Escape to Sugar Sand Beach with Erin Bradshaw and her best friends for a second chance at all life has to offer.
Forty-five year old Erin has grown restless with her life. Which is odd because she’s spent the past thirty years roaming the globe. Between summers in Alaska and winters in the Florida keys, she’s climbed the steps of Machu Picchu, hiked long sections of the Great Wall of China, and kayaked down the Amazon. Lately, though, Erin has felt the urge to put down roots, strengthen her neglected relationship with her sister, Reggie, and reconnect with her two best friends, Michelle and Nina.
When Michelle inherits a run-down beach house in sleepy Sugar Sand Beach and invites her friends to help convert it into an inn, Erin jumps at the chance to settle down with the best friends a girl could ever hope to have.
But now that Reggie’s garden is flourishing, customers crowd the tables in the Café, and the first of the Inn’s guests are due any day, a figure from Erin’s past makes a surprising appearance. When he threatens the bonds of friendship that have deepened over the summer, Erin must choose. Will she return to her nomadic way of life? Or will she put down forever roots in Sugar Sand Beach?
Leigh Duncan is an Amazon best-selling author and a National Readers' Choice Award winner, the author of more than two dozen novels, novellas and short stories. However, the biggest thrill of her career--so far!--came when she saw her book, Journey Back to Christmas, featured on the Home and Family Show after Hallmark Publishing chose Journey to introduce its new line of romance novels. Her newest Hallmark Publishing release, A Simple Wedding, and her upcoming A Cottage Wedding (6/2/20) are the first of several books in Leigh's Heart's Landing series. These sweet, contemporary romances take place in a small town known as America's Top Wedding Destination, and each book centers on one couple who fall in love in Heart's Landing.
Another great story! I’m really enjoying this series of four women friends who go into partnership together to restore a beautiful home on the beach. Each woman uses her talents to make the Inn opening a success. Gradually, they’re all finding love after being hurt in the past. I highly recommend this series.
I squeal with anticipation each time I know I get to return to Sugar Sand Beach. The town, Inn, friendships and the townsfolk make each visit better than the last. Leigh Duncan has a way with words that you feel as if you know these characters. You relate to their stories, you want to be their friend. Erin, Reggie, Michelle and Nina. You love these ladies like you love your family. I have referred many friends to this series. It is a clean well written story that leaves you wanting more. This story is focused on Erin. World traveler Erin. Her Ex shows up and you will see what happens. You will get to see of course get to visit with others and see how they are doing with the Inn. It sounds amazing. You get to watch relationships progress and I am hoping we see more of that in the last book! (hint, Leigh).
I feel like we are just getting started with the stories that can be told from Sugar Sand! It is bitter sweet that there is only one more book. :( Leigh please write more!!
You will not be sorry! You must begin with book 1 and work your way through to get the fullness of their beautiful stories. These stories are encouraging and enlightening as you see the personal journey that these woman are taking together. It is pure magic.
Thank you LEIGH!

