They called me Battery, but as soon as I’m fully charged, they’re going to discover how much power I wield.

My path of vengeance took a detour when I was rescued by the gargoyles of Castle Viegls. For several months I allowed myself to become settled with these men; to think I could have a life when once I didn’t.

But danger is attracted to danger, and that’s exactly what I brought to this sanctuary. Now this group has been ripped apart. Putting DB, Knox and Hunter in harms way was never what I wanted. To keep them safe, I’ll have to leave.

I will get my revenge on the Lycans, but not before I make things right. I never came here to replace anyone. Being here has made me want to stay, but I can’t do that when I’m the threat. I’ll make sure that I bring the guys back together before I go after the Lycans.

And if I survive that, hopefully they’ll welcome me back.

I almost gave up on this one because there were a lot of repetitive conversations and listening to Zera and the Gargoyles argue about what she can and can’t do felt like hitting my head into a wall in repeat. However, the story really picks up in the end and the plot ended up progressing a lot more than I thought it would. I was still frustrated by Zera’s personality though, because even though it makes sense given her circumstances and the context of the story it’s still just really annoying to read. There’s gotta be some balance in these stories with characters that grow in captivity between making them completely ignorant and giving them some kind of foundational knowledge. When they’re fully ignorant of the world, half the book ends up being the other characters explaining stuff to them. And in this case, Zera needs to get the same stuff explained to her tons of times and still continues to be stubborn, obstinate, and refuse to believe them. This makes it frustrating because she’s reckless and puts everyone in danger. How she hasn’t gotten them all killed yet is beyond me.

Goddamn, this cliffhanger has me foaming at the mouth. How am I supposed to survive without knowing what comes next?

I loved this book. It flowed smoothly from the first novel to the second. We got to see Zera grow as a person as well as further development in her relationships with Carter, Hunter, Knox, and Javion.

I gotta be honest, sometimes Zera made me cringe intensely. Some of the things she said or did... Oh lordy.

I'm on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next. My boy Javion better not be out of commission.

Blah

End of the road for me. This wasn't a bad book, just a book that has lost my attention. I found myself skimming through pages hoping for the story to pick up. Its a lot of filler which is a combination of funny and just plain old. By the end when the story finally picks ups, it was just to blah for me.

a lot of inconsistencies

As much as I like this story, there were a lot of inconsistencies that I picked up on. We ended Book 1 with Jovian getting kicked out and Zera being determined to get him back. This book started off saying that Zera didn’t want Javion to ever come back. Zera had just claimed the men as her mates and I know some time has passed by but I’m not here for the professing of love when not much has transpired after she claimed them as mates.

I’m glad they finally got around to teaching her to read but I wish she was more excited about it but I understand that she wanted to get better at things that would help her get revenge. With that being said, what did Zera really think she was going to do when everything gave her a panic attack? And Knox didn’t have the balls to go off on DB until Zera said something. The guys have told her several times that humans didn’t know that supes existed and the first thing she did was say she was looking for Lycans. If Javion is almost 100, how were nerds his favorite candy and he turned in the 80s? Is this book set in the future?

I don’t think Zera had that much of a way with words enough to go off on Carter like that. Like she knows what meek is? She doesn’t want to be treated like another possession? She knows what silk sheets are? Accommodate him? Erratically? Using figures of speech like I feel I got shot? The author goes between the FMC being a work in progress to cultivated in certain instances. Just not believable and worked my nerves.

I thought she astroprojrcted into the past. How did she do it in real time?

It’s also muzzle of the lycan not nuzzle. The author also called the elevator a lift.

Meh

A bit disappointed by this book😕 Nothing much happened until the end of the book and every turned around Javion and his f*cked up mind🙄
Moreover, the guys shoved their best paternalistic behaviour, not listening to Zera, decided what is best for her🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ It was uninteresting and I just felt bad for Zera.
Zera is such a pure soul but it totally deserved her. She appeared naive, foolish, just being a poor kid that the guys had to protect. Finally it felt like Zera was again captive but not physically but mentally, torn between her feelings and her desire of revenge. And the guys used it against her☹️
Then, I disliked the dynamic between Javion, Knox, and Zera. Javion was manipulative, jealous, and toxic. I felt bad for Zera, always being despised by him and not able to understand all his little sick game. Even when he tried to be nice, he sounded dismissive. I don't like this relationship at all in the book😣🤷🏻‍♀️

So damn good

So extremely good finally a good amount of death defying action. Following of course the romance and the serious sex drive that Zera is dealing with. that the boys just don't seem to think she has the ability to know if she wants to do it or not. Boy are they in for a surprise. The next book says it comes out next year I really hope it doesn't take that long

** Cliffhanger Warning! ** **Trigger Warning!** Put on your rubber shoes, it's going to be a jolting ride. I think this book is a little better than the first in this series. It's still a fantasy, slow to medium-burn, reverse harem romance. I'm happy to see the romance part heating up (or charging up), but this story has way more action of the non-smexy kind than smexy. Having said that, the couple of love scenes here are really good. Some questions from Book 1 are answered, but so many more have been raised.

