Beachfront Promises: Solomons Island Book 2 is by Michele Gilcrest. Why does everything have to be so hard? Clara thought life should be easier to figure out; but she was always interested in what was going on with her friends.
Clara, in spite of her inheritance from Joan Russell, kept her job at Lighthouse Tours. She liked the work and the people she worked with as well as the customers she helped. It was also close to the diner where she could visit her best friend, McKensie (Mack). She could also see the man she was dating, Mike, every day as he was her boss. That is why she kept their dating secret.
When she went to the diner to pick up breakfast for the office, she noticed a man sitting at a booth. He looked familiar; but also, creepy. Mack also had the same feeling of creepiness. Ignoring him, they caught up on all the news. Clara was still dating Mike; but keeping it lowkey until he opened his new office on the northern end of the island. Miss Mae and Jonathan were seeing each other; but Ms Mae was withdrawing from hi. What was going on? Who was this creepy man and what did he want?

Cora left New York 10 years ago after her parents were killed in an accident and her relationship with her sister was strAined. She took a job as a housekeeper for Joan Russell on Solomon's Island and never looked back. When Joan died, she left her beachfront mansion and quite a bit of money to Cora. However, Cora continues to work at Lighthouse Tours and drive her old Honda. Her and Mike have grown quite close. Then her worst nightmare shows up. The extremely abusive husband she left 10 years ago and told no one about has found out about her inheritance and is demanding she give him 25 percent.

I am a volunteer ARC for this book and received the book for free for an honest review. I loved this book as a continuation from the first book. It could truly be a stand alone but leaves you hanging as to where things will go for Mike and Clara. I loved the setting. There was enough suspense to keep you wanting to read and see where the book would go. There was angst in relationships that we all have been a part of. I loved the characters. I can’t wait to read the next book!

This was another great story about Clara and her inheritance. She discovered her husband hanging around the restaurant that Mac worked at. Keith came to find Clara after he heard she had come into some money. He had not seen her in ten years, just wanting some money. Enjoy .

Another great read by this author!!
I enjoyed book 2 of this series even more than the first, and I can't wait to dive into book 3. Although there are several characters with a lot going on, the author completely draws you into the ongoings of Solomon's Island and makes you feel like you're a part of the scene. This was a great read and I loved reading it.

Excellent story and promises kept! Lots of ups and downs but the characters lived up to the expectations of the title! Each character played a role in making the story believable and fitting! Highly recommend reading!

Lots of ups and downs of the characters but at the end they were happy. I enjoyed reading and couldn't put down the book.