This is book four of the Sugar Sand Beach series and tells the story of life-long friends Michelle, Nina, Erin and her younger sister Reggie, who have grouped together to renovate and open the old home Michelle inherited, as an Inn and Café. Nina is in charge of the café opening and catering, Erin for the outdoor activities, Reggie looking after the grounds and growing a lot of what they will use in the café, whilst Michelle runs the inn itself. Each has something happening in their lives in this tale. Erin had been married young and thought her husband Ron was in tune with her wanderlust life, until his father died. They split soon after and she has spent the last twenty years travelling the world, to everywhere she fancies, but has now realised she is wanting some stability in her life and the chance to work at the Inn doing what she loves, is ideal. Michelle is hoping for a reunion with her twin college children, just over a year after their father died and they haven’t been told the whole truth of the circumstances her husband left her in. They aren’t happy she sold their family home and moved do far away, but don’t know what she has struggled with since her husband’s sudden death. Whether this reunion will be a healing time for them, is made more difficult by Michelle’s close friendship with the lawyer helping her with setting up her new partnership. Even Reggie and Nina have a touch of romance in their corners, as the opening day for the Inn and Café come ever closer. True friendships that have been tested through time and distance, but have come together ever stronger, for a common cause and a chance to work closely together on a new endeavour. Each has their issues or problems and have much to work through as the opening gets ever closer just as a storm is coming. A nice tale with some great characters, who all have lots to deal with but are stronger together. I would love to read the rest of this series and look forward to reading the next book in the series. I received an ARC copy of this book from BookSprout and I have freely given my own opinion of the book above.
The Reunion at Sugar Sand Inn is the 4th book in the Sugar Sand Beach series written by Leigh Duncan. I haven't read the previous books in the series and went into this book blindly without much idea about the previous story-line. Still, I managed to follow the story and got completely engrossed in it.
The whole series is about 4 women who are at cross-roads in their lives and had opted to base roots and create a life out of a small- town. They are planning to open an inn which will also boast some outdoor activities for their guests.
This book starts off from their plans for the grand opening of their inn and the various things they are all attending to, leading to that event. And also the book goes into the relationship each person forms with people around them. It was a pleasure to read the interactions between these women and how they go about living their lives in their own terms. The author has also given a very good idea about all the work that goes in while handling such a project and all the roadblocks that tend to rise during this. It was highly inspiring to know how these women tackle those blocks.
Overall, it was a very sweet, heart- warming book which deals on human emotions and relationships in a very mature manner. And it was a delight to read from start to finish. By the time I finished the book, I had started thinking of these women as real and I just couldn't be more happier for them when things go their way; I think nothing more needs to be said. It deserves a whole- hearted 5 stars from me just for the way I felt after I finished reading the book. If you are a lover of sweet, lovely, heart-warming books which are based on human relationships, then this book is right up your ally and you shouldn't miss it.

