Beyond the Envelope: Mr. Star's Story

Rate this book
Beyond the Envelope is a series of short stories that focus on various characters and their lives within the Circle. These stories will be released as they are created.

From The Circle:

“Ma'am do you need some help?”

“Son? Terry?” The voice was raspy from disuse.

“No ma'am I'm not your son. I'm not Terry, I'm, uh, one of his friends.” Doug recalled how the woman had mistaken Eric for Terry, too.

“My son's coming to pick me up soon.”

She might be crazy but she was semi-coherent. “Terry can't come right now ma’am”

Her eyes filled with tears.

I just finished The Circle, so I was thrilled to find out there was a supplemental short story (and available on Kindle Unlimited 🎉)

This is the story of Terry, AKA Mr. Star, the son of the homeless lady in the subway. I loved this little side story. Albeit short at only 30 pages, it was perfectly sized (hard to do in my opinion, usually short stories leave me wanting more) and the writing was stellar. It is obvious that Stephen Galgon is a talented and creative writer and I'm grateful I found him! I can't wait to read more.

Note to readers, you really need to read The Circle to fully appreciate this story. So go do that and then come back to this one. Seriously, do it now! 😂

Another masterpiece by author Stephen J Galgon as he allows us further insight into the crazy world of The Circle. While it may only be a short story, I was captivated entirely and found myself totally in awe of the writing style. As an accompaniment of The Circle, it serves a great purpose in allowing us to see life outside of the organisation and just how quickly it can go wrong.
I cannot wait to read more of Beyond The Envelope stories and I am anticipating The Circle's sequel to be yet another 5 star read.

Behind the Assassin

Reading this short story makes the character move from assassin to person. You learn the struggles behind the character and get a peek into his thoughts and feelings. You have no choice but to root for and cry with this character.
