★★★★! The Token, part 1 of 6. Compelling heroine, Faren & mysterious hero, Jared McKenna’s worlds collide in present time, but they also have a past!

“But pain won't end me. After what I've been through, physical pain is just another obstacle. It's the mental that's killing me.”

There are 6 parts to The Token series. I recommend these novellas be read in order:
Part 1: The Token
Part 2: The Token 2
Part 3: The Token 3
Part 4: The Token 4
Part 5: The Token 5
Part 6: The Token 6

The Token is the first installment in a serial that will eventually have a HEA. It opens up with physical therapist, Faren Mitchell at the doctor’s office receiving the news that she has a brain tumor. She runs out into the street and is hit by a Harley Davidson driven by billionaire Jared “Mick” McKenna.

The story then jumps back to a month prior and follows two parallel story lines of present and past.

Faren has trauma in her past, what exactly will unfold with the story. Her hand is deformed which may have been the reason she became a physical therapist. Her mom is in a comatose state being cared for in a private clinic which has not only put Faren in debt but eats up all of her income. Her friend Kiki talks her into working extra as an exotic dancer to get caught up.

She starts of at a strip club owned by no other than the Jared McKenna. She soon switches to one of his more exclusive establishments. Though their paths cross once in these flashbacks he never saw her face.

In present time Jared courts Faren, pays her hospital bills from the accident, but then makes the mistake of thinking her chaste behavior is an act…

What happened to Faren’s mom? What trauma did Faren endure? Who is Jared “Mick” McKenna? And how will he react when he realizes she is an employee at one of his gentleman’s clubs? These are just some of many, many questions that will be explored and answered in The Token.

“The days of what's left stretch before me like a black ribbon of road sinking into an uncaring horizon.”

 photo ct2bysb_zps65eb1881.gif

FAREN MITCHELL: 22 years/physical therapist, part-time exotic dancer/caramel blond hair/light gray eyes/5’9”/ex-ballerina/virgin.

Faren Mitchell grabbed me. Maybe it was her brain tumor diagnosis and the fact the she has a slightly deformed hand, is skittish and a recluse. Or maybe it’s her innocence and she has secrets and trauma in her past. At any rate she pulled me in and I am rooting for her to be OK on all accounts.

Seven words to describe Faren: Lonely, reflective, loyal, broken, innocent, strong and naïve.

“Rehab’s not a well-paying profession. But there's more than money, sometimes the soul needs edification.”

 photo hero9bysb_zpsf4852faa.gif

JARED MCKENNA, “MICK”: ~30 years/Billionaire/Mogul/Owner of Gentleman’s clubs/$$$$/dark auburn hair/dark brown eyes/tattoo.

Jared “Mick” McKenna is still enigma. We know he is a billionaire and that he owns several gentlemen and strip clubs. When he is not riding his black Harely he’s driven around in a limo. The rest will unfold with the story.

Seven words to describe Jared: Enigmatic, mysterious, noble, caring, jaded, elusive and determined.

“He punishes me tenderly. Each kiss erases the hurt of his words. A man could never speak an apology as perfect as the one he makes with his mouth.”

In this first installment of The Token we have to contend with lots of sexual tension and off-the charts and build-up for more…. Needless to say this part ends with a major cliffy, but I knew that going in. Part 2, The Token 2 is already available. I am curious enough to continue on with part 2 as I would like to see them end up in bed together.

Compelling heroine! Mysterious and enigmatic hero! Eclectic story-telling and a suspenseful plot! I think this serial has potential!

“Hanging onto my virginity isn't such an accomplishment when innocence is taken in increments. Chunks of who I am are stolen right from underneath my nose.”

I am rating this one 4.5 stars, and the only reason for the loss of .5 of a point is that I would have preferred the story to be longer! I want to thank Marata Eros for gifting me a copy of this series book to read and review. My attention has been caught, and now I am hooked and will have to see this through to the end! I was very relieved to see that the second installment is already out, and then the third will come out in February.

We are introduced to a woman named Faren who has been given some life changing news from her doctor. As if that wasn't bad enough, her mother need very expensive medical care and the pressure to provide it is all on Faren's shoulders. My heart went out to her because all Faren wants is to make sure her mother will be cared for, and because she is desperate she makes a very hard choice. Going against her values and morals, she chooses a job as an exotic dancer. The money is just too good to turn down, so she grins and bears it as best as she can, and does what she needs to do.

