✅ Mythology and gods
✅ World-building
✅ Funny moments (not as many as in the previous books though)
✅ Characters
✅ Reverse-harem and smut
✅ Action
✅🆗 Plot
🆗 OTT ending (but at the same time it fits with the rest of the series)

Did I reread this whole series in only 3 days? Yes I did.
Do I regret it? Not at all.

"The six of us, we are as permanent as this marble. It will never fade. Never deteriorate. Forever."

I will miss Willa and her guys, but this book is a nice, funny, and sexy conclusion. It was time to conclude though because the plot was getting a bit thin. This is a must-read series if you are a fan of reverse-harem or if you want to discover what reverse-harem is. It is also a perfect light, sweet, and funny series to read. If you don't laugh while reading this series, I don't know what can make you laugh, I can't remember laughing so much and having so much fun while reading a series in a long time. That being said, while I liked the more serious tone of the last two books, which was necessary for the “real” plot to move forward, I have to say that I miss the walking disaster that was Willa in the first 3 books. It’s the main reason I fell in love with the first book after all.

Everything is finally resolved and everyone gets to have their happy ending. I am not always a fan of happily-ever-after endings where everyone gets a perfect life, but at the same time, it fits with this series because from the beginning there was a touch of silly and over-the-top in this series that reminded us not to take it too seriously. Still, this HEA ending was pretty over-the-top, and I am not sure I love it that much. I wanted everyone to be happy of course, but the way everything ended up is just almost too much and too perfect.

The romance in the last two books is more intense, and it's worth all the sexual tension building in the first half of this series. There is smut, but honestly, for a reverse harem, it’s really not that spicy. There are a few threesomes, but they remain pretty tame and not that graphic in comparison to other RH I’ve read. It’s more about Willa having one-on-one time with all of the guys, and sometimes them watching while it happens, but no big graphic orgy, so it might be a good series if you are looking for a RH that is not too explicit.

The guys are less arrogant in this last book, and even more empathetic with people other than Willa, and I was pleasantly surprised by that change. I loved the way they didn’t care about anything besides their clan and Willa in the first books, but it was nice to see that Willa had an impact on them too and that they started to think more about the others because of her.

“It won’t matter,” Pica interrupted, before they could start fighting. “They will come, no matter where it is. They will come to see my Willy.”
“That’s what he said,” Cyrus muttered.

I am still in love with Cyrus, and I enjoyed seeing him with Emmy, but I definitely would have liked more of him. I would like another Neutral novella (5.5) please and thank you.

5 out of 5 stars ⭐️

"The six of us, we are as permanent as this marble. It will never fade. Never deteriorate. Forever."

I loved this whole series including the Neutral novella. I was so impatient to get this book, but after I finished reading it I'm sad that it's over. Pain was emotional, funny, and sexy with a large dose of Willa basically doing things her way and solving all their problems. I have grown to love all the characters and their individual quarks. Rome is still my number one bae in the series❤️! I highly recommend to anyone that's starting to get into the reverse harem genre to start off with this series.

Spoilers ahead:
~ Pica being called Crazy-pants🤣.
~ Donald still has a piece of her soul inside her server body.
~ Willa turned Terrance into a mudhog😂.
~ Willa turned two female mudhogs into beautiful women.
~ Crowe's a jackass🤬!!
~ We find out Willa's mom real name.

~ We meet a few more of the Original gods.
~
~ I love Jakan❤️!
~ We find out how to balance the powers between minatsol and topia again.
~ Willa becoming a leader and helping the dwellers escape Staviti's server army.
~ The reason why Adeline goes away for a long time.
~ Willa has a plan to get rid of Staviti and Crowe.

7/18/2018: OH MY GOD😲😍!!!!! I did not expect Jane and Jaymin to release both the cover and the blurb of Pain today! I was already hyped up for Strength coming out this Friday, now I’m even more desperate to get my hands on it😭😣!

Also, that cover is stunning😍! The dark gray mixed with the gold symbols really brings out how gorgeous Willa is ❤️.

