Pit If you’ve never called me one, you’ve never met me. I’m a bonafide member of the A**hole Club. Oh, we’ve earned the name. Which is why for the life of me I can’t understand why I’m putting everything on the line for this chick. She drives me crazy, she’s not mine, and she’s a little a**hole herself. However, from the first night I saw her she’s been like a flashing light beckoning me to chase down danger. Yeah, I have a thing for Mayven “Skittles” Jennings. That’s probably why she knows to keep her tail away from me and I’ve kept my distance from her. That is until she needs my help.
Skittles William “Pit” Pitman. Gah! Pit is the last person I want to go to for help, but I need a savage for this task—a savage that’s as good behind a wheel as I am. Pit’s a jerk, but he’s my best option. I have three goals here. 1. Get to my cousin, Shawna, and save her life. 2. Make sure no one finds out what Shawna and I have gotten ourselves into. Especially not our parents—the good old mayor and my aunt that could be the next senator. 3. Don’t fall for the a**hole who storms in and takes control like he always does.
We’ve been seeing things all wrong. The truth changes everything. We can race against the clock or burn the mother*cker down and take what’s ours, including each other.

Saffire has seven releases slated between October 2016 and January 2017 including three new “Brothers Black” books and four new “Legally Bound” books.

Not only does each reader get a chance to meet and hang out with Saffire, she’s inviting her bestselling author friends to join in on the fun. BLUE SAFFIRE is a woman on a mission to share her words and thoughts with the world. She has found her passion in her pen and steams up the pages with her humor, honesty, love and voice. Saffire represents the secret author inside that some of us are too scared to let out.
Saffire and her family all enjoy life in the suburbs. However, life throws her challenges daily and since her diary is no longer enough, she has decided it is time for new outlets for the words she would never say face to face to her friends, family and definitely not her husband. I rarely have a book by Blue that I don't finish, but this book I could not. I tried but finally stopped at 54%. Skittles is a very annoying character. I think I dislike her so much because she reminds me of a very messy friend that I had to remove from my life. I love the banter between Pit and Skittles but the plot did not make sense. Skittles's family are politicians. They could have easily handled the kidnapping situation without Skittles doing all of this extra race car driving. Then Pit and Skittles are both grown and have no problem voicing their feelings about EVERYTHING, but when it comes to how they feel for one another they don't know what to do. I was so over it. I will continue to read the series. This book just didn't do it for me.
This book was just a no for me. The bragging and the car for one and all in all this book equally a NO. I mostly skimmed through it at a certain point. I will attempt book two because I see Tiffany Patterson who is also one of my favorites is involved with that one. These books are tied to my favorite bwwm alpha male books but this one wasn’t it.
Give this story a chance, even if the beginning rubs you the wrong way. There are time jumps that allow the characters to grow. If you enjoy the feeling of Fast and the Furious, then you probably will enjoy this story. It makes me want to read the rest of the books in the series, which multiple authors write.

It was okay. I liked the premise and the characters but I felt like I was dropped in the middle of the story. After finishing Pit, I was still left with so many questions. Skittles' kidnapping being casually mentioned and everyone around her knowing about it and yet the reader is expected to know why and how it happened. The names of the As*hole Club being mentioned and not much description is given. How old are these people? Tak is the youngest and the way he is written I'm thinking he's 16/17 years old. Just a lot of details were missing. I felt the big reveal for Pit was rushed. The next book is Luke. Who is Luke? He barely was in the story and yet he's the one who's book is next? Why not Kelex or Deacon?
The sex is hot. I loved the banter between Skittles and Pit. I liked the friendships. This book would be better if the drag racing to save her cousin plot was not the plot. I'd rather Pit just be a simple friends to lovers story.
I will continue with this series because each book in this series is written by a different author.
Author Blue Safire has teamed up with three other authors, Tiffany Patterson, Ivy Harper, and Tiya Rayne to bing us bibliophiles a whole new series to devour.
