REJECTED QUEEN is a full-length (100k+) Paranormal Rejected Mates Romance. Recommended for 18+ due to language and sexual situations
Avery Stone is the new pen name of USA Today Bestselling Author, Avery Song.
With multiple bestselling series, Avery Stone's mission is to broaden her storytelling in the realms of Paranormal Romance, YA -New Adult Academy Romance, and Dark Shifter Romance.
Be prepared for sassy, powerful heroines, detailed world-building, and addictive adventure as you fall in love with her creations.
World build: Complicated and hard to follow. At 37% I should have had an understanding of the world at the least however I did not.
Storyline: This was everywhere. No solid path for the storyline in my opinion this is due the the faulty world build.
FMC: Her inner monologue was extremely conceited. I am all about loving yourself but this chick takes it to a whole nother level.....she needs a good ass kicking. I disliked her more than any FMC I have read....I will stop here.
Rejected Queen was another winner for me from Avery Stone. She does rejected mates so well. They never settle for the past. They deal with the insecurities the rejecting caused, but they move forward and find better. Alexandra is fierce. She's dealt with some intense trauma, and she still manages to not only survive, but to thrive. Maximus, sigh. What can I say about a growly Alpha that gets all rough, but can stand aside and let his woman fight, defend, rise, even manage pain? He's there for her, but beside her as equals, not holding her back like she's fragile. Their dynamic really worked for me. Add in the action, the ramped up steam, and the plot twists, and Rejected Queen comes out as a 5 star read for me.
It seems the old MTV show about spoiled rich kids and their over-the-top Sweet Sixteen parties has been reimagined as a paranormal fantasy character. Instead of a bratty 16yo, the fmc here is all grown up at age 20 and ready to be anointed Queen. Pardon me while I take a moment to lol. The most foundational trait of the fmc is that she has pink hair. If any readers were hoping for more than descriptions of the fmc’s physics characteristics, they are going to be left wanting.
The world Avery stone introduces you to in Rejected Queen is an unbelievable creative take on shifters unlike any I have read. She takes what we taught and makes us open our minds to new creatures, magic and an epic fated mate love story.
Each character is cleverly created down to the last detail that forms an image in ur head unlike wat uve met before...
The plot and premise is brilliant and this totally Makes up for the disappointment I felt from Another rejected mate book.
The sizzling factor is off the rickter, hot, spicy and spine tingling ORGASMIC euphoria .. Lol. I'm not even joking!!!
The first book. Gave us enough action and build up for book 2 which I'm. Starting right now at 1.38am 😂😂 because heck it, I need it lol
Enjoy
EDIT....OKwen u stupidly realise it hasn't been released yet lol.
The second release from this author was everything expected. Alexandra hasn't taken being rejected as a death sentence. She has embraced it and made her own life as a woman who isn't going to let anyone stop her. She knows her worth and she isn't going to let anyone stop her. Until this guy Maximus walks in.
Stone sets up a lot in this book and not surprising given the length of the book. It makes you invested into these characters as this journey is for the long hall. It's not over night magic and these rejected characters have a lot to process . With a cast of characters supporting them. It's going to take a wild journey to find their ending.
Wow, this was not what I expected. Not your average 'rejected mate ' genre. A lot more than that.
The only negative I have to say is the overly long internal monologues that happen mid conversation. Just makes me imagine a lot of these people abruptly stopping their conversations with others to stare off into space and daydream.
So I want to start by saying this is one of my favorite books by the author so far. The FMC is really strong and in the beginning of the book she rocks that strength. Then as the book progresses the FMC slowly becomes bogged down all of a sudden with her emotional baggage. So much so she relinquishes knowledge (you know that saying knowledge is power?) for a fake safety cocoon. Now normally if everyone had this sort of amnesia, it was be an intriguing plot twist but only the FMC has it. It felt like a reset to a weak, in the dark, damsel character arc 70% into the book. Everyone around her knows the truth (thanks to her) but she is walking around like an idiot. It felt like we stepped back and fell into “let the big strong men handle the hard stuff, darling. Wouldn’t want to hurt your pretty little head too much”. It disappointed me, and I lost some respect for not only the FMC but also her supporting characters who are lying to her. It was like the author couldn’t carry the FMC character she first wrote through this series and had to diminish her so she could write more comfortable tropes of women taking a back seat. I’m a bit sad and have a book hangover, I may read the next book but this new direction really isn’t as interesting as the beginning of the book. I almost stopped reading when this all happened.
A brilliant and fiery entrance into this exciting series 🔥🐺!!
