Thanatos, god of death, has a mission: scour the unknown realms of the Underworld and retrieve the only daughter of his god-king, Hades. Murdered six centuries ago and her soul captured before it could pass on, she now falls under Thanatos’s domain. Armed with only a description of the location of her prison seen in a vision by her oldest brother, Thanatos has spent four years hunting for her, determined to complete his task and save her.
But when he locates Calindria, she’s not the delicate little girl he remembers—she’s a fierce, bewitching and beautiful warrioress who stirs unwanted feelings in his black heart and she’s on a mission of her own.
Calindria, daughter of Hades, has a mission: escape her prison, hunt down the ones who murdered her twin brother, and then make her family pay for abandoning her. But the Fates have other plans, placing a distractingly gorgeous god of death in her path—a warrior who is determined to convince her that what she believed is the truth is in fact a lie.
In a realm that turns memories against them and where anything can be an illusion, can Calindria and Thanatos learn to trust each other enough to work together to escape the hellish domain, or will the darkest moments of their past prove too powerful to overcome?

Just when you thought things were looking up for the boys in the Underworld, the truth that Calindria did NOT die as everyone thought drops on them. While it seems like a good thing on the surface, the fact no one knew where she was being held (or how ANY of this had happened in the first place) makes it a tough pill to swallow. So Hades sent Thanatos to track her down and, well, he's been toiling at that task for a while now.
Not going to lie, Calindria is a hot mess of epic proportions. Tormented and held captive in a realm that continually uses her worst fears against her, she's not in a great place (either physically, mentally, or emotionally) when Thanatos stumbles over her. On the plus side, she (accidentally) figured out she has a pretty powerful ability. On the down side, she's kind of terrified she'll kill anyone she's around since she absolutely doesn't know how to control said power. Yeah, she has some things to deal with. Not the least of which is being held captive and thinking the worst of her family for several centuries.
Meanwhile, Thanatos has to deal with his own issues (of which he is a champion avoider) while trying to get Calindria to safety. Everything from the critters in the realm to the bad guys trying to get her back make things as difficult as possible for him. Plus, his champion avoiding abilities mean his issues rear their ugly heads at the WORST possible moments.
A little backstabbing, more than a little danger, a whole lot of baggage on both Thanatos and Calindria's parts, and some steamy moments they manage to steal between the dangerous times. As a bonus, there are THINGS afoot that look to bring more chaos to the family in the future. *thumbs up*
THANATOS is the eighth book in the Guardians of Hades series and the final one of this series... I think! There is mention of them returning (which I can't wait for) but whether it will be a separate series or not, well, I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
Calindria has been thought dead for six centuries, and the woman she is now is very different from the girl she once was. She has a power over nature, and a power over death, both of them out of control. She needs time and peace to learn to control them, not so easy when you're in a very dodgy realm trying to escape with your life. Luckily for her, Thanatos is on hand to help, although he also comes with his own issues.
This was a brilliant book. I was hooked from the very first page. Calindria is a great character, being both soft and hard when necessary. My heart broke for Thanatos' history, and I'm glad they were both able to work through it. The pacing is perfect - not too fast or slow. Instead, you are whisked away on an adventure with some steamy moments.
The world-building in this story also deserves a mention. It was so descriptively written, it felt real when they were talking about having certain powers dampened or completely gone.
A fantastic end to this series while still leaving me wanting more. I do think it should be titled Calindria though, not Thanatos! LOL Absolutely brilliant, and highly recommended by me.

Calindria wants to escape her cage, it’s been her home for as long as she can remember. Once free of her cage she’s going to find the killer of her twin! And then she’s going to make her family pay for abandoning her!
This is the book I’ve wanted for ages. Once we knew about the long lost daughter, we waited for snippets or details of her. The brothers had assumed their sister was killed and lost her soul to Thanatos. But that’s not the case. After fighting demons, sorcerers and witches, they now know she wasn’t killed, but in fact taken! Desperate to find her, their father Hades asks the one being that knows the underworld almost as well as he does.....