I love how Zera is learning and trying to understand the world. She's smart, but naive/ignorant. It's obvious that if she had more time to study, then she would be the smartest person in the book. Carter (aka D.B.) is teaching her to read, mostly food-related words. Hunter is teaching with movies and TV, and Knox is trying to help her become more athletic. I love the scene with the "torture machine!" I hate treadmills, too. I'm happy to see Javion is back and trying to help, even though he's still a jerk.

I felt frustrated by the gargoyles, along with Zera. The guys keep evading her questions until she confronts them. It's almost as satisfying as the climax. That climax/cliffhanger is pretty awful! I was inconsolable for a while after the end.

Still lots of typos, but the editing is better than in Book 1.

I really do like the story and the world is very interesting as we slowly gain an understanding of the parameters we are functioning in. The mystery surrounding the FMC is also engaging as we slowly figure out what she’s capable of.

What irritates me is that she hasn’t grown as a character. As much as she’s saying that she’s spending her time learning about the world and wanting to make herself stronger, I’m not seeing much of the happening in her actions. She continues to refuse to see her shortcomings, as apparent as they are when she has moments being paralyzed in fear unable to do anything.

This book pushed me to the extremes in my feelings, at one point I almost felt like I would put the book down and not pick it back up when the FMC made some ridiculous illogical decisions. At the other end I almost cried when painful things were happening to one of the MMCs, and I wonder how we’re going to be dealing with that in the future.

We’re left with another action packed cliffhanger of an ending, so I’ll be picking up the next book without a doubt.

Our heroine is still figuring out her powers, as well as her relationships, but she has some issues to deal with and she it not going to stand by and let events take their course. Enemies beware!

This is book two of the series. It works pretty well as a standalone, but it is better if you start from the beginning.

This is an urban fantasy story with a reverse harem element to it. The story is very well written and easy to read. Both the setting and characters are well done and continue to grow and develop with each book, which is a big plus for me. This one had a good bit of action to it and ends on a definite cliffhanger, so be aware if that bothers you. Overall, this was another fun read and I look forward to the final book of the trilogy.

Highly recommended.

This is a really great sequel to the First Book Grounded. If you haven’t read it yet, go read it because it is really worth it, plus you’ll need to do so first in order to understand this story. It’s paranormal reverse harem that has a quite unique spin on it and creatures that aren’t often featured in other paranormal reverse harems. The world, character and relationship building is excellent in this story. Really worth the time investment for storyline alone. It ends on a cliff hanger but since the 3rd book is on its way, still worth reading it before that is released.

Thank you to the Author and Booksprout for the opportunity to read, review and give my unbiased opinion of a complimentary digital copy of the story.

3.75 stars.

got a bit tired of the heroine at times but i liked a lot of other stuff in this book. what took the cake were the last ~10%, definitely; they tipped the rating from 3 stars to almost 4 stars.
i also enjoyed how slow and natural the relationship progression was between the asshole H and the heroine. she didn't just one day wake up and realize she'd somehow fallen in love with him, no. she went a long time saying to his face that she neither liked nor hated him. she basically had no opinion of him, which was hilarious. other RH authors can learn a lot from that. there's nothing i hate more than a heroine somehow falling in love with someone who's been nothing but a dick to her from day 1. but that definitely wasn't how it went here, thankfully.

Javion is gone and Zera is still learning about the outside world and her powers. I really love her fierce attitude. The guys can be a little over-protective, but I like that she calls them on their crap. Based on the blurb, I was worried that this story would be about her taking off and not talking with the guys, which is one of my peeves, but it’s really not. I don’t want to get into any spoilers, but it’s is really only a minor part. I love the love-hate relationship she seems to have with Javion, especially since he’s not quite the jerk in this book. I can’t wait to see what happens in book 3 :)

Zera is back and this picks up almost right where book 1 left off. There’s a lot of drama happening that the guys won’t explain, I personally found them a little frustrating this time around. They were so protective that Zera wasn’t getting the info or teachings she really should have, even after asking. Despite that frustration, still a really enjoyable read and there is a lot of growth with all the characters personally and within the relationships. Warning that the cliffhanger is pretty brutal and I’m glad that this is a trilogy, all to avoid more cliffhanger book hangovers.