Even though Faren's plate is already over flowing, she ends up almost being run down by a handsome motorcycle riding billionaire who immediately takes a liking to her. Figuring she has nothing left to lose, Faren decides to see where the attraction between herself and Jared end up. What she doesn't anticipate is his insistance that he knows everything about her. This is a complication she does not want or need. How is she to tell this hottie that she does lap dances for a living? If Jared does find out, will he still want her as much as he does at the moment?

This first installment of The Token is jammed packed with scenes that kept my attention glued to the page. My biggest complaint is that it ended way too soon; but I am glad to see that I can continue immediately onto the next installment. This is a novella series that will consist of several short stories. I feel it is most definitely worth the read. I have had the pleasure of reading Marata Eros work in the past, and have thoroughly enjoyed her writing. I find it to be full of description and anticipation. Ms. Eros has never failed to hold me captivated when I'm reading one of her stories. I can't wait to see what she has in store for Faren and Jared. There is lots more to be revealed, and I am anxious to see a relationship unfold between this couple.
The Token is an all out superb read and I highly recommend it.

The Token is the first book of what will be an extended series (8-12 books to come - one per month). The story starts off action packed as our heroine receives life altering news from her doctor.

Faren is a physical therapist who is struggling financially paying for her mother’s permanent hospital care, when her bff who is an exotic dancer proposes a way in which she can make more money.

The story is very fast paced, so much so that some scenes tended to end too quickly for my taste. Some of the writing was bit odd to me as well: "He licks my jaw. Mick hits the surface like breaking water and dots my mouth with another plump bead of heat and flesh."

Faren finds herself stage dancing until a way to make even more money is offered she then enters into the world of lap dancing.

Jared McKenna, the owner of the strip club she pole dances at appears to be her love interest. Jared’s physical description was very hard for me to come up with an image in my mind: deep auburn hair, creamy mocha skin, and eyes so dark they look black. Anyway, they go on a date and it seems that they are physically attracted to one another.

The story does ends with a cliffhanger as someone from Faren’s past appears. Going forward a reader will hope that Faren’s doctors are wrong and that she can provide for her mother and I’m guessing Jared will play a larger role in book 2.

When all hope is gone, what will you do to provide for the ones you love? The Token is a dark contemporary romance that left me shaken to the core. Faren Mitchell has gotten two words that tore her world apart. Now struggling to raise every dime she can find to make sure her mother is cared for, Faren must make choices that would devastate even the hardest of hearts. The only ray of hope in her bleak outlook is an accidental collision with the elusive billionaire Jared McKenna.

Although this story is novella-length, we are pummeled with a riveting plot and immersed in the emotional turmoil of the story.

Brilliantly dark and shockingly raw, The Token will rock your very foundation. Eros has proven time and time again her outstanding writing talents, but The Token is a step beyond other masterpieces in literary fiction. Emotionally invested, heart-wrenching circumstances, you can't help but walk away changed for experiencing this story. A favorite above other favorites, The Token will leave you breathless.

I seldom read an incomplete series, even more so an incomplete novella series. I just don't have the patience in dealing with suspense. I make an exception for The Token since Marata was so kind to offer an ARC.
Thank you.

Faren Mitchell fascinated me from the get go. She is a physical therapist who was struggling to make ends meet for supporting her mother's medical care. She became a part time exotic lap dancer for extra cash after being persuaded by her stripper friend, Kiki. There was a hint of mystery to Faren's past and we slowly got glimpse of it.

There was a sense of hopelessness in reading Faren's POV. I felt her loneliness and despair. As if her life was not dreadful enough, she just discovered her time might just run out.

I might be dying. I might have a dirty job that pays for the sins of my past. But right then, I know heaven, if just for a little bit, right here on earth.

After Faren was hit by Jared McKenna's Harley, the pacing of the novella started to pick up. Of course, we were dying to meet this Greek god, Adonis incarnate, panty-dropping money mogul who was also the strip club owner where Faren work. He sounded pretty much like any other oversexed billionaire playboy out there, nonetheless I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt and will see how his character play out in the subsequent book.

I really like the first half of the book, despite the slow pacing, I was engrossed with Faren and her work. I love Marata's writing style that at times make me think that I'm not merely reading an erotic book. What didn't really work for me was how fast Jared proposition her after meeting her.. I would have appreciate a longer getting-to-know routine with sexual tension.

Jared McKenna pulls away, pulverizing me with a stare for my ten heartbeats to his two and walks away.