Thanatos Is the King of death. His duty is to escort souls into the afterlife, and he’s never failed! Swearing to find the missing daughter of Hades King of the underworld and his queen Persephone. But finding her is proving most difficult! And after four long years of searching, he’s still no closer to his goal!
This book was packed full of emotions! Sadness, both Calindria and Thanatos have been abandoned by their families, both feel lost and alone. Anger at all the lost time they have wasted in not connecting with their loved ones, being left to just get on with it! Fear of rejection at every turn has made both Calindria and Thanatos wary of trusting someone. Pain from the many scars they both carry, both physical and mental! No wonder these two are so suited to one another. But can Thanatos convince Calindria that her family have never given up on her? And can he help her find the young cheery person she once was?
After Calindria escapes her prison she meets Thanatos, she vaguely remembers him. Not believing his version of events, Calindria hopes to use this god to help her exact revenge and retribution. How the hell is she expected to believe that her twin is alive and her family have been searching for her for centuries?! She’s only known her version of events for 600 years! She’s not going to just take the word of Thanatos.
Going back to Hades is going to prove challenging. The land they are in turns truth into lies, and keeps throwing obstacles in their path. And that’s not to mention the feeling they are being followed!!
Along the way animosity turns to attraction, he knows that Hades will kill him if he so much as touches his daughter let alone kiss her! But spending time with Calindria has Thanatos wanting more than his soulless servants waiting for his return. Calindria also sees Thanatos in a different light, he’s darkness like her, he understands her better than anyone else could ever understand her, why? Once he had been captured and abused, so he understands her frustration.
Finding out about each other is just part of this story, we have great action moments, hilarious moments that will have you chuckling, and sad parts that will have you grabbing for a tissue. Descriptions of fantastical beasts that want you for their next meal. And a slow burn romance that goes up in flames and sets the pages alight.
Finding the balance between action and romance is tricky, but this author does it with ease and style. Each story in this series has added a layer to the bigger picture.
Because not only are we looking for a lost daughter, we are also on the hunt for traitors! These want Hades’s kingdom for themselves, a war is being waged! And it’s not over yet!
Would I recommend this book? I certainly would, you could probably read it without knowing the background, but why would you? Why would you miss the adventures the brothers have? Why would you want to miss the moment they realise they could all be reunited?
And now we wait for the highly anticipated book in the series.... Hades 🤗

THANATOS is the eighth instalment in Felicity Heaton’s adult GUARDIANS OF HADES erotic, paranormal/fantasy series focusing on the children of Hades. This is Thanatos, god of death, and Calindria, daughter of Hades’ story line.THANATOS can be read as a stand alone but for back story and cohesion, I recommend reading the series in order as there is a continuing premise throughout.
NOTE: The Guardians of Hades series is Felicity Heaton’s interpretation of, and does not follow, the actual Greek mythological family tree or events.
Told from dual third person perspective (Thanatos and Calindria) THANATOS follows the search and rescue of our story line heroine. Calindria, daughter of Hades, is missing and presumed dead for close to six hundred years but Thanatos has made it his mission to locate the missing goddess, one way or another, as she is presumed to be held captive in the realm of the death. Calindria’s brother ‘saw’ our heroine in an apparition, and the brothers are desperate to rescue the sister they hadn’t seen in hundreds of years. Before Thanatos is able to ‘free’ our story line heroine, Calindria discovers that she is not without some power of her own. What ensues is the quick building relationship between Thanatos and Calindria, and the potential fall-out as Thanatos offers himself up in return for Calindria’s freedom.
The relationship between Thanatos and Calindria is one of immediate attraction but Thanatos believes he is unworthy of love; the darkness from his past refuses to let go. Meanwhile, Calindria’s newfound powers threaten any chance of a possible relationship, powers that she has yet to learn to control. As our couple journey towards freedom, Calindria discovers that Thanatos may be the male, especially for her. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
All of the previous story line couples make cameo appearances, as well as Hades and Persephone, and the demi-goddess Harleena.