Blue Safire has the ability to weave words into magic creating outstanding reads. Her talent captures your imagination, send your heart racing, and ultimately stays with you for years to come. The starting book in this new series,Pit from The A**hole Club is no different.
******Pit****** “Give me a sec,” I say and swallow as she looks up at me expectantly... ...“I want to be in your arms when I take my last breath,... I want to know I lived a long life, I enjoyed my days and nights, and that I did it all with you. When I wake in the mornings, I reach for you because you’re my anchor to this world. If I can touch you, anything else I need to do is more than possible. Do you know why?” ******Skittles****** “No,” she says shakily. ******Pit****** “Because you were the impossible. I never thought I’d get to hold you, never thought I’d get to love you or have your love, not like this. I’ve wanted you for so long but having you... That was some impossible shit. You’ve taught me how to love, Mayven, not just protect, but love. I want to spend the rest of my life loving you and learning ways to laugh more, smile more, breathe more. You, you are the reason I breathe these days. I need you to survive,..You already know I’m not giving this pu$$y up, so Mayven, you marrying me or what?” ******Skittles****** “Oh my god, you just took the most perfect proposal and messed it up, you a**hole,... I hate you so much." ******Pit****** “Is that a yes?” ******Skittles****** “That’s an I want a do-over.” She pouts. ******Pit****** I drop to my knee and pull the ring out. "I had a feeling you were going to say that. I can’t breathe without you, baby. Spend the rest of your life with me. Be my wife. Let me give you the world. I love you, Mayven. Will you marry me?” ******Skittles****** “That was better. Yes, William Nicky Knight, I’ll be Mrs. Knight. You’re stuck with me, remember?”
This installment will have tingling and vibrating with the all the drama, romance, and suspense tangled in this tale. I honestly can't wait to start the second installment of this series. You can find the series on Amazon Kindle Unlimited!!!
This was a great read, I enjoyed the storyline and the main two characters. The men of this club were great as well. I can't wait for fine out who wants them hurt \dead.
Blue you have really out did yourself with this Book. When you say that you put your all into this book, I can tell and definitely know you did. This book is full of raw unfiltered emotions. The love that Pit and Skittles have for one another is so incredible! The whole storyline had me in awe of the skills you possess! I can't describe to you in words about the way this book has me feeling. I've used a half of box of puffs with lotions, I've went into my toy drawer a couple of times because my hubby was not in reach..... gurrrrrllllllll you had my lady parts on fire!!!! Wheeeeeewwwww Chile!!!! I can't wait to buy and read the rest of this series!!!!!! Thank you so much Blue!!!! Honey this was so worth the wait! Forever a fan Shell Brown
I was disappointed in this one. Like, a lot of the beginning could have been shaved off. So much of it was needless backstory where the set-up could've happened quicker. Pit really had a thing for Mayven for 12 years(!) and didn't try to get with her because...
*checks notes*
he doesn't do "sloppy seconds".
...I'm sorry, what?
Now, the author goes through great lengths to display that Pit will fuck any woman willing and he's not shy about using them to get his rocks off. And I'm more than sure that those women he's sleeping with have had others before and after him. Hell, probably while they were fucking him and didn't say anything-- not like he knew. But he really allowed all that time to waste because reasons.
It's even a running gag in here that every time he asks someone in their crew about her and Kelex, they start laughing because it's über obvious (not to him apparently!) to them that she's into Pit, and not into anyone else-- though she does have an unnamed boyfriend who's off-page for the story.
One element that totally brought me out of the story was this pranking they all do, mainly it was the last one Pit lodged against Mayven. It was totally disgusting but when I read that it was just Nutella, it still didn't make it any better!
I think I've said this about the author before that at times, it's hard to tell where the character is in relation to things and people. There were time I had to reread paragraphs to make sure I didn't miss or skip over an event or a transition. It was like there were certain things missing. Also, the editing could be improved. There were typos and grammatical errors, and I still don't like that she has an aversion to using emotional punctuation like exclamation points, ellipses and em dashes.
