Unfortunately, there’s only one woman he can see filling that empty spot.
Camille Shepard.

Making her his will take patience. Understanding.
Commitment.
Because he doesn’t just have to prove he can be a good man for her.

****
For the first time in her life Camille Shepard gets to make decisions for herself.
And it’s scary as hell.
She’s been burned by bad decisions before, and now it’s not just her that would suffer. She’s got a little boy to think about.
A little boy who has taken a shining to a certain cowboy.
A cowboy who also seems to have an interest in her.
But Brett is too young. Too handsome.
Too terrifying to consider.
Only he doesn’t seem to understand that.
Every day he shows up, threatening to make her look at him in a way she’s never looked at a man before.
As a protector. A lover.
A safe place.

I absolutely love a story about a broken, yet strong woman who knows she doesn’t need a man to make her happy, but eventually comes to realize she’s allowed to want one. Much as she began the series with Clara and Wyatt finding their true home on Red Cedar Ranch with Brody, Janice Whiteaker creates a beautiful sense of closure to her “Cowboy Classifieds” series with the touching bookend of Camille and Calvin finding the true meaning of family with Brett. I love how Janice interweaves her characters throughout her books, giving us continued glimpses into the lives of the people essential to the concepts of the found family and her signature Girl Gang. In this final installment, Camille moves beyond the brokenness of her past and finally gives herself permission to be happy, to reach for what she wants, to embrace the good, and to get her HEA. And Brett, well, he finally gets to wrap his arms around the future he’s always wanted with the past he never could put behind him. As with the previous books in the series, Janice builds a solid story with minimal angst, but lots of substance and heat. Having met Brett first of all the Pace brothers in book one of the series, Cowboy Seeking Someone to Love is the perfect way to bring this beautiful storyline- about the power of the family you find along the way- full circle.

Well it’s the turn of the final Pace brother to get his book and it’s one I’ve been holding out for.

We knew it would be an emotional ride already knowing Camille’s story. Moving on from an abusive relationship was never going to be easy, Camille had thrown herself into running the Inn, filling her days with hard work and Cal. She’s made a point of keeping away from Brett. However Brett’s got other plans.

Brett makes sure he’s a constant in their lives on a daily basis, ensuring Cal knows he’s there for him. But doesn’t want to pressure Camille.

Following Camille putting herself back together along with the extended Pace families help, and their determination to ensure she knows she’s family and not just an employee, makes for great reading. Plus we get Brett!! and he is just amazing, understanding, with oodles of patience as well as being super sexy, yet more swooning over a Pace brother.

As with the others in the series we get an Epilogue and Bonus Epilogues…..these ones wow!! just blew me away….. I can’t even!!!!!!

Janice certainly didn’t disappoint us with this one, I’m reeling having finished and now I need more.

This was a great read, emotional, heartbreaking, heartwarming and swoon worthy! What more could you ask for.

Cowboy Seeking Someone to Love
Brett and Camille

This was another sweet story.
A broken heroine, who doesn’t think she’s worthy of having any good in her life.
A hero who has loved her from afar for as long as he can remember. And one who’s willing to give her everything.
The last, and youngest Pace brother finally gets his happy ever after. But boy, does he have to work hard for it.
Brett has watched his three older brothers find wives and settle into married life. Something he’s wanted for as long as he can remember. And the only one he’s wanted was Camille. He’s watched her graduate, marry an abusive drunk, raise her son with what little she could give him. Now she’s free of that life, and he wants to show her that not all men are like her ex. He has to be very careful not to push her.
Camille has not had an easy life. After her parents passed, her two older sisters cut themselves out of her life. Leaving her alone in their small town. She married what she thought would be a good man, a good father. But she was horribly wrong. When she finally gets up the nerve to leave, with the help of her friend Mae (Cowboy Seeking a Second Chance) she runs to the one place she knows her husband can’t follow. The Pace ranch. Where she is given a job, a place for her and her son to live. A chance at a fresh start. She just needs to remember she’s the hired help and not part of the family.
Like the other books I liked this Pace brother. He was young, younger than Camille, but was focused on what he wanted. He was very careful with Camille. Letting her see he’s always around. But willing to put his foot down when it was what she needed. He was so good with her son, Cal. Already treating him like his son.
Camille was a great mother. Everything she did was for her son. She did without so he could have enough. She was a hard worker. She worked too hard. But her reasons for not wanting to be with Brett and be a part of the family got old. Fast. That seemed to be her only thoughts. “He’s too young. I need this job. I’m not good enough.” It got old.
Overall it was a good story. A bit of drama when part of Camille’s old life jumps back at her. But for the most part, sweet, and easy to read.
Since this was the last Pace brothers book, I was hoping for a better look into their future lives. We do get an epilogue, which was great. And two extra bits. The first might be difficult for some readers it deals with pregnancy loss. The second sets up the next book that takes the reader to a new ranch and new characters.
A great series. Great characters. Well written. Dual points of view.

