From New York Times and USA Today bestseller Lexi Blake comes a new novel in her Thieves world…

After returning from the outer planes, Zoey expected a joyous reunion with family and friends. She couldn’t be more wrong. Her kingdom is in the hands of Myrddin, her friends are on the run, and her children are being hunted by the supernatural world. But that isn’t the worst of it. They aren’t just outlaws—they are fully grown adult outlaws.

In the four days that passed while they were gone, twelve years have passed at home. Now Zoey, Danny, and Dev find themselves in the middle of a new war where they are hunted by old foes and former allies…some they could never have imagined would turn against them.

As Myrddin’s plan becomes clear, Zoey realizes she just might hold the key to stopping him for good and reclaiming their kingdom. Doing so means risking it all to steal back an artifact out from under the wizard’s nose. The fate of everyone on the Earth plane hangs in the balance, and one wrong move could cost Zoey everything she loves.

Review:
*This review contains spoilers for previous books in the series. If you're new to the Thieves series, here's my Book 1 and spoiler-free series review!*

Yes! THIEVES IS BACK!

Well, kind of, since I think the next book will be about Kelsey again. And I know the series technically never left. But this had Zoey's POV! And a heist! And that amazing single book and long game plotting that, in my opinion, is one of Lexi Blake's strongest skills (at least in this series, I haven't read any others)! And just some of that cozy feeling I love so much about the original five books.

I liked getting to know Rhys more, since we never saw much of him in previous books. I liked getting to see how some of the characters and their lives have changed since we last saw them. I liked that certain characters I kind of missed, since they hadn't been getting much page-time lately, were more in the story again. I liked the new (and new-ish) characters who have become or are becoming part of the family. I loved all the old characters too, but of course that's a given. And then there was Declan. I always kind of hate him and think he deserves being punched every so often, but I also kinda feel bad for him since he does feel the heavy weight of the position he's in and sometimes makes genuine mistakes because he's Declan and genuinely doesn't understand why the things he says and does are actually not ok. But anyway, just great characters overall. I love 'em.

This wasn't as action-packed or plot-heavy as many of the other books, but I was fully hooked regardless. There was a lot of other stuff that needed to be focused on before jumping back into action and heists. I like where this series is going. I like that we've picked back up on the Myrddin thread and are back in the thick of things.

The shocking twist from the end of the last book adds a layer of emotion to the story as you realize how much every character has struggled and/or sacrificed, but also how some of them have grown and flourished. That twist was a bold move on the part of the author, but it I think it was ultimately a good choice.

I'm not going to explain everything that's great about this series in general and all the characters because I've already done that in other reviews. And if you've read the books, you already know.

Of course, this book---I assume this whole new leg of the series---still has all the male vs. female dichotomy and stereotyping stuff. Also, for some reason, ever since Stealing Summer, the author has decided to use male/female instead of man/woman (for example, "He was attractive, but there was no way to miss the ruthless will that always surrounded the male."), and it sounds so unnatural. It's also incredible how there have been 11 books in this series, including multiple triad relationships and multiple characters who are attracted to men and women, yet I don't think the word bisexual (or pansexual) has been used even once. But for me, overlooking some things is worth it because of how much I enjoy this series and how much I love these characters.

Overall, this was much more like the original Thieves books than any of the previous five have been, I didn't want it to end, I was happy to be fully back with Zoey and her family, and I'm excited to see where this series goes from here!

*This is a spin-off series, and I highly HIGHLY recommend starting with Steal the Light. This is about all the same characters, and I don’t think this spin-off series will be as enjoyable if you haven’t read the rest of the books.*

*Rating: 4 Stars // Read Date: 2020 // Format: eBook*

Lexi Blake delivered in a big way with this book!!!

I want to digest and enjoy every single part of this book, and talk about each chapter.. but then I'd be spoiling it for everyone who still gets to read this book.

All I will say is every devoted reader of this series will not be disappointed, yes, there are tears, but you had to know there would be!

I loved revisiting all the characters I missed. You just have to love Zoey and that attitude. I missed Dev and Danny and so many others!! And the kids.... oh, the kids!!!!!

