It is true that it starts from zero, but after reading it, you will not be a 'hero'. You will know the basics of ffmpeg, a rough comparison of modern codecs and the basics of some auxilliary programs like the UNIX shell or ImageMagick.

May be a good read for total beginners, but that's it. If you expect to learn about complex filter graphs or detailed encoding settings, you will be disappointed.

Informative, good explanations. I learned a lot. It needs to be proofread by a native English speaker though.
