Geeky tech girls aren’t supposed to have this much fun with their super spy co-workers.

Ruby typically supports a team of do-gooder assassins from the safety of her supercomputer in their command center. She’s dragged into danger when hackers attack her, empty millions from her crypto wallet, and threaten the global economy by tampering with blockchain technology.

Worse, her attraction to two of the agents she works with—Ace and Liam—is a distraction none of them can afford, especially when she winds up sharing a bed with them for her own safety.

They’ve got issues of their own. Ace barely returned to active duty after a grievous injury that wrecked his arm and nearly ended his career. His wounds fractured more than bones, shaking Liam’s confidence and willingness to deepen their partnership both on and off duty because they risk their lives daily to protect others. And that’s before they admit that they’re falling for the same nerdy-yet-adorable woman, who should also be strictly off-limits.

Can Ruby fix what’s broken between the three of them before the hackers end her career and her life?

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Jayne Rylon comes a steamy new multi-partner standalone series set in the Powertools universe.

The Shields security team accepts missions in the grey area of both law and morality that no one else wants or can handle. They’re a ragtag bunch of special ops soldiers, ex-government agents, and hackers wrangled by a former construction worker who aspired to be a superhero’s sidekick when he grew up. What could go wrong?

Decoding Their Future

First, I have to say that I loved the crossovers from several other series - Men in Blue, Powertools, Hot Rides, Hot Rods. It's one of the things I love about Jayne Rylon's books. She finds a way to make them all one giant happy family but in a way that you aren't lost if you haven't read them all yet. Just love. ❤🤗

Second, Ruby is the cat's meow. 🐈 She's got her work cut out for her, personally and professionally, but she's not afraid to ask for help. I love how she grows stronger and learns to demand what she wants. She may be a novice but she easily fits with Ace and Liam (even if he is often bullheaded).

“Liam isn’t afraid of anything.” Ruby scoffed at the mere idea.

“He’s terrified of Ace. Well, I should say he’s freaked out by the thought of being unable to prevent something bad happening to the guy. I’m sure adding you to the mix isn’t going to make his possessive instincts settle down either. I’d like to be wrong about this, but prepare yourself, because I think things are going to get worse before they get better.” JRad was serious then.

There's danger, James's ridiculous car that endures plenty of upgrades and hijinks (perhaps subjected to them is more appropriate), stuffies, happy news, and delectable steamy encounters. So much to love! Plus, there's the setup for the next book which I'm looking forward to. 🎉😂🔥❤🎉

This was a quick, fun read, even though parts of it sailed right over my head at times, that was full of heat, heart and humor.

Ruby, Ace and Liam. I adored Ruby. It was hard not to. She is a self proclaimed geeky tech girl with a youthful heart, but is quite fierce in her own right. Ace was a sweetheart. He has a few hurdles to overcome and it makes him quite insecure, but watching as he figures out his new normal was awesome. Liam was the one that had me growling the most. It’s not that I didn’t like the man, I did, but his own demons were messing with him and those around him, but in the end I really liked the dominate, protective alpha male that he was.

Their journey to their HEA was fun and frustrating in equal measure, but despite their differences, they worked for me and I liked how they gave each other what they never knew they needed.

As I said at the start, much of the crypto plot did go over my head ~ though I did get the gist of it ~ but what I ended up liking the most was seeing how The Shields, and those they considered theirs, rallied around Ruby, Ace And Liam to not only take the hacker down, but open their eyes to what the three of them could have if they stopped getting in their own way.

I am definitely not a tech girl, I wish I was like Ruby with how smart she is with technology. But then again Jayne writes some amazing female character. Ace and Liam sound out the triad, we got to see a bit of them in previous stories and just so glad to finally glad to see them get their HEA.

Our trio has some issues to get through though and it will take a lot of each of them but their awesome members of the team really help them out in seeing the bigger picture, working towards a relationship.

This book was full of suspense, action, lots of romance with some very sexy times that we always look forward to reading from Jayne.

