Noelle Rayne is the debut author of An Empress of Air and Chaos. This is book number one in her debut fantasy series. She has a BA Hons Degree in Theatre and lives in Ayrshire, Scotland. When she is not writing, she is binge watching supernatural TV shows, cuddling her fur baby or curling up with a good fantasy book under fairy-lights. Or possibly doing all three at once. She is obsessed with storms, glitter and all things witchy. If you like any of these things, I have a feeling you might like her books…

Beware! Unpopular Opinion Loading...

fine print if you loved this you’d best keep scrolling cause I’m afraid I might be stepping on some toes with this one 😖

This earns just a 1.5 stars from me 🙊

I was so, SO excited for this debut. I mean what’s not to love about a demon army invading the world, shifters, fae, and witches amirite? So this sounded soooo like something I would love to death! And the author is such a sweetie, I’ve loved seeing interviews with her 🥰 But this book didn’t deliver...on any front for me 💔

I’ve read the few reviews out there and that had pumped me up even more for this book. But those glowing reviews don’t match up with what I read. Why do I always have to be the odd ball out? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I was expecting action, lots of magic usage (hello, witches!🧙🏽‍♀️and elemental magic! 🔥🌪🌊💦), lots of magical peoples, a badass heroine, epic world building, etc. That’s what the reviews led me to believe I would be getting.

But action? Nah. Other than the initial bit in the beginning, there’s a brief fight scene in the middle and another one at the end. So action was lacking to keep me interested. When that happens in books I need the characters to at least hold up the story for me and move it along. They failed to do so. Emara is too busy ogling the Blacksteel brothers muscles more than literally anything else in this book. I wanted more from her than just her hormones, okay? And the raging hormones focusing on the two love interests did nothing for me either. 1)I can’t stand love triangles. Just NO 🙅🏻‍♀️They just never ever work for me except for The Infernal Devices💘 2) the brothers themselves were so meh. Gideon is bland as white toast and turns out to be a total tool, and Torin’s personality is basically just all overblown ego. I will say I did start liking him better at the end, so maybe I’ll actually really like him as a love interest possibility in book 2, which I also didn’t even realize this was going to be a series - wtg GR for not labeling it as such 🙄 Even the best friend Cally was so underwhelmingly developed! She’s the “best friend” but barely makes an appearance at all. I just couldn’t connect to anyone in this story cause they all felt plastic and needed more developing time 😓

The world building...we spend almost the entirety of the story in the Hunters tower sooo not much is seen of other places, which I was feeling like a prisoner myself never leaving the tower. I did like the bar scene cause hey clubbing!🍸🍹 And we got out of the tower at last!

I really only enjoyed the last 10% where we finally got some action and elemental magic use!! And the witches, where the hell were they the whole story? Like the title has “chaos” in it yet there’s no amazing chaotic action like I was promised. I wanted to see the magical people’s in the forefront, but they’re mostly all background mentions vs actually seeing them.

The Hunters are basically the Shadowhunters, so if the Mortal Instruments were your jam then you’ll probably love this. I wasn’t a fan of that series so maybe that’s why I didn’t enjoy this one 🤷🏻‍♀️ It also had essences of ACOTAR, but not like the same level.

I’m sorry, this one just turned out to be completely opposite of what I was expecting based on the blurb and reviews. It just wasn’t for me at all and I’m sorry for any toes I stepped on. I just had to explain what didn’t set with me to earn this book it’s first low rating 🙈

I received and read this book as part of the beta reading team and Holy shit It blew me away.

Witch covens? YES. Shifters? YES. Demon King? YES. Intricate system of elemental magic with a thoughtful, original, and easily understood history within the world? YEESSSSS.

World building is my love language and Noelle, I have caught feelings. The supernatural classes and systems of magic are so well thought out and refreshingly original. I got some Wiccan/pagan vibes that had my modern witchy heart swooning. The best part is that I know only a fraction of the world has been uncovered in this first novel and I cannot wait to discover more!

The way I see it, there are two plots going on here. The first follows Emara, a bold female protagonist and seemingly average human girl (reserved compared to her scandalous best friend). Under the light of an approaching Blood Moon, a dark turn of events tears her village apart, and Emara finds everything she thought she knew about the world scattered amongst the rubble as well. As she and her best friend Cally are thrust into this supernatural world, they start on a journey of challenges and self discovery... and it’s full of twists and surprises you’ll never see coming. “Pushing the boundaries is the only way a woman can make a path for herself in this world.” Thank goodness they have a guide.. or should I say guides. Which brings me to the second plot....

