Hanukkah story narrated by Peninnah Schram plus candle blessings and 10 favorite songs recorded by Margie Rosenthal and Ilene Safyan. 45 minutes. Insert includes words to songs.
I chose this book because I wanted to know more about Hanukkah.
The first half introduces the history of Hanukkah and the candle blessing, and the second half introduces traditional recipes, songs, games, and more.
The Maccabees were forced to believe by the Greek king, but they did not accept the faith dictated to them by others, and I sympathized with the fact that they stuck to their own faith.
And they won the battle against the Syrians, and their faith is strong.
With illustrations and concise text, this book is perfect for children and adults to learn about Hanukkah for the first time.
This book tells the story of Hanukkah in a consice manner. It is suppsedly for 5-10 year olds, but it is really wirtten in a manner for middle grade and up. It is not so much a picture book as a history book and celebration guide with lots of colorful illustrations. After the history section, there are pages about the different customs, including instructions on lighting the menorrh , blessings, the dreidel, and recipies. There are discussion guides that a parent canuse each night to get their kids thinking.
I would recommend this for youngsters who who wish to more about the holiday and for families who want a celebration guide.
All About Hanukkah with lovely pictures but tiny printed words!
I liked the illustrations! But not your print size. Away too tiny of a print size and you did not make it possible to enlarge the print to be ore easily read. I could not read more than a page or two with out having eye strain. this is. not good for your readers to have to forego in order to read this ebook and so this, this is why I felt I needed to give this only three stars as my recommendation and as for your expecting kids ages