Prepare yourselves for quite an emotional ride!! This gem is packed with adventure, intrigue, deception, betrayal, hope, love, and more than a few mysteries along the way. All centered around an amazingly fierce, independent, kick butt female forged from deep pain. I have a feeling we've only just begun to see the strings of the web woven many years ago. Just know this isn't a HEA, so prepare yourself for a huge cliffhanger. You will cheer our Rejected Queen on every step of the way, and take this wild, emotional rollercoaster to the end. I can't wait to see how this all plays out! Brava!!!
I accidentally came across this, but boy am I glad I did. Took a moment to understand how the world shifted, but the story lines and characters were worth figuring it out. I enjoyed the journey even if it basically ends in a cliffhanger that I now have to wait to read since the next book isn’t out yet.
I love this so much! Alexandra is a badass, and I adore her bond with Maximus. Also, I hope to “see” both Cynthia and Grayson get their faces smashed into the ground 🤷🏻♀️
I'm not even sure what to say to describe this book right now. It took me a bit to understand what was going on, but eventually I picked it up. Amazing and Actioned packed are two words that do come to mind though. I can't wait to see what happens next!
BEWARE!! This is a good book with all kinds of goodies but book 3 still isn’t available with no release date insight. There action, romance, magic, good spice, and betrayal. It’s a great story but ready for book 3 to show up.
another enormous book that i couldn't put down! ... love Alexis' strength and empowerment ... so many twists and turns!! ... cannot wait for the next one!
This was such a great book. I loved the ideas of the worlds and the waves. It was interesting she was the one who started them. The next one is going to be great.

Ok this had the potential to be a 5 star book, but it only got 2 because of poor editing.
The actual storyline n plot is really interesting but the major problem is that its so convoluted and complex most of the time I just couldn't get my head around it. So I spent the first 25% trying to work out what the hell was going on. A good editor would have sorted this with the author. It detracts massively from the story. I just could not imagine what she was trying to explain, it was very poorly done.
Notwithstanding I loved the characters and the simplified premise which I did from 25% onwards, I quit trying to work it all out and just let that part of the story go. Once I did that I really started to enjoy the story.
Sex scenes were ok if not repetitive not least screaming MAXIMAS & ALEXANDRA!!!!!!!! ending up skimming through them as I found them boring.
But seriously I can see how many would just dnf this book, its just too damn hard to read!!!
I've read Tolkien, asimov and many pnr authors but a good author deconstructs their ideas into accessible chunks of data that can be understood easily. This was ridiculous.
Also seriously too much inner thought processes, the book felt like it was never ending!!
I will try book 2, not sure I'll finish it though. We shall see.
Rejected Queen is a book that will leave you wondering what could possibly be next for Alexandra and Maximus after everything that has already transpired in just a short time. They both have to deal with betrayals from their fated mates, but instead of letting it weaken them, they grew stronger. They ended up finding each other and it sparked their true connection. I absolutely love them together! I was intrigued by the little snippets from their past lives and the gender swap in this lifetime though, honestly it kind of confused me at first though but I quickly caught on to what was going on. I'm excited to see where Avery Stone is going to take their story, especially after that last chapter and the reveal of the Grandmaster.
My favorite characters have to be Alexandra, Maximus, Echo, Maeve, and Roza.. I'm sure more will come to mind after I finish typing up this review 😅😂
Also, officially on my hate list... Dark Senator, Grayson, Cynthia, Eric, Arwen, and possibly more if the betrayals keep coming and more bad guys are revealed.
On Alexandra/Alexis Wolf’s 20th birthday, she was to be crowned Queen of Flame, mated, mate and receive the rest of her power. She was crowned and rejected by her destined mate. Her mate was actually allied with the Senator, a megalomaniac that had his own plan for her hidden shifter sanctuary and its power, beginning with slaughtering the queendom!
Alexis has no plan but with help from two surviving guards, her goal is to re-establish what was lost. Nature itself seems as brokenhearted as Alexis as waves to different realms begin. For five years, Alexis rides waves, to other realms helping where she can. One day waves come from all directions, Alexis and her companions start together but are separated.
Alexis lands on a ship in the arms of Maximus Atlas, King of Frost and mutually in the throes of desire for him. Max is one of three powerful alphas on board, unable to defeat the wizard attacking them but Alexis does! Soon they’re attacked by a Senator’s minion, who’s shocked to see Alexis, alive and powerful. But it takes Alexis and the alphas to best the minion but before he could be taken out, he’s rescued by someone from Max’s past.