12/3/2017: If this is going to be the last book, then it’s time for me to find another series that’s as good as this one 😭, I highly doubt I’ll find one anytime soon😢.

Don’t leave me Abcurse brothers, and Willa!!😢

On the side note though, I’m so pumped to read the last two books!!! I hope they’ll get released early next year!!😃

EDIT: I’ve now read pain since it was released yesterday and so I’ve deleted my last re-view from before and am now writing my thoughts on the book after release.
This review DOES contain spoilers, so please don’t read it if you haven’t read the book yet. You have now been warned and I can get on with it😂

I have to say I’m actually rather disappointed with this book😢😭

It has been such an incredible journey from trickery to strength. The Curse of the Gods series was my first ever RH book(s) and each one has had me laughing and rooting for them from the beginning, which is why I write this review with such a heavy heart. This finale had so much potential but I found some parts rather lacking in comparison to the other books. I was seriously debating whether I should give a two or three star to it but I settled on three because I have a soft spot for the series as a whole.

As I mentioned before, this book had a lot of potential and some high standards to live up to after the other books in this series and unfortunately, for me, it missed the mark.
We got some answers at last like; where Adelaide went, who Willa’s father is (though we all kinda guessed after the last book) how the worlds were out of balance (in more specifics). So overall the plot development was good and the writing was consistent with the other books.

However, the things that had me disappointed were that we have had so much build up for some characters and moments and yet we didn’t get much of them. We briefly met all the original gods but we didn’t find out much about their personalities or the full effect of their gifts/powers.
We knew that the Abcurses don’t take lightly to someone trying to hurt one of them but there was no retribution, not even a single mention, of “the Fakey’s”, Dru or Aedian. Even though they had said on more than one occasion they would get what was coming to them.
There were also opportunities to have brief cameos of other small/side characters from a few of the other books; they went to ring nine so, we could of had a brief interaction with Zachary the dead dweller deliverer.
And now for my main reason for disappointment... the epilogue. It has kind of tainted the rest of the series a bit for me now, similar to the Divergent and Maze Runner series (in my opinion) but not as strongly😅.
I have mentioned on multiple occasions that I didn’t want Willa to have kids. But it’s only one life-cycle later and she’s heavily pregnant🙄. Willa, a now 19 year old, is already pregnant and ready to start a family? Really? She hadn’t known the Abcurses for that long before the overthrow of Staviti. It definitely hadn’t been a year yet but here she is only a year later having their kids. They’d barely gotten to know each other due to how quickly everything was moving and they most certainly didn’t get the chance to fully enjoy their dynamic for a few years.

And there were other things as well which just seemed really out of character to me. Such as how logically Willa was thinking about how she felt towards her mother and the neglect she had gone through. Emotions aren’t logical so it would have been okay for her to feel contradicting feelings about the fact that she has her now. Also the same goes for finding out about her father.
I know her whole soul wasn’t there but, there was enough that I think she could have raised Willa.
And random thought; why are Willa’s eyes brown when both her parents have blue eyes?
I also think that Emmy was kind of overshadowing Willa a bit when it came to her loved ones again, for example how overprotective Jakan was of her to Cyrus, when he wasn’t so bothered about Willa despite being Willa’s biological father and only now getting to be with her.
In fact everyone seemed more loving towards her unborn children, once again she was being a bit overshadowed and pushed aside, in my mind. I mean if their had to be children in the near future, why wasn’t Emmy the pregnant one, since she is the goddess of fertility? I feel like Emmy would be the first one to make this step but nope😩.

So, in conclusion, I will always have a soft spot for this series and Willa and her Abcurses—now knights—but I’m unsure if I would ever read a novella about their little family life, if one was released however, we’ve been informed that this is the last book in the Curse of the Gods series, so I’m kinda glad I won’t be put into such a difficult position😂. This has kinda tainted the rest of the series for me though which really upsets me as it has been one of my all time favourites, with its laugh out loud moments and witty banter. But if this was how it was going to end all along then I have to say it was well written and I thank the authors for the amazing moments they gifted me with.