THE BLACKSTEEL BROTHERS
Yes, they are a whole plot because let me tell you, I could read an entire book of these 3 intense, muscled, and incredibly lethal demon hunters just taking out their frustrations in the training ring. Or slaying demons on the battlefield.

They had me saying SALVATORE WHO?!

“I need to know that you can lie next to her every single night for the rest of your life and give her your whole heart, because I can.”

All I can say is, good luck choosing a team.

Not only are they sexy as hell, but the character development of each is just so well done. Noelle utilizes third person and multiple POV’s seamlessly. The result is such a well rounded experience through which you really get to know every character.

The dynamics and relationships built throughout the book are just spot on. Witty banter, delicious flirtation, hilarious comebacks, steamy moments, and SO. MUCH. TENSION. I was constantly begging for more. So begins the excruciating wait for book 2...

I’m so lucky to be a beta reader for An Empress of Air and Chaos! What an amazing debut novel set in such an original world!

If you’re a fan of a good love triangle (which I am) you will absolutely love this! The Blacksteel brothers are the book boyfriends you have been waiting for!

The end (no spoilers) literally had my heart racing! I seriously can’t say enough about the ending of this book without giving anything away so I’ll leave you with this teaser the author has put out on bookstagram that made me so excited to read it:

“I need to know that you can lie next to her every single night for the rest of your life and give her your whole heart. Because I can.”

The ARC was sent to me by the author in exchange for an honest review. This book is all I’ve ever wanted. Honestly it has it all: supernatural creatures, a strong female protagonist, incredible chemistry between characters and humor! I devoured it and can’t wait for more.
Emika lives with her grandmother and with her best friend Cally, she’s a bit scandalous but we all love her, their lives drastically change when they’re attacked by some creatures and saved by the Blacksteel brothers. Emika discovers the truth about the supernatural side of the world, she might have a tie with it, one that could solve the mystery of her parents' deaths.

I absolutely loved everything about this book, it combines all my favorite plots and the result is amazing. I really enjoyed reading from Emika’s point of view, she’s smart, brave and always has the best come-backs. The romance is complex and confusing in the best way possible, I honestly am still not a hundred percent sure who I want Emika to be with. Or maybe I do. Ugh, I really can’t wait to read more about these characters and the fantasy world, I highly recommend it!

✨Book Review✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

An Empress of Air and Chaos by @authornoellerayne was an incredible read!

This debut novel is full of supernatural creatures, witches, hunters and even shifters. The main character Emara is a fierce soul who suddenly lost everything in her life to a demon attack. All but her best friend & polar opposite Cally- the wild, light comedic relief. The girls soon find themselves in the care of hunters. Two of them are brothers, and heart throbs. One is sweet and every girls stable dream, the other is the emotionally unavailable bad boy, who is every girls wild dream.

Hidden identities, prophecies, unknown power and lots of tension are in this gem of a book. Reads as an upper YA/bridging the gap between YA & NA. It hit the ground running and never slowed. I was hooked from the beginning and entranced by the story throughout. I cannot believe this is a debut novel… there’s so much room to open this world up for a huge series if the author chooses to. Incredibly excited for book two!

A fast paced fantasy read you won’t want to miss.

An Empress of Air and Chaos had action from the very beginning and I did not want to set it down! The world, the characters, the angst, all so good.

When Emara’s village gets attacked by demons, she is thrown into this world she had no idea existed. She feels lost and a bit hopeless after losing everyone and everything except for her best friend. She also didn’t expect two hot Blacksteel brothers, one fire and one ice. Instead of just giving up, she decides to learn how to fight and stand up for herself and I really loved that.

I’m normally not a big fan of love triangles, but 𝑅𝐴𝑌𝑁𝐸 did a really good job. Torin was my favorite from the beginning, but all the intrigue and emotions between the three of them were incredible to watch play out. I can’t wait to see where it goes i’m book 2.

This world was super cool. All the different types of supernaturals were amazing and in this book you didn’t even get to see them all in this book, so I can’t wait to meet more of them. The different factions of witches were also really interesting, how their magic worked and how they interacted was amazing.

The side characters were also very rich. I loved Cally so much. She annoyed me a couple times if I’m being honest, but I loved how supportive she was. Her interest in fashion was also wonderful and how she made a life for herself after being knocked down with it made it even better.

