I love Machito Gomi's style! This book adapts 6 episodes of the show to the manga format and it delivers! It's a great gift for fans of the franchise as well, I recommend both the first and this second volume!

Continue the adventures of Ash and Goh. This time, Ash is on the losing end of a Coronation Series to Goh coming close to capturing Zapdos.

It was okay. Similarly to my previous review the biggest problem is that this manga series tends to skip a lot of the story between chapters. I have watched Pokemon Journey's anime (at least partially), so I can somehow reconstruct the story, but if someone starts with this manga, it's going to be a challenge to keep up with the flow.
I doubt it's going to change, so I'm not having many expectations of the following two volumes.

Much less interested in worldbuilding and character development, unlike the first, this one maintains the clear style and setting but doesn’t do much more than battles. Even Jack and Claire only found it somewhat interesting.

In dem Band gab's viele Kämpfe, sowohl gegen wilde Pokémon, als auch gegen Trainer und Arenaleiter. Ash will sich an den Krönungs- Weltmeisterschaften versuchen und so fährt er einige Siege ein, aber gibt's auch mal Niederlagen - davon lassen sich er und seine Pokémon aber nicht unterkriegen. Also weiter trainieren! Unterdessen fängt Goh weiter fleißig Pokémon und versucht dies auch bei Zapdos (liebe Zapdos 💛⚡).