Thank you for reading my review if you got this far😂😋

3 stars because of a weak ending. I’m still on the fence whether the re-read of books 1-3 was worth it to finally finish this series. Apart from the OTT ending which also bored me a bit, I really missed the light-hearted tone and ridiculousness of the previous books; though, admittedly, a change to more seriousness was needed to conclude the series, with Willa (h) coming into her powers and no longer being the hilarious, clumsy, accident-prone dweller/lower-caste human. And yet, even if it made sense, I missed ridiculous Willa and that’s why this series was at its best in the early books and why I could (should??) have left it there.

What I loved about the series, apart from previous Willa, where, of course the five Abcurse boys - Coen, Rome, Aros, Yael, and Siret with their respective gifts of Pain, Strength, Seduction, Persuasion, and Trickery. However, they mostly served as Willa’s sidekicks/lovers in this installment and had zero character arcs. They remain their usual, slightly less arrogant, competent selves. (And that was surprisingly ok with me.)

Speaking of character arcs: While I appreciated a backstory (quite a tragic one that was glossed over a lot in the end) for Willa’s mother and her father, the ending was OTT and too sunshine-and-ponies for me. Actually, the entire ending with the new world order was OTT and felt too simplistic.

Now to the smut. Seeing as the final resolution of the plot itself did not wow me, I was curiously awaiting the ménage à six and the logistics of that. In case you were wondering, yes, that did happen; yet it was more a taking-turns-while-watching deal. I kind of expected more? I mean there was a threesome once (or twice) so a repeat or building on that would have made sense. Also, throughout the series there are mostly one-on-ones and no in-between between a ménage à trois and ménage à six which seems like a whole lot of wasted potential on the smut scale. Oh well.

Still, you should not read this series if you’re looking for smut all the way; this is a romantic fantasy with RH thrown in - and that only really starts to get explicit towards the end in book 2.

SO SHOULD YOU READ THIS SERIES? If you’re looking to be entertained and ready to laugh at Willa‘s ridiculous inner monologue while looking for a good balance of fantasy and smut, you should definitely read books 1 to 3. If your interest wanes by then and you’re not a completionist, maybe listen to your gut. You don’t lose out on much if you don’t finish plot-wise.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Glad To Be Done*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

Book five picks up a few sun-cycles (day) after book four. Now that Willa is a god and her link to the Abcurses are now a soul-bond: it’s a rare connection that only gods can share, Willa just want to save the world from the power hungry Staviti. Overall, I skimmed this book quite a lot. I just wasn't invested anymore. I actually stopped being invested after book three, to be honest. The book couldn't hold my attention at all. I didn't like how the Abcurses became more side characters while at the same time being main character. They were just there to be lovers to Willa. That said, I'm glad I'm finally done with the series. The ending was quite anti-climatic and I had hoped for something better. This opinion my be because I'm sick at the moment and my energy wasn't all there, but I don't think I would've liked it all that much more had I been feeling well.... Also I have to point out that I didn't like that dwellers and sols are now equal to gods... it doesn't feel correct.

Characters:
Willa ‘Will’ ‘Rocks’ ‘Solider’ ‘Dweller-baby’ ‘Willa-Toy’ Knight (18),
The Abcurse brothers (made up name):
Coen ‘One’, the gift of Pain.
Rome ‘Two’, the gift of Strength. Coen and Rome were twins.
Siret ‘Five’, the gift of Trickery.
Yael ‘Four’, the gift of Persuasion.
Aros ‘Three’, the gift of Seduction. Siret, Yael and Aros were triplets.