There are some surprises and the ending is freakin amazing...

I already wish I could have the next book in my hands now, but the anticipation will be worth it!

Holy wow, that was an incredible ride.

The Rebel Queen truly left me awestruck and utterly overwhelmed as this remarkable story captivated and fully consumed me from beginning to end. Once starting, I could not put my kindle down and devoured this read in one sitting. This angst-filled nail-biter still has me reeling, wishing it never ended, and desperate for the next installment. After reading and relishing most of Lexi Blake's novels, I have to say this was one of her best. The first in her new spin-off of the Thieves/Hunter Series, Blake had me on the edge of my seat while experiencing the continuing adventures of Zoey, Daniel, Devinshea and their entire crew.

The Rebel Queen picks up immediately following the OMG, what the heck just happened ending of Stealing Summer, which blew my mind. I won't get into too many details and reveal any spoilers so that fans can appreciate the main characters' journey for themselves ~ but I will say that the time jump (revealed in the synopsis) that propelled Zoey, Dan and Dev twelve years into their realm's future was a genius plot twist and totally unexpected. It affected each of the main characters and the dynamics of their relationships differently. The absence for over a decade from her children's lives and realizing what they endured weighed heavily on Zoey's shoulders. Seeing all her anguish, witnessing her tremendous heartache and guilt, pulled heavily on my heartstrings. This new reality was hard for our sassy and stubborn heroine to accept.

What I love most about Zoey is her spirit. When faced with many challenges, she manages to survive time and time again. Zoey's grit carried her through many harsh circumstances since their return, and along with the support from her husbands, she gained strength and thrived. She's one heck of a fascinating character; her crazy antics and mischievous personality will never bore me. Although I adore each member of this throuple, their family, and friends, it's Zoey who touched and affected me the most.

Blake is a masterful, intelligent and gifted writer. She consistently spins brilliant tales, weaving a web of intricate details and an array of characters, with the perfect combination of passion, mystery, hilarity and suspense. The Rebel Queen was no exception, and it is here where she has outdone herself by penning a poignant, truly emotionally driven yet action-packed read. There is a lot going on in this novel, and one needs to pay very close attention. Regardless, the intriguing story-line flowed flawlessly. The enemies, both new and old, who ran amuck as Zoey, Dan, Dev and the gang prepare for imminent attacks, had my heart palpitating. I loved how there's a McKay/Taggart connection somewhat entwined into this new series. Seeing the now grown-up, responsible and bad-ass children (Lee, Rhys and Evan) and their struggles touched me. In the end, this all made for a fantastic read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Highly recommend reading after completing the Thieves/Hunter series as I would not consider this a standalone novel. 5+++ stars!!

Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow.
I think I'm still in shock. I mean, I have waited quite some time for this book and I expected a lot, but Lexi managed to completely throw my epectations out of the window and raised the bar even higher for the next book. I mean, there were so many threads that needed to be followed and bound together and everything and she managed to do so beautifully.
I loved to reconnect with my old favorites even though they were all grown up and raring to go and that was so saaaaad.
I cried a lot during this book. I cried for the youth of Zoey's kids. I cried for their innocence and for the loss of so many people.
And now I'm sitting here staring on the last page and have to wonder how I will cope waiting for the next one that will be equally as brilliant and how I might manage my book slump that's rushing onto me waiting for me to let my guard down.

Truly brilliant writing. Really. Absolute recommendation.

First of all, you really do need to have read the Thieves and Hunter series prior to this book. There is a massive cast of characters here, the majority of whom come from the prior series books. There are not only ongoing characters but ongoing arcs and plots and prophesy.

This equals another incredibly entertaining book in the Thieves series. I love Zoey's POV and we get it here in The Rebel Queen. Zoey, Daniel and Devinshea are always compelling reading.

Great further world building.

I don't want to say too much because if you haven't read any of the other books it will a) make no sense and b) I don't want to spoiler anything. Plus there is a lot to try to cover in any review for this book.

I can't wait for the next instalment.