I knew I will have to deal with a cliffhanger. Someone from Faren's past appeared right at the end and I don't know what he wants. I want my answer, but I'm feeling a little apprehensive for oncoming ending in Book 2. Anyway, one novella per month is not too bad, isn't it?

Gut-wrenching, gritty, dark and tragic are all words I'd use to describe The Token.
Faren is a physio-therapist, former abuse victim and terminally ill. On discovering she has a brain tumor, Faren tries to escape the doctors office and runs out onto the street where she is run over by a sex god on a Harley, who turns out to be millionaire Jarred "Mick" McKenna. On top of all this Faren also has to face the fact that she needs 50,000 dollars to ensure her vegetative mother's full time private care, when she's gone. Her friend Kiki suggests a career path, and as Faren feels she has nothing to lose, she begins pole dancing of a night to make the required cash quickly....But things go from bad to worse...

This is a tragic story that had me hanging on every last word. The characters are so real; their emotions are so raw and I'd hate to think that anyone could identify with this story, but I believe it would be relatable to some.
The compassion and empathy I feel for Faren and her predicament is so weighty. Only a master can wring that from an audience. With suspense and intrigue at every turn, I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the next twist of the knife to my heart!
On the brighter side, Mick is an absolute delight! His concern for Faren and his determination to get to know her created an electric chemistry between the pair that shows much promise!

Marata Eros keeps delivering the goods, and I'm going to keep putting my hand out for more! I highly recommend The Token.

In a world filled with books about dark romance, sexual fantasies and mysterious and powerfully hot and VERY alpha heroes who send shivers of desire down the body of the strong, yet tortured heroine, The Token by Marata Eros is like the shiny star at the top of the tree! Brilliant!

I honestly believe this may prove to be one of Ms. Eros’ BEST of the BEST, to date! She has created a strong heroine at one of the lowest points possible in her life, but didn’t let her wallow in self-pity. Nope, Faren is amazing, strong and deals with the lemons life keeps fast-pitching at her. Enter Jared McKenna, (even his name drips hotness), the filthy rich, powerful and larger-than-life Alpha Guy who is shrouded in just enough mystery to make me crave, oops, I mean make Faren crave more. Will she have the chance to make her fantasy come true or will her worst nightmare from her past come crashing down upon her?

Although a short read, it is long on plot, intrigue and swoon worthy heat from a cast of characters that feel real! Marata Eros has stamped her unique style on another amazing book! And yep, I’ve already read it twice!

I was fortunate to receive an ARC edition from my friend, Marata Eros in exchange for my honest review! I honestly wish she could write faster!

Wow. I'll start by saying Marata Eros never disappoints. The way in which she draws you in with such detail for each character has you turning pages quickly and then going back to read it again to make sure you haven't missed anything!

This story starts with depressing news for Faren Mitchell but takes on a new aspect quickly. Knowing what she faces, she throws all caution out the window and embarks on an unfamiliar journey. Her choices become less thought out and more necessity as each day passes. Into her life comes Jared McKenna (Mick). Rich and single, he captivates Faren, but she suppresses her desire for him in search of the quick dollar.

I was totally drawn in from the get go and couldn't put the book down. The author has a way of creating characters that you simply want to devour with each page. Needless to say, when I reached the end of this book I was like "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!". I couldn't believe it ended and automatically went to search out the next in the series. Thank goodness it was already published and I can once again get my fix with the continuing story! Whew!

Marata Eros is one damn fine writer and her stories captivate me. Her attention to detail has you feeling every moment and this story is no exception!

Faren Mitchell receives terrible news that sets off a chain of events that change her life irrevocably. Caught in an emotional sandstorm she is literally hit by stunning Jared "Mick" McKenna. Something unspoken passes between the two and Faren feels herself falling further down the rabbit hole. Mick is immediately entranced by Faren's gravitational pull yet Faren keeps him at a safe distance. I felt Mick was a good guy and I enjoyed reading his and Faren's blossoming relationship- but he's definitely hiding something.

The Token 1 does an excellent job setting up the world Faren lives in. We learn a lot about her character, life, and struggles. I instantly adored Faren for her innocent yet worldly persona, unmistakable devotion to others, and her feisty go-getter attitude. Faren works two dead-end jobs in order to maintain a suitable living condition for her comatose mother. As expenses rise and time is running out Faren turns to desperate measures to secure her mother's care- including becoming an exotic dancer.

I would call this book short and sweet but sweet is NOT the right word to describe The Token. Dark, seductive, emotional and powerful are all such better terms.

Marata (/Tamara) always imbues the perfect amount of darkness into her novels. The Token is deliciously dark whilst also being something that all adult readers will enjoy.