Emmanuelle ‘Emmy’ ‘Em’, Willa's best friend, pseudo-sister and fellow dweller recruit to serve at Blesswood. Staviti killed her towards the end of book four, but Willa saved her and turned her into a goddess of fertility.
Cyrus, a Neutral god who deal in the disputes of the gods. Has power that is beyond even Staviti, was created as a balance, which means Cyrus have gods trying to take him down on a regular basis. Gods that don’t want balance. Together with Emmy.
Leden, a pantera who Willa bonded with.
Sienna, the Beta of Revelry who had a brief liaison with Aros and Coen.
Lancaster, a god, healer.
Jakan, Staviti’s older brother - twins. A god - the power of Creation? Who is in the imprisonment realm. Willa's father.
King, a god. Throws parties.
Winnifred, Dweller, Willa's mother and Jakan's soul-bond. Staviti killed her and turned her into a server called, Donald.
Brianna, a server. Willa turned him to a God of Flattery, now called Brian. Though turning a brainwashed server into a god doesn’t really remove the brainwashing. Now he’s just brainwashed in a different way.

The God tree:
Staviti (Original God)
Ten companions - The Original Gods who Staviti created:
Adeline (Goddess of Beauty) - the Abcurses mother.
Abil (God of Trickery) - Aka D.O.D. (dear old dad), the Abcurses father.
Rau (God of Chaos) - has one big problem: he’s one of the only Original Gods without a Beta and no one really knows why there has never been a sol to step into the role. Died in book four - Willa dragged him into the imprisonment realm and killed a portion of his soul.
Terence (God of Bestiary)
Lorda (Goddess of Obsession)
Pica (Goddess of Love) -
Ciune (Goddess of Wisdom)
Gable (God of Vice)
Crowe (God of Death) - was the only Original God capable of killing other gods.
Haven (God of Nature)
There are ten Originals, nine Betas to the Originals, and about a hundred and eighty others who form minor deities. The chosen sols.

Did I weirdly time this re-read? Maybe. Because I had no idea, I read this around the same day a year ago lol. rtc
____________
I'm so sad that I finished this series so freaking quickly. Why must I love these books so much? WHY?!?!

That being said, I definitely enjoyed my re-read of this wonderful series. I fell back in love with everything that was happening. Even if I had to deal with Pica being a psycho at times. It was just awesome to see Will and the gang back together. Even if they had to get through Straviti before they found eternal happiness or whatever.

I almost had tears when the guys asked Willa to be their wife. All I can say it was about god damn time. Then I laughed when Cyrus and Emmy also got married and everyone was like.. it's unusual for gods to marry and he was like .. Do it. Now. Peasant.

In the end, the epilogue gave all kinds of good vibes and feels. Now I need to find a new series to love.. or dive into another re-read that I love. Choices. Decisions.

Last book of my favorite series. I love every character in this and now I can't wait to dive into this series again.. like in a year.

Willa is just ugh, everything! I loved her in this book because I was getting to know more about her powers and her family. I knew my theory about her dad was correct and I honestly jumped up and down like a crazy kid who got a barbie for christmas. Or something like that.. 'cause dolls scare the shit out of me.

Her love with the guys is what kept me engaged. I loved them so much and was shipping them since the day they met in book 1. So, of course, I had my fan girl moments toward the end of this book. Then the whole epic battle between her and Stravati was one for the books. He needed to go because of what he did to everyone. He was a selfish douche who deserved to die.

Other than that, I was so pumped for all the happy ever afters. The hint of kids. Heck, everything. It was one big family reunion that made my heart so freaking happy. I loved diving into this and now it's all bittersweet because it's over. I hope I never forget Willa and the guys.

I didn't like it

First off, I'm going to miss Willa the great. Secondly, i'm glad this series has ended because it started to lose what made it so good. This book was a total "meh" and I have been a die hard Abcurses fan since the very first book. Mediocre end to an otherwise great series.

GUYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! This series is a #Mustread. Seriously, your missing out!! It's like watching a first season of the most amazing anime sitcom, hilarious things happen all the time, nothing angsty. I could have started on episode 3 and still get it. Really good.

I hope Washington sensei and Eve sensei return to Willa and her guys one day 'cuz a gazillion missing opportunities and I NEED MORE. I never felt so close to a character before. Willa is like my soulmate, it's like the senseis entered my mind and kidnapped my thoughts.

