Great series. Fantastic and amusing characters. A (really) slow burn romance between Taylor and Niki, which was really nicely done. Great action, great banter. First book was a good introduction to the characters and setting. Last book had a great concussion and set up for the next series. And all the books inbetwen were equally fantastic. This book series exceeded my expectations.
This is the ultimate in action, adventure and fantasy series. There is an alien ZOO on Earth and it threatens all life on the planet! Where it came from no-one knows but what it does is plain to the many who try to research it and keep it contained. It wants to consume our world and the whole world is determined not to let it do so! The crazy people who work there, who are not assigned there by their countries military, are brave and crazy. Taylor McFadden is one who was assigned there but he stayed through 83 missions before he finally left, much, much more than any other. When he left he thought he was done with fighting monsters forever. All he wants is to open a buisness repairing and improving the Mech suits the fighters in the ZOO use to protect themselves when they enter the ZOO. But fate isn't done with him yet. Now those same monsters are appearing on American soil and who better to fight them that him? Follow his life through monster fights, dealing with the Mob in Vegas and trying to come to terms with the crazy life he lives now. Highly recommended.
This ended up one of my favorite series. I love McFadden. He got such a bad rap at times, wholly undeserved. Loved reading about his journey. I loved all the side characters except Nikki. She was just a little to harsh. The fight scenes are amazing. I loved every scenario with the zoo critters. The imagination that went into this series was amazing. Sad to see it end, but at least we get more James in the McFadden and Banks series. We get multiple POVs which is great. Looking forward to ready Heavy !step series with Sal. The Zoo world has proven very fascinating.
Lost a star each: first book profanity referred to as spice. So any spice must make the dish better so dill and garlics don’t go well in birthday cake, therefore appropriate use is none/ tiny in this profanity drenched book 1. Wrong spice plus…too much will wreck the dish as in book one of this set The second star is why a crazy strong wild she (Niki)turns into simpering ninny in bed. Any man that big shouldn’t mind a woman on top action. Oh wait, written by a guy, so he may have a “pat her on the head” relationship with his little woman. Three stars for action.
Once again Michael Anderle has done a great job. Really well written characters and story lines. Rarely said about Michael's books, this series is for 18 and older. But just barely, because he doesn't go into great detail. I would give this series a 4.5 if I could, because Michael used "With that said" (or close) 122 times in the whole series. Yes, I counted! It drove me nuts!!!! Thanks again Michael!!!!! For people who haven't read any ZOO books, someone needs to make a reading order list😁😗🙁😯😲😜
Enjoyed the characters and the developing tensions.. I appreciate the writing style .. Not overwhelming dragged into long useless descriptions..
The story moves along at a good pace and keeps you wondering what is next.. The author is creative as always and develops a great foundation for endless opportunities to build on.
Once again Mr. Anderle, you have created a place where ones imagination can be drawn in and feast till the buffet table runs empty
I read this box set over five days. Couldnt put it down. I found his characters, their interaction, the way the company developed, and of course, their work, fascinating. I loved the "will they wont they" between Taylor and Nikki, plus the rest of the team waiting for them to realise there was a real connection with them. The Zoo was a terrific idea, almost anything can be pulled from that mess. 5 Stars, because thats all they let us leave. Now I need the M&B books to see where the story goes. Hopefully it doesnt end in tears! Thanks Michael, a really good read.
I have become a huge fan of Michael Anderle over the last 2 years. This series had me pretty well hooked from the first few pages. The story is very action filled with characters that you would love to meet and hang out with. I would recommend the series to anyone who enjoys near future Sci-Fi or perhaps just likes heroic action novels with fun characters and crazy dangerous alien creatures.
Definitely a great read! I really appreciate the characters from previous Zoo adventures appearing throughout the story. I have to admit that Sal is still one of my favorites especially with the three point super hero landing. It kept me up late many nights engrossed in the story line. Thank you very much for sharing this adventure. I hope to see more Zoo stories in the future including these characters as well as visits from their extended family.
and I didn't realize this was part of that world/universe/whatever. That being said, I enjoyed the Hades out of this series, and it looks like I'll have to check out the Metal series, as well. I have to give Michael props for a rollicking good time. Never a full moment¡
Like this series. The characters were growing as the series go on. Taylor still needs some work, as the "Merc" who started this is important that it had a better work
The stories are good and move on time. Desk is good, I'll have more of it, Vickie is young and risky, the rest are part of this craziness, well done
I say it’s awesome because this series kept my attention all the way to the end. And captures your imagination. Just imagining all the creatures and possibilities was very incredible. I loved it. The character’s were a blast to get to know. I just encourage everyone to read this series and try not to lose too much sleep along the way.
Great story telling, interesting characters, few grammatical errors
Michael Anderle writes about characters you feel you would like to know . With characters to want to see either succeed or get what they so richly deserve. The interactions among the characters feels like people you know. Glad I had the set and will look forward to reading more by Anderle.
Another great series from Michael Anderle. Loved all the gritty characters and crazy action. Lots of humor and even a little bit of romance. Gotta read the next zoo based series.😁
Wow, I think it was 7 books. Awesome characters that I could believe in. The writing actually put me in the books at times. Monsters in the jungle and those who kill them. Must read 👌
A bit to long... Well edited with only a few grammar errors. Characters are well written and the content is very good. Perspective changes among the characters helps to make the most sense of the various arcs.
Definitely a series that keeps you wanting for more ! The character lineup is so intriguing and intricate to the continuing story line. I can’t wait to more books with these characters.
Characters that you come to care about that are complex and fun to follow that are arranged around the main heros; Taylor and Niki, who are both smart and snarky when they want to be. And battlesuits against alien monsters? Yes, please! Highly recommended; 5 stars!
This is a part of the "Zoo" series. Alien goop, deadly and intelligent plants and creatures all ready to kill you. You are pulled into the stories and lives of the characters to the point of sleep deprivation. Enjoy the ride!
What happens when the Zoo animals wind up outside the Zoo? Especially in the USA? Great set of characters, well developed. Just a fun read, especial with the first 8 books all in one volume.
Once again Michael Anderle has done a great job. Really well written characters and story lines I highly recommend if you like none stop action with some snark & humor.
A very entertaining set of characters who engrossed me immediately. I had trouble putting this story down when I should have. Quick paced and very entertaining.
