the pages and pull you into this emotional ride that keeps you involved until the very end and with a strong plot that bring this read together perfectly. Full bodied secondary character descriptions add to the depth.

The authors books are well researched and she brings the Highlands to life with her amazing imagery and vivid descriptions that make it so easy to become one with the story. Her dialogue is natural, witty and well written.

I just loved Jaimie and Alex. Jaimie is strong, brave an good. She’s feisty and stands up for herself and others. Alex comes off as a coldhearted warrior but love transforms even the coldest of hearts. I love this engaging read, the characters and this beautiful love story. It was such a lovely way to transport the reader to another time and place.

Thank you so much Ms. Castel for this beautifully written love story. You never fail to seduce me with your stories.Beautifully written!

The kids are tired of the Mackay vs. Gunn feud , and the elders don't even remember what the beef was about!

Alexander Gunn sees Jaimee Mackay at Inverness and is smitten after a few looks and conversation in the garden. After months, he can't forget about the lovely lass and when Conner Mackay throws a competition to win his sister's hand, Alexander enters.

After calming an altercation, Jaimee regrets interfering because now Alexander is camping in a tent near hers. Jamiee decides to confront the man, and Alex is very lewd with her. He gets slapped. But she can't forget about what he says.

Then Alexander kidnaps her, but in his defense she has Morgan and Conner standing around who wouldn't let him get a word in edgewise. He wanted to tell Jaimee how he felt before she made her marriage decision. But his actions in doing that, sullied her name. To further it, Jaimee covered for Alex and said she went with him. Alex corrects this later because he did not ask her to do this. Then him and Conner fight after Alex tells Jaimee's brother Conner that he abducted his sister.

These two were ready to give up familial ties to be with each other, and I liked that they knew what they wanted or felt they knew what they wanted. No waffling. The relationship happened kind of fast, and I wondered if it may have been an act of rebellion on their part. But they really were happy with their choices, so by the end I was convinced of their love.

Also, the well placed love scenes were really good. I read primarily romance, and plenty with sxe and I believe this story was masterfully written. Lovely, sensual, and reminded me of younger days. I appreciate that.

An excellent continuation of the Stolen Highland Hearts series. Although it is a stand alone book, I feel it benefits from reading the first two. This book is about Jaime Mackay, the beautiful young woman with two strong Highland brothers. She is in dispute with her eldest brother, the Laird, Connor, as he wishes her to marry and strengthen clan alliances. A duty she has avoided so far as she wants what her parents had, a love match. At a reckoning in Inverness, where the King is to hand out punishment to subdue the warring clans, Jaime’s gaze locks with Alexander Gunn, heir to the Lairdship of his clan and enemy of the Mackays. They go on to meet and exchange words, by chance, in the maze in the rain until disturbed. Jaime has to deal with her increasingly lustful dreams along with her clans hatred of the Gunns, their sworn enemies. Alexander however, is becoming increasingly obsessed with thoughts of Jaime. Laird Connor Mackay agrees to host a gathering where the winner will marry his sister, Jaime, if she finally agrees. Alexander Gunn and his men are reiving in the area rather than returning home to his overpowering father. Alexander decides to arrive uninvited on Mackay land and enter into the games to win Jaime’s hand. From here on in Jayne Castel writes of the confrontation between the clans, the rising passion between Jaime and Alexander although they know any relationship is forbidden. Will they ever be together? Duty to the clan or love? Can they have what they really want? Well written, historically and in her use of language, as one would expect from this writer. Believable, hot, love scenes without being trashy imo. A good read. I’m wondering if there will be another?

Alexander Gunn hears about it, and decides he wants to win her hand in marriage. He wins the matches, but ends up kidnapping Jaimie so he can talk to her. He returns her unharmed the following day. It goes on from there, to Alex falling in love with Jaimie , and him getting kicked out of his fathers clan because he wants to make peace with the Mackays Clan , and he loses everything he has ever worked for. The story continues with Alexander going to Jaimie’s Clan, and the Mackays want to kill Alex. Jaimie saves his life by telling her brothers she loves Alex. They do not cut him a break, and he is given a job with their Blacksmith. He has to work his way up. The book continues on to Jaimie and Alex making love, and getting married. Alex has sworn and oath to to Conner, and his Clan, but they do not trust him. It is a very good story, and they have plenty of trials coming ahead, along with love, and trust earned.

Forbidden Destiny

Throughout history true and lasting loves have been forbidden and denied because of some kind of prejudice. Only those brave souls willing to dare and sacrifice have had any chance of grasping their happily ever after.

The intense love story of Jaimee Mackay and Alex Gunn in Highlander Forbidden is just such a tale.