4.25 stars-- THE REBEL QUEEN is the first instalment in Lexi Blake’s adult OUTLAWS paranormal/fantasy ménage romance series-a spin off set in the author’s world of the THIEVES. This is Queen of all Vampire / and the wife of the high priest of the Seelie and the Unseelie Zoey Donovan-Quinn, high Fae priest Devinshea Quinn, and king of the vampires Daniel Donovan’s continuing story line. THE REBEL QUEEN should not be read as a stand alone as much of the premise focuses on events that happened throughout the original THIEVES series. Zoey, Daniel and Dev’s story line begins in the THIEVES.

NOTE: THE REBEL QUEEN and the Outlaws/Thieves series contains scenes of MMF/MFM sexual situations.

Told from first person perspective (Zoey Donovan-Quinn) THE REBEL QUEEN follows with the return of Zoey, Daniel and Dev. Twelve years earlier, searching for their husband Devinshea, Zoey and Daniel time-travelled through a magical painting, a portal to another world where only four days had passed. Upon their return the Earth plane, twelve years had gone by, and Zoey, Dev and Daniel’s children were now adults, having made a place and name for themselves amongst the Fae, and the vampires in the Earth realm. Daniel’s mentor turned enemy, Myrrddin Emrys, once known as Merlin, is still on the hunt for his missing grimoire and sword, a grimoire with the secrets to all of the worlds’ magical powers, taking aim at our heroine, who has hidden the cache where it cannot be found.

Upon their return Zoey, Dev and Daniel discover their children have been fighting a war, a war that took the lives of so many people they had once loved. As Zoey and her husbands reconnect with the family and loved ones, our heroine sets into motion a plan to travel back in time, in an effort to correct everything that had gone wrong.

THE REBEL QUEEN is a detailed, complex and multi-levelled story line with numerous supernatural entities. I had not had the opportunity to read the THIEVES series, and in this I was temporarily lost and confused until much of the current story line and time line revealed. I had thought I was coming into a new series but I highly recommend reading the THIEVES for back story and cohesion as many of the events of THE REBEL QUEEN are as of a result of the events in the original series. The premise is fascinating, imaginative, tragic and twisted; the romance is seductive and passionate; the characters are animated and dynamic-the back and forth between members of the family is fun, furious, frenetic and sometimes sad but it is Zoey’s attitude that struck me as selfish and narrow-minded, an attitude that didn’t bode well for her likeability in the early chapters of the story line premise.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This book is fabulous - and it made me cry. Much like Zoey herself, I really didn’t expect the world she returns to in this story. Her children are grown, and they are rebel outlaws fighting against a new regime.

This is definitely not the subtle spinoff Blake gave us with Kelsey’s books. Zoey, her husbands and their friends re-enter a future world with a whole new cast of characters. It works in many ways. I love the adults the royal children have become. Zoey’s sense of disconnected wonder at the warriors who were babies yesterday will resonate with parents everywhere. The strained relationships between the two generations feel real and raw - but hopeful. The dangers in the future world are more interesting than the settled lives the Royals were leading at the end of the previous series. I love the increased Fae presence in this book.

Where this book doesn’t quite work is the pacing. Much of the story is a collection of conversations. Readers are given a refresher course on the past ten books while also being introduced to the new world in this book. There’s a lot of world building. Character building. Relationship building. The action in this book doesn’t happen until the final few chapters.
There are hints of romances to come but there isn’t a central romance here. For a series that now includes two Fae sex gods, there is actually very little sex.

The focus of the story is Zoey, Daniel and Devonshea’s relationships with their children and the others left behind. This is a reflective, often heartbreaking story told from the perspective of a Queen and mother whose world changes overnight. The story sets up several future storylines for the royal children but nothing actually concludes in this first book. The preface explains the author’s headspace while writing this book. While it isn’t as fast, as fun or as sexy as previous books, I think many readers will relate to Zoey’s conflicted emotions in her new world.

If you love vampires ,fae , witches ,magic, and strong women then this series is highly recommended for you I can't rave enough about this series start with Steal the light

I stumbled across the thieves series a year ago in the audible and couldn't listen to it fast enough that I had to get the books. I fell head over heels in love with Zoey ,Danny ,Dev and ,Kelsey that I couldn't get enough. Zoey is always getting into trouble but she has the brains and some much need luck of over coming the odd of any situations with the help of her family and crew. I'm sure you'll enjoy this series as much as I have. Be for warned it does have some hot sex scenes in the series not so much in this book and Zoey is in a polyamory relationship with Danny a vampire king and Dev a fae fertility god.