THANATOS is a story of introspection and reflection as our couple meander the underworld searching for a portal home. Thanatos believes he is tainted by his past, shamed by the actions he was forced to perform. Calindria bears her own scars for the centuries trapped by an unknown force. The premise is entertaining and inviting; the romance is provocative; the characters are broken but struggling to heal.
I love this series. It has characters from Greek mythology, mystery, and romance. This is the eighth book in the Guardians of Hades series. About a group of brothers and their long-lost sister, that are sent to Earth to guard the Gates to the Hell Realm. This book is about Calindria, that long, thought to be lost sister and her hero, Thanatos. Thanatos has been sent by Hades to search all the realms in hell that no one knows to try and find his thought to be dead daughter, Calindria. The last anyone seen of her was her brother when they were both caught by their enemies, and everyone thought the Calindria had died. They were so wrong. She has been held captive for so many centuries that she has almost forgotten everything and everyone that she loves. She believes that her family betrayed and forgot about her for these past centuries, but that is so not true. Her family have been searching for her all this time and will not give up. So, they enlist the help of Thanatos, the God of Death to search for her. Thanatos is determined to find her for his God King, Hades. Along the way they both learn to trust each other, although that is extremely hard for each of them, and they find out that they have a lot in common. The road to their HAP is paved with trials and missteps, but in the end the make it. Thanatos in my opinion could not have been a better pick for Calindria to fall in love with.
My only complaint about this book, is that I personally did not like the way it ended so soon. To me there was some stuff that seemed to be missing, I have read all the Guardians of Hades Series and know that each of the brothers and Hades and Persephone all had a reason to think it was their fault that Calindria was missing and the struggles that they all with thru with that, I just was hoping for more interaction with the family when they found Calindira. My only complaint. Sorry, Ms. Felicity.
I love this series. And I can’t wait for the next book in the series (I HOPE, I HOPE). I would definitely recommend this book and all the books in this series to friends and family and have already.
Well now, the god of Death hasn't looked so good right? Welcome, Thanatos Book 8 of the Guardians of Hades series. The series was already amazing and Felicity added another hottie in the mix and boy yeah it's a mix.
We find a very angry, very being the important word that Calindria is feeling and it's only one of a few emotions she had to deal with. Now you ask who is she? ah well, she's special and has been mourned for longer than Hades and the rest of the family can remember. What a shock to one's system to find out your long-dead daughter is alive, you just don't know where. Old papa sends one of his best to find his long thought dead now not dead daughter.
Death - did he really think upon finding her she'd still be the "little" girl he knew? *shakes head* Thanatos, let me tell you, talk about jaded. One of the things he does well is avoiding looking too close to his sexy self, cuz dang he's slightly broken and won't admit it.
The Warrior - remember me mentioning very angry? Hades' daughter is set on a path of revenge, all her anger and hatred directed at daddy's dearest and the rest of the clan, and making them pay is her ultimate goal.
When they run into each other the fates all but sing their own glory and decided to give them both a "helping" hand. Not an easy task cuz the feels, neither is trying to be all like that. In a realm where what you think, feel and hope is twisted into some dark-rooted tree that keeps on growing more malignant.
Step again into Felicity's Guardian of Hades world, where what you think may not really be what you think and you're on the go with people who want you back at whatever cost. Enjoy
I have been so excited to hear Calindra’s story after we were hinted at in the brother’s books The Guardians of Hades books. if you haven’t read the brothers’ stories, you can still read Thanatos, but it’s so much better to have an understanding of her back story, especially with her twin Callistos.
Calindra has been kept captive for centuries by someone she doesn’t even know. Her memories are also fuzzy. as far as she is aware it is her family’s fault she is where she is! Her brothers and parents had assumed her dead, until they learned that her soul never passed, and she is actually alive. on this news Hades sends Thanatos, the god of death, to find her and bring her back to her family.
being a Felicity Heaton book, we are treated to plenty of action and damaged souls, as Thanatos and Calindra slowly learn to trust each other as they make their way out of Hell.
