From the beginning of time, God endowed people with His creative power, intending for them to rule and steward over all the earth.
But Satan—once heaven’s most beautiful and creative angel—convinced Adam and Eve that the fruit from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil would give them a power that they already had. The moment that they ate the fruit, they handed their authority over to Satan. Oppression ruled the world; instead of the luminosity of heaven’s pattern advancing through the planet, creeping darkness took hold.
The enemy knows the highly effective powers of creativity all too well. Despite being cut off from its divine origin, he uses it with vigor to effectively communicate his counterfeit and repetitive message across the world.
Creative Fusion follows the interlinking tabernacle pattern of God laid out from Genesis through Revelation to provide Christians with the answers to reclaim the Lord’s creative energy and His DNA that He placed within us.
Author Charity Bowman-Webb wants readers to discover the magnificent wisdom in Scripture that will help them influence every area of society and harvest souls for God’s kingdom.
First off, I love the cover art of this book – riding the wave! What a reminder that we’ve been made in the image of God, and how we are always pointing to Jesus!
“Creation is a connection between heaven and earth, a meeting place that reveals to us a profusion of details about God’s character.”
“Creativity was originally intended to be a hallmark of all believers, regardless of calling and commission. Through Scripture – from Genesis to Revelation, from inception to completion – runs a powerful, diving pattern represented by the tabernacle that reveals seven layers, built in succession, of the creative power God intended for His church to employ. Creative Fusion travels this path, seeking answers for modern times and unearthing the spiritual weaponry and creative innovation we believers require in order to fulfill the Great Commission and gather a bountiful harvest of souls.” CREATIVE FUSION
The past couple months the Lord has been giving me encounters in the Spirit during prayer, and afterwards it has lead me into further research to understand the pictures (metaphors) that He’s shown me, you can find them here. I’ve not been shown how to do this, so I’ve just been trusting the process of learning in the Spirit and growing in my relationship and I’ve been learning my identity in Him. I was absolutely thrilled as I was reading every page in this book, and it was such a confirmation as I was highlighting every word. I really loved this phrase from the book, “God’s chosen form of communication is often metaphorical; the quest is for us to learn his language. (As we do this), we begin a deepening journey of incomprehensible friendship with the Creator of the Universe.”
This book is such an encouragement of prophetic creative restoration that is a very timely read in this season. I cannot recommend it enough! The author has masterfully woven together creativity and the biblical pattern of the tabernacle in this book. If you are seeking to touch our culture with God’s Kingdom, and want to bring Heaven down through creativity… this book will bless you immensely as it has me!
For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. ROMANS 8:19
I was given a complimentary copy of the book by the author and Celebrate Lit and these opinions are my own.
Creative Fusion by Charity Bowman Webb is a must read for Christian creatives, but it is also a must read for all Christians. Don’t let the title fool you. This is not a book only aimed at those who have careers or hobbies in what we traditionally know as “the arts”; things like writing, painting, drama, photography, singing and dancing. This is a book aimed at all of God’s creations, who He instilled his inherhent creativity in at the moment of their conception.
The book is a reminder that God implanted creativity in all of us and not only those of us in “the arts.” Webb uses passages in the Bible to show that we are creative beings because we were created by the ultimate creator. That creativity can be used in whatever field God has placed us in — teaching, construction, law enforcement, motherhood, the ministry, whatever. It isn’t only reserved for photography, writing, dancing, painting, or acting. The very act of using our brain to find solutions in any aspect of our life is an example of the creativity which God instilled in us, according to Webb.
One of the main messages of the book is that we are creating together with God and for God to bring honor to him.
“Co-creation with God enables us to become personally involved in the process of stretching spiritual capacity as the Holy Spirit multiplies our skill and magnifies our understanding,” Webb writes. “Our willingness to learn from God can open a kaleidoscope of communications.”
Creative Fusion is a well-thought out, well-written message to anyone, of any age and even of any faith, that God instilled creativity in us so that we can create in tandem with him.
“We were never meant to create alone,” she writes. “All the education in the world could never be enough to form anything of eternal value. Many people have strived with excessive effort to produce something of unique wroth. Yet when such endeavors are pursued by people disconnected from God, their efforts can be their undoing. . . . But when we learn to co-create in collaboration with the Creator, the journey becomes excitingly personal.”
