He’s sure they’re too different, but she’s about to show him how fun opposites can be.Sawyer didn’t make the best first impression when he was introduced to Kelsea. She’s cute and funny, but he figured it didn’t matter. Running an empire kept him too busy for a relationship.
With Kelsea’s event planning business booming, it was only a matter of time before she bumped into Sawyer. They don’t know each other well, but when he begs her to bid on him in the charity bachelor auction to help him avoid the other women who have their eye on him, she agrees.
He releases Kelsea from any obligation to go on their date, but she insists he show her a good time. Sawyer is up for the challenge, but what he wasn’t ready for was how fast a woman like her could steal his heart.
Nothing ever comes easy and when reminded that they live in two very different worlds, Kelsea and Sawyer have to decide if together, they have what it takes.
Rachael Eliker was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, where she attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, studying Animal Science with an option in Biology. She currently lives on an acreage in Indiana, with her husband and children where she enjoys challenging home improvement projects, keeping up with a handful of livestock, running on lonely stretches of country road, and writing.
I really enjoyed the relationship between Sawyer and Kelsea. All of the characters were great actually. This is a really sweet, clean romance. I look forward to reading Hugh's story next.
The Billionaire Needs a Date by Rachael Eliker is the second in her To Love a Billionaire series and opens with two people we know: Sawyer and Kelsea. Kelsea is the party planner who made the rescue's gala a huge success and Sawyer is the younger brother of Lauren's friend from college. He had thought he was in love with her for about five minutes until she persuaded him otherwise. Now Kelsea and Sawyer both find themselves at another fund raiser: this time for the children's hospital. It is a bachelor auction (Kelsea's idea) and Sawyer is on the auction block and Rochelle has her eye on him. After using Kelsea to free himself from Rochelle's grasp, he convinces Kelsea to bid on him, to save himself, with him footing the bill. He does and to get the auction over with more quickly after procrastinating, she bids $500,000. He had agreed to match her bid, so that was $1,000,000. Rochelle was not happy. It took Sawyer a couple of weeks and a phone call to Lauren to work up the courage to call Kelsea for the date. She promptly refused him. Based on something in her past, she didn't date people a friend had already dated. The friend, in this case, was Lauren. The first date was beyond the pale and they decided they really liked each other and started opening up. That led to eventual problems.
Kelsea had good reasons for her rules. She had learned by experience and she wanted no repeats. She was a lovely young woman who worked hard and didn't really date. She didn't have time. She fell hard for Sawyer, but her disappointed her. Her heart was broken. Sawyer was truly a good guy. He was so rich, but was looking for a woman who would love him for himself, not his money. In his life, friends, family, and home were the important things. He thought he had found it in Kelsea until he said something stupid, which she overheard, and they fought. Then she ghosted him, something she's promised she's never do. This was a fun read. It's a very clean romance featuring real-life issues in finding love. It's a feel-good; happily-ever-after romance between two people the reader will root for. I enjoyed every second of it.
I was invited to read a free ARC of The Billionaire Needs a Date by the author. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
What billionaire would really need a date? Hmmmm, maybe one who needed to get away from the clutches of a praying mantis?
Let’s take a look at some characters first. Okay, the first person mentioned below may not be that important to the storyline but she is the reason Sawyer and Kelsea get together. And she definitely added flavor to their conspiratorial deed. Recall that praying mantis mentioned above? You get the picture.
😱 Rochelle … well now, Sawyer said it best: “sugary sweet on the exterior while a raging, vindictive, and manipulative crazy blackened everything within.”
❣️Kelsea … according to Sawyer, she was the total package. She was strong willed, smart and beautiful. Ahhhh, but you know there always has to be a BUT. You see, the chemistry was there, but. The charm was there too, but. The desire definitely was there also, but there was one thing missing, and it was important. You see, Kelsea’s boundaries made Sawyer off limits. He was her friend’s ex. And that was a big taboo.
😘Sawyer … according to his ex, Kelsea’s friend, he’s hot, successful, savvy, intelligent, and has a BIG heart … and would be good for just about any woman.
So, if you like a good, flirty but clean storyline, this one fits. However, be prepared for some real life issues to pop up. Love is tricky, it’s usually not ‘at first sight’. Things happen, words hurt and walls of protection go up. There’s just enough drama to keep the reader’s flipping the page and real life never is a bed of roses. Emotions come in to play so the road they travel will be curvy and uphill. But remember, its not the journey but rather the destination that counts.
I was given an advance copy of this book and am leaving my personal thoughts and opinions.