A perfect ending

Everything was resolved and everyone lived happily ever after. It was a tad boring.

All the guys' personalities meshed into this single person and they all followed Willa around like puppy dogs. Willa is no longer clumsy and helpless, which is what made her unique in the first place.

Emmy and Neutral are both annoying. They're perfect for each other.

Fun, sexy and a good end to the series. Not as ‘laugh out loud’ as the previous books, nowhere near as funny as the first few books, but enjoyable.

Willa and the boys were as wonderful as always, and Emmy wasn’t as annoying as she was in the last book. Cyrus was a babe. New characters were introduced and the book was entertaining and captivating. Lots of sex, just a warning.

Yep, that’s all. There’s not really much to say without spoilers. And this book also isn’t a very serious or intense book that needs a review. It’s light, sweet fun.

Thanks to Jaymin Eve and Jane Washington for the fun :D

2nd time reading

I loved rereading this series. Willa is hilarious and her journey from clumsy dweller to badass goddess is so much fun. Throughout the story, she's unapologetically herself and doesn't let pressure from others change her. The Abcurses also love Willa no matter what and their relationship is so great.

We saw a bunch of the other gods in this book, which I thought was pretty cool. I liked seeing some background about Topia and Minatsol and expanding the world a bit. Emmy and Cyrus are also in this quite a bit and I adore them. They fight so much but it's really just them playing around and Emmy is so good for Cyrus.

This is more action and less jokes and sexy scenes, but I liked how it wrapped everything up. I wish there was another book!

***************************************

Great conclusion to the series

4.5 stars! I loved these books! Willa is so awesome, she's strong and opinionated and puts arrogant Gods and Sols in their places. She makes me laugh out loud and I'm so jealous of her relationship with the Abcurse brothers. The culmination of her story was amazing and we got answers to all the questions. There was a lot more sexy time in this book which I feel liked I've been waiting for forever, so that made this great also. I wish we could have had some chapters from the brother's points of view, like Cyrus in the Neutral story. It would be cool to see things from their perspectives.
Super fun series!

I'm 89% through and despite some signs Willa is evolving this book is very much in par with the others. No plot, aimless journey, a lot of comic relief, good action scenes, sexy moments. Nothing much, just an enjoyable book for reverse harem fans. Who else knows about this book asides amazon consumers? I hoped all along the authors would get better editing support so that this book would become the mainstream phenomena a cast of characters like those deserved. It didn't happen, but never mind that. I enjoyed the series and I would recommend to RH fans.

I'm also confused about the genre. When the series started it was mostly Young Adult, and for the last three books it has turned into steamy paranormal? But Willa's voice is too juvenile to be taken seriously. I praised Trickery for being funny and being a fantasy that, unlike so many YA fantasy, didn't take itself so seriously. After all Young adult is for 12-18 years-old kids. However the way the series is now I wouldn't recommend The curse of the gods series to younger readers.

Holy shitty ending Batman. I read five effing books for that terribly anticlimatic ending?! What was that horse shit!?!? I'm so super pissed. I mean cool they beat the bad guy and got a happy ending, yada yada. But like, seriously a five book build up for the take down of the bad guy to last maybe five paragraphs?! I'm calling bullshit. I am so mad about this that I give zero fucks about writing an actual review about this book... Just this rant, that's all the review is going to be. -.-

Initially I planned to wait for the audio book but found some time to squeeze in some actual reading in December. I was curious to see how Curse of the gods will be wrapped up and if everyone survives. I'm not really sure if I made the right decision but you know what they say about curiosity and the cat. In this case instead of a cat we have my limited time for readin-reading vs audio-reading.

Pain left me with conflicting emotions - I'm both sad and ridiculously happy that the series is over. I really like the series and I've come to love all the main characters but at the same time Willa is overwhelming and most of the time not in a good way. I'm actually glad I didn't read it the moment it was released because with the burnout I had from the previous books I'd probably have ended up hating it. And it doesn't deserve it.