They are real close to officially opening the Inn. Reggie's garden is producing lots of vegetables. Erin has hired the good people she needs for the Cafe. After the fiasco with the Tobias' theft of her new recipes got straightened out with Walt's help. Erin helped Walt find a new chef she knew in Virginia with his family. Ron, Erin's ex-husband, shows up and wants to hire her for his new company and she says no. Their open house for the Cafe before they officially open is a huge success. They get news that there's a hurricane headed for them. Chris shows up to put the shutters on the, Zeke, and Ron join him. They make plans to leave the area for the duration. The girls talk about the D.C. area doesn't get hit by hurricanes they are wrong. They are too young but in 1972, hurricane Agnes hit that area, and it was horrible. There was a great deal of flooding. Four Mile Run flooded so badly a lot of people lost their cars to the water damage. There was a golf course on the D.C. side of the Potomac that flooded, my ex had gone there to play golf that day. They kept talking about how dangerous it was starting around 10 am. I followed the news announcements when he didn't show up for a while. Around 2 pm. he finally shows up he and his friend decided to continue to play ALL18 holes since they were already wet (idiot).
Loved this series. Florida This was Erin’s book, Ron has come to Sugar Sand and has asked Erin to come travel the world with him. She is feeling a lot for him and is actually thinking about it only because she still loves him. He gets a job at the preserve, she takes the twins there for a trial camp out. Ron scares them by coming through the bushes. She ends up taking the girls home. Ron breaks camp. They get a hurricane warning have to pack up. Ron stays to help, the rest go to a motel and hang for a few days get word all is well. They get back to the Inn and are relaxing. Then Ron says he sold he’s business and is staying in Sugar Sand and asks Erin to marry him. She says yes, how about a Christmas wedding. Michelle draws up the partnership for all. Dave and her have first date. They welcome the first guest a day early after the storm. Reggie is upset thinking her sister is going to run off with Ron. They move into the out shed. Nina works out all the new items for menu. She watches Zekes girls. Zeke and her are getting close.
A short read that brings some of the ongoing stories in the previous books to a sort of conclusion.
This is one of the books about four women, Nina, Michelle, Erin and Reggie who have started new lives with the Sugar Sand Inn and Cafe.
They have put all their money and talents together in order to start over. Each of them can contribute to the future success of the Inn.
The Inn is in a small town that prefers to stay a small town. So the people who live there welcome the Inn and the women who will own and run it. The Inn will not become part of a chain. It will remain a small boutique hotel.
All the women have overcome difficulties in their lives. But, now with new starts, they are beginning anew. And they are findng possibilities.
This is an easy and short read. It is the 4th story in the series and a reader really needs to read them in order to be able to enjoy all the books.
Ms Duncan has created an ideal place to live and it is populated by good hearted citizens who are willing to go the extra mile for their friends and neighbors.
Ms. Duncan continues to create heartwarming stories that resemble real life relationships, heartaches & families. In the Sugar Sand Inn series, we follow a group of friends that had scattered to experience life & have found their way back to each other. Can they reestablish the deep connection that has brought them back together or will they go their separate ways again? These close relationships are sometimes closer than actual family ties. Each reader can connect with the characters & imagine themselves as a part of the whole. Ms. Duncan’s characters draw you into the story & don’t release their hold on you. If I need a good story to lift we up & make me feel better about life & connections, I always turn to Ms. Duncan’s books.
A delight to visit with them again, the changes in their lives, a chance again at love. The opening of the Inn, looking for more help in the kitchen The fresh fruit, being around natures and friends. Erin when her ex Ron shows up suddenly, how would this affect them. There dream of adventure travel when first married, drastically changed when he decided to stay in Houston and run a fishing charter. Now he wants to go global with a team offering trips for the wealthy, and she has extensive travel of thirty years to inspire people. Would she except, her friends saying to take time. She made a commitment here, the lure to travel did she want now. A series that shows one can make a different path in their middle years. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion
There comes a time when you have to choose between turning the page or just closing the book
I am so thrilled another chapter in these 4 amazing ladies' lives has been written. I can't get enough of their stories. Erin gets a shock when her ex-husband Ron shows up on the doorstep of the Inn. It's been years since she has seen him or even communicated with him. He has an offer he feels she can't refuse. Her dream job since forever. She would be trekking around the world with Ron with a posh incentive. The clients are wealthy, so the trips would be very luxurious, no more roughing it like when they were younger.
Erin has to make a life changing decision. Does she take Ron's offer or stay at the Inn that she has grown to love.
This book was so much fun to read and to find out what was happening at Sugar Sand Inn. There was a lot going on. Some of it was good, some not so good, and some was a little bit scary as I thought their dream was over. I am so happy for all of the characters as their lives have changed but their strong friendships have remained. I really enjoyed the romance and surprises in their lives, especially Erin's. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the books and characters in this series and I am ready to stay at the Inn. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
So far, I've enjoyed the Sugar Sand Inn series moderately, and while this 4th book ties a beautiful little bow on the last of the 4 friends' romantic relationship, I thought there wasn't much happening in this one. To be fair, I didn't get Erin & Ron's relationship. Overall, these are truly cute books and I like the fact these four friends were totally committed to work together at making this new Inn a success, each bringing their own talents and skills set. Reading about the progress they made on the Inn was more or less satisfying. However, it needs to be said that the author has a tendency to stretch things out a little. Of course, I'll read the last one when it comes out. I made it this far, I'll finish the series.
I am really loving this series. Each segment is as good as the last one. This one was centered around Erin and her ex husband Ron, but all the the characters were involved through out the story. The Sugar Sand Inn is finally ready for business and it's soft opening for the town was overwhelming. There were couples that were getting closer, senior citizens starting over, and love happening again. Excellant read.