This story is one that will have your heart breaking again and again and the pain that these lovers inflict on one another and have inflicted on them, caused me to wonder if they would be able to heal. I loved the way Rylon brought in older series characters, pulling in Ruby’s old friends and allowing them to assist Ruby and her lovers in finding a way into love, and I can tell you I will be running right out to read that series (which I sadly missed) so that I can experience the full greatness of JRad and Lucas. Ruby is a sassy badass chick that finally learns the importance of standing up for herself and what she wants from life in order to get her men in her life and her bed, as well as showing her skills as a badass techno-wiz. Ace gets the healing advice he needs to be able to pick himself up by the bootstraps and heal the mental injury that came with the physical one he suffered which has mostly healed already. The pain he has been dealing with, emotionally and mentally, takes him some time but the love he gets from Ruby right away is the impetus he needs to push for what he wants and needs from Liam too. Liam is an ass in the beginning, just gotta say it, but he’s a sexy ass and when he finally pulls his head out of said sexy ass he becomes the perfect alpha Dom for his two lovers and we can tell right away that his fears have been the only thing holding him back. The passion between these three has been simmering from the first time they met, even if they denied and joked about it while two of them carried on physically, and once they all finally fell into the fire it consumed them quickly and they came out the other side changed for the better. As usual Rylon treats us to a bit of info about the next story in the final chapter to drive us insane until that one is in our hands and I can tell you based on what we can already see coming its will be a crazy hot one. Jayne once again sends us high with Broken characters putting each other back together and finding a way to build a triad relationship that will stand the test of time; the bar just gets higher and the next book might leave ME broken at the end!

Hail to the polyamorous Queen - Jayne Rylon! This is another brilliant addition to The Shields security team universe. This series is seriously HOT! So far, I have loved each and every book, they just keep on getting better if that is even a possibility. The characters are well developed and devastatingly beautiful to the core.
I adored Ruby - the hot geeky cyber security woman who rocked the cyber world as well as her two men, Ace and Liam. Kudos to Jayne for writing such a strong female heroine with obvious intelligence as well as empathy.
It was wonderful to see more of Ace and Liam. The snippets in previous books only whetted my appetite for their story and it was definitely worth the wait. Both Ace and Liam come with their own demons and hesitations but Ruby, with a little nudge from her friends, is able to penetrate their defences to help make their own unique triad.
The highlight of this gorgeous book is James’s car!!! OMG, the laugh out loud moments revolving around this car is really what everyone needs right now.
After reading the teaser snippet at the end of Broken, I can’t wait to read the next book in this series – Claimed.

I loved the geeky genius Ruby who works and lives by herself on her side of the wall from Ace and Liam whom she fantasizes about being with every time she hears them getting into each other. When she's in her purple chair working away at the command center and blinks at a supposedly impossible blockchain change and goes to capture an image, her five million dollar wallet disappears, all six of her monitors blow up with a masked image threatening her before shutting it all down. Ace and Liam grab her up, run to their apartment, call Jordan for a lockdown and team meeting! This is the start of a new mission for the Shields-a great adventure that involves the kidnapping of Ruby, the use of James' hopped-up little green car in a chase scene, gunplay, sex play, secret computer coding, multiple honest sharings with Liam to challenge his attitude! All's well that ends well! Recommend this book and all of Rylon's writings.

Jayne Rylon is in a league of her own!!!!

I have been reading Jayne Rylon’s books for years and have never been disappointed. She always has full protagonists as well as great storylines. Broken was no different than all her other fantastic books.
Broken follows in the Power Tools: The Original Crew, Power Tools: Hot Rods, & Power tools: Hot Rides. Broken is part of the Power Tools: The Shields.
In this book we follow Ruby, a computer specialist who works for Shields Security Services, Ace an agent of Shield recovering from severe injury to his arm & Liam a quiet agent of Shield who has commitment issues. The three have been dancing around each other for months but also have their own mental baggage to deal with. Will they be able to fix themselves in time to help when one of them is threatened & taken captive? You’ll have to read this fantastic book by Jayne Rylon and find out.
I was given an ARC copy to read and am leaving an honest review.

