Spark is book 19 of the Steel Brothers and it is Donny and Callie’s first book and what a book it was. As always, Ms. Hardt artfully weaved her words together and delivered an outstanding, all-consuming, addictive story, full of mystery, emotion, suspense, passion, and heat.
After finishing Dale's story, I was so excited for Donny's story and Helen Hardt did not disappoint!
After 19 books, this series still has the ability to shock me, completely consume me, have me turning pages faster to work out what's coming next. I'm completely spellbound and obsessed with each character within this story. From the original Steel Brothers to their parents and now their children. This series continues to deliver everything I love about dark and emotional romances. I can't wait to see what Ms. Hardt has up her sleeve for these two! One thing I do know is that if it's anything like this book? My heart may not take it!

Donny and Callie’s story. Plus more mystery with the Steel family.

This is the story where we get to know Donny – a little bit more in depth. We see him from time to time in the other books but haven’t really spent a great deal of time focusing in on his story.
Donny is the open and charismatic one. He seems to always has the attention of the ladies. But now he’s has met someone he can’t get out of his mind. The neighboring families daughter and sparks are definitely flying.
They waste no time connecting and what started out as a simple meeting has become a steaming affair with plenty of clandestine meet ups and hook ups. Hardt knows how to turn up the heat, capture your attention, and get those sparks flying!
Let’s not forget about the amazing family saga and all of them machinations go on behind the scenes. This cannot be a Steel story without several twists and secrets popping up. Always an attention getter, you cannot read a Steel saga book without becoming more and more addicted! Spark is ramping it up again! So Good!

Just when you think the Steels lives are slowly calming down, explosions go off again and more secrets begin to surface. Skeletons in both Donny and Callie’s closet are threatening to come back to haunt them, causing chaos in the small town of Snow Creek, hitting close to the Steel family. Except now they have one another to catch them when they begin to fall and man is it eruptive.

Spark by Helen Hardt is book 19 in the Steel Brothers Saga. This is the story of Caroline Pike 'Callie' and Donovan Steel 'Donny'. Donny was called back home by his mother Jade to help her in the family law firm. Returning to Snow Creek, Colorado he starts getting reacquainted with their family neighbor Callie. Callie wanted to be a lawyer and was about to get that dream when her family ended up suffering a loss with their family Vineyards. Now she is trying to help her family to get things back up and running. Donny and Callie feel the pull towards each other along with their hot attraction to each other but both have things that they are keeping secret which only add to them having a rocky road to their ending.

With every additional story in this series, Helen Hardt proves time and time again that she is a masterful storyteller. Finally we get Donny's story. Coming back to work alongside his mother, Donny reacquaints himself with fellow neighbor Callie. But just as the sparks are flying between the two, Donny is pulled into the family secrets and deceptions. Will this be the beginning or the end of Donny and Callie's HEA? And will the new questions bring about even more painful answers? Tis might be number 19 but the emotions are still running high. With a beautiful portrayal of the Steel family and the layers of emotion and angst, this was another wonderful addition to a fabulous saga.

First hello Good Reads for this series we need more than a 5⭐️ rating. Helen Hardt you did it again and I never doubted you on this because I knew you would. I love how perfect Donny and Calie are for each other. This book had me hooked and not wanting to put it down. Than the last page I thought no no no it can’t end like this and my only upset is having to wait for the next book. Thank you for being such an amazing author and keeping me hooked.

I’m happy to now get to read Donny’s side. He’s such a charismatic person. Loving making people laugh and just being care free. Callie wants to be able to go to law school but since her family’s vineyards burned down she had to give her parents the money to keep them from going bankrupt. So then she starts to work with Donny’s mom jade at the attorneys office. Donny is also now working there and wants to be able to go into the database to find information that him and dale think their family is hiding.

Moving back to Snow Creek, to work with his mother, Donny Steel accepts the position of Assistant City Attorney. Although Dale thinks Donny is making a mistake, there is more to the move back, than just the position and family, Donny has his eye on a pretty young lady from a neighboring ranch on the Western Slope.
Callie Pike had planned for years to go to law school. Just when that time had arrived, so had a fire, that destroyed over half of her families wine vineyard. The funds needed to send her to her dream school in Chicago, went up in the same flames as the vines. However, now knowing that Donny Steel was coming home to live back on the Steel Ranch, that's just an added perk to her having to stay at home.
The Steels seem to always be at the top of the town of Snow Creeks rumor mill, and Donny and Dale are learning that some things aren't as they had thought. Sure, they knew that Talon, Jade and their uncles and aunts wanted to keep what had happened to them, before becoming Steels, from their siblings and cousins, but there are things that just aren't adding up.
Speaking of rumor mills. there is someone from Callie's past, that has shown back up in Snow Creek, and already spreading rumors, to none other than Donny, who loves and is loved by Callie Pike.
WHO SHOT TALON STEEL???
That is the question running rampant through my mind right now...Not only mine, but Donny and Dale's as well. They will leave no stone left unturned, until this mystery is solved.
Helen Hardt is the best author I know for giving us a cliffhanger. She is known to all her readers as the #qeenofcliffhangers