The Rebel Queen by L. Blake is book one in this new series and book eleven in the cross-over series, Thieves.
Zoey and her loved ones are back from another realm only to discover they spent a lot of time away and everything has changed. Nothing is as it was before. They have to adapt to this new reality and do the best they can to re-connect with family and friends, best enemies and win their kingdom back.
TRQ is a book that grabs you from the first page, holds on, whirls you around and even after you finish it, it still stays with you.
An outstanding read, I highly recommend this action packed story that gave me all the feels - 5 stars.

I was so afraid of skipping 12 years. Am I prepared for who the kids are now?
This book is so good. The reaction Zoey has to missing 12 years with her kids as they were growing & changing and also trying to stay alive.
I would have appreciated a bit more of an adjustment from Danny but Dev’s quick adjustment didn’t surprise.
I loved all the new things about the kids and can’t wait to get more of Evan.
I know that Kelsey’s book is going to be really emotional.

DNF was a struggle felt like I got dropped in the middle of a series in progress…way too many characters to keep track of…and finally if you are all about kids this is your story…I want my escape from reality to not include children and babies…get enough of that in real life.

As other reviewers have said this is not the first book in the series, Still the Light is the first book in the series and you need to start from there. I actually read the original Thieves series 3 times and it's excellent. I suggest reading it if you haven't. The Hunter series was ok....

But I digress.... I'm assuming you read the book so I'm not going to summarize it for you....At the end of Stealing Summer they popped out of the painting (the trap) and they're 12 years in the future. So far the first book in the Guardian series was just okay. I thought this book should have been longer for the amount it covered. It was only 350 pages. I thought it needed more detail and character development.

When I opened it and saw that we got to POV from Zoey I was like yes she is my favorite character.... but all she did was whine and complain about how she wanted to go home and lost 12 years of her life and how she couldn't relate to her present day kids and how they shouldn't have had to do this or that. It took her 75% of the way through the book when her dad passed on before she could accept that she was in a future she didn't want to be in and she had to let the thought of going back in time to 'save everyone' go...... I also thought all the sex scenes were really forced. They did not flow with the book at all. Also having sex on a plane when your son's in the front.... ew.

Neil was still Neil. After 12 years of a horrible life in the woods all he wanted to do was go shopping. Like wtf?

The explanation on how Zack survived 12 years with a curse but then also had a child was convoluted.

I did enjoy getting to know the kids better. I loved Rhys and him releasing his power with the Hidden and Lee... especially getting to know that Lee was a man whore and a latent vampire but that was kind of predictable. I didn't like Shy. I think her character was developed poorly. I want to see what Lexi Blake does with her in the next several book(s) now that she doesn't have Harry riding along with her. I thought she made it a little too convenient that she was Rhys's goddess. Again it didn't flow like Dev and Zoey did in the original 5. It seems like another forced point in the story.

This is just an FYI if you're behind in the books like me.....What I did was I read this book and Rebel Guardian at the same time and it was a much better experience because they are the same dates just different locations. I think when the main fight with Myddrin happened I finished Rebel Queen (roughly 75%) then finished Rebel Guardian. (roughly 55-60%) So, if you're like me and just catching up to this series I suggest doing this. Rebel Guardian is so much better than this one. I thought Kelsey's character was just ok in Hunter but Lexi Blake develops her a lot more in Stealing Summer and in Rebel Guardian so I'm wondering if this was the plan all along?

I'm actually really disappointed in the direction she's taking Zoey and the rest of the gang (the original thieves) in this new series but I guess we will see!!! She gives a hint at the next book in Rebel Guardian so I can't wait for Rebel Princess which I assume will be about Evan. Let's see if I remember to pre order it.....