I loved seeing how Calindra differs from how her brothers remember her. She is no longer this trusting, innocent but not has a darker power that she struggles to control. Thanatos also has to learn to trust again, as being taken advantage of, helping to spawn the necromancers without his consent.
I would have liked a bit more of how Calindra got to where she was now, and would have loved to see her brothers a bit more, but that’s simply me loving them so much :) Hades story is coming out at the end of the year and I hope we get to see Calindra master her powers and finally be with her family again.
Wonderful loved it and assure that you will not put it down till the end Thanatos is who this particular book concerns and as the daughter of Hades she is been a task and a half actually trying to locate where she is. Calandria is fierce and no shrinking violet she fights every step of the way and is a warrior in her own right. She is only concerned with one thing and one thing alone and that is to seek retribution by discovering who it was that had her twin brother killed and then when she made them pay dearly by ensuring they suffered dearly until they take their final breath at her hands. However, Thanatos has other ideas and is determined to prevent her from taking lives in retribution for her murdered sibling and he knows that she is basing much of her plans on deceit but will he be able to talk her round, it is highly unlikely but he will try. This was a different read but as with the previous books the interaction between the gods is simply wonderful and I am sure that you will be blown away by this read., another great book with wonderful plot and characters. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
Thanatos is the God of death. He has been sent by Hades to find his daughter, who everyone in the family had believed dead for centuries. He has his own nightmares to face in the realm he is searching. He knows exactly what captivity is like.
Calindria is the daughter of Hades and watched as her twin was murdered and her family deserted her. Caged for centuries, she is desperate to escape, and has vengeance in mind. Will the power she has recently found within herself free her or seperate her even more from those she loves?
Our heroine has spent so much time in this realm of lies that she's not certain what is truth.
Our hero closed himself away from everyone because if he doesn't let them close they can't hurt him. That is not going to work on this rescue mission.
An action packed paranormal romance with lots of fierce battles. This author has a particular talent for these fight scenes. We can almost feel each blow and duck to avoid them. The "World" she has created is one I'm happy to visit when I can hide behind her characters. I wouldn't want to visit on my own though. The hero is huge, sexy and everything any woman could want. The heroine is just as strong and sexy and can rescue her man when needed.
So Thanatos has come up a few times in the Guardians of Hades series, so when it was announced that he was getting his own book I was totally there for it. Now if you have read the series so far, you will know that Calindria, Callistos' twin sister was meant to have died, but she is in fact not dead. Hades has tasked the Lord of Death, Thanatos with finding her. She's actually been held captive for centuries.
I absolutely adored this book, and I am loving Thanatos so much. I really enjoyed the scenes we've had with him previously so the fact he got his own book was epic. I honestly didn't know this series could get better, but this book was so good. It's a bit of a rollercoaster journey for Thanatos and Calindria because of their past experiences. Neither really trusts other people, which isn't surprising, to be honest, but they are thrust together whilst they make the trek to exit the kingdom they have found themselves in.
The whole world the author has created is amazing, and she fills it with such intriguing characters that you can't help but want to discover more about them. I for one am really excited for the next book.
I am absolutely loving this series. This is Thanatos the God of Death's story and the lost daughter of Hades Calindria. This is one series in my opinion you must follow in order. Calindria's back story begins in Ares and its heartbreaking. Thanatos starts were Keras ended, Thanatos has been giving the most important assignment from Hades to find his daughter's soul and bring her home. Thanatos will have his work cut out for him because Calindria is more than just a soul she is powerful beautiful Goddess who has been caged for centuries. Calindria has been held caprive, she has been told lies and she seeks revenge. God of Death has come to bring her home, they will go on an adventure. They discover they are very similar both have demons they need to put to rest and to learn to trust eachother. I loved the vulnerability in these two characters as well as the strength and drive to over come their faults. Heaton has written a beautiful love story filled with tears, laughter, angst and ahhs. I personally can't wait for Hades. Happy Reading!