Beautifully written by Jayne Castel, this final standalone story in the Stolen Highland Hearts series is absorbing and passionate. As with all of Ms. Castel's books, the Highland backdrop is vividly described, the customs are well researched and the story is tightly constructed. The hero and heroine, as well as the supporting characters are well developed with differing personalities that mature and change with each page.

All in all, this was an engrossing read that I could not put down. I was actually surprised when I turned the next page and I had reached the very satisfying epilogue. Loved it!

Content 411: This book contains a minimal amount of swearing and some moderately described violence. It also contains some passionate kissing and a well described love scene.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jamiee Mackay doesn't want a husband. She would rather remain single for the rest of her life, but she knows the time is coming when she must chose a husband. She is a Laird's sister and as such it's her job to strengthen the clan with a good alliance. But when her brother holds a gathering and games where she should chose a husband, she is more then shocked when her clan's greatest enemy joins in uninvited and trys to win her hand.

Alexander Gunn was raised to hate the Mackay's and he does. He's a clan chief's eldest son, and he intends to continue the feud that the Scottish King has ordered ended. Yet the words and moments that Alexander shared with Jamiee at the hearings ignites as soon as he sees her again. But will the hostility between their clans keep them apart.

Jayne Castel doesn't disappoint. She brings you a fabulous novel that will have your blood running hot as you read it. These two characters come together in one heck of a clash that is so incredibly hostile you don't know if they will make it or not. Alexander and Jaimee have a connection that just can't be denied. I tremendously enjoyed this book and can't wait to see what Ms. Castel comes up with next.

Highly readable, but in the end I’m conflicted. Things I loved: I loved the chemistry between the hero and heroine, loved that the heroine wasn’t afraid to stand-up for what she believed in and was frank when the hero wanted to smooth things over and act like everything would be roses. I love a heroine that is realistic, but yet still idealistic, too. I loved that this wasn’t the typical progression. The decisions the hero made were so dramatic and sweeping.

Yet what made me love this story also made me wish things turned out differently. The heroine had so much potential for her own story and knowing that the hero, as the eldest son of the Chieftain, could have changed quite a few things. Thinking of Jaime being the start for that change for the better would have made all her bold, “headstrong” actions more impactful.

I think the fact that this took a much different route than what I feel a typical romancelandia plot would, made me ready enjoy the story, but in some ways I wish the author would have taken that route as the better way to show the strength of the hero and heroine together…what they could accomplish.

A Love For Now And Forever:
This terrific series continues with another emotionally challenging and
fascinating story of two people overcoming many obstacles to find the love they are looking for.
The author writes this enemy to lovers story in the most captivating way that I was totally engrossed to the very end.
At the highland parliament meeting of clans Jamie the sister of Conner Mackay and
Alexander Gunn who have many reasons to hate each other find themselves
gazing across the room and making eye contact.
That little look will take them on a whirlwind journey of passion and finding love.
The characters were believable, strong and charismatic.
The thrilling story was filled with highlands games, excitement,
battles, sadness, hate, heartfelt confessions and more.
I loved this story so much I really hated for it to end.
I certainly look forward to the next in the series.
Thrilling epilogue to finish Alex and Jamie's story.
I appreciated receiving an copy early for my honest review.

I was almost afraid to read this, as my heart still ached from things that happened in the previous book, but boy am I glad I did! There is something sweet and satisfying about a hardened warrior finding his heart. There was an immediate attraction between Jaimee and Alexander, the oldest son of her family’s worst enemy. When her brother insists on gathering eligible men to partake in a series of games to win Jaimee’s hand, Alexander shows up to compete. Needless to say, this causes a great deal of discord, anxiety and chaos. There is a lot going on in this story. There are battles, both emotional and physical, barriers and bounderies to be crossed, hearts to be broken and healed, allegiences to be examined, families to defy and stands to be taken. This book is fast paced, full of action and packed with surprises. You will find your attention riveted to Jaimee and Alexander’s story, and unwilling to stop reading until the whole experience is complete.

Alexander y Jaime,

Jaimee Mackey wants a marriage based on love but, as yet, she hasn’t found anyone who fits her needs So, her brother has arranged for their allies to meet and compete for her hand in marriage and she is furious.
Alexander Gunn met Jaimee at the Inverness meeting where the Clans were brought to heal by the king. He is unable to get her out of his head and when he hears about the games, he goes to compete for her. But as the Gunn Clan are the enemy he is not welcomed.
This was such an interesting read: Jaimee and Alexander try to fight their attraction and cannot understand how they feel the way they do. Their families are against any liaison between them which adds to the tension.
I found this such a great read: there is tension, battles and romance, and I loved hearing about the members of Jamiee’s family that we have met in previous books.

