Houghton Gillmore "Junior" is a small town single dad, who works on the local shrimp boat with his father. When his ex-wife took off ten years ago, he devoted himself to his son and swore he'd never let anyone in who could hurt them again. When Lottie King moves home after college, all bets are off as Junior realizes that the sweet girl next door has become the love of his life. Can he risk his heart, and his son's happiness, again? Can Lottie handle the baggage that a single dad carries? Can the three of them start a life together, without jeopardizing the everyone they know and love? Wellington Shores brings everyone home, and reminds readers that home might just be where your heart has always been.
Annalee is a... ... wife, mom, enneagram four, and generally loud-mouthed extrovert. She was raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and attended Virginia Tech before planting her roots in North Carolina. She and her husband, Marshall, have three beautiful kids, two crazy dogs, four ducks, and a wild story.
In her debut novel, In The Moonlight, Annalee brought readers home to Wrightsville Beach, telling a tale that made everyone fall in love with the setting, as much as the characters. Only, she fell more in love with the town in the process, and every book since has been based in one of the local islands.
When she’s not writing or running Dune Press & Co., you might find her chasing kids around the house, driving her husband crazy, or looking for more animals to bring home. In all scenarios, she’ll have an iced latte in hand, and something to say.
3.5* I loved that this is based in wilmington/topsail beach so super close to home. It’s cozy & cute but it wasn’t a very interesting story but if you’re looking for an easy beach read this is it!
