Curtis Macurdy passes through a cross-dimensional gate into a land where his peculiarities are honored, not cursed. There he finds old enemies and another war, and discovers that peace carries a steep price. Meanwhile, his old adversary prepares a doomsday weapon.
John Dalmas—pseudonym for John Robert Jones—wrote many books based on military and governmental themes throughout his career. He grew up in Minnesota and Michigan and resided in Spokane, Washington. He was a parachute infantryman in WWII and was discharged in 1946 without ever being put seriously in harm's way. He has worked as a longshoreman, merchant seaman, logger, construction worker, and smokejumper. He attended Michigan State University, majoring in forestry, but also took creative writing.
Third and final book in the trilogy. Another good one. Again an independent story line mostly, with references to previous books. It is best to read the trilogy in order, but not totally necessary. Like the other two books this one is not your typical fantasy story line. It also goes unusual directions in the plot. Good finish to the trilogy.
A different writing style than I am used to reading, this book deals mostly with broad concepts and reads at points almost like a timeline. There is action, though brief, with most of the story being pretty broad outlining a war impending on Yuulith.
This is the 3rd book in the series starting with "The Lion of Farside" by John Dalmas. It is a good ending (probably ends but of course books can always continue later through clever writing) dispite it's slow beginnings.
