Bree-Kayah Saar, as Starla was sent to the planet Not by the Tri-Galaxy Alliance to work under the villain, Tochar, in an attempt to destroy the weapons he used for protection of the planet. The planet was a safe place for villains and he carried out many missions to steal drugs and moonbeams. Tochar knew that the moonbeams held powers but he didn't know to what extent. He stole them and sold them to the highest bidder. Starla was to relay information that would result in the destruction of his moonbeam controlled weapons and to see Tochar captured. The planet would be destroyed and the villains captured or killed.
Starla was sent with her Cyborg companion who had been with her for many years. He was her best friend and confidant. He was as close to human as a robot could get. He was a true friend and protector for Starla. She was sent to Not because someone was communicating the movement of the moonbeams to Tochar giving him the ability to steal them without getting caught. Tochar's goal was to eventually take control of Trilabs which was a drug company owned by Starla's parents. Her leader thought that as Starla, a woman would be less likely to be identified as a traitor to Tochar's cause. So far, it had worked. Starla had prevented a few thefts and destroyed the moonbeams that Tochar had stored. She hadn't been identified yet.
Dagan Tatu had come to the planet under another group of protectors to trap and arrest Tochar. He found out that someone was helping and guessed and hoped it turned out to be Starla. She was the most interesting woman he had ever met and felt drawn to her in a way he couldn't help. They first met when she was robbing a ship and he happened to be on board. They fought and she had taken him down. She was ordered to kill him but only stunned him. When he arrived on the planet, she was scared at first that he would identify her but that didn't happen. She wanted to learn more about him so she used her shape shifting ability and turned into Yana. She sprayed herself with an aphrodisiac that Dagan couldn't resist and slept with him to get information. She was surprised but happy to learn that he kept his distance from Yana after that because he was more interested in Starla. He didn't realize what had happened to him. He just knew that he couldn't resist Yana so he stayed a distance from her when they talked.
Dagan's family had all been killed by Tochar when Dagan was young. He grew up to become an I-GAF agent, Inter-Galatic Alliance Force, and his goal was to see Tochar punished for what he had done to his family. His real name was Curran Thaiter of the planet Kalfa.
Starla was eventually identified by Tochar as a traitor and with both Dagan's and her leaders, they worked out a plan to capture Tochar. They caught two top officials of planets and then shape shifted into them to lead Tochar into a trap. Dagan then changed into Tochar and placed bombs on the planet's weapons to destroy them.
Dagan and Starla where honored for the work they had done, finally together. They had fallen in love and both quit their jobs to be together. They decided that they would work when asked, but together on any missions until they decided it was time to begin a family. They were married after Curran met Bree-Kayah's family. They approved of her choice.

This was one of those "screw it I want some mindless fluff" books that I read years ago. I actually found it pretty entertaining and a decent story for the type of novel that it is. I wound up reading the entire four book series. It's by no means a great literary piece of work, but if all you're looking for is a fun story and some mindless sex scenes, these books are for you.

Such a great book!

Starlight & Splendor by #JanelleTaylor is a throwback from the 1995 & is book 4 of the series. Unlike the prior 3 books that I have read in the past, this is a new one for me! Not sure how I missed it back then though 😂 Multiple POV.

Bree-Kayah Saar aka Starla is Varian/Jana’s unexpected 3rd child after almost 27 years of marriage! Starla is now 22 & is working undercover for Star Fleet & meets Curran Thaiter aka Dagan Latu who is also working undercover for I-GAF (Inter-Galactic Alliance Force). Neither can reveal their identities. They both think the other are space pirates.

Starla has a potion to shape shift into Yana with sexual pheromones & uses them to seduce Dagan. Dagan doesn’t know how & why he gave in to Yana when he really wants Starla.

Starla as Yana tries to get info from Dagan which he does not share. Dagan ran both voice & fingerprints of both Yana & Starla & got nothing from both.

Starla & Dagan both are trying to get the other to leave the space pirate job but neither are telling each other why they need to. They have admitted to themselves they love the other.

Starla is unloading a stolen shipment when it’s discovered that she is undercover by a traitor to the Maffei Galaxy. She kills him but not before he has a chance to shout out that her leader has a a traitor. She tries to talk her way out but he doesn’t believe her. She has her android beam her up to her ship, not having a chance to let Dagan know what is happening.

Starla goes to visit Dagan as Yana & then confesses to him she is Starla but really is Bree-Kayah. Dagan confesses he is really Curran. They disclose their true pasts & about their jobs.

They take down the leader, Dagan retires from I-GAF & they go to Maffei where they mate. Aww🥰 This was such a fantastic book! According to the end, there was a 5th book to be released in 2018 but was not. 😭

I know it's a Sci-Fi romance but I literally was so confused with all the other Sci-Fi term but overall I enjoyed it, love love love the chemistry of Curran and Bree Kaya.