With two small, quick words, Eros immediately hooks her readers at the beginning of this novella, causing a series of successive thoughts to rampage through our heads as the story takes off. It’s impossible not to be intrigued—even though we don’t know Faren Mitchell at all, we understand the words, we understand their all encompassing meaning, and we understand the pain, fear, and heartache that stands behind them. We know, and Faren knows, and so we are quickly united from the very first page. It is a great beginning.

Faren is a strong character. She is a fairly broken person, in more ways than one, but her heart is in the right place, and though I don’t necessarily agree with her final choice for work, I understand how she feels and why she chooses to do what she does. Told from her point of view, we learn her thoughts, regrets, desires, and wishes for the future, especially where her mother is involved, and as this story unfolds, we also learn the harsh reality that engulfs Faren’s past, putting us eye to eye with her on an even deeper level.

As a novella, events within move rapidly, and while chapters do tend to jump from scene to scene, it keeps readers guessing. I actually really enjoyed that Faren would suddenly be somewhere else after a chapter break, with Eros using Faren’s thoughts and actions to explain the time lapse and what happened in between. While initially jarring for me the first time it happened, I realized what Eros was doing failry quickly and it works very well for this type of story, especially as so much happens to Faren throughout.

Now, this novella does deal with strip clubs, but it is relatively clean--at least, not explicitly graphic, for which I am thankful. Eros toes the line very gracefully, and as we learn Faren’s true reasons for taking on this line of work, we begin to understand exactly why she chooses to do what she does. That, and the two little words at the very beginning of the story…

Of course, Eros leaves readers hanging in the worst possible way, which is exactly her style, as it were, and I wouldn’t expect anything less, though I am indeed dying to know what's going to happen next for Faren as her situation is quite dire, to say the least. Thankfully, The Token is the first of a novella series with monthly release dates—novella number two is already 71% complete with a pending release in mid January, and the third in the series is slated for release on February 1. Good reads are ahead. I can feel it.

REVIEW OF AUDIOBOOK

STORY: 4 stars
PERFORMANCE: 1 star
OVERALL: 3 stars

STORY
THE TOKEN is a story of a woman who while down on her luck will go to great lengths to earn some much needed money. With strip clubs as well as other clubs where women will do more than strip for the right price, this story had a lot of potential. Initially, I was frustrated at the inconsistencies I popped out among the pages. First, the female main character Faren is extremely close to her BFF Kiki yet she, "...can't tell Kiki everything. She knows enough already"??? Worse was when Faren refused to speak to the male mc after he zooms that she has more sexual experience than she actually has. Faren had just been making out with him and she works in his strip club so I thought it was unrealistic for her to become as incensed as she did thinking, "I can't bear any more of his assumptions.” Despite this, I couldn't help but become engrossed in the story. I unexpectedly found myself sucked into the romance; I could FEEL the sexual tension between the mc's and was eager to find out how their story would play out. When I reached the major curveball at the end, I was sold! With such a twisted, cliffhanger ending, I immediately began reading the next book!

PERFORMANCE
Before I even heard the first sentence, I became concerned that I would have an issue with narrator Lacy Laurel's performance. While Ms. Laurel read the title and the author's name, she sounded waaaaaaay too excited, speaking with much more emotion than is necessary to state the title of a book. Unfortunately, Ms Laurel's overeagerness never waned even while she read parts of the book that should have been read with a morose or solemn tone of voice. In fact, the only time I noticed Ms. Laura adjust her tone of voice was when she read sex scenes, suddenly narrating in a whisper. Most abhorrent though was her attempts to read dialogue for the male characters in the book. Not every female narrator can pull off a good male voice yet the voice Ms. Laurel used wasn't just a poor attempt but IMO was absolutely ridiculous! Most of the time, the dialogue of the male characters didn't even sound human! Ms. Laurel is either very new to narrating or she has no acting skills, obviously reading instead of providing us with a performance. I am sad to say that eventually I couldn't bear to listen to her recording anymore. Even though I was given books #1-3 for free in exchange for my unbiased review (provided via Audiobook Boom), I couldn't stand listening to the entire first book. Due to Ms. Laurel's poor performance, at 75% into book #1 I stopped listening and switched to the e-book instead.

I admit I had no idea what “Dark Romance” was supposed to be. I should have figured it out from the blurb. The cover was to blame for my buying this. Amazon sent this as a suggestion email (damn them) and I hung on to it, debating if I wanted to pay the 99cents to get sucked into a serial. As you can see, I did.