I know that the next book in this series is written by another author, but I'm honestly not that jazzed to learn more about this crew. So I don't really recommend this. One series of hers I do is the Blackhart Brothers series (Calling Quinn and In Too Deep). I'll be patiently awaiting Trenton's story, hopefully coming out next year.
This is only the second book I have read by Blue Saffire. Sadly, this one was a bit of a disappointment to me. It started off pretty good. I was excited and eager to read about this Club. However, after it went on I found it to be a bit redundant and wordy. The author would bring up past memories, but wouldn't really elaborate on them, which considering how long this book was I thought it should have been included in the mix. And once I realized that 12 years had passed and the main love interests, Will “Pit” and Mayven “Skittles” had not hooked up yet, despite all the sexual tension between them...I was like WTH...lol...it was just RIDICULOUS that everyone around them knew they had the hots for one another except for them! I may get into the next book in this Series because I have enjoyed some of Tiffany Patterson's novels, but not sure if I'll continue on after that one!
This book was great. I loved all the tender moments and the characters felt authentic to the story. Can’t wait for the next book. This will be interesting to see different authors put their own touch to this series
I enjoyed both Pit and Mayven. I liked how they were evenly matched and both intelligent professionals. The suspense was also good. I liked how the author kept them together and we could just witness their relationship get deeper instead of having some made up drama to split them up. The friendship between the crew was also something to behold. Who said men and women can’t be friends ? I am not surprised that his « father » was somewhat involved. As for his mother, although I understand how she felt stuck because of how she was raised, however she’s a classic case of doing the wrong thing and trying to justify it. First off giving her kid her bio dad name is like gasoline on a fire, then to go on with an affair really ? The whole name protection and her haughty attitude about the mob was just too much. If she really cared, after her divorce, she could have run with her kids with Blake’s help. She had years to prepare her escape. She just became complacent and thought that mental abuse was ok in exchange for money. As this is a series, I suspect that we will find out more about the puppeteer as we go along. Something tells me he has to do with the guy who died in the accident. What made me drop a star is that I still don’t know what Ven looks like aside from, black, short and pretty with big lips and ass. Also, some background information on her family would have been nice. Where does her family wealth come from? Was a mother a bodyguard or in the service ? As for Pit, how did he get so successful ? What does he do exactly ? The story about the Knights and the Pitman was confusing. Were they just 2 influential families, one legal the other not or what? Again I know it’s a series but I would have liked some background info on each of the guys as they are such a big part of the story. Anyway I’m looking forward to the next book.
I quite enjoyed this book about Pit and Skittles. While it was definitely far-fetched and a lot silly that it took twelve years for Pit to FINALLY ask the simple question he needed for clarification to pursue Skittles, I liked that they'd developed a friendship in that time. Loved the unconventional job for Mayven and her being the glue for the friendship group as a whole. Also, these two were highly combustible and scorchingly dirty (especially Pit's A+++ dirty talk lol). I also loved the platonic friendship of Skittles and another character and I love when authors understand how important non-romantic relationships are in people's lives.
I had to knock off some stars for the pretty predictable villain because I pegged them very early on in this story (and also the foreshadowed mystery person behind everything that will probably be a presence in the other books in the series). I wanted to know a bit more about the dynamics of the group because some of it is pretty loose (particularly Rhet). Some of the pop culture references for these early 30s characters were a bit too old and dated but that happens a lot. There were also some incorrect word usage, phrasing and minor editing issues which pulled me out of flow a bit. I must say though that the ending reveal and confrontation was HUGELY let down by a obviously incorrect detail used as an excuse for the villain's ire that if the author had just done a quick info search to correct and could have been avoided and would've made that revelation much more believable. It snatched me right out of that scene and annoyed me because it's such an important scene and that detail completely ruins it. For the record male and female gymnasts only share the floor exercise apparatus in common -- the others are DIFFERENT so the villain would not have been on that piece of apparatus at all.