Oooo... they are so good.

I love rom-coms, romance novels, and love stories. So I read a lot of them. This is great fun for me, but it means that my personal "market" is oversaturated. It will take a truly great romance to get more than three stars. In case you are interested:

Relyn's personal rom-com & romance novel rating system
5 stars - This book is excellent. It stands out from the hundreds of other love stories I've read, and I loved it.
4 stars - Oh, I really, really liked this one.
3 stars - This was a good, entertaining book and I'm glad I read it.
2 stars - Meh - boring, or overdone, or in some other way just not a good fit for me
1 star - This one stunk.

gah!

This story was AMAZING. Seeing Camille find herself and regain her power and confidence was so empowering. Seeing Brett finally get the woman of his dreams, providing unconditional support and love… **fans myself**

Honestly. Such a wonderful story.

Okay this book was definitely cute! We’ve been teased with Brett and Camille since Mae and Boone’s book so I was definitely anticipating this one!

To start off, we immediately learn that Clara and Brody had their twin daughters, Ella and Faith and that all the past couples are officially married!

Now Brett has been in love with Camille since he was 13 but knew it would never be more than a crush, until she leaves her abusive ex-husband (if you read Boone’s story you already know) and seeks refuge at the Pace’s ranch, where she became the Inn manager. Since then, Brett has tried his hardest to be there for her and her son and that means taking any job at the inn that is available.

It’s pretty obvious to the whole family that Brett is in love with her but Camille is still hesitant. For one, she thinks he’s too young and tries to think of him as a baby, and for two, she thinks she’s used goods, no matter how hard Brett tries. But what happens when Camille breaks her ankle (again) and Brett is suddenly carrying her everywhere, staying in her room and managing the inn? Well obviously some confused thoughts start happening in Camille’s brain.

Camille was kinda frustrating sometimes with how stubborn she was, but it’s also understandable given everything she’s been through. I’m just glad she came to her senses.

Now I need to talk about that epilogue. I absolutely hated it! I was hoping for a cute update on some of the previous couples, not a super sad one from Nora and Brooks. Also since this is technically the last book of the Pace brothers, I was hoping we would get some snippets of each couple but that didn’t happen. I guess we’ll get some in Liza and Ben’s book? I hope so anyway because that epilogue was definitely not it.

I have been waiting for this book. The two main characters have featured in the previous 3 books and little by little we come to realise that Camille Shepard has been to hell and back, suffered far too much. Brett Pace is seeking someone to love and Camille is the one woman he’s wanted, but not been able to have.
Camille doesn’t believe anyone would want her, especially a good looking guy, who is younger than her. Every day Brett shows up, gently helping her realise he is someone to rely on, believe in and love. He helps her gain confidence in him but more importantly in herself, and this makes this book a great read as it’s so emotional and heart warming. Brett has so much patience in his heart to win his lady...a year of waiting, just being a friend, but things are slowly changing for both of them. Just when you think this book is going to come to an end....there is an unexpected twist....... but you need to read it, to find out more.
Another fantastic book from Janice Whiteaker.

Camille has finally got away from her abusive husband. Brett has been in love with her since he was thirteen. Camille thinks he's too young and is not ready for a relationship. Brett has been biding his time, but he's getting tired of waiting. He always volunteers to work around the inn to be close to Camille and her son. Someone shows up at the ranch looking for Camille so the family steps up protection for Camille and her son.

As seen on my blog (Jessie's Reading Corner):
Cowboy Seeking Someone to Love is the fabulous conclusion to the Cowboy Classifieds series! While it can be read as a standalone, I think you’d get more out of this story and series if you read it from the beginning with Cowboy Seeking a Nanny.