I really love this crew so much. This trio is so complex. Ace is recovering in more ways than one. Liam is his normal growly self. And Ruby is just awesome as always. This time the enemy might not be something they all can see. Liam and Ace have to come to terms with they can't always protect their computer geek from every situation. Ruby has to find her strength not only behind her monitor but trust in her words and actions as well. Liam? Oh Liam. He is so complicated that his walls are enormous. And Ace might jump in before thinking but that's what this trio needs. I loved this story!

She just gets better and better! Jayne keeps you on your toes.

Liam and Ace have had their eye on Ruby for some time...they are all skirting around each other. When Ruby comes under attack Liam and Ace rush in. The question is, will they make a move?

Each one of them has demons. The uncertainty Ace has may break him. Injured and healing, he's questioning his usefulness. Liam just isn't sure...on a lot. Thankfully other members of the team jump in and steer them in the right direction. Ruby takes it all in stride, and while trying to defeat the cyber attack takes Ace and Liam in hand.

Suspense and action keeps you engaged. Wanting to know what happens keeps you reading!

Jayne Rylon is known to write relationships that are so different and unexpected. She especially does the multiple pairings extremely well where it isn't unbelievable. Each character has substance to them and usually there is a backstory where they are looking for redemption or to be deserving of love. This book focused on Liam, Ruby and Ace. You also get to see past characters have a part in the book.

Once again Ms. Rylon has written a wonderful read. I loved Ruby. I will admit that I was a little lost when it came to the Crypto story-line. Unfortunately I'm not quite the geek Ruby is! As for Ace and Liam, both are great men with issues to resolve. This triad works well together. I received an Advance Reader's Copy of this book which I am voluntarily reviewing.

Ace and Liam are not only partners on the job with the Shields but lovers. Liam has never fully committed to Ace and after he is severely injured on a mission he's determined not to commit to the relationship.

Ruby is the Shields computer genius running things from her super computer at command central. She's been fantasizing to the sounds of her neighbors hot and heavy sex but she's a dorky nerd and they are too hot to touch.

When Ruby discovers a plot with crypto currency she almost gets burned. The team will have to let the geeks do the majority of the fighting but when Ruby gets targeted Ace and Liam step up to protect her.

As these three get hot and heavy, Liam keeps pulling away after sexy times to avoid getting too close. He can't handle the thought of losing them and it will take some sage advice and a terrible scare to get his head out of his ass.

Rylon pulls you into their story from the first few pages and you won't want to put it down until you get to the end of their story. I loved Ruby and I'm glad she found her happily ever after with Liam and Ace. She also gives us great cameos from her other books and of course the latest developments with James' car. A book in this series isn't complete without something happening to it.

Enjoy the suspense, a polyamory trio, a little humor and a peek into the next book in the series, 'Protected.'

I loved this trio so much! There is something about a suspense storyline with computers and online villains that just feels so much scarier. I mean, the bad guys are, or could be, anywhere, doing anything. The fact that we get to see JRad was a bonus in and of itself, and made me crave a Men in Blue check-in novella so bad!!!

Now, onto Ruby, Levi, and Ace. Ruby is our hacker and completely adorable and loveable, I liked her in previous books, but I loved her here. Feisty, fun, shy, sweet, stubborn, and determined, she is a bundle of wonderful woman. Ace and Levi are already a couple, but not really. There are some issues there, and while Ruby has been wanting from afar to be in on it, circumstances land her right in the middle. Once there, she isn’t backing away from getting things worked out between them and having her as part of it. The bad guys only work harder, making these three all the closer, and getting them their richly deserved HEA

p.s. James’ car is a character of its’ own in the story, both as a hero and a victim, yet again 😊

Broken by Jayne Rylon is the fourth book in the Powertools: The Shields series and I am officially head over heels in LOVE with these characters! Seriously, these dynamics are GOLD.

Ruby, Ace, and Liam had me swooning, even as I wanted to occasionally reach into the story and give some characters at certain points a little shake of the shoulders!

