It was never supposed to get this complicated. In her quest to find herself as a woman, Cyra unknowingly created a war between two men who share the same bloodline. Her intentions were never to cause confusion but her choices has provoked her one true love to turn against her and she doesn’t know how to fix their rift. The betrayal Kadon feels from Cyra is almost gut-wrenching. Regret pools deep inside his being while trying to come to grips that the woman he gave his heart to betrayed him in a way he never saw coming. On top of his heartbreak, Ennio is still breathing while setting up traps and for Kadon that is a problem. He creates a plan to take his enemy out but comes into more trouble than he was prepared for. In this explosive finale, we find out which is more dangerous, the heart or the war.
The finale to this series was great. It left me wanting nothing any question I had were answered. I feel like there’s a story to be told between Esha and Rye. I forgive him a little bit and would like to see him find happiness. I loved that Kadon was true to himself in every book. He irritated me at times because that man is so stubborn. He has to be a Taurus 😂 Cyra definitely irked me but I’m so happy she got the life that she deserved. I can’t wait to see what’s next from Charae.
I enjoyed the finale. The drama was endless. Kadon was all over the place about his feelings about Cyra. He did love Cyra though it seemed like he was always upset with her. Cyra seemed to always be in trouble though or would make bad decisions. So glad Cyra took Kadon’s advice about not listening to her “tacky” friend Esha’s advice...lol. Good job, Charae Lewis!
Charae is an insta-read for me. She did not disappoint. This story had twist after twist.
Can I say that Kadon might be the most ornery, callous, arrogant, MMC I’ve read about! Whew, he was a damn handful. A true control freak in every sense of the word. The way he would speak to his grandmother. I was like wthhhhhh, this man is really something else. One thing he was…..consistent. So temperamental. I am still team Rye, cuz Kadon irked me so bad.
Young, naive, sweet natured Cyra. Poor girl. She was put through the wringer from start to finish. I wanted to see her win. I wanted her to drag Kadon sometimes but I understand that she was young and Kadon was her first love and also 11 years her senior. The moves she made was very on brand for a 22 yr old. She had a lot of learning to do but once she gained that confidence, it was on.
This series was so awesome and well worth the wait. Kadon was a force to be reckoned with I'm just glad that him and Rye were able to clear things up. I had a feeling that he was going to knock Cyra up when he didn't pull out in time.
This series started off really good! I enjoyed books 1 and 2. Book 3 I was not a fan. Kadon has to be one of my least favorite lead male book characters. He was toxic throughout the series. He had a nasty temper and was way too controlling. It was hard to believe that he was a Don when he lacked emotional maturity and control. I saw no growth in him whatsoever. He didn’t have enough decency to have respect for his own grandmother. Even in the final pages on the book, he was still a nasty person. In books 1 and 2 I really liked Cyra. I felt like she was young, naive, and endured some major trauma. I would have liked to see some growth in her in book 3. Throughout this series, she allowed Kadon to talk to her any kind of way. He treated her like crap but yet she still wanted him like a sad little puppy. Even when he was wrong she never held him accountable for his actions. I felt like her being a victim of human trafficking was definitely glossed over. It just disturbed me that the author allowed a victim of such terrible crimes to be matched up with such a nasty person like Kadon. He might not have been physically abusive but he reinforced a lot of fear in Cyra. He was way too aggressive, angry, and controlling to be the right guy for her. She would have been better off with Rye. I actually liked him a lot. He was the type of man that I felt Cyra needed.