Brett Pace is the youngest of the four brothers and he’s had to wait a long time for his chance at love. Camille Smith, who we met in Cowboy Seeking a Second Chance, is a woman who’s trying to put her past behind her. After leaving her abusive ex and taking a job at the Pace’s Inn, she’s focused on providing a better life for Cal, her son. She takes her job very seriously, much to the chagrin on the Pace family, and refuses to take a break. When a foot injury sidelines her for a few days, she ends up spending more time than she would like with a man who she can’t seem to stop thinking about.

I really loved this story! Brett has intrigued me since the beginning of the series. In Cowboy Seeking a Nanny, he seemed like he was the carefree brother that liked to flirt with Clara to get a rise out of Brody. When Camille and Cal came to live with them in Cowboy Seeking a Second Chance, he became more settled, focused and determined. It was obvious he had a thing for Camille but what really got me was how focused he was on making sure that Cal knew what a good father figure looked like. (I loved the walkie talkie scene in Seeking a Wedding Date!)

Camille broke my heart in this story! While she thought about Brett a lot, she tried to avoid him as much as possible in real life; thinking that she was just an employee and that he would never want a woman like her. Boy was she wrong! And when Brett realizes that she has noticed him, all bets are off! (Seriously, the scene with them on the couch when Brett asks her if she wants him to leave…*faints*!)

The scene with Brett, Camille and his truck had me flashing back to the scene in Cowboy Seeking a Nanny when Brett gives Clara a ride to the ranch. Also, Brett putting bananas in his Cheerios brought me back to my childhood; loved adding bananas to my Honey Nut Cheerios!

I loved the glimpses we got of the other Pace family members! Nora cracked me up in the beginning when she threatened to hogtie Camille if she didn’t stay for the party and I loved that we got a little girl gang powwow session when Camille was still trying to avoid her feelings for Brett. I also loved that we got to see more characters that might appear in future Moss Creek series; love those little Easter eggs.

Liza and Ben are next in a new series called Cross Creek Ranch. Their book, Crossing the Line, comes out January 28, 2022! Their scenes in this story really piqued my interest into their story as well as broke my heart a little!

If you like your western romances steamy with no angst, badass heroines and heroes who are protective and know who and what they want in life, then check out the Cowboy Classifieds series! You won’t be disappointed!

DNF - The heroine annoyed me. She would constantly pretend things didn’t happen. It was her way of coping. Ex husband beat her? Pretend it didn’t happen. Son being raised in an abusive household? Pretend it isn’t happening.

New kind boss tells her to take a day off? Pretend she didn’t hear her. New love interest says he cares about her? Pretend he didnt say a word. Hero makes her come? Pretend he didn’t!

It got old. Same as the heroine constantly referring to the hero as a “baby” it made their age difference seem icky.

This may be the best of the series!

I just finished Cowboy Seeking Someone to Love, book 4 in Janice Whiteaker's Cowboys of Moss Creek series. AND I am ready to start reading it again. This book is one of those that you get so caught up in you finish it in one extended sitting, neglecting everything else until you finish the very last word. Then you cry because you are so upset about leaving your new book friends behind. The only answer is to re-read the book, this time slowly, savoring each scene. I am convinced that Cowboy Seeking Someone to Love is the best in the series.

Janice Whiteaker has fabricated her best character yet in Camille Shepard. With Camille you can see how well Janice researched and developed the back story, in order to fully understand the psyche of a woman in an abused relationship for years. When Camille admits finally that things had been bad for so long that good felt wrong, I gasped. In her previous books I felt a strong connection to the female characters. But I found Camille to be the most relatable of all the female protagonists thus far. It is amazing how well- developed Camille's character is and how naturally her relationship with the youngest Pace brother, Brett develops over time.

I also believe this is the most suspenseful of all the books in the series. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, waiting for some horrific accident to befall Camille, her son Cal or Brett and derail the slowly progressing relationship. The story has a plot twist close to the end that had me holding my breath hoping everyone would pull through, as happily ever after did not seem to be a guarantee in this novel! However, Janice Whiteaker is synonymous with romance and happily ever after.

The two added bonuses are the best yet. But make sure to have your tissues ready! The bonuses are a perfect set up for the next book in the series but can hardly be said to be pleasant news for the cowboys and lovers.

Sadly this one was only 4 star because it lacked intrigue, everything just flowed .. guess for this reader it was predictable ..... yet was still a great read.....

The scene with Brett, Camille and his truck ... yummy thoughts..... Brett putting bananas in his Cereal and offering to do the same for Cal...dreamy .... The action scenes were good and brought liza into the story so in the next story we will get her and Ben's story... a good read just didn't quite grab me as the others ...

