A wonderfully generous book! Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 February 2022 It's unusual for such a seasoned academic to write such an accessible book and indeed to do so in his second language.
Bensaou does a magnificent job description of toggling between examples and frameworks and theories.
The real gem of this book is that the author himself worked as the lead consultant on so many of the case studies he shares.
Highlight case studies include Kordsa, EcoCem, Bayer and AkzoNobel as well as BASF, Samsung and Marvel.
The framework in chapter 10 enables anyone to start building their innovating muscles.
Great ideas but they could be related in 20 pages. It’s overloaded with examples that often repeat. And like many business books are light on the messy details and formulaic in their telling of successes: Company A was doing bad then it adopted my innovation approach and suddenly did amazing!