This is a book that all romantasy lovers will enjoy. With rich world building that isn’t just dumped on you, some hot demon hunters, and crazy plot twists, I highly recommend giving An Empress of Air and Chaos a try! Also, I need the sequel IMMEDIATELY, such a good ending, I’m still reeling.

Okay stop what you are doing right now and go buy this book if you haven't already!

I was excited to read this book and knew it was going to be good but omg it was just perfection.

Witches, demons, hunters, shifters, and magic. Everything I love in books. I instantly connected with every character. There wasn't any part of the book where I got bored. I was hooked on every page.

Emara is so relatable. I connected with her in so many ways and her body type isn't the usual one we see in most books. She is curvy and for me we need more of this in books.

As for which team I'm on? I kept switching and at one point I couldn't choose so decided on Team Blacksteel 😂 but at the end I've settled on Team Torin 😏

This book has earned its spot in second place in my top books. Crescent City is my number one but I can say without a doubt An Empress of Air & Chaos is up there with it. The only character I've ever read in a book that I could completely relate to and loved over all others was Bryce Quinlan but now I can add Emara Clearwater to that list too.

Thank you Noelle for sharing your amazing characters and your magical world with us. Thank you for showing us it's okay to not be okay and that things won't always be sunshine and rainbows but that there will be brighter days to come 💜

Now I'm impatiently waiting for book 2 😂

Why this isn't at the top of everyone's TBR is BEYOND ME. This book had everything I was looking for after a serious FBAA hangover. This is NA Fantasy but basically no spice here in book one - however, I've seen the author insinuate that there will be more in the following books!

Immaculately written love triangle asking our MC "what you want? or what you need?" (tension off the charts); magic; super attractive clan of demon hunters; werewolves; witches; secrets; royalty....it's got it all. I adore the lead Emara and her best friend Cally, and I'm team Torin 110%. I shove this book at literally anyone who will listen, and I'm dying for the next book to come out!

You all. This book is amazing! This is Noelle’s first book and I seriously can’t believe it!

She did such a fantastic job with the characters and the love interests, they were some of my favorites that I have read this year. The writing is so fluid and the world building is easy to follow along with which I like because some fantasy gets so confusing to the point where I can’t enjoy it fully.

I can’t wait for the second one to come out!

I need more! This was a fantastic debut from Noelle. This world is filled with any fantasy lovers dreams. We have witches, shifters, fae, hunters, demons, etc. I think we’ve only began to scratch the surface of this story and I’m so excited to see what’s to come.

The ending has me on the edge of my seat. I did throw my kindle at one point to collect myself, but that shows it’s a good book for me. I do have a favorite Blacksteel brother, it’s rare for me not to pick favorites. I loved Emara, she’s tough and goes through so much and deserves the world. We should protect her at all costs (not that she needs protecting).

I definitely recommend this book. You need a good new fantasy to dive into? You should pick this one up!

Did we all read the same book I’m confused? Some of these character descriptions had me rolling my eyes (my normal colored eyes that don’t change with my emotions). I understand this is the author’s first book but there should have been some better editing. There was a lot of telling and very little showing, so much so that I started fixating on how many times a page the same name was repeated. I am disappointed because a reviewer I loved highly recommended this book so I tried to get through it but I could not. It reads a bit like a wattpad story but if that’s your thing then you do you.

The story just blew me away. The plot was amazing and the characters are sooo great. The world building is unique. We got a combinations of witches, hunters, fae, shifters, humans and demons.

Emara Clearwater is a strong and fierce woman who lives in a cottage with her grandmother and best friend Callyn. On the Blood Moon Day, a demon from the Underworld killed her grandmother and almost killed Emara if not Blacksteel brothers killed that demon first. She trained with them. Emara learns who she was and what she was and the truth shook her world but she wouldn't ignore them. She needs time to process everything if she's not distracted by certain ocean blue eyes Blacksteel brother.

Torin Blacksteel is an arrogant, devilishly handsome and attractive, second in command of the Blacksteel Hunter Clan. Torin is a closed off emotion person but couldn't deny his chemistry towards Emara. He teased and mockes Emara whenever he could but he is a protective asshole. When any danger comes to Emara, he is a cold hearted warrior who would tear limb by limb from his enemy.