A brief moment between Jaimee Mackay and Alexander Gunn leads to meeting again a few month later. When Jaimee's s brother, the Laird of Castle Farr, invites young men from their allied clans to compete in games, it's really for Jaimee to pick one of the competitors for a husband. When Alexander shows up uninvited with a few Gunn warriors, he sets out to prove he is the best man. Jaimee is the woman he wants. Fighting breaks out between the warriors and Alex must leave his heart behind. Then he makes a momentous decision for the woman he loves, that will change his life forever. I stayed up late to finish reading about these two who are passionate for each other. Explicit sex. I recommend reading HIGHLANDER DECEIVED AND HIGHLANDER ENTANGLED first, since the characters in those two books play substantial roles in this one.

Highlander Forbidden is the final book in a rewarding series about three Mackay siblings who find their lives turned upside down and then the person that rights them. Loved the feistiness and sass that was Jaimee Mackay! A true Highlander trait and not just for the lassies!

Jayne has once again captured the true essence of highland life in the 15th century and the writing is brilliant and detailing to make you feel you are at the very least within the presence of each character. If you love, or are even just curious about romance and intrigue in the Highlands of Scotland, you need to grab these books and have a read. You won't be disappointed!

What a fabulous story!!! Third in the Stolen Highland Hearts series and what a scorcher it is!!! Jaimee Mackay, feisty and independent and Alexander Gunn, cold-hearted warrior...two people from feuding clans who hate each other. They are bitter enemies but their eyes meet across a crowded room and sparks fly! I totally loved both characters, especially Alex! Talk about a charismatic virile alpha male! Their passionate, emotional story is filled with excitement, thrilling Highland Games, denial, heartfelt confessions and self-sacrifice. I hated for it to end! Superb writing by gifted author, Jayne Castel. VERY highly recommended! Readers, believe me, you won't be disappointed!

Two enemies, humor, and love? What's bound to happen?

I could not get enough of the scenes with our hero and heroine - I wanted more! That tells you just how much chemistry our couple has, how well-written this story was, and how their relationship evolves.

This story and our hero Alexander made me laughed so much - he's so charming and irresistible, and boy does he know it!

I really appreciate the character growth, how they dealt and overcame their own issues, and got the happy ending that they needed/deserved.

I can't wait to read about Tavish's and Niel's stories!

Read this book because you won't regret it.

Alexander Gunn knew even after Seeing a Taboo, Off-Limits sexy warrior woman that he had to have her! Even if it was from a Clan your family detested?
Jamie Mackay believed in love and she just knew that is what she would find. Problem: her family was pressuring her to marry and they kept hinting she was getting older and she could make a good clan alliance. But, then she connects eyes with him! Of all people it has to be him! No it can’t be!

This is not only one action packed book, but steamy as well! However, the most important is the characters are phenomenal and the storyline is awesome and compelling! I had to read it from COVER to COVER!

Definitely Recommend!

WOW

This book was fantastic. Alexander Gunn, a hardened warrior, who is known to all as one to be feared. Jaimee Mackay an independent strong-willed woman who wants things done on her terms. These two find a invisible force pulling them together but they are from two clans that are at war with each other. Their story is told as only Jayne Castel can. It pulled me in from the first page. Scenes written so clearly you feel as if you are standing amongst all the action and intrigue. The romance and betrayal pulls at your heart strings and makes you feel the love that grows between Alexander and Jaimee. Don't miss this final book in this series. Loved this book!!!

An enemy to lovers romance. Trouble is always brewing between the Gunn clan and the MacKay clan. One summer Alexander, the Gunn heir to the lairdship gazed in amazement at the beauty of Jaimee MacKay. Sworn enemies however love has no barriers. Jaimee returned the gaze with interested eyes. The romance between Jaimee and Alexander was fraught with competition, skirmishes and exile. An exciting book to read. There is plenty of action, drama and steamy hot open bedroom scenes. This book will not disappoint. I highly recommend it.

Jaime is running out of time to chose a husband so her brother and Laird Connor Mackay invites all their ally clans to a set of games to vie for Jaime's hand. Clearly the Gunns, the enemy of the Mackays are not invited. However, after meeting Jaime previously and being completely intrigued, as soon as Alexander Gunn hears of the competition he, 2 of his brothers a a few of his warriors decide to attend. The story is filled with tension, rivalry, feisty women, highland warriors, family ties, duty, honour and love. A great story which concludes this brilliant trilogy.

This book is absolutely amazing, I was immediately drawn into this unpredictable story. You know Alexander felt so much love after what he did. Jaimee was so astounding with what she was capable of. The descriptions throughout are so spot on I could see it all unfolding in my head. Their relationship had so much going against it, I loved guessing what type of decisions they would make, was wrong more often than not, that makes the reading so much more enjoyable. There is so much I’d like to say, but I don’t want to spoil your reading pleasure. You won’t be disappointed with this amazing story.