So, yes, Faren does get really bad news. And she does get hit by a motorcycle (when she’s running away from her doctor after hearing bad news). But there’s really no sexual spiral. At least not in this book. All they do is have dinner together. Because she’s a virgin. Yes, a twenty-two year old physical therapist virgin working at a strip club.

There’s absolutely no resolution in ANYTHING. None. We’re left with more questions than we started with.

And at the 65% mark begins a preview for a totally different story. How’s that for getting my 99cents worth?

Yeah, no. I’m not paying anything more for this. I give it a 2* because the writing is technically fine. It’s the story’s plot(s) I can’t handle. But the fact that I didn’t understand what Dark Romance is wasn’t the author’s fault. This novella just has way, way too much drama in one book. I could see having one or two of these bad elements, but all of them? That’s just overkill. And not the escapism I crave in my romances.

Grab this one if you are a masochistic glutton for punishment.

My Rant:

The Token is erotically dark and captivating. The storyline kept me at the edge of my seat and an emotional mess. Faren is broken, believe it or not that is how I like to see my damsels in distress but she is also so much more than being weak. Inside her demeanor there lies a warrior willing to fight although she faces the reality as a losing battle. There are so many obstacles for her to overcome that she begins to tackle them all at once. This new found bravery comes from her interaction with Jared. What I like about his character is that he is not perfect although you want him to be that way. Marata takes a realistic approach to this story because although Jared has everything he could ever want he doesn't have what his heart desires and thats when the story becomes really intense. You can feel the push and pull between Faren and Jared. The tug of war of love, affection, infatuation and lust begins to take a tole you because you want the romance to be easy but its not and I love that factor of the story. I like that the author enjoys toying with your emotions. The story line is addictive and when the villain steps on the scene your hearts pounding with anticipation and the cliff hanger leaves you reeling in a bundle of nerves.

My Recommendation:

Overall I really enjoyed this story and would look forward to reading the next installment, The Token #2. I rated this book 5 out of 5 purple Rant Hearts and would recommend this story to anyone one that loves their romances dark, suspenseful and full of anguish.

FTC Disclosure: I received this book for free from the author, editor, publisher, or Promo Host. This is my honest opinion about this book and I did not receive any monetary compensation for writing this review nor was I obligated to write a positive one.

As I'm a big Fan of Marata Eros' Breeders series' I decided to give some of her other work a go. I've started with The Token 01 and whooeee I was riveted I'm going to be honest and say it did take a short while for me to get engrossed in the story but once it caught me it held on and squeezed every ounce of attention from me until it spat me out and left me wanting more.

Marata Eros can really write a sexy scene filled with tension and heat!!! ZOMG!!!!
Note:- (there is no sex in this instalment but there is some major kissing which is of the top HOT)

Faren is fierce but vulnerable and has so much on her shoulders. Her work as an exotic dancer is a surprise as a Physical Therapist by day her money needs are just too vast to not have to make more by shaking her ass for it. Her medical problems are serious and how this will turn out will hopefully be revealed in future instalments.

Jared “Mick” McKenna what a Hottie he exudes maleness all that cockiness and suave moves and he's rich (which doesn't hurt does it) and rides a motorcycle hello hottness.

I like that there are so many twists and turns that make your head go into a tailspin of directions only to be thrown into a different direction entirely.

I loved the past and present scenes How they meet, how they've met before.

All up an excellent start to the series and I really look forward to reading more on Faren and Mick.

First off, let me start by saying I L-O-V-E-D Token! Thank you Marata for gifting me with this AWESOME book in exchange for an honest review! The entire book flowed beautifully together, and I totally got engrossed in the characters. Jared 'Mick' McKenna is hot and I mean SIZZLING! He is sexy, confident and had Faren set in his sights, he's a man who knows what he wants and seems very sure that he is going to get it. I can't wait to see where the second book takes those two. I pretty much read this book in one sitting, because I didn't want to put it down, I wanted to keep seeing what happened next. Kiki, Faren's BFF is absolutely hilarious, and you can tell her, and Faren have a very close 'sisterly' connection, I loved that she was crude and honest. I also loved that Marata made Faren relatable, she's not this prim and proper, perfect girl you see in most books, she is flawed and has physical set backs, and despite those set backs she is determined to make money and take care of her mom, who was beaten by Faren's stepdad and left in a coma. The endind was def a shocker, I think my mouth was literally agape at that point! I cannot wait to read the second installment! Def a 5 star read in my opinion, great job Marata another awesome read!