Gideon Blacksteel is a gentle and kind second brother of Torin blacksteel. He trained Emara and took care of her. Also a protective asshole but loved her deeply.

Emara couldn't deny her attraction and chemistry towards Blacksteel brothers. She finds Torin, a fire that would set her soul on fire whereas Gideon, a safe place where she feels peace. But after spending enough time with both of them, she wouldn't decide who she wants more.

I'm sure that book 2 will be more intriguing than book 1 and fucking wait for it. The end was soo Cliffy and thank gods, book 2 releases on September 2022.

"Pushing the boundaries is the only way for a woman to make a path for herself in this world."

This book has it all:
-Strong FMC
-Witches, Fae, Shifters, Demons
-Love Triangle
-All Three POVs
-WARRIOR BROTHERS
-Enemies-ish to Lovers AND Friends to Lovers
-Protective Love Interests
-Strong Familial Friendship

The tension. THE TENSION. There is no spice, but a tiny bit of steam and the slow burn is so good.
I loved the strong friendship between the FMC and her best friend.
The world building was interesting and had all of our favorite types of beings in it.
The writing could use some refining which is why I docked it a star.

Overall, this was excellent and I ate it up. This book felt like a setup for so much more and I can't wait to see where the story goes! I'm immediately jumping into book two with that ending!

This was a good debut novel and wonderful start to a series.

Demons from the Underworld have unleashed a fury on the kingdom, slaughtering village after village. Emara, loses everything she's known to the demons and almost loses her life but is saved by the Blacksteel brothers. Learning about the supernatural world alongside best friend Cally, she has to face truths that were kept from her.

The Blacksteel brothers; Torin and Gideon, both have potential as a romantic interest for Emara but I'm personally rooting for Torin because....oof.

As with most first books there is more informational world building than action. Learning about witches, shapeshifters and demon hunters, Emara must figure out who she is or else be lost.

Looking forward to the next installment.

I was fortunate enough to do a beta read of this book, and let me just say that I can’t wait for the finished product to come out!! This is a fantastic YA fantasy involving witches, hunters, shifters, and demons. The world building is perfectly thought out and balanced and quickly engages the reader without becoming overwhelming.

The story follows Emara, our badass female protagonist who leads a seemingly normal life until a sudden terrible event reveals new truths about her world and family. She is thrown into a supernatural world she must quickly navigate along with her best friend Cally by her side. Oh, and did I mention that this “navigation” involves two smokin’ hot demon-fighting brothers, each with an eye for Emara? There is great chemistry, steamy moments, and witty banter between characters that kept me saying “just one more chapter”. One character in particular has stolen my heart.

I flew through this in just a few days and CAN’T WAIT to continue to follow Emara’s journey in the sequel! I have a feeling we’ve only just begun to scratch the surface of this thrilling world.

(Of note: I think fans of Serpent & Dove and Kingdom of the Wicked will love An Empress of Air and Chaos. It’s better than those in my opinion!).

Rayne has set a new standard for Romantasy with her debut novel - I’ll be pre-ordering the sequel AND anything else she writes 👏🏻

Let’s start with the incredible world building and magic system. Rayne combines traditional high fantasy settings with a twist of modernism that feels unique and perfectly suited to the story. There’s a great melting pot of fantasy and paranormal beings here with an interesting hierarchy and I’m excited to learn more about this world and it’s magic 🧚‍♂️🌙

Her characters are perfectly flawed, endearing and believable. The friendship our MC has with her bestie is a warm hug and then there is the Blacksteel’s 👀 Not since the Salvatore Brothers have we seen such a delicious love triangle.. seriously. Done. So. Well.🔥🥵 #teamtorrin

This is where The Vampire Diaries comparison ends however, this action packed world is darker, witchier and infinitely superior (especially to the books 🙊 #sorrynotsorry )

I mean, I can’t say much more than go and read this as soon as you can - then please #fangirl with me 🙏🏻

“You look good with some steel in between your hands” He drew in his cheeks and one dimple appeared. “I can think of one more thing that would look—"... Torin, AEOAAC

Ugh this book and these men! Noelle Rayne had me switching sides faster than SJM finds a character a mate. I finished this Beta read earlier in the month and I cannot wait for book 2. I am going to try and not be biased in my review but I am a hoe for a tall man with pretty eyes. Spoiler free review below…

An Empress of Air & Chaos has my supernatural dream team. Witches, demons, shifters, and some tall men to hunt the bad ones down. Emara finds her self thrown into the middle of this new (to her) supernatural world. Luckily she has her best friend by her side to enjoy the views of some strapping and sometimes broody men. This book is also more than the two brothers that made me blush. It has great world building with some wonderful magic, rules, and characters that grow beautifully.