Oh. My. Spark! Helen has done it again with Spark. Helen never ceases to amaze me with her books. Sparks fly in this book and I can't wait to read the other two. Donny and Callie's story start in Spark. They've known each other for years but never made the move on the other. Understandable with the age differences. With the intention of just being friends who have fun occasionally, both are thrown for a loop when they realize it is much much more than that. Both are hiding something and both are needing each other in more ways than ever. Hidden mysteries that were buried years ago are beginning to surface and the two decide to team up to work together to find out the how, what, why and where of the mysteries. Can they solve the mysteries that surround them? Are they in danger? Will their relationship survive the outcome of the hidden mysteries or will it grow into something magical? What happens now? Will they reveal their secrets to one another and can they tolerate each others hidden secrets? These are the questions I am left with after reading this book.
At first, I felt the story moved pretty fast. I just can't get enough of the Steels and thier nact for finding trouble or it finding them!
It's Donny's turn to find love and what he thinkswith will be a one night stand with Callie Pike turns into so much more! Donny has moved back home to help his mom and was intending on focusing on his work till he heard Callie Pike never left for college. Donny learns things about his familes past and from what he learned he wants to know more. But with all Steels people don't want them learning what happened. I can’t wait for the next book so we get to find out what happened!
Callie stayed home to help her family and when she heard Donny was coming back home for good she was over the moon! I love Callie and her sweet nature and that's what drew Donny to her! Those to are incredible together and I can't wait to see where thier relationship goes in the next book!

The secrets just keep piling up, from a long time past to the present. Donavan (or Donny, which is what he prefers to be called) moves back to Snow Creek after many years of practicing law in Denver. Even though he’s known the Pike family for years, Callie Pike has captured his attention and vice versa. As their relationship starts, things from the past catch up with both him and Dale, but also the rest of the Steel clan. Most of the younger generation have no idea of the past atrocities that involved members of their family. Donny thought that the past was buried but these things seem to always find a way to be brought into the present. How will this affect his relationship and new found feelings with Callie? Callie has her own issues about starting a relationship and issues from her own past and present to deal with. It will be another roller coaster ride!

Oh my, oh my when you think the dust has settled on the Steel's lives another bomb is dropped. Donny comes home from Denver to work for his mum Jade, only been home a day himself & Dale receive some information regarding their family with more secrets from the past involving Brad Steel. Donny starts seeing Calli Pike a neighbour of the Steel's, they are perfect together 😍
Not only does Donny have secrets but Calli does too.
The book had me gripped from the beginning, the whole series is one rollercoster ride and it just keeps going 😁
This book is a must read, thanks to Helen Hardt for keeping us hooked ❤

To Donny Steel family is everything. When is mother asks him to come back home to become assistant district attorney, he doesn't hesitate. Callie Pike's dream is to go to law school but when a fire takes most of the family's vineyard she must stay and help her family. Donny has always known Callie but has always felt she was too young. Seeing her now he sees her in a different light. Something keeps calling to him. Callie thinks Donny is hot. As does every other woman. She feels like she doesn't stand a chance. As always, Helen has does it again. The chemistry between these two is so intense. As usual I am salivating for the next book!

Donny has his eyes set on Callie Pike the second he returns back to take his position as assistant to the District Attorney. Donny doesn’t think about any woman as permanent but can’t seem to keep his mind off Callie, but he has a nagging feeling that there are too many family secrets and doesn’t know who to trust. Donny is also haunted by his childhood trauma and is looking for answers that his family seems to hold. Helen Hardt never stops amazing me, just when you think she’s hit every post, she comes back with new ways to tease and have her readers on edge.
This book is full of suspense, it’s trilling, enigmatic, it’s sexy and steamy, I absolutely loved every page and honestly didn’t want it to end Donny Steel will knock your socks off.
Loved seeing the interaction with Donny and Jade and of course the whole Steel clan and let’s not forget the new family The Pikes, Donny and Callie are amazing their chemistry is pure fire.