I liked this doorstop of a series foundation but in a word, it was over; specifically, over long, over complicated and over-layered and over-sexed could be added. It took time to invest in the read (for me 30%), it was uneven in detail (i.e. backstory and wave). It felt like book one and two with a cliffhanger ending, confirmed by dangling threads, questions and action. Rating: 4stars
Genre: Paranormal rejected/fated mates Series: Book 1 POV: FMC and MMC Steam: 3.5/4 Format: Read and listen (Not a fan of the female Narrator voice)
When we meet Alexandra its in the devastation of losing her family, her kingdom and her fated mate. Alexandra has a wolf inside her called "Maeve or Eve" she and her only two companions from her kingdom Raf and Edwin are dealing with the consequences of the "dark senator" she carries herself with confidence and knows who she is even if everyone else doesn't. Things get a little out of control when she meets a man that calls to her as if he were her fated mate, she has to team up with him and some other royals to stop the dark senator.
My Rating system
5 Stars- I must tell everyone about this! 4 Stars- Hell Yeah! What a ride 3 Stars- Still in my head 2 Stars- I needed more 1 Star- Interesting enough to finish NO Stars- DNF maybe another time
I was lost for a while. The world set up was confusing this is my second read from this author her other book I followed just fine but this world is still a bit confusing. It was hard to like Alexandra because she has a confidence that comes off as spoiled and entitled and boy she sleeps ALOT like ALOT. Greyson her boo thang was not my cup of tea but I also did not see that twist coming. I for sure like Max he is the best so far he seems to be a great leader, protector and lover. Raf and Edwin are awesome and badass, Maeve not a fan of her or Eve. The whole reincarnated thing is interesting. The sex is hot lots of sex scenes Max and Adam are beast.
So I put this book on my read list months ago when I read the blurb. So I was definitely ready when it finally released. It was so worth the wait! Nonstop action. There may have been a time or 2 when I thought dang when will they get a break. But it definitely kept my interest. Kept me guessing about who was truly an ally and who wasnt. I loved that it was a full length book instead of the little novella or unfulfilled length story. Even though it left off on a cliff hanger I was upset because I wanted more not because it felt like a abrupt end. I love the characters especially the FMC and the love interest max. I love that they are badass with proven strength not like where alot of characters talk alot of mess and there's buildup but they always fumble and need saving. I also appreciate the vulnerable side so they're still relatable and down to earth.. I also love the side characters Ewin, Raf, and Echo. They feel like much more than background but a integral part of the story. There were a few moments where it got a bit wordy or confusing and I skimmed or lost the plot but overall this was a awesome read and I just hate that I have to wait until October for the next book.
DNF 21%. Confusing world building. Also, I prefer for the mates who do the rejecting to be assholes who I root for the main character to not be with. Her mate that rejected her ultimately saved her life in the beginning, but we don't hear anything else about him. That's not asshole behavior. He was your enemy and was there to extinguish your people before realizing he was your mate, he rejected you but then saved your life soon after. That could have been a good story. But instead we get to see her romantic and sexual relationship with a whole other guy, Grayson, who isn't even the main love interest. So now I'm invested in her and Grayson's relationship and feel kinda bad for Grayson when Maximus (main love interest, but not the mate who rejected her) is introduced.
I want to know her actual mate's story, why he saved her, how conflicted he feels, etc. I feel like his "crime" of rejecting her (she doesn't seem to mind that he was there when her family was wiped out by the enemy, her main gripe seems to be the rejection) is something that they could have come back from. The author would have done better by making him a complete asshole, not her savior then writing her into two other relationships with no mention of the actual mate who saved her.

I hate writing bad reviews and I usually don’t even mark the books I start but don’t finish. But I read this For hours before I decided to not finish.
The good, for the 3 stars I gave it.. author has fantastic imagination. I did feel like I was getting to know the main female character and liked her well enough. Main Love interest a group to also like as well.
BUT I was left confused a lot. I don’t understand her having what I think was 4 souls and personalities inside of her. Herself, her wolf , the lady in the crown and she was reincarnated. One was a different gender, The reincarnation part. tI’d be confused because I thought the opposite gender would be speaking and then it would refer to themselves as the opposite gender… I don’t know, I was just left confused a lot. The mate who rejected her didn’t seem like he was an important character actually other than to keep describing how his rejection broke her and was going to taint her being a queen. I thought the story was disconnected from him as an actual character, if that makes sense.
For a bit I thought this was going to be a reverse harem. The mate who rejected her, saved her life after the rejection. And her lover at the beginning was very likable. I don’t know.