We've had the boy's stories now it's time for Calindria, daughter of Hades!
Assumed dead and bitter for being left, she wants revenge - not surprising really after hundreds of years locked away! Enter Thanatos, he has been sent to find the lost daughter of Hades.
Who to start with.... Calindria, she is quite well balanced for being captive for so long, she's all grown up in body but I felt she needed to grow emotionally, as she came across as childish in parts - even though she had reasons to be pissed. I'm pleased to report she does grow.
Thanatos, is a God of Death, he assesses souls on their way out, he has wings and can fight. He also has issues he needs to deal with. A big problem is his attraction to the strong-willed Calindria.
The majority of this book focuses on Calindria and Thanatos which I really like as there's lots of character and relationship building.
I found their story was one full of all the good things you want in a paranormal romance and there was a pull between the characters which ended up with some heated scenes.
I'm intrigued to see what the next book in this series is about as I thought that was everyone paired up?
This could be read as a standalone, but I don't recommend that. You really need to read the whole series.
Hades God king of the Underworld, had a daughter. Whom 6 centuries ago was kidnapped and murdered by his enemies.
Now centuries later Hades discovers that his daughter may not be dead after all, so he sends his strongest warrior Thanatos to find her.
It takes a while but Thanatos does find Calindria, but not until she has managed to escape her captors.
Two very entrusting souls, must learn to trust each other to survive.
Calindria whom had been a prisoner in a cage for centuries and Thanatos whom managed to escape his own personal prison. Calindria has developed her own special powers over which she has almost no control.
Being able to turn someone to ashes just with her touch is a little worrying, for that to spread to anyone near is just frightening.
A powerful story of learning to trust another and to fall in love.
Absolutely loved this one! I’m so down with the premise for Thanatos and Calindria’s story! If you’ve read the previous books, you know Calindria is the sister thought dead for almost 6 centuries, but it turns out she has been held prisoner. Calindria’s father, Hades, has tasked God of Death Thanatos with finding her; got to love a good-looking, winged, chiseled man. Thanatos and Calindria end up on a trek through a less than pleasant realm; danger and evil follow these two. Lots of fun action and such an amazing connection between Thanatos and Calindria! Both have had to deal with some really damaging things, but both show such great strength. I loved how their connection develops; the dual POV is great for getting to know each of the characters. Very entertaining story! Passionate romance! Super excited for the next book!
A NEW HOT MALE LEAD AND BADASS FEMALE LEAD BY FELICITY HEATON
Another book on Guardians of Hades Series is out...
I already loved all the sons of Hades but... Thanatos is the number 1 (as of now 😂).
I really love this book - the story, the plots, the characters and how the characters improve thru the story.
If you want a mind-blowing story then try Thanatos. I'm very sure that you will never disappointed.
Another masterpiece by Felicity Heaton. More stories to come and more love 😘💞
Can't wait for the last book of Guardians of Hades Series - Hades own story ❤️
A bit spoiler...
For the last chapter: I really love the last part because as you read the story, you understand the choices they make (the characters). Please wait for Hades story, I'm sure we will see the interaction of the Family.
I loved this book and think this has been my favourite so far, after Daimon,
We’d met Thanatos in a couple of other books in the series and I was immediately drawn to his dark character, and was really excited at the end of Keres when it looked like we’d be seeing more of him. We’d also learned a lot about Calindria too, so I guessed that she would be his love match.
What I liked about this book was it was so different from the rest of the series, and it really tackled with some dark issues, and how the characters learned to overcome them.
I also loved the way that it ended, and felt it realistic giving the background to the two main characters.
I will thoroughly recommend this book, and it can be read as a standalone, if you’ve not read the rest of the series, but I’d recommend reading the other books first.