I. AM. SPEECHLESS.......

Okay....about this book. Let me start by saying that I bought this book first, then realized that I hadn't finished the entire Thieves series. I had only read the first 5 books (Zoey, Daniel and Dev) and then I realized that there was a whole different section (Kelsey, Gray and Trent) that had another 5 books that led into this new book - or book 11 in this series. I know, I know...it says it right on the book - Book 11 - sue me.....

Because I have this weird thing that will NOT let me skip books, I jumped right into the second half of Thieves. Let me tell you, those last 5 books - that was no easy thing because there was only one book that had an audio version (Ripper) and the rest had not had the audio version completed yet. For some reason, I have developed the habit of alternating between listening and reading so that was kind of a big thing for me. Needless to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the rest of the series (and missed quite a bit of sleep) and was SO ready to find out what was happening now that I had finally gotten to The Rebel Queen.

What a story! I felt like I held my breath through most of the story, but never as much as I did at the end. I NEVER EVER sneak and take a peek at the end of a book, but the suspense was so high that I actually almost did. With no spoilers, let me just say that I did not breath AT ALL until the dynamic duo had finished their job and was out of the place that they had gone in to retrieve the important package. (Was that vague enough?)

I loved and hated parts of this book. While I totally FELT for Zoey and what it had cost her to miss those 12 years, I also got to the point that I wanted to shake her and tell her to "get over it" before she completely and irrevocably screwed things up. Yes, everyone would love do overs for mistakes in our lives, but sometimes we have to face the fact that life is a journey and to change ONE thing might just change everything, and NOT in the way that you might hope for.

This book was so emotional, and thrilling, and intense. It took me a while to switch gears - remember, I just read 5 books very quickly dealing with Kelsey and her guys - and all of a sudden, she was absent and the focus changed back to Zoey, Daniel and Dev. We NEVER even heard what happened to Gray until almost the very end of the book.....that was hard. And while we were told that Trent was in Atlanta, we didn't get to see the reunion between him and Kelsey. Yes, I think I read (on the VERY LAST page) that the next book will switch the focus again back to Kelsey, so there is that.

There is a whole heck of a lot that has been set up in this new world. It is a MESS. One big, gigantic, and awful mess. There is a HUGE big bad in the form of a demonic wizard, we have Gray experiencing who knows what, we have the kids (now grown) with issues of their own and we have the entire supernatural world on the brink of something totally awful.....isn't it great???!!!!

Can't wait for the next book.....seriously,

I. CAN'T. WAIT.

This story was quite interesting in more ways than one, seeing how Zoey has to accept and adapt that more time has passed and not just a few days, as it felt to her, was quite refreshing. I love the dynamic from all the characters, werewolves, elves, vampires, etc. I love when they are all mixed into the stories, I definitely loved more than one character here and liked the balance between angst, humor, and steam. This is the start of the new series Outlaw but a continuation of the Thieves series that you might want to dive into. Great writing, plotline, characters, and world-building will totally recommend if you want a refreshing PNR story.

(This review contains spoilers for the previous books in the series. Read at your own risk.)

3.75 stars. This is a good book! The Rebel Queen is book 11 in the Thieves series. At the end of the previous book in the series, Stealing Summer, Zoey, Dev, Daniel, Kelsey, and their new friend Dean had returned through the painting from being in different plane saving Summer. When they arrive back, everything they know and love has changed. Somehow twelve years have passed. Their children, Rhys, Lee and Evan, are all adults now and are outlaws with bounties on their heads. Evil, treacherous Myrddin has taken over the kingdom. Many people they know and love have died. Now, Zoey, Dev and Daniel must figure out how to take back the throne and defeat Myrddin all while maneuvering relationships with their now-adult children and mourning the years they lost with them.

This book was interesting and well-written. I found it a good way to move the series along, although not many problems were resolved in the book. It was an angsty story with some heartache and growing pains for the family. Some of it was hard to read and there were not a lot of happy moments. But Dev, Daniel and Zoey have figured out the dynamic that works best for them and know how to weather the hard times together. Their relationship is completely solid. I enjoyed meeting the kids as grownups and I'm really looking forward to seeing their stories and romances develop first hand. I am also really looking forward to Kelsey's story of how things go when she reunites with Gray and Trent, which hopefully happens in the next book.

