Can Malia and Jaden find the Sphinx before they exterminate humanity?
A mysterious entity known only as “The Sphinx” is planning to exterminate humanity. But who—and where are they? And how—and when will they carry out their plans? Can Malia and Jaden find them before it’s too late?
I loved this book but dropped my rating due to the narrator. I found her voice very monotone and it made the reading hard to listen to. I hope the next books are read by the narrator from the previous books. Chelsea Stephen’s is a great narrator and I don’t know why this book was read by a different person. I must admit I was very close to returning the book to Audible and only the fact that I love the series made me preserve with it.
People flying like Superman, mind-control & telekinesis like a Jedi, plus Martians, Grey's and the aliens who built Atlantis!
Another good read from Ken Warner that's enjoyable even for some adults. The whole series is good, especially for young teens close to the age of the Kwan twins. This series taps into our innate desire to be special and be a part of something that is significant - to have unique powers. Think Superheroes, The Force, Harry Potter and so on. These books are in that vein, though perhaps not in that league. I'm in my 60s and I'm enjoying these books. Of course, I haven't given up on acquiring super powers!
The Riddle of the Sphinx (The Kwan Thrillers Book 5), my eleventh read from author Ken Warner. After reading his Scroll of the Five Masters, five book series I knew I was reading an epic in the making so I jumped at the chance to read and review another of his books. I felt lost in reading this book & it wasn't until I was writing the review & discovered I'd missed book 4. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Could things get anymore exciting? I’m sitting here, it’s nearly midnight and I’m just about to start book 6. I just can’t put these books down. Talk about a thrill ride. Martians, spaceships, a virus that will wipe out all of humanity, and two kids who have powers you wouldn’t believe, fighting to save the day…again and again. I need some coffee because I doubt I will get to sleep just yet.
Gave a review on the first book in such the series it was five stars
Now I am giving another review and it is ten stars not just for the books but for the entire series (with more to come I'm told) what a wonderful exciting four days of reading the time couldn't have been better spent, THANK you Ken Warner for an intense and enjoyable read. Dan
Loved this book a continuation of the other stories and characters who saved mankind from anhilation.an easy read with some science but not to much to be drawn out and boring. I am usually a paranormal junkie but this was a very different theme which appealed to my Star Trek imagination.
Mr Warner lays out his stories in an easy but gripping way that has you speeding through the books, ready to charge into the next one. I pulled one star back for the alien characters use of common human/English phrases that seemed a little out of place for such advanced civilizations.
It’s been a while since a read one of the Kwan series so I really enjoyed returning to the ongoing saga. The scientific detail satisfies my nerdiness and action packed plot lines keep me engaged. If anything, I find some steps of the plot are glazed over too quickly.
I decided to revisit this series after getting annoyed with it. It took me a while to finish the book, it didn’t keep my attention like the other ones..
But It had an ending!!!! It took 5 books to at least have some sort of conclusion.
The author still annoyed me though by changing one of the characters name only in the chapter name. Just dumb.
This has been a very enjoyable series so far through 5 books. Some big picture things can be predictable, but otherwise there's a lot of shock and surprises happening. I won't go into plot details and try to convince anyone to read this because if you have already gone through 4 books, you aren't stopping.
An excellent sci-fi thriller with a great storyline and well developed likeable characters. A very enjoyable page turning read with plenty of action and suspense. Very well written book and series that I would highly recommend.
I thought that after a while I would get tired of the concept of aliens, alien abductions and super powers. I was wrong, if anything this version appears to be the best so far.
This was the best by far, excellent, surprisingly enjoyable and very entertaining
As I read this very well written Book 5, it was like a movie in my mind. I couldn't put it down, I hadn't realized I was at the end, very entertaining, can't wait for what's going to happen next.
Majestic has been beaten. For now all is calm. Isis is still out there and is probably planning her next move. Could take months or years but she will return with a vengeance.
Boring. Just change the names of the “Gods” and the good guys and the bad guys and each book is the same. Someone gets kidnapped, killed, etc by the bad guys . Stolen technology. Etc. Sorry I spent $40 on this series. .
The story line is dragging in this series and the writing is not engaging. There is so much potential in this storyline but this book does motive up to it