Ruby is feisty and sweet and a computer genius that is sometimes a bit too curious for her own good. Ace is a bit of a maverick and a daredevil, wanting to be loved for who he is, and needing to remember that he is more than enough, just as he is. Luckily, he has loved ones to remind him of this! And then there's Liam. Liam is huge and imposing, protective and caring, a teddy bear to his loved ones, and vicious to anyone else. I want a Liam hug!

Seeing familiar faces, experiencing new drama and low-key angst, in and amongst blossoming relationships, simmering chemistry, and of course the power of love and acceptance, this story will heal what might feel broken, just as it did for our loving trio! So, be sure to grab this and enjoy!

P. S. I am SO EXCITED for the next book! Claimed is going to be phenomenal.

Ms. Rylon is a favorite author of mine, but the Shields series is her weakest one to date. She's run out of unique ways to tell the same story. I think it's because her previous work had diverse characters.
In the Hot Rides series she has one person from each of the triads working at the Hot Rides garage. In most cases, the remaining members of the threesome are at the center of the plotline, adding complexities that make for a more three dimensional narrative.
In this series almost all the members of the relationships work at Shield Security. All the men are big, tough and MACHO! Usually one of the men is reluctant to enter into the relationship. The only man who has a solid grasp on his feminine side is James, their office manager. The men all blend into together and the women face similar situations.
I found myself comparing her previous work to this series. The earlier Middleton books are like a decent vintage of wine. This is like a glass of water with the same 3 grapes tossed in.
The formula is crystal clear for the Shield books.
I think Jayne needs to step away from Middleton so she can gain some much needed perspective.

Simply put this book was fantastic. Never a dull moment. It is just amazing the way that Jayne Rylon’s books combine both the romantic aspect of the story and the friendships that each story contains plus so much action that it just completes the story. Ruby always looked at herself as a geeky nerd, but she was a beautiful one, and one that had a big crush on two of the men that worked with her. Now if she can just get them to notice her. The walls are very thin, so she knows that Liam and ace have quite the love life. What she doesn’t know is they have noticed her as well. Ace is ready and willing for a romantic time with Ruby. Liam keeps his emotions at a distance, both from Ace and now from Ruby. It is a complicated relationship, and trying to figure it out is not going to be easy. Now Ruby is in trouble, and that is one thing that Liam and Ace can help with. Maybe Liam is better at saving her life from danger then he is saving her from himself. Ruby and Ace are ready to start a relationship with or without Liam. Liam has to make up his mind whether he’s going to put himself out there or lose the two people who mean everything to him.

This book is about Ruby, Ace and Liam. Ruby is one of the tech nerds at the Shields and Liam and Ace work the field. When Ruby comes under cyber attack and it puts her and the Shields in danger Liam and Ace work together to protect her at all cost. But the only danger might not just be from the bad guys the danger might also be themselves as they must battle their hearts to save both Ruby's life and any possibility of a future relationship between the three of them can they survive intact?

I really enjoyed this book. I've been waiting for Ruby's book. She's such a fun character! Liam and Ace are great but they have their own problems. When they start protecting Ruby because of the cyber attack it makes them realize that they need to work on themselves and they have a lot to lose. Ruby has to gain confidence and take what she wants. She definitely does this in the book with the help of JRad her mentor showing up. I also really enjoyed seeing Lucas! I always wish there were more crossover between Jayne's series. The Men in Blue are a great group of characters I love when we get to see more of them. The plot is great, the characters are very well rounded and the sex is hot! The ending was very satisfying and I can't wait to read more books in the series!

Ruby wants Ace and Liam. Too bad they don't want her...or do they? Ace wants Ruby and more than Liam is giving him but is he enough for either of them? Liam gas urges and he can satisfy them with Ace but is it enough?
Broken is the latest installment in Jayne Rylon's Powerools The Shields series. I enjoyed seeing Liam, Ace and Ruby find their happily ever after. It is a long time coming and I must admit that at times I wanted to pop Liam upside his head. He kept focusing on loss and missed what he could have. I love that together Ruby and Ace forced him to see they fit. Together they were stronger. Seeing Ace, Ruby and Liam fight their individual fears so that they can find happiness together. I loved that Ms. Rylon did not make it easy but she made the journey believable. I thoroughly enjoyed this story I can't wait to see where Ms. Rylon will take us next.