I honestly shouldn’t be surprised by anything Charae writes😭. This book was sooooo good. She took us on a rollercoaster ride filled with emotions and jaw dropping scenes back to back chile! Kadon was a boss through and through who took no prisoners. I mean the epitome of shoot first and ask questions later. A brute of a man who only cared about his paper and his beautiful grandmother Nonna. He was big on respect, and even bigger on loyalty. One request from a fellow Don put him in a predicament that he never saw himself being in with Cyra. He was solid from the jump, but with Cyra his loyalty to the family was tested. Kadon was a complex character. From the start, he wasn’t interested in relationships with women. The issues of his past with his mother caused this. But as time and opportunity presented itself being with Cyra put an ease to his fears in women. At times I thought his emotions were all over the place because even though he never said it in the beginning, he was falling for her. When the two were together I was loving the banter. Kadon ol’ mean ass lol. Now when Kadon was on a war path? Stay clear! Cyra background was sad. Going through hell and back, I instantly knew what was going on with her when she was introduced. Seeing the character growth as the story progressed in Cyra was amazing. I felt that she had a right to be cautious with her last secret. Kadon was uncontrollable with his anger. With the state of their relationship mixed in with her background made her so protective of her secret made sense. I was also happy with Kadon’s self awareness and acknowledgement in his part of their issues as well. Overall, this book is definitely a must read. The Mafia drama, secrets being uncovered, and a love story between two people who where never suppose to be kept me entertained. There’s so much other things I can say, Rye😭, them wack Uptown crew😒, Ennio 🙄. Nothing was left unsaid. I have to say that as Charae keeps putting books out, they get better! Another series penned by Charae!
Awww! I was so happy for Cyra. Kadon was definitely on some other ish because he was in his feelings. I'll admit I thought Rye was foul until I realized why he didn't step in to help Cyra. Kadon was big mad and his actions with both Cyra and Rye showed that. Makayla was a straight bitch and I didn't have an ounce of sympathy for Ang. Ang was so busy trying to keep Cyra from telling but still got caught up. Kadon really needed to work on his attitude because he was on some craziness whenever he got in his feelings. Kadon putting his pride to the side for Rye was a shocker but I applauded him for it. I was proud of Cyra for wanting to better herself and not waiting on things to get better between her and Kadon. Kadon's reaction to Cyra's secret was too funny but I understood where he was coming from. I was shocked at everything concerning Gino. Although Esha didn't give the best advice it was clear she truly was there for Cyra. Rye and Kadon surely weren't how they used to be but both realized they needed each other and got past their issues. There were so many obstacles showing Cyra and Kadon why they could never be but in the end their love for each other overpowered it all.
This series from start to finish was so good. How can a heroine and hero work your nerves so bad and you still love them . It's because the author knows how to write a book. I love when authors draw you in and make you dive fully into the story and make you not want to put the book. Cyra past is so traumatic but she survived it with the help of Don Kadon. She was never supposed get out , but her savior is not what she expected. Kadon didn't think his feelings for Cyra could be this intense but what happens when the thing you want so bad jeopardizes your relationship with the other Don's.Kadon has to make a choice loyalty over love. When you have to do the right thing when that thing is letting go someone you care about. This is the decision that Kadon has to make but the events the follows will drive you bonkers but it was oh so good. I can't wait to see what the author does next. Bravo Charae Lewis Bravo.
This was a really good series. I loved me some Kadon with his mean self. I actually liked his demeanor because it was realistic and more in line since he was a Don and not some average guy. I loved the growth that the two characters embarked on, individually and together. I would scratch my head sometimes at how naive Cyra was especially when it came to letting her friend hype her into some of the bad decisions she made. But I understood her naivety since she didn’t have a great example of relationships and love due to her circumstances. I will say I was glad she stopped taking advice from Esha. That girl gave horrible advice lol. I liked the realistic ending with them even a year later still trying to figure it out since this is all still new to them. Great read and looking forward to the next read by this author.
I love this author and she is an amazing writer. This series didn’t hit for me like the other ones she has written. I loved the way it started off but for me it got murky. Kadon walked away from Cyra and that led to a domino effect of events. He threw tantrums out of anger but didn’t accept any responsibility for the chaos he caused. Cyra and Rye were wrong for hanging out, but he was wrong for not being honest. He could of straight up told his cousin how he felt about Cyra instead of trying to be a bully towards someone who had just as much heart as him. He blamed Cyra for being naive but she was young and had lived her life trapped, her entire life that was to be expected. It was a decent read and I will definitely read whatever is put out next by this author, but this one didn’t hit for me.