Finally the story I have long waited for and Ms Heaton definitely brought the action, the heat and all the feels and attention grabbing greatness that only she can. There a enough kick and sass to make this latest installment an absolute must read. The drama, the angst, touches of romance, the quest for answers, the fight for revenge and longing for trust. All headlined by Thanatos and Calindria, a woman not quite what he expected, but it surely what he needed. She is no shrinking violet and her presence along with Thanatos gives this story depth, vibrancy and thrills that’s engaging and enticingly fun to read. They have their work cut out for them in this read. Will they rise above all to ensure the safety of those they love. Read and find out. You won’t be disappointed. There is enough heart pounding excitement and suspense to make this an intense and riveting read.
This is the 8th book in the series! I highly recommend reading them in order so nothing gets spoiled for you too early. You will not be disappointed! As always Felicity Heaton's supernatural writing is wonderful. Every time I read her books they take me into another world and I never want them to end. This book is no different it's engaging, romantic, steamy, and action-packed! This book is about the God of Death Thanatos and his mission to find Calindria physically or her soul. He has taken his mission given by Calindria's father Hades very seriously and once he finds the headstrong woman he isn't going to let her out of his sight. The realm this takes place in consists of new creatures, characters, and trickery. So, grab some tea, a good blanket, and hope the forecast calls for rain because you will not be putting this book down.
Thanatos is the God of Death he has been sent out to find Hades daughter they thought she was dead but they haven’t been able to find her soul and she has pasted through the veil. They where told someone had her soul trapped. So Thanatos has been hunting for it. Calindria daughter of Hades has been through dead for six centuries but the realm she has been held in plays trick with you mind. But this time when her guards talk about moving her she plans to try to break loose. She does but what she fines about herself is she has a dark power that kills with just a touch of her hand. So when Thanatos show up she runs from him because she doesn’t know if it’s just another trick or real. So enjoy another very good read and find out how much trouble these two will have to go through to find peace!!
Enjoyed it! I enjoyed the story line and the character development especially that of Thanatos! Heartbreaking! Calindria’s bothered me somewhat because she recovered from 600years of captivity and abuse in like a week??? Wtf. And then her inner monologue was so wishy washy, she flitted between a damsel to bad bitch to victim to damsel. That made it hard to relate to her, the indecision. The family reunion wasn’t what I thought it would be. I expected more from it. She’s the only girl the youngest, everyone’s favourite and they’d mourned her for years and yet… she just wanted to go home with Thanatos and get railed?? Haha but I would too if shadow daddy was my boyfriend. The plot is so thick and well thought out I really liked that I couldn’t quite guess the what/who from the start like I normally can.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Outstanding!! Thanatos and Calindria just became my favorite couple in this series. Of course, the daughter of Hades has the most bada** power out of all his kids. This book had everything. Action, romance, battles, reunions and some serious steam. I love this series and look forward to Hades book. This book brought us closer, but there is still a traitor to be found. Seeing the family together was super emotional and very well-done. Very well written and emotional story. I was sucked into the story and felt all the highs and lows on the journey taken by Thanatos and Calindria. I recommend reading the other stories in the series first just to get the full impact of the much anticipated reunion experienced here. Well written, fantastic story!
I’m already a big Felicity Heaton fan. I love her writing style and have read most of her books! Her world-building is amazing. The mix of fantasy and reality captures my attention right from the start. I love her characters. They’re never just good or evil but a complex assortment of positive and negative traits and emotions. It’s this combination and attention to detail that always makes her stories feel more realistic for me. I read Greek myths when I was younger and love that they’re the inspiration for this series. With Felicity’s usual twist, of course.
Thanatos was worth the wait! Let me explain. I seem to be drawn to dark, deadly and damaged anti-heroes.
The ultimate fight between the God of Death and the Avenging Fury. Thanatos is given the task of finding Calindra, lost to the unknown for over 6 centuries. Accepting that mission he sets out to rescue her but what he finds is not the sweet and innocent girl he remembers. Calindria has a mission of her own: destroy those who murdered her and get revenge on her family for their abandonment. But when their surprise and anger turns to passion, will they accept the reality that now surrounds them? Will hatred and loss be smoothed over by love? Will memories be restored to true representations?