Overall, I liked the relationship and seeing these two be vulnerable together. I'm curious as to how and if the books keep the tone and vibe of the characters introduced in this book and I'm very interested to know the other stories. Very enjoyable even with the stated issues.
This book pulled you into the world of Pit, the A**holes and held your attention from the beginning to the end. The unique character progression. How the characters relate to the descriptive, visual, seamless and smooth flow of the plot. The intense connection you build with the characters and story. The life altering chain of events that changed all of their lives, physically, emotionally and mentally. At the cabin, Skittles made her request to the a**holes....she got the ink pledge. Their bond was sealed.....The A**hole Club. Skittles grief was palpable. They were all there for her. In that moment the light bulb went off for Pitt...it was time for the pledge.... her a**holes for life. That was a turning moment for them all. The twists, turns and slow burn suspense kept you on the edge of your seat. The strife that Pit goes through with his scheming father, his distressed mother and his siblings. The personal, heart wrenching dilemma that Skittles is hiding from the a**holes and her family. Skittles goes to her a**hole, Pit for help, only not divulging why his help is needed. Help, he does, which opens the door and brings to light the machinations of enemies and their manipulations. Life altering secrets are revealed. Actions driven by greed, jealousy and hatred are brought out in the open. I love how the developing relationship between Pit and Skittles is interspersed throughout this storyline. Their funny banter that had me laughing and their sexy sensual romance. I love charismatic, feisty, independent, strong women. Women that will take you down for targeting and threatening someone they love. Blue Safire delivers. The ROTF moments... the glitter in the shower and the nutella. 😂😂 You have to read the book to find out what happened. This was an outstanding book. I read it non-stop until I finished. Grab this book. It is an excellent addition to your library.
DNF 67%. I really hate how the FMC is allowing the romantic relationship with the MMC to compromise her relationships with the other guys in their friend group. This is the girl who dropped her last boyfriend because he was jealous of one of the other guys in the group. This group have been through life or death shit together and she has claimed them as her friends for life and, up until the point of getting with one of the friends in the group, has been good about not letting romantic relationships compromise the bond that she has with each of these men. The minute that her and Pit (1/5 men that compromise her asshole club) get together she's talking about the group needing to change and grow up and her "growing up" is building a life and having babies with Pit. Pit also is possessive of her, when she goes to the show of one of the group and that friend is hugging on her he grabs her from him and possessively puts his arm around her. Already she can't even hug the rest of the guys like she normally would because she's with Pit now. Like everyone realizes that everything is about to change with them being together and I hate that for such a tight knit group of friends.
She's had boyfriends before and she never let them change a thing about her dynamics with the men but she's allowing Pit to change her dynamics with the other men. It was sad seeing someone prioritize a romantic relationship over soul deep bonds and friendships. Close friendships that she's maintained for over a decade. Like ma'am you had it right the first time, if her relationship with Pit was going to change how she interacted with the other guys she needed to dump him like she would've any other guy she was dating. He doesn't get a pass because he's a part of the friend group.

Oh My this is a enjoyable story to read with characters that are easy to enjoy! The hero is someone who just wants to love and be loved. The couple has a connection so strong that not even though they hardly know much about the other. But there is someone who is determined to come between them and sever their bond. Their love story is that a fated love and it will never be denied and a man who loves his woman will not allow anyone or anything to get in the way of him having her because he desires her above all else. This is not just a typical romance, since it has elements that's so surprising and of course throughout the entire time there’s something so unbelievable that’s just simmering beneath the surface, and that along with the depth of passion that the main characters have for each other. It's what makes this book such a page turner. I found the characters and storyline to be my favorite parts but I really enjoyed this story that I hope for a series and oh did I forget about the cliffhanger but I don't mind because it's still worth staying up nights to binge on this story that's fantastic!