I've read all the books in the series and enjoyed them but at no point did I really like Kadon. He was a self-righteous jerk. Spoiler alert: That never really changed. To be a don he was impulsive, quick tempered and emotional. I'm confused as to why Cyra was so in love. I can see Cyra caring for him due to him rescuing and providing for her but other than that nothing. He was mean, manipulate and verbally abusive. It wasn't until 84% in the last book that he really showed a little bit of growth and not storm away like a kid when upset. He was upset about her not telling him about the pregnancy but who could blame her when he has anger issues and his actions are so unpredictable. Let's not forget she literally ran from him and locked herself in a room away from him.
I hate that this series had to end because it was just that good. What a rollercoaster these characters have put us through from scandal, secrets, drama, love triangles and finally growth. Kadon the Don was something else, you never knew what you were going to get with him when it came to his mood. But you couldn't help but to love him. Although Cyra had a rough life and dealing with Kadon at times wasn't any better, I do love that she began to grow and get out on her own. There was no denying the love these two had for each other and Im happy they were able to pull through. Highly recommend reading this series and looking forward to what Ms Lewis has in store next.
Omfg!!! This book had my emotions on an all time high. It was driving me crazy wondering what was going to happen next😂 Now what I will say is I wasn’t expecting things to happen between Kadon and Rye like they did. When it came to Cyra and Kadon I was holding my breath so much🤦🏾♀️ not going to lie I definitely wanted Cyra to boss up and leave. Not even worry herself but she really loved Kadon. I felt so bad, because she couldn’t help that things kept happening to her. I think everyone forgot what she went through. Once again I really enjoyed this book. Not going to give to much away.
Whew, what a read. First of all Kadon is a headache. LOL! I believe if Cyra had more than one man that loved her (NOT Rye and definitely not nasty Ennio) then Cyra would have easily been able to move on from Kadon. Honestly Kadon really never needed to question Cyra loyalty because she kept coming back to him. Yes, Kadon saved Cyra from Ennio BUT Kadon treated Cyra emotionally bad also. Kadon seemed to get a little better once he found out Cyra was carrying his child. BUT man oh man Cyra is the real one out of these 3 books because she put up with a lot of Kadon’s foolishness. LOVED the entire serious!
I kept waiting for it to get better but it was toxic to the end
Kadon was spoiled, immature and toxic to the last page. It was interesting that the character portrayed as being a “boss” was abusive, controlling yet out of control and that somehow made him a boss. I won’t even get into how the author tried to gloss over human trafficking and yet had the main character throwing that in her face but “he loved her.” It was just soooo many things wrong but overall we must stop glorying abusive toxic men as alphas and their controlling attention as something akin to love. I love and support our artistry but we’ve got to do better. This isn’t love or romance.
Kadon’s mean behind isn’t too bad. Actually, a lot of his antics was justified because Rye and Cyra were so sneaky. Lol. I loved that Cyra finally gained a backbone; it took a while but she finally stood on her own two feet and went after her own dreams. I respect her so much for her growth. This finale was really good! There was a few twists that I wasn’t expecting and a lot of blood shed (as expected) but I couldn’t have asked for a better ending. There was no denying that Kadon and Cyra would find their way back together; their connection was too deep and their love was obvious. Great series!! 🙌🏾
The plot was solid. I was definitely invested the whole series. However, Cyra, Kadon and Rye all worked my last nerves. First of all, Cyra was the weakest and whiniest lead female character ever. I know that she went through a lot of trauma but still….she was a hot mess. She was dumb as ever throughout the whole book. Like some of her decisions were beyond questionable. Then Kadon and Rye were two of the most emotional gangsters that I’ve ever come across. Then lastly, Kadon was mean and I mean, MEAN to everyone even his Nonna. I did not like him at all!
Swear I needed to be a character myself in this book just so I can get everybody the business this was well written love the character development in book 1 we got to see the drama built up in book 2 for 3 to be the finale I got all my answers even though it's not the way I would have played it out.. If I was a character everybody would have been fighting everybody there would be no forgiveness my pettiness would have kicked in all the way around to everybody including Gino and the grandma.. Lol.. Loved it sis good job!
This series was ok. I didn’t really care for the characters. Kadon was an arrogant, cocky SOB (and not in a good way) that never changed. His character showed no growth. I didn’t like how he treated Cyra. He got on all my nerves. Everything had to be his way… he wouldn’t listen to anybody. Why he was so mad at Gino and Nonna was beyond me. They were only doing what his father asked. The whole series was too wordy so I skimmed through a lot. The ending was unfulfilling. Glad it’s over.
