“Dispose of the body and find a new one. Project Thirteen begins immediately.” Paranoid despot Rashmir Fendel wants a weapon. Ethics are not a concern, even if that means experimenting on children. Imbued with a mysterious substance, Project Thirteen’s strength, agility and cunning are off the charts. Which also makes her dangerous. The Byzantium Order catches wind of these activities and move in to claim the experiment, but are their concerns purely altruistic? Kidnapped and on the brink of destruction, Project Thirteen escapes the Byzantium Order’s clutches and crash lands on planet Earth. What comes next is a tale of survival. Camouflage. Patience. Vulnerability. All things she must become accustomed to in her first few dangerous days of life. As Project Thirteen's pursuers close in on all sides, she must make a difficult hide, or become the monster they claim her to be? This is interplanetary adventure of the best kind.
I'll be honest - I almost deleted the book off my Kindle at 8%. I read another book, then went back to this to see where I left it. At 10%, the story picked up and I didn't put it down until I finished it just now. There was a lot going on, and not everything made sense, but that's how life works. I really enjoyed the evolution of the main character. I'm not sure if there will be more books based on the characters, but if there are, I am very interested to see what happens next. However, this book is a complete story - there are no cliffhangers. I received a free copy from Voracious Readers Only in exchange for a fair review.
An alien despot wanting complete control by experimenting on his own people to make the ultimate personally controlled weapon finds it all goes horribly wrong when his transport ship crashes to earth. Project Thirteen escapes and lives on Earth until finally she is captured in order to be used and manipulated again to further another's quest for power
This book is a living waking nightmare. Everybody dies except Project Thirteen and the bastard who was responsible for her creation, and that person is not who you think it is. I wish I had never read this shit.