Who would have imagined that Regina’s ex-husband would show up unexpectedly and that I would like him! This book had so many twists and turns with new things happening and, of course, continuations of previous stories. Again, the recipes were mouth-watering and I not only have to visit Destin and the surrounding beaches, but I have to find the right restaurants, too. I hope they are findable, but I know I will be disappointed not to find the Inn and the diner and those sausages! And all of the people I have come to know and love. What a wonderful series this has turned out to be.
Loved this story, but I love all of Leigh’s books. I enjoy this series because it is about women who are a bit older and looking for a new start in life. I wish I still had friends that I had known since grammar school. These women have a plan that they do not think include men in their lives but are mildly surprised when they do find them but take things slow. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

Wonderful story with great characters. There are a few twists in the story. Always enjoy a story where friends get together and support and help each other out. Of course if you throw in the romantic interest of a handsome man that always causes some sort of issue with the main character. It's fun to watch how they work through their issues and they fight love but then end up realizing that that's what they want. Good read.

This fourth book brought us a little bit of closure with the opening of the Inn. It also allowed us to see all of the relationships progressing and possibly leading to a Christmas story? Hint, hint Leigh Duncan :). The major protagonist in the story, Ursula, really stirred up some emotions and blew through town in a hurry. You’ll have to read to see what damage she left in her wake.

Book four in the Sugar Sand Beach series was not a disappointment.
Even though this story is about Erin and her ex-husband Ron the other three amazing women are also included.
This book also about second chances to find love, the opening of the Cafe and Inn, first guests, plus you get to see how the relationships are progressing with the other three women - ** spoiler - there could be a first kiss for one of the ladies and a new relationship forming in the senior citizen group❤😉 **
I love how this author takes you on the personal journey with these strong women.
The men in this series have been able to keep up with these women but also, they have been able to bring out more of their strengths.
I cannot wait to read book 5 and to see what surprises this author has install for us.
This was a five star read for me.
I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this book for an honest review.
I am totally in love with this series, which I have been following from the beginning. Leigh has written this book so well that you are drawn in, and it feels like home. Erin has found her ideal place with close friends and a great locale. Her ex, Ron, shows up with a proposition of world travel with him on high end tours. Big decisions on her life and love are now in her hands. The characters were wonderful and so caring of each other. The storyline had drama and surprises with the arrival of the ex. Love the group of women and the locale and guests.

Make me a reservation at the Sugar Sand Inn please! The continuing stories of Michelle, Erin, Reggie, and Nina just get better and better and leave you wanting the next book now. Once again Leigh Duncan has pulled me right into the story and her storytelling and descriptions make me want to zip on down from GA to FL and settle in for a vacation on the Gulf Coast. For a great fun read pick up this series as quick as you can…you won’t regret it.
Once again, I enjoyed reading the next book in the Sugar Sand Beach series by Leigh Duncan. The Reunion at Sugar Sand Inn was primarily Erin's story and it came to a satisfying conclusion. The books have been written with a focus on relatable characters which is the main reason I have been enjoying these books. Looking forward to the next (and final) book in the series.
Great characters, most we already know, but a few are new friends.
The new situations are fun and exciting to read about. Relationships change, solidify in various ways. The air is cleared between some characters, finally.
And the opening of the inn adds another layer of fun and excitement.
Such and enjoyable and captivating series. The story line pulls you in and holds you in its grip. Once you start, you can't stop. It's well written, flows smoothly from page to page and stays with you long after you read the last word.

The Inn is getting ready to open. Most of the woman have found romance. Erin's ex husband shows up to convince who move back to Texas with him. She turns him down. The Inn opens their activity center. The senior men and women show up. A bad storm hits the area and the people all come together to help each other.
this is the 2nd book I read in the series (not in order). This series is the perfect summer/beach read. Good character development. There are storylines for each character which keeps the reader engaged. Set in a coastal town in Florida with plenty of town characters. Light and easy read. 4 friends get an old home on the coast and turn it into a bead and breakfast and cafe.
What a wonderful read! This series gets better with each book. This story has just enough drama and romance to keep you turning the pages. I can't wait for the next book! I love this series!

Learning about these wonderful charters is wonderful
The wonderful people I've learned about in this series. Is a great way to keep one interested in all the people in Sugar Sand Inn. This series is a keeper for sure. I hope you will love reading from this great writer.
Love coming back to Sugar Sand!! Feels like being back with old friends! Love how Leigh integrates a new character with the friends, and walking through their struggles and joys with them. Hated to have it end!!