The book is stuffed from front to back with encouragement, advice, but most of all with the painting of a vivid picture of what life can be like if we create with God in every facet of our life.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This is a tricky book for me to review because while I get the author’s intention, I didn’t agree with her on a lot of things. However, I think it also has a lot to do with how I’ve been taught as a Christian and the fact that I consider myself a cessationist, and this book is probably not one that cessationists would get a lot out of because it talks a lot about dreams and visions that happen today. So with that in mind, it was hard for me to read Creative Fusion, and uncomfortable at times because it challenged my predispositions on those subject matters. It’s not my place to say whether the author is wrong because it could very well be that I am wrong, but it is something I want to study for myself, especially in Scripture.
Again, I did appreciate the author’s intent, as someone who considers herself a creative person, I would agree that the Church needs to be more open when it comes to the arts and not just that which is produced by Pureflix. However, I did not agree with a lot of the points she made to back up her ideas. But I would like to share a few quotes that I really liked and agreed with, as well as a couple that made me think too:
“The combinations of a person’s callings, gifts, and skills can result in many unexpected outcomes, that God uses for His glory” (Loc. 310).
“Dependency on God will cause continued exploration, which, in turn, will produce extraordinary advances for good upon the earth.” (Loc. 446).
“To reduce the aesthetic arts, beauty, and other creative areas as second-class citizens in God’s kingdom makes no sense if one considers the full breadth of Scripture” (Loc. 1470).
Overall, while I agreed with the author’s intent, there was a lot that I disagreed with her on. However, this book wasn’t for me, but I don’t think it is the author’s fault, but rather my own presuppositions on something like spiritual gifts.

This book gives us insight into how God made each of us to be creative. I know when I think of that word, I immediately think of artists. However this book shows us that we are each created to be creative with the gifts that God has given us. I like how the author starts at the beginning and unpacks Genesis and how it all began. God created everything so that we may be His disciples. He wants the best for us and wants us to be confident as we go into the World.
I enjoyed reading about the Tabernacle and the different Biblical people with scripture and illustrations. There is a lot of information within the pages and I learned quite a bit that I was not aware of. I like books that open my eyes to the Bible in a fresh way and guides me to dig deeper into the Word of God.
The author does caution readers about how the enemy can turn our creativity to evil. The entertainment industry has an overwhelming way to reach many people across the world. We as Christians need to be cautious as we do creative things in this area. It is easy to fall prey to the enemy if we are not covered with prayer and keeping our eyes on God. I’m glad that we have Christian authors that give us books to entertain us and teach us without wavering from His Word.
This book made me think about the fashion industry, technology, music and so many other areas where the enemy can slip in and turn our creativity away from God. When he places us in these different areas, we have the opportunity to represent Him and turn what the enemy wants to use for evil into good. I like how the author reminds us that we all are creative and to use discernment when opportunities arise.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
First thought, the cover is chaotic. To me, this is not a draw. I am a very orderly person and like everything to have a place and be in its place. In contrast, my house is often chaotic because of the number of people living here and how small it is.
I think this was a well-written book. However, it’s not a book I would pick up again and read nor is it one I would have chosen on my own to read without being offered it for a review.
I do think that creative people will love this book. I do not consider myself creative. The most creative I get is by having babies and letting God create through me. However, this book did call me out on that statement and show me ways that even I can create for God.
Not a book I hated but not also one that I truly loved. A good read but not one I would read again. We are all created in the image of God and this book chats about that as well.
This is an author I’d love to sit and chat with though. I could see some amazing discussions being had between the two of us.
I have voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from Celebrate Lit. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. This was an interesting book and nothing of what I thought it would be from looking at the cover and reading the summary. So don't let it fool you like it did me. This is not a book just for the creative people or those in the "arts". In this book the author reminds us that God has placed creativity in all of us and it may not look the same for everybody. She makes sure to back her thoughts with scripture which I enjoy because there are some non-fiction authors that like to spout their ideas and theology and do not back it with the Word.
God is an amazing God and the fact that He has made us with the creativity to do the job He himself has appointed us to do is no mere coincidence. It is amazing the things we can do if only we make sure that we place God in the center of it all.
If you enjoy books that are encouraging and give you those "aha" moments then I definitely recommend you pick this one up.

Creative Fusion is written by Charity Bowman Webb. I have not read anything by her in the past, and I really enjoyed this book. This book focuses on creativity. The author notes "One of the most vital gifts that God has given his church". Which is not something that I have ever really thought about before. The author goes on to tell us how throughout the whole Bible of the layers of Creative power that God intended for his Church.
Each chapter will open with a scripture reference, then the author will unpack the topic along with matching the opening scripture to it. She will share personal experiences. This book tied in with a lot of other things that God is telling me.
The author writes beautifully. All of the writing flows nicely together. I enjoyed reading this book. This would be a good book to read with a small group.