Rachael has done it again! This book is great from start to finish! Characters that we have met in other books in this series come to life in this book! Two very different people from two different worlds. A self made billionaire and a hard working woman at the beginning of her just taking off Event Planning Business come together again at a gala fundraiser for the children’s hospital! In a moment if weakness Sawyer agrees to allowing himself to be auctioned for a date for this fund raiser...until the night of the gala, when and one of the ladies latches onto him like a leach not willing to let go, Sawyer turns to Kelsea in desperation asking her to out bid everyone and he will write the cheque! As this couple date and become better acquainted the fireworks and sparks start all the way to the end of the book! Can this couple come together from what seems like different worlds, and learn to balance time, money and work ethic as well as living in different parts for the country? This is a great book that I would read again! It is a part of one of those series of books that I want to have in my collection to read over and over!
Taking A Chance On Love - It was meant to be one night where Kelsea was doing her friend Sawyer a favour, but it ended up turning into a relationship the more time they spent together. This book is a real page turner, with a well written storyline and intriguing characters. Rachael always has a way of drawing you into the story and making it seem like you are watching it unfold in real life and this book is no exception. You will be captivated with the story from the first page, right until the end and be elated you chose to read the book.
I received an advanced copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
The Billionaire Needs a Date: A Sweet Second Chance Billionaire Romance (To Love a Billionaire Book 2)
Sawyer and Kelsea's story almost didn't happen because Sawyer was dating Lauren who is Kelsea's best friend which was a no no. Never become involved with your friends Ex. Lauren explains that they were in the Friend Zone only. They are both drawn to each other . Kelsea is terrified of relationships because of her past Ex. Sawyer is afraid of being vulnerable and left behind. They become very attached but each one is still afraid to let go of their past.
The Billionaire Needs A Date is a clean, fun, opposites attract romance. I like both Kelsea and Sawyer, their banter and chemistry. I love the scene where she wins the date with Sawyer. They get along great but their romance is complicated by busy lives and long distance. You will not want to miss their bumpy journey to an HEA. I also liked when I discovered that Hugh was not the superficial guy everyone thinks he is. I am eagerly awaiting his story.
I genuinely liked Sawyer and Kelsea. This story was a fun, light, quick read. There was a good flow to the story, dialgoue and romance. All the neccessary ingredients for a good story! I really enjoy Rachael Eliker as an author. This had some fun drama and good sweet lines from Saywer. I'm excited to read Hugh's story. We got some hints as to him & yeah for that! Such a good sneak peek.
The tale of Kelsea and Sawyer is fantastic. Everything about this book was wonderful. It undoubtedly evoked a range of feelings, and it was really exciting. This is an excellent book to read. I recently bought the final three novels in this series because I've been enjoying it so far. Excellent work, Rachael Eliker. I heartily endorse this series.
I loved Kelsea and Sawyer’s story. It was fun and even though they had their personal issues it was clear they were meant to be together. This was a sweet billionaire romance and I’m looking forward to the next one in the series.
Kelsea and Sawyer are a great pair together and when love finds them they are not sure of their feelings. It takes a lot of work and time they each have to put in order to get what they want. This is my review and mine alone. Norma Gorrill
I love that you can enjoy as stand alone or read as a series. I really liked Kelsea and her personality is so good with Sawyer's. Definite twists and turns through our the story that really kept my interest.
Sawyer and Kelsea are two complex characters that have a very complicated relationship. Can they overcome their differences and find happiness or will their past experiences and fears keep them apart?
This is a very interesting and exciting story. Sawyer is a man made billionaire and a workaholic. Kelsea is a lively and inspiring lady who attracts Sawyer 's attention. Can the two of them become friends or more?
This is a very clean and engaging romance novel with a good storyline. It is not my usual style as I enjoy the novels with the steamy action, but it kept me interested and I ultimately enjoyed the experience.
This is Kelsey and Sawyer's story. Both friends of Lauren and Luke. They meet for the first time at the day before the Gala the charity that Kelsey is doing for her friends. The each have past hurts and scars but they also have a Love to transend time.
What could be worse than a boring rich woman who wants to win you in an auction? That is where Sawyer is, but how to get out of it? Good clean romance.
He's a billionaire who would love to find someone to love. She's a party planner who is sweet and ethnic but she has been hurt and can they learn to trust.
Sawyer didn’t want a birthday party, much less a date for it. He just hadn’t met Kelsea yet. Rachael Eliker keeps you guessing on whether Sawyer will get the girl. I enjoyed the interplay between them and the facing of their demons and insecurities. A very enjoyable book.