To be honest what really annoyed me was the epilogue. Everything was more or less great prior to it. I disliked the way the final stand-off with Staviti was rushed, especially considering the build up of five books but I could live with that. After all I didn't expect some masterpiece, just some more or less mindless entertainment. In fact I enjoyed the first 3 books a lot more despite Willa being a lot more annoying in them because they were more focused on the relationship she had with her five guys. This one was trying too hard to wrap up everything and it fell short. But I could live with that if Jane Washington and Jaymin Eve hadn't decided to end things with the biggest cliches of them all. Maybe I'm so disappointed because I was hoping that considering how young Willa is and how irresponsible they would choose to end it on a different note and I ended up feeling meh.

Plot wise it probably had a gazillion plot holes but thankfully I managed to sufficiently suspend the analytical part of my brain so I didn't really notice them. But in the interest of not destroying my mostly good opinion I will never reread this. I might reread Trickery but will probably never go beyond that.

I’m still trying to figure out the titles of these books as they have literally nothing to do with the specific god. Now, this series def could’ve and should’ve stopped at 3 books. A huge draw is the tension and once that is eliminated in book 3 it’s boring and book 5 is too much. The authors should’ve considered a full length book from the perspective of Cyrus and Emmy ... and what’s with the brothers all the sudden don’t hear all her thoughts? I hate lazy writing like that— this rule only applies when it’s convenient and otherwise we just ignore it. Obviously I still finished it after 4.5 books in, bht disappointing. Even the big showdown was the lamest, shortest conflict I’ve ever read. Literally a plan was devised and then executed with no problem. Wut. The problem is the books try to be mindless “romance” — that’s what the should’ve stuck to. By book 5 they’re thing to be a legit story and oof it just falls flat. Would still recommend the series if you’re okay with some brother-husbands lol

Well it's official, as the series draws to a close and the big battles are fought, the scenes that kept me smiling and laughing ended. Willa is almost completely not clumsy anymore and that definitely took away from the reading experience. She is a god now, and a powerful one to boot. So it made since for her to be able to start walking straight. But her clumsiness and willing to just do whatever crazy scene popped into her head is what made me love this series. Now, although still willing to do random stuff, her guys either stop her, or her choices have massive consequences. The book was good, but either serious or smutty. You don't really find reasons to laugh. Still loved the series, if this is the kind of books you like, then I highly recommend!

Me reading this series:

Me now after I've read five books in the past three days:
description

Thank god it's the weekend so I can finally catch up on sleep 😴 All joking aside... I flew through this series and it's definitely a new favorite of mine.

📘 I HAVE NEVER READ another series like this, and I'm not saying that just because this is my first time reading reverse harem. I think it's a combination of the silliness and humor mixed in with a mostly interesting world, plus a seriously sexy romance by the end. This series is not to be taken too seriously so you shouldn't expect anything deep or profound from it.

🌞 THE ENDING WAS SUPER CHEESY but it fits with how over-the-top and silly everything else in the series was.

❤️ THE ROMANCE IN THE LAST TWO BOOKS was worth the slow burn from the first half of the series. We finally got some super satisfying scenes... it's definitely smutty but not OTT and I appreciated how the boys were all really sweet with Willa as opposed to being super alpha/controlling.

🏆 MY PERSONAL RANKING still hasn't changed a lot. Coen has been my favorite pretty much throughout the entire series 🥰 (1) Coen > (2) Yael > (3) Siret > (4) Rome > (5) Aros

Overall, the first two books in the series were my favorite. I became less interested in the plot and more interested in the romance and the characters as the series went on. I'll be honest, there were definitely times in the last two books where I skimmed over chapters, but it didn't make me enjoy the series any less because the story is definitely more focused on the romance and characters anyway. I definitely recommend this to anyone that wants a fun read with a good romance!

No Spoilers! Definitely colorful language abound!

My love for this series declined with each book. The plot got a little wild in this final installment, but whatever because I was grateful for it to be wrapping up. I have to say, this is the fourth series I've read this year that I totally disengaged with at the last book... so maybe it's me? I'm just happy that I finished it.