The last of the four Pace brothers gets his book and it's a great one!

Brett is so sweet. He's been waiting for Camille to recover from her abusive marriage. He's present in her life, but present in the background, allowing her the time and space she needs while he is just quietly there. He understands how little control she had for years and he actively chooses to allow her to have control over her life and their relationship. His care for Calvin is so sweet and done without any sense that this was a way to get to Camille's heart, just done because Calvin needed a decent man in his life.

Camille coped with her difficult circumstances for years by denial and almost dissociating from certain parts of her reality. She has to slowly allow the things she refused to see to become real to her, including how Brett cares about her and her son.

There are a lot of comments about their age difference, but while Brett seems to be about 25, Camille's age is never discussed. It's a bit of a pet peeve - if you're going to make a deal of an issue, flesh it out!

The rest of the family is also present in the story and they are exactly the kind of people Camille and Calvin need to be around. They embrace and love them without conditions and consider them family long before Camille can accept that.

A really touching story of love after hardship amidst a big, loud, loving family!

Highly recommend.

Cowboy Seeking Someone to Love

Brett has loved Camille since he was 13, but due to a slight age difference of Camille being a little older, she didn't even know. She went on to marry a very mean, abusive husband who beat her down both physically and mentally. Once she was able to get her son and herself out of the situation she was at a loss of how to move forward.
Maryann Pace hired Camille to run their new Inn and Camille was doing an awesome job although she worked around the clock and wouldn't allow herself to join in with the Pace family like everyone wanted. Her son was included in all activities but Camille couldn't see herself being happy and believing anything good would be in her life regardless what people said.
Brett wasn't giving up, he knew she was the only one for his life - along with her son of course. After she had a slight accident she is forced to have assistance in the was of Brett's help and support. Will Brett be able to get Camille to finally accept her place in his life and the life of his family? Who had been trying to track down Camille or her son and to what end? Does Brett have the white hat needed to pull everything together on a final high note and rescue?

Brett has been in love with Camille since he was 13. He was a few years younger than her, she ran with the people his older brothers knew. Camille married Junior and had a son Calvin with him. Junior was known around as being a drunk but he was also abusive to Camille. When Camille comes to work with bruises on her face Mae steps in and helps her get a job with Brett’s mom running The Inn that the Pace family is opening on their ranch.

Brett bonds with Calvin trying to show him he can trust a man and how real men act. Calvin not only becomes close with Brett but all the Pace family. Camille is afraid of good, a life of bad has her afraid of losing anything good in her life and how it would hurt Calvin to lose these people who are not really his family. Brett is determined to be patient and slowly show her that she could have a good life with him.

The Pace family and their friends are sticking to Camille and help her through some harrowing times. I loved this story, Brett being so loving and patient and seeing Camille’s character grow and blossom into a woman she was afraid to be.

And the whole crazy gang is along for their journey supporting them. Loved it!

Loved these two. I really love seeing them get their happy ending. Camille has been thru a lot. A very abusive husband who is in jail and sure is carrying the guilt of having her son caught up in the middle of it all. But she is moving on as manager of the Pace family Inn.

Brett has wanted Camille since he was a teen but never thought it was possible to have a shot. But he is taking his time making does she is ready for what he had in mind. And what he has in mind is forever. Being a dad to her son, proving Cal is loved and protected and supported and there are good men out there. And in turn proving to Camille that he is there for the long haul.

Lots of tears…..and don’t even get me started on the end!!! And then THOSE EXTRA BITS?? what are you doing to me? Liza! Nora! I’m dying over here.

Breaks can mend.

What happens when you are at your last chance. You work your tail off so you never end up that bad again. You protect your child and provide for him like you tried to all his life but now you have help. You have people who love you and respect you. Camille was an abused wife who only wanted to provide for her son. She now works at an Inn run by a family that has taken her in and proved to her what real love looks like. I highly recommend this book to anyone who understands that a good man can change everything you believe and a loving support system can defeat evil.

This book was not as good as the first three. I was really looking forward to this one, but I was just missing something. And WTF was the bonus bit with Nora and Brooks, totally unnecessary and kind of made me mad. I get this happens to couples, it’s terrible, but why did the author feel the need to just throw it in at the end of this book. It ruined the happy ending that the series should have been in my opinion. It should have been a much further look into all the couples lives, not some sad tiny little story about just one couple.
The second bonus bit set up Liza’s book and the next series. I’m debating if I want to continue onto that one.

