Set over one 20 minute period on a busy afternoon, the tenth book in the series sees familiar characters return for a day that highlights just how quickly things can change.
Success. Failure. Wrong decisions. Chance encounters. And plain bad luck.
It only takes a second for life to change. So imagine what can happen in 20 minutes...

We did it bitches!!! If you are reading reviews while reading the series, then you and me have hit the half way mark in this series and it feels damn good.
Book 10 seemed to be a set up. Lots of foundation laying for the upcoming book in Vegas. I understand the need but it's not always the most exciting, however had the author just randomly started writing 10 plus UK residents in Vegas I would have been irked.
So up until these last two stories I was feeling some kind of way about young Harry. Do you remember the first few seasons of The Walking Dead how there were memes and a running joke about "Where's Carl??"??? This is because that damn kid was always up to something during a damn zombie apocalypse and couldn't' stay out of trouble. I was starting to feel like that with Harry. How does this seemingly innocent and kind natured boy keep getting into shit?? I am so glad that this story as well as the last were positive. I don't know if his mom can handle anymore after school special level events. LOL
Carol- I've been over here for a while now. I get it she's a pessimist and a hypochondriac. I have a feeling there is more going on with her husband than the doctor's can find but I just don't see why we have to keep doing check ins. It was nice to NOT have her being paranoid in this storyline.
Curits, April, Abdul- snore fest for me. I like Abdul don't get me wrong but his chapter was boring. Ronnie is becoming one of those villains you like. Like James Woods as Hades. He's bad but you can't help but like him a little.
Kelly - What a petty bitch. She's the definition of petty and crazy. I am actually excited that her presence in the series has grown. I feel like we were missing psycho ex vibes and it's good to see the author is diverse and supports gender equality and not just giving us bad men.
Mark- When mark and his wife were first introduced with their sick son at Halloween I felt some kind of way. I thought well now I'm going to have to read about a child's passing. And not a quick one where the shock fades but a long sad journey. But that's not how this is playing out. Instead this is a dad willing to do anything to bring his son joy and never stop fighting for a new day with him.
It looks like a majority of the characters are going to Las Vegas. Lives' are sure to be changed. I wonder how many Londoners will run into one another in Vegas, and thus, change each others lives.
We have hit the halfway mark in the series! Taking place two weeks after "20 Minutes of Valentine's Day", this one is a whole lot of foundation setting up for the next book in Las Vegas.
Lots of returning characters. Jelena kicks things off again and I'm happy that things are back to normal for the young couple. I was devastated when she walked out on Christmas Eve that I actually scanned through the next few books to see if they got back together! lol She and Bogdan are so wonderful together and while they may not have much, they have each other. But then something is just around the corner that is about to change their lives. After all, wasn't what this book was all about? 20 minutes to change a life? And that's exactly what happens...to more than one person here.
I'm glad to see Harry do something that doesn't see him end up in some kind of trouble. I was so thrilled for him. Especially as my dad's football team is also West Ham having been West Ham born and bred, so the team kind of holds a special place in my heart, as does Harry.
I'm getting a little tired of Carol's medical appointments for her and Steve. So it was refreshing to see something different this time round, even if it was reminiscent of a season of Dexter about the motivational speaker he then killed because of his penchant for taking what he want because he believed it to be his. The guy they listened to at the event reminded me of him. Seeing it believing? No, believe it and you'll see it! I'm not saying it rubbish, but they do tend to just make money off of people who are looking for something more by spouting a bunch of motivational quotes. This chapter may have been a refreshing change from Carol's normal narratives, but it was somewhat more boring.
Tom's wife Kelly. She's just nuts. Petty and insane. She didn't want Tom until she realised he had found someone else. Now she wants him back.
I'm loving the building story between Louise and Will. I don't know what I never noticed they had the same surname before, considering they have both been in the series from the start.
April may have lost her drinking buddy, so what does she do? Take the alcohol to the cemetery and drink her way to oblivion there! Sorry, but all she seemed to do was drink and get blotto before and nothing's changed. She's just more depressed so she's drinking more.