I received this book as a gift from the author for an unbiased review.

This is intense and unbelievably wicked story of a girl who is holding on by a thread. Her name is Faren and she is lost and under so much burden that she has to go through immoral means to get what she needs. Jared is a rich playboy who gets what he wants when he wants it. He has his eyes set on Faren but she has nothing to lose so she fights her attraction. Why? That's easy because she wants to be in control and she wants it under her terms.

I like her even though she is naive she still has strength. She is losing herself in what she is doing and she doesn't believe she has the strength to endure. This is her journey and I absolutely love it!!!

Overall I am in love with the characters they compliment the story. This is like one big puzzle and I like how it is shaping up and I cannot wait to see what other pieces the author has up her sleeve for us to read.

I received this book as a gift from the author for an honest review. Will keep it short.

To me this story started out rather intense. Being told those "two words" right off the bat definitely grabbed my attention and I was hooked. I love stories that have truth in them, things that can actually happen in life and this book, to me hit that mark. This is a story of a girl who is barely holding on. She has gone through so much at her young age to only have more bad news dumped on her. He is a rich man, who always gets what he wants and isn't used to the word no.. He wants her and she wants him but somewhat fights it. She is an emotional mess, kind of naive, but at the same time she is strong. I love the contrast. I cant wait to continue the series.

I rated it a four star because i wish the book was longer. I also wish there was more background to the characters

The first 3 volumes are free on Amazon, so I felt I had nothing to lose on this one. It's billed as a six part novella series, but I see more than that listed under the author-perhaps spinoffs?

Anyway, book 1 introduces our young 22 y/o virgin heroine as a physical therapist looking for a way to make lots of extra money to help pay for her vegetative state mother's care and hospitalization. She's just learned she has months to live thanks to a brain tumor. This chic has all the luck, because immediately following her horrid diagnosis she is ran over by a guy riding a motorcycle. Said guy turns out to be our hero in the form of wealthy strip club owner, Jared McKenna.

This novella wasn't without issues, but I loved the heroine and am intrigued by our Mr. McKenna. I'm wondering how this all could possibly shake out...moving on to book 2.

The Token is about Faren and her journey with dealing with a dark past and a opaque future.
Faren is a physical therapist who is barely making enough money to take care of a mother she feels guilty for the cards she's been dealt. She is a character who's experienced a lot in her life but is naive in other aspects of it. I was intrigued from the prologue and I couldn't put it down.I like how she didn't whine about her situation. I'm also intrigue by Jared McKenna and how he's relationship with Faren will play out.
This story does leave you with a cliffhanger and its a whopper of one that I can't wait to get Token 2.

Marata has done it again. What an great start to this series.

Marata's writing just draws you in and grabs hold. You just can't put down. Faren is a great character with such a tragic past and potentially tragic future. You can't help but want to reach out to her and help her in someway. Of course just as fate and time are against her the handsome Jared walks into her life giving her a taste of things she's never had. Truly an intriguing story. My only regret is that I have to wait till payday to purchase the rest of the novellas lol.

I have read most of Marata Eros's work and works under her real nam Tamara Rose-Blodgett, and I must say this is another fab story that has it all; intrigue, excitement, the rich dark handsome guy who is sex on a stick, the woman with a past that makes you love her and protect her instantly, twists and turns, the nasty evil guy ( this has more than one!) and of course the promise and build up to sex you know is going to blow everyone's brains out!

Loved it and cannot wait for the second instalment of the series!! A must read!!!!

I received this book as a gift from the author for an honest review.

This story is fast paced and keeping you on the edge of your seat. The twists and turns in this story are amazing. I didn't see the last chapter coming. This book grabs you from the start and leaves you wanting more. This story shows the dark side of Fern's life and what happens when she has no more choices and her fight to continue. This story is steamy and hot, can not wait to read the next book. In the Token everyone has a dark side with a secret.

The storyline kept me at the edge of my seat and an emotional mess. I like the heroine even though she is naive she still has strength. She is losing herself in what she is doing and she doesn't complain about it and she has the strength to endure what she doing. Overall I really enjoyed this story and would look forward to reading the next installment.

What an amazing start .

This serie has to be out soon enough because it's very promising , The plot is awesome and Faren has a lot of baggage with her , obviously the male protagonist is hot cocky and a billionaire .

The ending of this novella was a cliffhanger , and man what a cliffhanger ; so very excited to check the next novella and hopefully it'll be as good as this one was .