This series pulled everything outta me... OMG!! Kadon's cantankerous spirit kept me in stitches. Nobody is exempt from that rage, but my Ohhh my....he loves so darn good!💯 Three books into Kadon and I am so satisfied! Charae left nothing to the imagination... her creative descriptive words definitely had me spending the entire day with meanie!! 🤣🤣 Thank you for a wonderful journey in Kadon & Cyra's world! 🎉🎊🥂🍾👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I feel like kadon was acting too much like a b word!!! Like seriously....... especially when it came to nonna, when all she did was take care of him and care about cyra. I was happy when cyra decided to go to school and do something for her finally. I still don’t like how kadon treats cyra like she can’t have a day in nothing at all. Everything is always his way and that’s it. It’s like she traded in one evil for a lesser one
That's what immediately comes to mind when I think of Kadon, The Don! Poor Cyra just never knew what she was going to get with him! And that right there was the best part of the story for me...the many moods of Don Amaro! This final installment was just as entertaining as the others, with a few more twists thrown in to keep me thoroughly engaged! Well done Charae! It's been a fun ride, even if it wasn't intentional 😂
This was such a bomb a## series!! I love me some mean behind kadon !!love him! Cyra did get on my dam n nerves a bit much but over all I liked her too! I think I like rye but umm idk lol!! The drama that was happening left and right babbyy it was everything! I would I've to see more of mister Kadon the Don as a daddy and if they will actually get married and I would like to see cyra kind of boss up but it was the BOMB as USUAL!!!
I have to say Charae Keeps me cursing her out so bad. And I love a book that Will have me wanting to fight the author. Lol. It means they have done a great job. We don’t always get that ending we want and that was the case here because throughout the whole series Kadon was a Menace. Although he was the main character he was the Villain and I wanted him DEAD! You hear me. DEAD. HE was supposed to be a savior to someone who was trapped, abused mentally physically and emotionally and he turned around and did the same up to the very ending. Yeah yeah yeah he was who he was and didn’t change his was and I’m not holding it all against him. Cyra was knew her life with her husband wasn’t right so I don’t put it pass her to know that the way Kadon kept treating her was unhealthy as well. Now On to Rye...He was really that N$!ga and Cyra didn’t even deserve to know him a little bit. She played with my man. Put him in a situation with his cousin that made me Hate Kadon even more. Charae really wrote this series well and it’s definitely worth a read.
3 books later and Kadon was still as controlling and crazy as he was in the first book. I don’t understand why we keep portraying these abusive, controlling and toxic traits as love. I kept waiting for Cyra to grow up but she never did. Down to the last page, I felt nothing but stress. If you’re looking for a great read, honestly this is not it. I enjoyed all of the other books by this author but I wasn’t impressed with this series.
They could never be but love has the last say. I loved, loved this series. I have never been a fan of forbidden love because who gon check me boo lol but a great story will trump your preferred tropes and genres any day. I was so satisfied with the way their story ended, especially their growth. I was also really glad Kadon and Rye are in a better place. I do hope Rye gets his own story one day too. Such a dope read.
Kadon worked my nerves. I have never seen a man who holds grudges tighter than a vise grip. His mom did a number on him. Cyra just wanted love from people that see looked at as family. This poor girl finally got some kind of break. Rye needed to love his mom from a distance. She's the reason for him not being able to find an authentic relationship with a women. Great though!!
This series was definitely something else. I am glad Rye and Kadon was back it again being teams. Ennoi got what he deserved so did Angie and her family. Gino I get he was being loyal to Kadon pops but he could have still said something now they relationship might not be the same. I am glad that Cyra was able to still have a best friend who has her back. Am super glad Cyra and Kadon for it together and had a mini me. Awwww y'all need to read this series.
This book was everything Kadon had me on the edge of my sit never knew what he was thinking. Cyra had Kadons heart but it was so hard to understand him. Rye deserved what Kadon gave him but there bond was solid. You will not be disappointed this book had me on an emotional rollercoaster but it was worth every page I read. Charae Lewis job well done 🔥💜🔥💜🔥