Wow just wow when things start looking up for the boys, it all goes to pot , Thanatos is blooming gorgeous and by far my favourite and the god of death has been haunting for hades daughter Calindria and who he finds isn’t a sweet little girl but a gorgeous woman who wakes unwanted feelings in him a hunger that’s as strong as his mission.
Calindria is on a mission escape hell find the people who murdererd her brother and take revenge but a gorgeous god of death is thrown into the mix and she’s determined to lose him but in a place where you’re memories and used against you can they make it out or die trying
i loved the story, the twists and turns, the chemistry between Thanatos and Calindria. I loved the strength of Calindria wanting to be in control. Without spoilers, the story is strong, one of the best ive read yet, this is focused on Calindria, this is more her story than Thanatos. I felt sad at her plight, ripped away from her family leading them to think she is dead, used as a means to gain power over others. She is her own goddess, her way or no way. Thoroughly enjoyed the book. I would recommend reading the series in order as the stories can follow on from each other with the main characters featuring in each book. A******
Loved Thanatos. From the start I wanted him to get his happy ever after. He cannot be touched by a woman, not even his mother. Cannot ever trust a woman. She is beautiful. Can she be different? Will she survive? Calindria. Has been gone a long time. Her family think her dead. She doesn’t remember much. She does remember Calistos. Her twin. Her powers are growing. A new one emerging to help her escape. Thanatos has been sent by her family to find and rescue her. He is a powerhouse. He can help can’t he? More enemies to taunt them. Can they escape? Read this instalment to the series to find out.
After reading the brothers books I thought nothing more could surprise me with this series, then I got caught up with Thanatos and Calindria.
We’ve been expecting throughout the series that finally the brothers and their allies would find a soul - Calindria has been lost for centuries, we’ve all thought her dead and from her families viewpoint they just wanted her to be at rest…. Just like us readers, I’m sure they weren’t expecting what Thanatos found!
Thanatos has been searching for Hades’s only daughters soul for four years, never giving up as he’s serving his god-king and as the god of death, this is kinda in his wheelhouse…. What he wasn’t expecting was the mission to take so long, be so difficult or what he found when he eventually reached his target!!
I loved Calindria…. Yeah, she had a lot of issues and a whole luggage store of resentment and seething retribution she wanted to dole out - understandable when you’ve spent hundreds of years believing things a certain way… but seeing her re-evaluate her thoughts, start to trust Thanatos, as well as her own heart, and start to become whole again made for good reading.
Thanatos… as the god of death we’d think him strong enough to combat anything and to be afraid of pretty much nothing but finding out he had demons of his own and what they were made sense of how he lived and viewed his own life!
One of my favourite things about this instalment of the series is that our MCs spend most of the journey alone, getting to know each other, building trust, understanding and some sort of relationship. I do enjoy when we encounter other favourites characters from previous reads but there’s just something I truly love about getting to know our leads without outside interference or influences….
As ever we had suspense, action, mystery and a whole lot of heat… this series is a favourite of mine and I’m looking forward to Hades’ story!!!
What a phenomenal addition to an already fantabulous series. I know, fantabulous isn't a word but, I'm making it one because this series deserves it. Felicity Heaton has written, yet again, a story that captivates and enthralls the reader from beginning to end. This story has romance, heat, excitement, suspense and most importantly intrigue. I just love the characters and I can NOT wait to see what comes next.
I am so glad to get the story for Thanatos and Calindria. We have heard so much about her through the previous stories. But now we finally find out what happened and it is so good. But this story has so much more than that. A part of the Underworld and very dangerous. They will find death and betrayal as they face their past and possible future. The tension pushes them and makes the story so much better.
Thanatos wow Just wow, he met his perfect match and mate. Totally enjoyed Thanatos and Calindria . Both had huge hurdles to get thru but love conquers all. I'm still curious however how she'll conquer her gift around her family. Will we see this in Hades Book? I hope so. There was just a little blip/blurb about her brothers and their females. More or less a tease so I'd really like to see that side play out.
