As regards books such as these, I try to enter into the content with an open mindset to see if I can learn some new worthwhile practices & abilities – while I do not accept everything written literally, I do not feel pressured to disbelieve either. I have run into some people with abilities one would find in only a small proportion of the population.
‘The Ultimate Guide’ is a bit of a misnomer for this book, as what it provides is an introduction to various terms and practices associated with psychic ability. The content covers – some background & concepts, various kinds of psychic abilities (based on which senses provide you inputs), elementary practices you can initiate and tools psychics most often use. I found the different kinds of psychic abilities to make for interested reading. I generally dislike such books incorporating pseudo-science, this book does have some of it (making needless associations with quantum theory for instance), but thankfully very minimal. The book is peppered with nice & soulful sketches.
This book might make you just a little more curious about the topic, but not too much, and certainly not deliver any psychic abilities in the near term. Some of the suggestions & practices (including meditation, visualization etc) are good starts nevertheless as over time our brains act as experienced & fine-tuned censors – trying to judge, filter & edit what the senses attempt to tell us.

A topic that really fascinates me, so was excited to learn more and hopefully see if my own abilities could be pushed.
Just like her other books, Karen Frazier's writing is just so easy to digest. Also, the layout and illustrations were just beautiful too.
I learnt a lot from this book, and will be one I return to when I am in need of increasing my vibrations!

Loved it! Very easy to read and very interesting and informative. I really enjoyed the author’s life stories, and felt like I could relate. It’s a great guide to all things psychic. However, I felt like it covered a variety on the subject but never really goes into great detail. That’s why I think it’s a good starter book for anyone interested in the psychic world.

In recent months I have been interested in learning more about psychic abilities and improving intuition as I believe I suppressed these abilities as a child and I was interested in developing them again so when I came across The Ultimate Guide to Psychic Abilities I couldn't wait to start reading it.
The book is split into two sections, Understanding Psychic Ability and Developing and Managing Psychic Ability. After starting the book with some fascinating stories from the author I was looking forward to getting into the book and the first section was great to expand your knowledge on the topic. I had some knowledge about intuition and psychic abilities from videos I've watched so I was pleasantly surprised to find this book had lots of information I'd never heard of as well including the many types of clairs of which I only thought there were 4 but this book contains 8!
The second section of the book I found very helpful and has some good sections in it even if you weren't looking to improve intuition and psychic abilities. I've not looked into much on psychic protection so I found this chapter useful and it makes it seem a lot easier and doable than it sounds and I found learning about psychic tools and divination very interesting. There's not much detail in this section as the book has so much to get through but the brief overview of each tool is perfect to get a general idea and so you can look into things and research more out of the book.
Learning about psychic exercises and games is a nice section and not something I've seen mentioned much before. I do find that a lot of the exercises and games do require another person though, something I don't have or at least not someone that would be willing to participate and wouldn't think I was mad for suggesting trying it!
I think the last few sections on coping strategies for empathy and psychic children are very good and provide some information that is different from what I've seen or heard before. As for the children, I don't find there's much out there on this topic at all. Considering a lot of children suppress these abilities or are programmed to think it's not normal you'd think there'd be more on the topic so it's nice to read a chapter on it in this book.
This is a fantastic book to learn about intuition and psychic abilities and would be great for beginners or for those who want to learn more about the topic. This is a 3.5 stars for me, rounded down to 3. I’m not sure why but I just didn’t completely vibe with it. Maybe I was feeling a subtle conflict between the text-book size and text-book-like style of the small font and formatting, with the playful teen-like watercolour imagery. It felt confusing to me. I felt like I was too old to read this (I’m in late thirties). I couldn’t relate to the author at all either from her personal anecdotes and I’m also not completely sure why, but she says in the book that not all psychics and clients are a fit, and that’s ok. So no hard feelings. I had to keep putting this down and picking it up, it took longer to read than I expected. I guess I was maybe also a lil disappointed that I couldn’t do some of the exercises / games because they often needed 2 people. However, one thing I really loved about the book is that she tells it like it is when it comes to ouija boards. I’ve noticed most other psychic books (and churches) are ridiculously scared about them - those people have become way too influenced by The Exorcist as she mentions. Thank you Karen for bringing common sense back to this topic! They aren’t inherently bad, just make sure you know what you’re doing first!

This is quite an interesting guide to all things psychic. However, I felt like it was covered such a broad variety on the subject that the book never really goes into great detail.
A good starter for anyone interested in the psychic world.

Loved it! Very easy to read and very interesting and informative. Only complaint is that the author talked a lot about herself, but hey I probably would too if i wrote a book 🤷🏼♀️