I have read many of this author’s books but have to admit I haven’t read one in awhile, what was I thinking?! I read this book in one day and couldn’t put it down. I loved the premise of a group of guys and their ring leader, a girl, who raced cars but was a little worried because the book started off when they were teens and I didn’t want to read a Young Adult book. But the book quickly transitions into a story of how they are now that they’re in their 30’s. The chemistry between Skittles and Pit is so steamy!!!! The book also has a mystery that is also intriguing and I found myself unable to put the book down for both the romance between the couple and the mystery. The secondary characters are also great, sometimes I wondered if they were characters from prior books, there could have been a little more world building or explanation to give us a better since how the characters were all connected. Like I got the sense that Luke and Tak appeared in a previous book. Look forward to the next book in the series.
O.M.G! This club is so original and yet so old fashion... Go Pit
This was so cute and in true MS. Saffire’s banging writing and content. For a 6 book continuation (not a series), Pit was the perfect start, opening, introduction to this club. Truthfully it was Mayven who founded and started the club but finally getting together with Pit, this club became the best that it is now. Now after reading Mayven and Pit I surely hope that the others stepped up their game because these two were the best. I love the way Pit loves Skittles...make me want to be his skittles so he could taste the rainbow 🌈... good job for this, making sure that we go for the others so we could understand everyone. Shawna and Tak, hummmm... I thought it would have been Roman or Kelex who is in the club? Let’s see... In any case the best part for me is the no cheating, no baby mama/daddy drama, just good old family, jealousy and all that jazz. Blake is something else just like Ox and Rhet... wonder if they will be indicted in the club as well as Roman or are they separate outsiders?
Pit is the ePITome of A**hole! He’s brash, abrasive, has no filter, speaks first and doesn’t think about it later, cocky, is irritating and just doesn’t give a f***!
Skittles is light a bright colorful light that shines like a strobe light casting her light all over everyone. She is loyal, loving, fierce, fearless, protective, caring, wild and a bad a**. She ain’t no punk either!
How these two danced around each other for so long is baffling, but once they collided it was beautiful and forever.
This story was sexy, exciting, dangerous and kept me reading until my eyes closed on their own volition. I loved the storyline and all of the characters and how everything came together.
As always Blue Safire brings the fire to every book she writes and this was no exception.
I can’t wait to read the other books in the series but especially about Kelex!
Will "Pit" Pittman and Maybe "Skittles" Jennings meet in the aftermath not a spectacular crash while drag racing. The crash would bring the girls group together as more than friends, a brotherhood. Pit and Skittles spent the first 12 years of their relationship secretly pining for each other until twisty circumstances bring them closer together and make the admit their feelings. This book was so good, Blue did her dang thang! The intrigue was well done and had satisfying conclusion. Pit and Skittles were hot as fire and I loved their interaction as well as their friendship with Luke, Rhet, Take, Deacon and Kelex who will all be getting their own HEA. I gotta admit that both Of and Rome had me wishing they were getting a story too! I can't wait to meet the next A**holes!
I do not think 5 stars was enough. This is one of the best books I have read and now one of my favorite. Pit and Skittles are reason #couplegoals were created. From the moment you meet them you can feel the depth of their loyalty and love for each other and their friend/family. Skittles is sexy, smart, and completely bad ass. She is the one to bring the men together and the force that keeps them as that tight unit. Pit oozes sex and sarcasm, but also proves to be a man dedicated to those he loves. The moment Pit and Skittles meet you can see that the 2 of them ending up together is inevitable. This story will give you all the feels and then some. This series is starting out damn strong and I will be reading it again while I eagerly await the rest of the series!!
Wow. Mind is blown. Will "Pitt" Pittman and Mayven "Skittles" will light your kindle up. This book has everything. Romance, mystery, intrigue, angst, passion, and a strong emotional connection. This book is fire. There is a lot of angst due to the build up over a 12 year period. During that period Skittles develops a relationship with all of the a holes. Skittles is a badass alpha female and Pitt is a strong alpha male who makes no excuses for being a a hole. This is a journey that everyone should experience. It's told in different points of view, no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a hea for now. I say for now because the story continues with each of the other a holes. I can't wait to read Blue Saffire's next love letter to her readers in Kelex's book.