I really enjoyed this second book in the Elemental Magic Unleashed series. I was hooked from page one and was interested to see how things would go with Javion being gone. I couldn’t stand him in the first book but I still was curious as to if he’d be in Zera’s harem eventually or not. We learn more about Zera and it was exciting for me to see a little growth from her in this book. Baby steps. She still has a long way to go but I’m invested in where her story is going. The cliffhanger killed me but it only makes me look forward to the next book even more!

This is book 2 in the Elemental Magic Unleashed series and this story is getting so exciting and I can’t wait to read book 3, it has a cliffhanger ending nooo which is why this author needs to bring the next book out now but I guess you can’t rush perfection. The guys are frustrating the hell out of me so I could only imagine what Zera is feeling with them, sorry guys no spoilers so do yourself a favour and get this series you won’t go wrong. I loved this story and the characters and I highly recommend this book/ series.

Another winner

Great 2nd book in a trilogy, which is usually the weakest book of 3 in my opinion. Not this time. This book was well written and had great details. The characters continued to develop and grow into their personalities. I especially liked the dynamic between Javion and Zera. Zera, the h, continued to grow into her power and the guys were finally seeing her strength. The plot continued from Book 2 and was well developed and continued to hold my interest. Can’t wait for the final book to be released!

frustrating

This book repeated a lot of the same info from the first book. Characters are extremely obtuse. No communication whatsoever. Conflicts are contrived. Plot is scattered. Key events occur but are glossed over and then all of a sudden they come back to bite them. Interactions with various mates are beyond annoying and I do not enjoy a single relationship in this group. The way they treat each other is so immature for a group who are supposedly so experienced. There is very little to recommend this book other than the premise of her powers.

Did I enjoy this book and read it really fast like the first? Yes
Was it perfect? No
I feel like the entire book was zera telling them what she wanted and them not explaining and not listening. I get that she's naive because of what she went through but if they explained better instead of treating her like a child it would have been better for her. I wasn't a fan of javion at first but he's the only one who talks to her like she's an adult.
All in all I enjoyed it, just less than the first.
Am I looking forward to the third? Hell yes. I didn't know it wasn't out yet.

Talk about a cliffhanger lol. I cannot wait for book 3. I also love that there is a quick preview of the first book in the second for us readers who read so much. I am so looking forward to book 3. I love how well written this story is and from the different perspectives. I also am really starting to like Javion. Bring on book 3 :)

Fantastic! After the first book I was craving the second book and it did not disappoint. This book immediately sucked me back into the world of Zera and her men. Zera is still struggling to understand the world around her while her powers grow as well as her feelings for the men around her. Beware the cliffy!! 😱😱😱 I definitely had WTF moment and then there was no more pages. Absolutely fabulous! I cannot wait for the next book! 💜🖤

This is book two in the Elemental Magic Unleashed series and it was so freaking good! I love the innocence and curiosity in Zera. I couldn’t wait to see how things happened with Javion being banished from the castle. I knew it would hurt Knox but seeing how Zera responded to it was shocking. This book ends on a cliffhanger and I wanted to scream. I can’t wait to see what happens next!

still so good

Normally a middle book is not my favorite. This one did not feel like a middle book. The storyline is so intriguing that I cannot stop. I should have started this series not during a workweek. It is nearly impossible to get adulting done. I can’t wait to see how this ends!

This book is amazing! It made me squeal. And shout. All the emotions, dears. Zera annoys me sometimes and I really want to hit DB. How dare him deny a girl her pleasure fun? And Javion. I love how he and Zera enjoy annoying each other lol

The first half of the book was a little slow for me and I didn't get to see true gargoyle action until the end part of the book. Did get to see a lot more of Javion with Knox and Zera. The last part of the book moved fast and had lots of action to it as well as a cliffhanger.

I enjoyed the first book, but so far in this one, Zara feels like a robot with all of the things she doesn't understand/has never learned. It's continuous. Also, her complete lack of plan after knowing how much she screwed up in Atlanta is so frustrating.

Better

I liked this one better than the first book. More information and it was paced better. Still lagged in a couple of spots but they were short. And that cliffhanger was a duzzy.