"As soon as we know your god colour, we'll weave it through as well," he murmured, his breath brushing across my cheek as he leaned down to me. "The six of us, we are as permanent as this marble. It will never fade. Never deteriorate. Forever."
"Unless I accidentally burn it down," I amended. "Or Pica loves it to death."

~

"Really not sure I'm going to survive the five of you," I admitted, shaking my head to try and clear it.
He laughed. "You match us perfectly. There is no one else who would be able to take on all five of us at once, but you do it as though you were made for it, and you make it seem like we were made for it. You're going to survive. We'll make sure of it."
His words brooked no argument. I was surviving no matter what. Sometimes I wondered if my heart would swell so much that one sun-cycle it would just burst from my chest.

You know, I don't have a lot to say about this one. I love this series, and I love Willa and her Abcurses. I'm glad they got their HEA, but this book wasn't as great as the others. Not as funny, probably because Willa is "coming into herself" as a god and not nearly as clumsy as before. There's tons of stuff going on, there's dramatic twists and turns, questions are answered, but in the end it felt like a whole lot of build up for a pretty tame "showdown". It was good, and I liked how it ended, and the result with both worlds, but it still seemed like the majority of it was planning and preparing and running around for a rather tidy, almost simple, ending. I really loved the epilogue though, and I really, really hope these authors come back and do something with that.

"I'll meet you there."
They didn't even hesitate, despite how much I knew they would hate to leave me alone with Pica. My guys knew better than to assume I was too weak to look after myself. I wasn't the smartest dweller-turned-god, but I made up for it in…incredibly dangerous accidents. Really, it didn't matter if I was the best at protecting myself. It was more that I needed to try. I didn't want to disappear behind the Abcurses. I wanted to stand level with them, just as strong, just as fierce.

~

"I don't think there's anything you can't do, Willa Knight," he said to me. "Don't underestimate yourself."
I was guilty of that, and also of not even trying because I thought I might fail. I had to stop with that sort of attitude. I'd seen miraculous things happen recently. I'd done miraculous things. I had to believe I could do anything if I worked hard enough at it.

My biggest issue with this series is that they never dared to actually go THERE. As fun as the spicy scenes were, they never hit the mark and were always vague or quickly over with. 😞

Perhaps I’m in a book slump because I have had a cold that just won’t go away and I’m extra crotchety, but I’m glad this is over. (I will admit to putting aside books I know I’ll like when in a better mood)

I enjoyed the Curse of the Gods series as a whole, but honestly the world building and universe leave A LOT to be desired. Plot holes a mile wide, previously listed inconstancies, and abnormal reactions and behaviors were peppered throughout the series, but romance and sexy times carried it, until Pain.. Pain just really exhibited and outlined the most serious flaws of the series. This tries and fails on the fantasy world building aspect mainly because the authors contracted themselves a few times throughout. I couldn’t get over it.

I will start by saying that I am bias when it comes to this series. This was my first experience with the world of RH, so it will always hold a special place in my heart.

As a whole, I love this series. I adore Willa and her guys and the relationship that they built through out the series.

This was an incredible journey. The ending was perfect. I was happy with the way the story ended for Pica. I had conflicted feelings about her through out the story.

I would recommend this to all RH lovers, but don't binge read it or you will not enjoy the full effect of the story.

I’m sad it’s over.

But happy to see a conclusion. This series is basically what started me on my love for RH, so it’ll always be my favorite.
The CotG journey has been fun, humorous, stressful at times, ridiculous, sexy, and oh so good. This installment is a bit more serious. Willa has grown up and the Abcurses are sweeter. I found that I could’ve used a bit more of a final standoff, but in the end I was happy with the entire series.

It’s was good time for sure.

These books are definitely on the guilty pleasure category but I enjoyed them tremendously. They were exactly what my mood needed and I had a lot of fun reading them. They are the “don’t think too hard” kind of books and perfect for in between more heavy readings.
