A couple months into being friends-with-benefits with Paige and Miles is sure nothing can shake them. At least until his brother Evan visits and ruins everything by asking questions, forcing Miles to realize he has feelings for Paige. Romantic ones.
Now Miles has to decide what he kind of relationship he wants with Paige and what their relationship means to themselves and the outside world. Things were a lot simpler when it was just the two of them.
Told in Miles’ POV, this twenty-first century, coming-of-age novella explores the blurred lines between friendship and romance.

Really enjoyed the sequel! The rep, characters, story and how it developed to the end make this a fun and lighthearted read that you'll enjoy! It was a little fast paced but I think it worked well with the story and how it progressed to end! Would highly recommend this series!
ahhh I really loved this book. It was such a cute story! Miles was a great protagonist and it was a fun, light hearted read. Maia was just too funny. The story had a good pace and this novel just had a feel-good slice of life feel. I would highly recommend this book. The aro rep was well done too. Looking forward to the next installment!
I really enjoyed this sequel! The novella was fast paced, but it was the perfect length. I hope she'll do a next one, because I really want to follow their storyline further! Especially curious if the anime club will get new members in their senior year. It was nice to see an aromantic character and two BIPOC characters at the center of the story. I adored Maia and Shawn. Hikaru cracks me up. It was cool to see Miles' home life and his relationship with his family.
I was excited to read a cute YA about an aromantic character, but this was bordering on offensive.
First of all, it's full of typos/grammatical mistakes (mostly incorrect use of your-you're, it's-its, whose-who's), but that didn't end up being my biggest problem.
This could have been a good story if it had been from Paige's POV about her discovering her identity and maybe learning about queerplatonic partners. Instead it's from Miles's POV, and the whole story is about how he develops romantic feelings, and wow now it's so inconvenient that Paige clearly said she doesn't want to date, but maybe if he lies to her and hopes hard enough then she'll change her mind and want to date him?! Not to mention he's breaking Paige's boundaries while lying to her about his feelings, even after a direct question. Also, most of the focus is on Miles and on his brother/friends who are being very amatonormative about the whole thing, instead of about Paige's feelings.
So yeah. Straight up uncomfortable and not a fun read, and I'm not even aromantic.
Super enjoyed this book! I was worried that the author was going to change Paige's orientation, which I know happens (or doesn't) in real life and is totally valid, but she doesn't! Paige is still aromantic. I enjoyed seeing Paige and Miles work out what their friends with benefits situation means to them. The side characters were super fun and I'm excited to read the next installment!
I thought this was a cute novella and is a fun YA book. It’s really well done for a self published author. I think I’d like this to be a wee bit longer and explore the characters more - a although I appreciated after buying this that this is indeed a sequel, so I may read the original book as a companion.
The sequel was so good! It was nice to get to know Miles and have his POV. I devoured this book and am excited for the next one! I wonder which character POV she’ll do next! I’m hoping for Shawn lol. It was nice to see Paige and Miles develop their relationship more clearly.
it`s a short story and easy to read but even in such short story i feel so represented a an arromantic person im so greatful for that and I need to share this
queerplatonic relationshipa are so valid and amazing
Carrying on from reviewing the first book in this series, this book is just as special to me as Take Me to Your Nerdy Leader. I loved that the book took place from Miles' perspective, but wasn't afraid to keep Paige strong with her relationship wants. Not to mention, I think this book introduced me to the concepts of queerplatonic relationships and showed one possible example of what it could look like. I'm extremely grateful Gonzales wrote the Bowden Anime Club series, and these books are some of my favorites when it comes to aspec rep.