Camille Shepard struggles to remember Brett Pace is just a baby and to behave as an employee not a family member! But Camille’s the only woman patient Brett wanted since he discovered girls! Now Camille is on the ranch and free, Brett’s fallen in love with her son and deeper in love with her and more determined to make her his wife

As this relaxing series winds to a close, it appears loose strings from Camille’s bad marriage still need to be snipped as the family, ranch hands and neighbors are willing to use their own scissors to help. Liza being Liza uses a sledgehammer leading the way to her own story!

A continued Great Read!

Janice Whitaker is a fantastic writer. She pulls you into a world that is full of twists & turns. I've laughed, cried, and wow'd by the way she has the characters perfect & complicated lives pull you in. The way they fall for one another in such amazing surrender! Yes, the love making is So very Hot!
I get so pulled into the world she's created that I have a very hard time putting the books down to get back to my life and things that need to be done.
Thank you for writing an Amazing story line and continuing it into a wonderful series, one that I dread getting to the end.

Great love story!

This was the last of the series and I definitely recommend with starting with book 1. Book 1 mentions Brett right off where you are wanting to hear his story from the beginning but you don’t get it until the end. He loves so much and you can’t help but love him! This book is great, however, it’s worth buying it to read the ending bonus bits! I needed my tissues just for that!! Why oh why would you do that to us?! And we have to wait months for the next book! Highly recommend!!

Heart warming

I loved Brett & Camiles story, this resonated with and i understood Camile. It's hard to make major changes after being used a certain way for so long, however there was no avoiding change with Brett around. Kind patient and loving not just for Camile but her son.

Once The pace family have you in their sights there is no getting away no matter how hard you try. They protect fiercely, love fiercely , and have a bad ass group of females that will always have Yr back.

Can't wait to read more, amazing series by an amazing author.

JW does it again!

As expected, Janice has once again created a situation where the hero and the heroine are such deeply complicated and amazingly real people I find myself thinking I'd love to go visit with them. Brett is such a strong caring man, wow, and Camille, bless her heart, just made my day when she decided that it was okay to have "the good". This is a thoroughly satisfying journey to HEA, and now I want to visit Moss Creek again, and soon. Ms. Janice, are you done yet?

The most romantic book from this author
Non hesitant Hero
Heroine is older but honestly, I don’t remember her age and I don’t care because it’s irrelevant, H is mature enough,
He said one of the most beautiful things to her “I’ve always knew I could treat you better than anyone “…
He always loved her but heroine was married with a son, her husband abused her
Hero love her son like his own, all his family love them,
Very romantic
Read it
The inner dialogue is extensive with this author but their interactions are enough in the book

Brett and Camille

Brett, the youngest Pace brother, is the only one without a woman. He has one but she doesn’t know it yet. He’s been slowly putting himself in Camille’s world for the last year. She divorced her abusive ex and has been running The Inn, caring for her son and avoiding Brett. This is a wonderful book that includes their story including a mysterious person looking for Camille. Brett has his hands full getting Camille to open up and give him a chance. We’ve got the whole Pace family, cute kids, a dog and lots of love.

Great book!

Camille was the ex of the jerk who abused her and her son. She finally got away from him with the help from her new friends and the Pace family. She was given the job of managing the Inn at the Pace ranch. Brett was the youngest of the Pace boys, who was ready for a wife and family. Camille and her son Cal were his goal. She on the other hand felt unworthy and strived to make sure she never forgot she was an employee, nothing else! This is the story of letting go of the past along with the baggage that comes with it.

Amazing!!!

This book was amazing! I was hooked from the beginning! Brett and Camille's story needed to be told and Janice did a wonderful job. This series has kept me on the edge of my seat. Each book makes you want to keep reading. I just can't get enough! They are each fantastic in their own right. You just need to know what happens, that you wake up hours before work just to read and find out what's next. I loved Brett and Camille's happily ever after, but am intrigued at what else will happen! Thank you Janice for taking me on this ride 😍

Worth it!

Been wanting to read Brett's story since book one but it was worth the wait. Love Camille's strength and Brett's determination. Also love reconnecting with the rest of the family. Sad to see it end but I am moving on to Nora and Ben's story. Totally recommend this series, it is fabulous and I don't usually read every book in a series one after the other but this one has been totally worth it.