I received a copy of this book through the Celebrate Lit Blogging Program, all thoughts are my own.
Creative Fusion: Merging Kingdom Strategies to Impact Our World" by Charity Bowman Webb is a interesting book. It is filled with lots of Scriptural references and lots of examples from her own life. I really liked learning about the different things about the tabernacle. Here is a quote from the book that I hope encourages you to read the book for yourself " Each of us is born a unique collection of component parts, and it is up to us to connect those with God in a coalition of humanity and Spirit. This union results in new expressions of the creative DNA He has placed inside us, whether through prayer or pottery, veterinary medicine or ventriloquism, speech therapy or rocket science. Every contribution we make to our culture, when we're connection to the ultimate Creator, releases light, restoring and regenerating the world while causing the darkness to recode."

This book isn’t long so can easily be read in an afternoon, but you will probably want to take time to consider the information the author presents and see how it resonates with you and how to apply these principles in your own life. I identify with the fact that God created people with creativity so we can co-create with Him. I have certainly experienced this and the joy such activity brings. The author gives us a more spiritual perspective of this creative practice. I like the title, which expresses this well—it’s a fusion between us and our Creator. The book is divided into four sections, beginning in Genesis and moving through the Bible and into human history and our own lives. The author encourages us to put this into practice as God intended. It promotes joy and worship in the process. She also uses Scriptures to support her text. I received a copy from Celebrate Lit. All opinions are my own.
If you did not have any background in this area and hadn't read other books around the subject then this is an excellent book to provide a historical context for creativity within the Christian faith and how we can impact our world as well to consider the topic in more detail. Charity is very passionate about the topic and takes the reader along on the journey. For anyone who does not know the Old Testament well this will open your eyes to aspects you have not been taught before and help you understand some of the less commonly read parts of the Bible. I had previously read Charity's pervious book 'Limitless', which gives a lot of background to creativity, how Christians can impact our world in all aspects of life plus also covers a lot of the historical aspects from the Old Testament in the Bible, so for me there was some repetition between the two books. I also felt more of the book could have been about the strategies and how to put things into practice.
Creative Fusion: Merging Kingdom Strategies to Impact Our World is an interesting read by Charity Bowman Webb. I liked how she was able to help remind myself how I must trust in God. I found it to be encouraging and very relevant for present times to read. It really helped me have a new perspective and vision on the church. It really made me think and found it to be stimulating.
I am giving Creative Fusion: Merging Kingdom Strategies to Impact Our World four and a half stars. I recommend it for readers who enjoy reading influential and inspirational books based on Scripture. I would be interested in reading like this from Charity Bowman Webb in the future.
I received a copy of Creative Fusion: Merging Kingdom Strategies to Impact Our World from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.
"Creative Fusion" by Charity Bowman-Webb illustrates how God is the ultimate creator. With rich imagery, powerful Scriptural references, and personal reflection by the author, this book encourages the reader to think. She illustrates the power of the Holy Spirit. From the seven days of creation to Moses, David, Solomon, Jesus, humanity, and the Restoration of All Things, this book takes the reader on a powerful journey.
The author does an excellent job of bringing God, His creation, and His Creativity to life. As I read this book, the mental images I experienced made me appreciate the author's attention to detail. I would love to read more books by this author. So check out this book for yourself.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, but this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
I admit that when I think of creative, I think of artists of different kinds. The author shows us that it isn't just that. She takes us through the Bible and shows how God was creative and we are made in his image.
There are personal experiences throughout and scriptures. I just like the way the author lays it all out and makes it fell logical. As I read it, things felt like they started to click and I really enjoyed reading through the book. Overall, I think it is a good book to share with friends and family in church.
4/5
Thank you to the author/publisher for the review copy of this book via Celebrate Lit. I received this book in exchange for an honest review and the opinions stated above are 100% mine.
Creative Fusion is a uniquely written book that tackles a Biblical perspective on creativity and how we as Christians can apply it to whatever calling it is that God may have placed on us. While based on the description alone, it might not have been one that I would have initially picked out for myself, it turned out to be an interesting read. This is a well written read packed full of a good blend of personal insight as well as lots of scriptural references as well. This is definitely a intriguing read that will give you a good deal to think about too.
**I received a complimentary copy for consideration. All thoughts are my own.
This is such an encouraging book to pick up and read! I know that I really appreciated the message of the book, as Charity Bowman-Webb does a wonderful job of helping the reader to look at the big picture and how the scriptures show us that picture. I loved the theme of being creative. My children and I are going through Genesis at the moment, so it was neat to see how this book fit in with what we are reading and learning. I highly recommend picking up a copy of this book!