Lindsey is wedding dress shopping because Diego has sprung the wedding date on her and she's in a tizz trying to find something perfect in time. The woman is mad marrying him, but until she sees him for who he really is, I guess nothing is going to change there.
And then there is Valentin...and the team investigating his murders. I can't wait to see how that all pans out for the Russian.
A lot of slightly boring stories this time round. But then as I said at the start, it is all building up to the one is Las Vegas. Great. Sin City. Just what I've always wanted. I hope it is better than I anticipate.
Not the strongest in the series but reasonable. First of them all I have rated a 4. Bring on the next!
Finally. One of the tightest, most connected entries in the series so far. 20 Minutes to Change Your Life does exactly what the title promises. Not just for the characters, but for the momentum of this whole saga. Very few new characters. And while there’s still some filler in the POVs (both from returning and new characters), it dropped my rating from a solid 5 stars.
That and the random, contrived way Hurst keeps inserting inspirational quotes. Every character suddenly has a life-altering quote from Beyoncé, Carol Burnett, or a cat poster. And I’m like… sir. Please stop. Live. Love. Laugh. Ugh.
The arcs are deepening and becoming more interconnected. The tension and consequences are building. And of course, most of these characters are headed to Vegas which is laughably convenient, but I’ll suspend my disbelief for the chaos that’s clearly coming. I’m kind of dreading the next book, though, because I have a feeling that since we’re moving to a new city, the majority of the POVs will be new and filler.
Once again another good book to continue the series on. I would actually love to say something about a couple of characters in the the book but I don't want to put any spoilers in. How to ruin a book by putting spoilers in. Well it does for me.i. I read a series# of 12 books where actually in the series based around the French revolution. Two characters in those books I was interested in. I had not started no 12 as I hadn't had time my mother in law she saw the book and told me something I was hoping for it to happen. I never ever did pick up the last boom. That how much it spoilt it's like this 20 minutes series has or should anyone tell me certain spoilers that literally be the end of this series of book. I genuinely could not go ahead and read the rest . Fortunately no one has. I have not read any other reviews for the same reason
I really enjoyed 20 Minutes To Change A Life by Danie Hurst Book 10 a series of interconnected short stories. Events take place two weeks after Valentine's day.
I love the way each character old and new have all been inspired to change their lives by inspiritational quotes which they encounter in their everyday lives.
"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all." This is very true indeed for all characters whose lives will no doubt change for the better because of it.
I love the 20 minute series & always wait with baited breath for the next one after finishing a book. Many of the characters appear regularly & you really start to believe you know them personally. The stories aren’t all sweetness & light but neither is life. A brilliant read.
Daniel Hurst has produced another brilliant read in the 20 Minutes series with original characters returning and some new ones coming in to keep it fresh. I love reading these books and finding out what happens next to the characters as they go about their daily lives. Some you'll love and some you will want them to get their comeuppance. Have a read of them, you won't be disappointed.
Now we’ll into the 20 minute series and each book takes you further into the characters lives and leaves you wanting more. Love the easy snappy chapters and the interlinking throughout the book and series. Looking forward to the next one
I love Daniel Hurst, however, this book was so boring, no plot, every chapter was about someone’s life and to be honest I think it was pointless…. Maybe I’m missing something
Love this series, but this one was a bit flat, I know it's adding to the build up of the next book, but not much drama in this one, will still carry on reading the series though
Another brilliant book.I love reading what the characters get up too.Bloody marvellous characters first-class storey telling.write more please.fantastic bookseller done
Halfway through this intriguing series, book 10 takes place in London and proves that everything can change in a 20-minute timespan with 20 characters. Loving this series!
Our life can change for the better or worse in a moment. We witness how the 20 minutes series characters lives are effected in some cases life changing moments.
I'm really enjoying this series. We are really getting to know the characters who have been in the series from #1 as we follow their lives. Not all the characters are good people, some just want a better life for themselves or their family. Some characters you'll want to see them get their just deserts.