Enjoyed the concept, however the execution went a bit wayward at times. The final plot line didn’t seem necessary and felt like a means to meet a word count.
Mini spoilers below.
Skittles was an enjoyable character until she started to fight the feeling she had for Pit. It just started to go downhill from there. And I felt at time we were forgetting that she was trying to rescue her cousin.
Pit finding out that his dad is not his dad was a bit redundant. It came out of nowhere and was confusing to follow when Blake was trying to explain it in the roundabout way he was.
The middle of book was when you could feel like it was dropped and picked up a few weeks later. The atmosphere just felt different after that.
Your and awesome writer, reading your books lately makes me cry 😭. I miss my best friend, my book partner. I remember introducing her to your books, she always went for the free ones she was apart of the Kindle unlimited. When it first came out you couldn’t get your books on that. I loaned her one of mine to read, she was hooked, she saved and bought your books in order. In 2014 she told us, she had breast cancer, she passed away last January 2022. We would have been talking how funny and good this series is, we also would have discussing how Skittles & Pit was going at it like rabbits which is hot. Laughing at some of the crazy things the A$$hole members do. Thank you 🙏🏾
This isn’t your typical “cute” romance but it’s still very cute! Pit and Mayven’s teen crushes on each other grew into love and marriage as adults… with plenty of smartass comments and softness along the way. A nice balance lol. The story continues with an unexpected twist and a hea!
I was pretty much only here for the romance, though. I felt like the plot with the racing and Shawna (M’s cousin) was distracting because of how surface-level and nonsensical it was. She’s kidnapped (again) for a couple months (?) so P & M have to race their cars to smuggle drugs for some guy for her to be released??? Plus Shawna’s barely mentioned so I wasn’t really invested in her or her story. When she is, it’s a snippet tossed in without much context or detail. 🤷🏾♀️
Dang this book gave me the feels! I love a book when a tough strong man becomes vulnerable and is not afraid to love and Will is a bad a$$ that will knock your face in but loved Mayven so hard.
Will and Mayven meet at a drag race gone bad but there was instant attraction. 12 years later and they have not acted on it until Mayven needs help and Will steps in.
Loved this book. I would give it 4.5 if I could only because the end was tidy as I hoped. It didn’t state clearly whether Thaddeus died in the house fire or who he was working with and whether they were dealt with.
Omgoodness! Where to start? I absolutely loved this book! I wish Blue was writing the whole series! So Skittles and Pit are an awesome couple. I like that the was a build up to their relationship becoming more than just friend. Their friend group was sweet and admirable. Thaddeus, Blake, and his mother, can't remember her name, are WRONG for that little history in his childhood that he was unaware of.......smh. Skittles relationship with her father was cleared up way before the end of the story. Just a great book with great characters, character development, pace of the book was great and the sex! Wowza!
I was waiting on pins and needles on release of this book. I’ve been a fan of Blue Saffire since I stumbled across her in an remake of various fairy tales then I found the Legally Bound series and I was hooked. In this introduction to the A$$holes Series Ms. Blue did not disappoint. I was hooked from the beginning and could not put the book down. Pit and Skittles (yes, Skittles) have a story that will have you laughing, cussing and wishing for your own personal a$$hole. Adding this to your collection is a great move, an investment in yourself if you will. Happy reading!
Listen!!!!! This was my first book by Blue Saffire, but it will not be my last.
I DEVOURED this… like couldn’t sleep because I needed to read more chapter. I dreamt of this book and woke up to tackle so more.
Pit and Skittles were so much more than I was expecting. Based on the quick glimpse of Skittles in Luke’s book- I didn’t think I would like her. But that all changed and it all made sense on why she was behaving as she had in his story.
The only reason I didn’t give this a 5 star, is the abrupt handling of the puppet master. We never got the conclusion, who causes all the drama. I’m hoping that closure will come at the end of the series.