Nerdy cybersecurity geek Ruby is secretly pining for her sexy neighbors. Liam and Ace are lovers by night and coworkers by day. Ace has been injured on a previous mission and is afraid Liam has lost faith in him, Liam is afraid that losing Ace will break him entirely, and Ruby fears she will never be enough for either or both of the men.
All this changes when Ruby uncovers a plot to undermine the world's currency by tampering with cryptocurrency. Ruby really comes into her own as she investigates the mystery and learns to pursue what she really wants - Liam and Ace. The plot moves quickly and the details about the tampering with blockchain technology is really interesting. And Ruby, Liam, and Ace are so hot and sweet together. This is great addition to the Powertools - The Shields saga.

This is a fast paced story fueled by drama, danger, action, heat and a lot of emotions. When Ruby's curiosity leads to a startling discovery, the outcome is dangerous and potentially dire. Liam and Ace are determined to protect the woman who has enchanted them from all threats. The feelings that have remained unspoken between Ruby, Ace and Liam come to a head. Three dynamic complicated characters must deal with, self doubt, disappointments, volatile emotions, danger, and their desires for one another. Letting down their guards, and surrendering to their hearts desire may be even harder than chasing the bad guys. I enjoyed this latest entry in The Shields series, I look forward to what comes next.

Excellent

Loved the series so far action packed and romance plenty to intrigue you. Meet Ruby a shy independent woman who happens to be excellent at computers and a dab hand in security and cyber attacks as she learnt from her Mentor. As happily has she is in front of a screen she is jealous of her team mates finding their one true love . As a geek she dabble in crypto currency trading platform and was delving into exploring the crypto coin a rare piece and sure enough trouble was not to far away.
Meet Ace and Liam belong to the shields team involving highly classified missions risking their lives as many do in Shields Team. But from a far or sometimes near they always make sure Ruby is okay until she needed there help.Brilliant story plenty of hot swoon

Broken was an apt title for this book. Liam and Ace are in a very disfunctional relationship that only becomes worse when Ace is injured on a mission. Ruby has secretly been crushing on both Liam and Ace and thinks they could never go for the nerd girl. When a cyber attack puts Ruby in danger Liam and Ace must deal with their relationship as well as their attraction to Ruby. Liam must come to terms with working the people you care about and how to work through his fears instead of pushing them away. This was an fast and intense read at times. I throughly enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait for the next installment in the series.

Another hot Shields book

When Shields tech guru Ruby happens on a scheme to collapse cryptocurrency, she’s threatened and has millions stolen from her. Now she needs to ask for help from her mentor to figure out how to stop the plan. Her two sexy neighbors are also assigned to keep her safe. Can she be around the two men without combusting?

Ace and Liam are broken, Ace physically and Liam emotionally. They may be partners in the field, but Liam keeps his emotional distance from Ace. Now Ruby has been thrown into their mix. Can they keep their hands off of each other while still doing their jobs?

A new triad has been formed !

I'm very happy to see that Ruby finally getting her book !
Miss Rylon has written another multi partner success with Broken, her 4th book in The Shields series.
It has a lot of tangled up emotions and issues; by the end of this very gripping storyline, all of this makes sense.

It is full of hope, love, steam and deeply felt friendship.
It is so well written, it feels as if you're a very close witness to everything that's happening.

I loved it , recommend it ( as well as the rest of the series ;) ) and will read it again for sure !!

This is my honest review of an ARC given to me by the author.

Who said blondes get all the fun?

Ruby, with her red hair might come across as a nerd, with mad computer skills but there is more to her storing under the surface. Her neighbours at the Shield Security headquarters, Liam and Ace have been unknowingly teasing her for months through the connecting wall. Just as things might be about the heat up, unseen scars and cyber criminals could ruin everything.
I really enjoyed Broken, each of the main characters are broken in their own way but together they can learn to heal, and as is Jayne Rylon’s style have mind blowing, knock your socks off action in the bedroom
