Also known as 矢吹 健太朗. He is a Japanese manga artist. His mentor was Takeshi Obata, the illustrator of Death Note, Hikaru no Go and Bakuman. Since 2004, he has only been working as illustrator to works written by other authors. Most notably on the series To Love-Ru alongside his former assistant Saki Hasemi.
I want to like this series so bad. The premise is funny and right up my alley; guy turns into girl, spiritual aspects, fighting, fanservice etc. The chapters just seem so melodramatic and no intense tension ever arises. I get more frustrated because I am a fanservice fanatic and really like it when nudity is involved in story telling for serious, comedic, and just for asthetics. The artist has such a great grasp and mastery of details and works building, but I’m so bored when I’m reading this now. The lack of echii/fanservice mementos really kills this series for me. I am losing my interest very quickly with this series I hope Kentaro can make volume 5 in a vastly different direction or I’ll keep rating it lower and lower.
It’s sad because initially I loved this concept and series, but now am consistently getting disappointed.
I looked through some google reviews (since the series is technically out online just not in print) and there is a lot more TnA in volumes in the future… at least that’s what we can hope!