If you love multiple POV’s, strong female characters, wonderful banter, and some badassery, this is the book for you! I cannot wait to see how this story evolves. Thank you for letting me be on your Beta Team Noelle 🖤

~ Magic/Supernatural
~ Multiple POV
~ Love Triangle

I don't know why I didn't read this one sooner. I enjoyed it so so much. I loved how the world that was built. I enjoyed each character. Emara is just badass even with going through a lot. I love how she learns to really speak for herself. Oh those Blacksteel brothers are... 🥵. Now I tend not to read love triangles but I really think this book is the exception to it. (Yes I have a favorite brother) There wasn't any spice but the tension was amazing. I also can't believe that ending. My heart was beating so fast. I was truly in shock. I can't recommend this book and series enough.

An Empress of Air & Chaos is book one in the series. This book is on the edge YA/NA. This also Noelle debut novel and it was so well done. Book two, An Empress of Fire & Steel, will coming out in September of 2022. I seriously can't wait. I can't wait for the story to continue.

I had to DNF this at 14% and over 9 grammar and spelling errors. It’s just too many extraneous words and descriptors. The modern vernacular inhibits the world building of an “older world”. The story writing is cheesy and too eager—it reads like a younger sibling’s high school fan fiction.

I was lucky enough to be a beta reader for An Empress of Air and Chaos and let me tell you, this will be one hell of a debut novel.

I’m a big fantasy fan and this one had everything I wanted. A strong protagonist, a brewing romance (perhaps more than one love interest 😏 I can already see the debates about who is the One🔥), a magical world that still holds mysteries to be uncovered, and surprises that will leave you wanting more. This is just the beginning of Emara’s story and I can’t wait to continue to follow her journey 🗡✨

As I received an advanced copy, I know some things will still change but I can already tell the final version will be even more amazing. I can’t wait to dive back in whenever book 2 is at that stage. Noelle Rayne is definitely an author to follow✨

"Pushing the boundaries is the only way a woman can make a path for herself in this world."

What an exciting and interesting book to read! The book was pretty thick but I finish it in just 2 days because it was so hard to put down!

The plot is well written and well paced. Multiple POVs, great main characters and a strong opening never makes me feel bored reading this one.
The writing style makes it easy to understand how the world works here and the world building is fascinating! It's magical and filled with creatures fantasy readers would love like shifters, witches, demons and Fae.

I love Emara's character, she's a bold and strong heroine. She didn't settle for something easy and simple, deep down she craves adventures and a challenge.
What makes me keep smiling when reading this book is the bantering she keeps having with one of the Blacksteel brothers, Torin. Torin may keep a cool, bad boy and uninterested facade on the outside, but he actually feels a lot and he thinks it's a weakness due to his father's lesson.

There's a love triangle in this book among Emara, Torin and Gideon (Torin's brother). I didn't hate it but it was making me feel slightly frustrated when Emara keeps feeling some things towards both brothers (this is why i hate love triangles hahaha).
I hope in the next book, there will be no more of this love triangle!

"So I told myself I wouldn’t settle. I wouldn’t settle for anything mediocre. I would settle for nothing short of breathtakingly powerful love that awakes your soul and stimulates your mind.
I want a purposeful love, and I think that it’s more than just settling for the first guy who shows you affection."

However despite all of that good things, I still feel the secondary characters are slightly undeveloped. For example Callyn, she's Emara's best friend/sister (not by blood) but somehow I didn't feel that strong friendship bonding between the two of them.

Overall, for a debut novel this is very enjoyable and entertaining! A great introduction to start a series! There are still a lot of things to explore, the world building, the secret prophecy and the hidden power Emara has so I hope we'll be getting more of that in the next book.
I'm really looking forward to read the sequel!!

Wow I absolutely loved this one! It took a bit to get into it (usually common with me with starting a new fantasy series). But once it got going I loved it!!! This was the Fiction Addiction Book Club read for August, and I can’t wait for our final discussion.