Where do I start? Just when we all think that life is going great for the Steel family we get another curve ball. Donny Steel comes home to work with his mom Jade. Before he can start his new job and classmate brings him and Dale some information that has them both asking questions. Donny also falls in love in this installment and all of Dale's secrets are told. And of course the end we are left asking more questions than ever.

Again another great book in the family saga, I enjoy the jumping between the two main characters and their internal struggles and how they overcome some of this. Disappointed it finished leaving me hanging with the next one not due until December.

This book was very good!! Just enough mystery and sex, this was my first Steel Brothers book which was an accident since there are SO many in the series! I plan on reading more and this left me on a cliff hanger 10/10!

September 24, 2021This installment is the first in donny and callies story. The first half is very slow going with the suspense and story but after the halfway point everything starts heating up in more than one way. I do have to say I'm a avid reader of the steel Brothers and I want to thank hardt and soul for allowing me to have the chance to get the arc and review this book. I cant wait for the next park of donny and callies story. I do have a feeling this will be alot like Brad and Daphnes story in the beginning.

I loved this story about Donny & Callie. They are drawn to each other at Dale's wedding. Then Donny comes back to Snow Creek to be the Assistant DA with his mother. From that point on there are events that happen to take us on the beginning of a wild ride looking into events from years ago. This book ends on a cliffhanger but I'll definitely be reading on.

Spark. Book # 19 in The Steel Brothers Saga (wow) and I must say that it was excellent. After so many secrets, lies, and futures have been uncovered and effected by the Steel family I really thought not much more could surprise me. For the most part I can predict Helen Hardt as I am an avid reader of hers. Within this particular series and especially Dale's books there are twists but they almost seemed like fillers, too easy to see coming. But I am really happy to say that what Helen gave us in Donny's first book was not just shocking but also one of my favorites in this series in a long time.
I LOVE DONOVAN STEEL! What a sweet, charming and all around great guy. His character far and away blew me out of the water. I was really looking forward to a new hero that was not as serious as the rest, a guy who knows how to walk the walk and talk the talk but just knows how to have fun (like my Ryan way back when). Well, that's Donny and again, I just loved him. He really cares for his family and really wants to be a good man. He is fun and maybe a bit a of bed hopper but is still pretty humble about his appeal to woman. He's home to help his mother Jade as the Assistant DA and he may have turned down a great career path in Denver but what his mother needs he gives, which is another reason I love him. As soon as he is home he wants to have some time with Callie Pike but he has to get settled and get through his big welcome home party Jade is throwing. But as it turns out Callie is just as anxious to get alone with Donny and all too soon they are wrapped up in each other, in the Steel library no less, talk about fantasy scene right there! And Callie is pretty awesome and actually perfect for Donny.
Callie, Caroline, Pike is different than the other girls in town. She has a good head on her shoulders, she is selfless and always helps her family when needed, and she wants to become a lawyer. So this is where she finds herself, stuck home after the awful forest fire that blazed into their vineyard, helping her parents instead of going to Law school to finish her degree. Even though she is a bit bitter about this she still knows what she needs to do, get a job in the field she loves for now and make sure her parents get the help they need. Donny Steel is home as well so it really isn't all that bad as Callie had already acknowledged their spark at Donny's brother's wedding reception and now she can't wait to bump into him again. And so they do, they get vertical up against some books and so begins a Steel and Pike love story!
I loved their connection. I thought their chemistry was really great and the best we have seen in a while. Donny is the kind of man you know you're going to get tangled up in the sheets with but he's got this way about him, he's not selfish and he cares about Callie's comfort level throughout their entire beginning. I loved their trip to Aspen. I think they have great conversations and I feel like they will most certainly be a power couple once this is all over. They are both brilliant and want to get to the bottom of all the secrets that come with the Steel family. I was also happy to see a great sisterly relationship between Callie and Rory, I think they are both going to shock us with what they are hiding as well. But I loved how Rory built up Callie and always encouraged her to get hers.
I was really enjoyed twists that actually shocked me in Donny's book. I loved seeing the brotherly interactions between Donny and Dale and loved how much they connect and understand one another. it was great seeing how Donny has dealt with the trauma of their passed and it was also awesome to see Dale doing much better. I am hoping to see more Jade and Donny since they have such a great relationship in the next book and I was COMPLETLEY BLINDSIDED by what happened to our Talon!! SO many questions, so many secrets, so much more to come!
I think Helen really nailed Spark and I am so looking forward to more of this series that just keeps going and going. Can't wait for more Donny and Callie and for more answers to all the questions Spark left us with!

Once again Ms. Hardt had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I cannot wait for the next book, Flame, to come out. I know some questions will be answered, but there will more than likely be many more raised. An edge of the seat, romantic, suspenseful read. Highly recommended.