This book started out great, and then got a little clouded for me. However, it switched quickly into a much faster pace. I love a good rejected mate story, where the FMC, that was rejected, channels that hurt and pain into retribution. Alexandra is in hiding and fighting in the background to survive. One day she will reclaim what was ripped away in the rejection. Fighting for the few she still has by her side against the darkness and waves of magic hurting most of the world. She is led to Maximus Atlas. Maximus is the MMC you need; a dominant alpha with a sincere heart and protectiveness that calls to Alexandra in every way. They both know the feeling of rejection, so when their wolves claim mate, both are surprised, but jump in with both feet and boy does the passion fly. Oh how this story just throws twists and intrigue at every turn. Wow, this is one story where I don’t see what’s coming and I love it. I don’t do spoilers so you are just going to have to trust me and read this book. I can not wait for the next book.
This is a brand new series that totally blew me away. So much action, love, twists and a completely new world that pulled me in and embedded itself into my very skin it was so fantastic.
Meet Alexandra Wolf, she is a young woman who knows pain and unimaginable sorrow from a dual loss that would cripple most people/wolves.
Although she has had to rebuild herself, and has grown stronger physically and mentally; she also realizes that she has had to give up her faith in the goodness of people.
As Alexis journeys through her world she meets a man who knows some of her pain and is determined to change her perception of mates, and who the Moon Goddess chooses for them.
Join Alexis in an intriguing new world that has a strong FMC who doesn’t need a man to save her, but having one who is dominant and doesn’t mind when she lets her freak flag fly is a definite bonus! 🤣🔥🔥🔥🔥
Avery Stone is an author that knows how to craft a story that makes the reader invested in the characters they are reading about. Brace yourself for a wild ride when you read this story. This is a book filled with suspense, wonder and danger, with a side dish of deception & betrayal. The FMC is someone who is stronger than she thinks and can overcome anything with the right person by her side. From betrayals suffered by both the FMC & MMC and the danger that surrounds them this intriguing storyline is ultimately one about survival, love, hope & adventures tinted with mystery. The MCs are people that don’t let the past define them and are willing to work at making the best of what’s happening around them to the point where they are not just surviving but thriving. I love the way the story flows and yet is able to give us little snippets of the past. The one criticism I’d have is that this book has a cliffhanger and I’m not a big fan of cliffhangers and this one has that in spades
The storyline has a lot of potential but I got bogged down by the wordiness and sometimes had to force myself to keep reading. I loved the MFC at the start but I had issues with how she told Max virtually everything as soon as they met but he was pretty silent about his past and only references vaguely that he had some negative things happen until the end where we learn specifics.
Spoilers:
I also had a huge issue with how when she was unconscious the first time all the characters made a unanimous decision to keep important information from her. And then towards the end she willingly gives up knowledge of her enemies because the emotional pain is too hard. If she doesn’t know what they did then how can she be prepared to combat their plans. I can only assume Grayson was the one to deliver poisonous flowers to her - which proves that her forgetting is making her have more weaknesses.
Omg this book was absolutely breathtaking so many twists and turns I now have sever whiplash 😵. From start to finish it hooks your attention, you feel every emotion along with the characters. so much action and drama in every single chapter never a dull moment. it's a good long story to sink the teeth in to as well, I struggled to put it down at times. So much still remains unsaid and I can't wait to find out what happens in book two. The two main characters are perfect Alexandra with her badassery and maximus with all his alpha vibes 😍 their a power couple in more ways than one way that's for sure.
This book had taken me by surprise it's fast becoming my favorite read of the year so far and considering iv read it on kindle unlimited makes it all the sweeter. I would 110% recommend This read I loved every single tantalizing moment 💘.
Alexis had everything a girl could want in her life in the night that everything fell apart. In that one beautiful awful night she was crowned Queen of her kingdom and found her mate but to have her mate to reject her and her Kingdom to be destroyed on that same night. In this book you see the struggles Alexis goes through for being rejected and feeling weak. These hardships she goes through leads her to a better man and to be a stronger woman over all but that does not mean she does not have her scars that she deals with. One thing I can say is that I could not put this book down and read it through out the night. Avery Stone really put her all in this book and I am looking forward to the next book. I can not wait to see where our Queen of Flames leads us next.
This book has so much potential I couldn't stand Alexis at times but she kind of grew on me like an unwanted cyst. 😂 I wished there was more explanation to the whole clockwork system and more background into the 5 years that passed after the original rejection. And for Alexis to go from fooling around with Grayson to being mated to Max in just one day felt rushed.. All the events after the prologue pretty much happen in one week and now my brain just hurts. The ending felt a little dull as well thought how are they going to explain her it to her is something I'm looking forwards to finding out. The only thing I'm not complaining about is the spice It wasn't as horrible though i cringe every time I read the words "pole" "popsicle " And "deed" please just crossed them off 😂😂