This is a new adult fantasy. This is from an indie author and I highly recommend it. This book follows Emara, she lives a quiet life with her grandmother and friend Cally. One night her entire life is rocked by the appearance of demons at her door. She realizes there is an entire supernatural world she has not been aware of. The Blacksteel Brothers, trained demon hunters, rescue her and bring her to this world she never knew existed….that’s all I will say as there are so many twists and great plot I don’t want to spoil it.

The Blacksteel Brothers of Torin and Gideon feel very reminiscent of the Salvatore brothers in The Vampire Diaries, AND I AM HERE FOR IT. They’re badass and I’m a sucker for Torin’s sass and character. The world is rich and I can’t wait to see what happens next! The second book comes out in September and I preordered it. I highly recommend this book. This book has great characters and plot. The world is great and I love the politics of a fantasy world. A really solid start to a fantasy series.

BUY THIS BOOK YOU WILL THANK ME LATER!!!

This is Noelle's debut NA Fantasy and it's off the charts amazing! Seriously, this is everything a fantasy lover could want - witches, demon hunters, shifters, fae, magic, and mermaids! The characters are well developed and the POV switches enough that you get a good feel for the 3 MCs without it being overwhelming or confusing. I really love how Noelle explained the magic system and history without it being a huge info dump. The world building is fantastic and I feel like I can see/smell/hear everything that's going on. Brilliantly written! Lol, you know it's a good book when you're still thinking about it a week later!

The 3 MCs are everything! All the feels!! No spoilers here but I did switch from Team Gideon at the beginning to Team Torrin at the end. I can't wait for the rest of this series!! Congrats Noelle!!! This book was amazing! I ended up reading it in one sitting!!! I couldn't put it down! I highly recommend this book!!!

NOT FOR ME.

BLOG || INSTAGRAM

I tried. I tried to enjoy this book but there were some issues that I just didn’t click with. I’ll be brief.

The writing itself was perfectly fine, BUT it came across as making the main characters seem much more juvenile and modern. The way some phrasing and style choices were used that I didn’t love.

And the love triangle romance seemed to be between the main character and two brothers. That’s got to be my least favorite iteration of this trope.

I will not be continuing this series.

Overall audience notes:
- Fantasy Romance
- Language: a little
- Romance: kisses
- Violence: moderate
- Trigger/Content Warnings: assault, murder, loss of loved ones

Overall ⭐ 5/5
Spice 🌶 1/5

This book follows the story of Emara and her best friend Cally as they live in the Tower with the Hunters.

Emara wants to be more then the demons next victim and works with Gideon and Torin Blacksteel, brothers and warriors.

You'll see the characters grow and come into there own and I can't wait to read the next book.

I am absolutely shocked this is Noelle's first book! I loved it! Her writing style flows beautifully and I was sucked into the story quickly. Highly recommend!

Where do I even begin? This book was so much fun! There was never a dull moment. I needed to keep reading and watch this story unfold. I loved Emara as a main character. She was strong, fierce, and knows what she wants. She wasn’t stupid. And the Blacksteel brothers?! The tension and banter in this book was top tier. I also absolutely loved the relationship between Emara and her best friend Callyn. I will be anxiously waiting for book 2!

LOVE LOVE LOVE - run don't walk to buy this book

Incredible - Magic, feisty MC and a love triangle! Everything I want.

Such a great fantasy romance novel! The characters are so well developed and I love the World the author has created. I am not a huge reader, but I couldn’t put this down and read it in 3 days! I need the second book now.

“He lowered his lashes before speaking in a low, husky voice, ‘One day you are going to want to kiss me. You are going to want to experiment with your feelings and step outside that bubble you have lived in for too long. You are going to want to
explore your deepest and darkest desires.’

She couldn't breathe, not when his face was so close to hers. She could see the air from his breath swirl past her.

‘And when you do, I will be waiting for you.’”

Okay okay okay, I finally understand the hype!!!!

I loved the magic system. I loved the combination of Hunters, Shifters, Witches, and Fae (which we haven’t seen yet but here’s hoping 👀)

I absolutely adored getting to hop around different perspectives, and Emara as our MC was perfection. She’s been through so much and still doesn’t let it break her.

And for once, I’m here for the love triangle! But only because I think I know which direction it’s going to go, and I’m firmly on that particular team 👀

This book had plenty of action, but just enough quiet, soul-seeking moments to balance it all out. I loved the banter, the secrets, the betrayal and deception, ALL OF IT. I need book two RIGHT NOW kthanks.
