Name's Bain, my brothers call me JD. My woman calls me Jax. Those are the nicest of the many names I've been called. I ride hard, fight harder, and don't die easily. My club is right under that line of being called 1 per-centers. For now, we ride for one reason and one reason only...we're riding straight for hell. I glance in my mirrors and smile seeing the riders behind me. They could give a shit, to the last man they agree ‘today is as good as any to die’. I’ve been told some call me the son of Satan himself. Fucking jokes on them because I’ve been called a hell of a lot worse. Truth is my old man was meaner than the Devil on his worst day. The old man didn’t love much, but what he did love, he loved fiercely and it was good. He loved the Club, Devils Bones, my Mom and me and my kid brother, not always in that order because his love for the Club was his life and his death. With the spawns of hell, not far behind me, I rode hell-bent for home. I saw the bike tracks as I turned down the drive that would take me to the house. I didn’t slow my bike down until I slid in front of the back steps. Dead. They were dead. Both shot twice in the back of the head and once through their hearts. Two bones lay in a pool of blood, the mark of Devils Bones. I knew those Spawns of Hell would come back – they had no choice – they’d come for my little brother and me. Cal came running in our backdoor, yelling for Mom. I grabbed him and pulled him back before he could drop down on the floor beside our parents. With blood on my hands and those two bones in my pocket, I made him wait outside while I did what had to be done. Not looking back. I put Cal on the bike in front of me, and the heat from the explosion hit my back as we rode out. Hell of a way to celebrate our birthdays. My sixteenth and Cal’s tenth.

For Cree Nations first attempt at writing an MC novel she knocked it clear out of the ballpark. Hitting the road with Lucy, Bain tries to put as much distance between himself and the demons chasing him. However, no matter how far or fast he went those demons always seemed to find him. After being betrayed by those he should be able to trust Bain starts questioning everything and everyone. Twists and turns abound, this book is a definite five star read and should be on every MC lovers To Be Read List. I can hardly wait for the next book in the Renegade Nomads series.
Lots of twist and turns and way too many lies and secrets. Bain has always thought he needed to avenge the murder of his parents, but at the age of sixteen there wasn't much he could do, so he joined the service. He came home and still had revenge on his mind, but the club wanted to have his back and did, but like I said, lots of lies and secrets came to the fore front. Happy reading.
This was a great MC story. There was something new at every turn. Bain never new what he was going to learn next about his past. I couldn't put it down at all. I can say that this mc story stays true to it self. There is some tough and harsh things that happen, but in the end you can't help but fall completely in love and hate with all the characters. I am so glad to see Cree venture into this area of writing. Her writing is great for this genre.
I just couldn't seem to really get into this book. It took a whole day to finish it. It seem to all run together , so it was hard forme. But I will try another if there are to be more. Maybe it was just this one to me.