Overall, this was a good, entertaining read. There are so many possibilities for future books with this series and I'm impatient to see how everything unfolds for these characters. I love this series ans I look forward to whatever Ms. Blake comes up with next!

Zoey is a vampire companion, which means she is a human that draws vampires to her. She is also the vampire queen, and one of her husbands, Daniel Donovan, is the vampire king. They, along with others, were sucked into a spelled painting and transported to another realm. To them, it had been only four days they were gone, but when they arrived back, they discovered that they had been gone for twelve years. In their absence, the wizard Myrddin, AKA Merlin, usurped them and declared himself king. He put bounties upon all her children, wanted dead or alive. Her children were all grown up now. Zoey wished to go back through the painting and come back and not lose those twelve years, but there was no painting. It was now a blank canvas.

This tale is an interesting reality. It has humans who are special, and just because they are who they are, they call to vampires who naturally want to feed upon them. Vampires also want to keep their blood supply alive so they can have more, so vampires feed these companions their blood, which keeps them young and vital. Then there is a vampire king. He is not a local chapter leader, territory, state, or even country, but a king of the supernatural for the whole world. The physical world-building is generally vague but descriptive enough in places to give you a good idea of where the characters are. The ethereal world-building is mostly a personal thing. The author’s capability for character interaction excels in this story, while the character’s background is sprinkled throughout the tale.

WARNING: ADULT CONTENT: I believe the author could have added a genre or three, specifically polyamory, erotica, and LGBTQ. But, if you like reverse harems, where the males are also attracted to one another, then this read might be for you. I give this sub-series starter five stars out of five stars.

I seem to be veering into new genres here lately, and PNR is apparently my latest adventure. I was unsure what I was getting into when I started Rebel Queen by Lexi Blake, but I was immediately sucked into this world and all the characters in it. I have not read any of the books in the series before this one that--I will remedy that.

Our heroine returns from what she and her fellow travelers thought was a few days, but it's been twelve years for her children. What I enjoyed about this story is the struggle Zoey has accepting this new reality. She balks at it. She kicks at it. She rationalizes her behavior to her family by saying she wants to fix it. But what is even better is how her children, friends, spouses, everyone stands up to her. Eventually, she gets it. But that struggle of wanting to shield her children from the pain they have endured is such a mom move. It gives Zoey dimension beyond just the bada$$.

The adults her children have become are really cool, and getting to know them all as this series progresses is going to be a blast. The dynamic of werewolves, vampires, elves, and all the other magical creatures living right among unknowing humans reminds me a bit of TV shows I loved like Grimm and Fringe. I so enjoyed this book, and I am happy I decided to give a PNR book a try; I picked a heckuva book. Rebel Queen is a dynamic story that keeps you on the edge of your seat, with some humor, characters you will love, particularly Rhys and Lee, not to mention Zoey's father, and some serious steam between Zoey Dev and Daniel. Now is a great time to jump in this series.

I'm think I'm a bit at a loss for words, there is so much going on in my head right now!
This book was very emotional for me because I was Zoey, every step of the way: I completely understood her refusal to accept what happened, I wouldn't have either. If I lost 12 years with my children? You better believe that I would move Heaven and Earth to get them back! She needed time to come to grips with everything, she was shocked. Between Lee and her father she finally broke but it was painful.

I loved reading about the children, to see them all grown up. Lee was still Lee and my heart is his, but I think the one I liked the most was Rhys: he has this reserved vibe, this vulnerability hidden beneath the surface, it will be a joy to get to know him.
I'm curious about Evan as well, since she had less page time. I'm looking forward to the next book, for her!

Saying goodbye to Harry was so bittersweet. What a beautiful, heartbreaking scene, I was close to tears reading that one.

I'm with Zoey in saying "I told you so" about Jack the Ripper. It was so satisfying when she killed him!

And finally, FINALLY, Lee is the Vampire King that I knew he would be since the first time I read that prophecy. Took you long enough, boy! I want to see him and Dean together! I want Mia back!

Nimue made me laugh, although, right, poor Nimue! I'm terrible, I know. I should show some compassion 😂

It's baaaad that Myrddin has the grimoire back. Very bad. It's goooood that Zoey blew his ass up, I cheered the whole time!

Now the waiting begins again, this time for Kelsey and her men. I definitely need that part of the story! And then it's go time with Lee and the others! I can't wait :)

The Thieves series consists of three different series. This is the first book in the Outlaw series. DO NOT read this book unless you have read the others. It is not a stand alone.

* How did the book make you feel?: At times I was annoyed with Zoey. She was back to her whiny self, just like the first couple of books in the Thieves series. As I was reading I didn't like that part but the ending made up for it. There were a couple of twists and turns, some obvious and some not. The main thing is that I enjoyed this book.

* How do you feel about how the story was told?: This book was told from the point of view of Zoey, just like the first books in the series. The anticipation it builds when the story is told like this, is amazing.

* What did you think about the main characters?: I don't know if Lee would be considered a main character but I just loved him. All the characters are so well formed. I really feel that I know each one.

* What did you think about the ending?: The ending was perfect. There were no loose ends and it ended in a great way to start the next book. It's not a cliff hangar like the one before this but I'm excited for the next one.

* What is your impression of the author?: Always amazed after I read one of Lexi's books. I am getting so close to reading them all. She needs to write faster!! That's my only complaint with her.

I saw these questions on another reviewers post and thought I'd use them.

What a great installment! You never know where Lexi is going. It was a smart plan. It saves a lot when teleporting is added as an option in a story. Sometimes the transportation issues make
me impatient. So it was clever their hidiho is in Iceland which is far enough away to stay safe yet only a second away via teleporting. Of course I love all the good guys and bad guys. The bad guys are seriously bad. Oh and I do love Lexi jumped right in bringing the kids right in at the get go. In fact, the whole story was smooth sailing....So Things got done. Lots of drama 🥲🥰 but not seriously intense. I like the council bldg demise and I am pissed Merlin got his book. I missed Kelsey and Trents reunion but they will be big in the nest installment. I love love love everything about this story. I hope the next book comes out soon.

Okay every time a review I have to push and beg for audible editions. I don’t know if the powers to be realize how messed up it is to 5 (now 6) installments on Audible and neglect to put the the last 6 books on. I can’t read anymore so I have have to listen to this in a robotic voice on Kindle. It is not great way to listen. I was happy my caregiver volunteered to read the last half to me. I was happy there wasn’t too many sexy scenes, although I love them...but I would be embarrassed having her read a lot a sex scenes to me.

A separate story arc of the Thieves series, the first in Outlaw is emotional and intense. The Thieves series already has another story arc, "Hunter" which I really enjoy. Is the Hunter series over? Because now, this new book, it starts a totally new chapter in the Thieves world and it is transitioning to focus on the next generation. The parents must now hand the reins over to the kids. Whilst this could be a standalone, I don't recommend reading this book first. I recommend reading all the books in Thieves series including the Hunter story line prior to reading this one.

In this case, the kids of Zoey and Kelsey are no longer the young preteens. A dozen years have passed. They may be in their early twenties and some barely 18, but they have lived a lifetime of training to survive as the most wanted "criminals" of the supernatural world. With a story summary like this, how could I resist?

LOVED it. I pre-ordered this book and had it in my TBR pile. I had it queued up in my Nook and kept putting it off while I read other books so I wouldn't finish it so quick but I knew when I started reading this book it would be in one sitting and I'd be left waiting for the next one and sure enough, that's exactly what happened today. It was so good to revisit with my favorite characters. Zoey, Danny and Dev but this time their kids weren't little, they'd grown up in the four days that the trio had been missing. More time than they'd expected had passed and things weren't as they'd left it (not that they were surprised by that). Kelsey returns and goes to find Trent and Grey. The group has brought back a new member whom they'll need to help them in the future to battle Myrddin and his followers. I hate that it ended where it did because it obviously needs another book (which I recall hearing will be coming out in the future but I want to know what happens now!) It really was fantastic but if you haven't following the series, don't just into now, go and read the beginning otherwise it won't really make the best sense. It'll be a much better read and so worth the wait.
