The women of Diamond Lake continue their adventures in the latest in the series, Delivering Generations.
The newest officer to join the Diamond Lake police force, Jackie Dupuis is a little eccentric. She finds deciphering people exhausting, which leaves her lonely in this small town. She isn’t quite ready to say that she made a mistake taking this job, but she’s close. If not for the success of her paranormal hobby in this extremely haunted place, she might have already left.
When Angie Stolmeijer arrived, she assumed she wouldn’t be in town for more than a few months. A budding musician and a cosmetologist, she works at the hair salon of Winnie, her Aunt Nancy’s partner. As her aunts try to help her find direction, they watch with knowing eyes as Angie develops an interest in a certain new cop. Even with their support, though, there are some journeys in life that you must walk alone.
Amy Gilbert and Molly Gorman enthusiastically prepare for their baby. Amy’s footloose lifestyle is challenged while attending to a stubborn, usually self-sufficient, and now pregnant partner. To her shock and pleasure, her parents embrace the upcoming grandbaby.
Molly has her eye on the future, yet her family history haunts her. Her parents are opposed to her having a child. Molly’s paternal grandfather was her hero, upholding the law. Small-town gossip has her wondering if it’s true that shady characters are sprinkled on her family tree. When a body is found, the rumors gain traction.

More of the Wonderful Women of Diamond Lake New Officer Jackie is one of those strong, silent types. She’s tall, dark and handsome too. Her favourite hobby is searching for ghosts and Diamond Lake is a great place for that. She tends to keep to herself as she’s not great at interpersonal relationships but it makes for a lonely life. Angie is also new in town. She has been sent to live with her Aunts Nancy and Winnie. She works at the Salon with Winnie and plays music in her down time. She’s young and struggling but when she meets Jackie, she finds herself interested in the stoic woman, much to Nancy’s dismay and displeasure. Jackie is not quite so sure about Angie but it’s not too long before she finds herself thinking about the younger woman more and more.
Meanwhile, Molly and Amy discover they are expecting a baby. Things are changing for the couple, there are so many new challenges not the least is their relationship with their parents. Amy’s parents grow even closer to the pair but Molly’s mother is FAR less than pleased at her deviant daughter’s decision to become a mother herself. As Molly is forced to ride a desk, she stumbles across a cold case and then a dead body that has her on the search for answers and questioning all she thought she knew about her grandfather’s time as Sherriff. Add in drama from Robin and Michelle and things are busier and more complicated than ever for the women of Diamond Lake!
WOW! This book has SO much going on but it’s really well written so nothing gets confused or muddled. As with the other books in the series, it sucks you in, grabbing your attention and keeping you wanting to know what happens next. You won’t be able to read fast enough but will be so sorry to see it end. It’s super easy to care about these characters, you will love them, worry about them, shake your head at them at times, and celebrate with them. Sometimes it will be hard to remember they are just characters on a page. I adored almost everything about this book with the exception of the Baby’s name but that’s just me and the only thing I could think of that would have made it better is if Amy and Molly had gotten legal papers drawn up for Power of Attorney and making Amy legal guardian of the baby if something were to happen to Molly but Im weird like that (I own it, it is what it is lol). Anyway, I thought this was an excellent book and a wonderful fit to the series!
Love this series and the characters. Funny dialogue, excellent descriptions and this one had a bit of a mystery to solve. Highly recommend the entire series.
I loved this series. I was in my early 20’s during the time period of this book (yes I am old) and it was a different time for for Lesbians back then. People were not as accepting then. Ignoring that it was a great time in my life, great times and crazy stuff going on all the time. However, it was a fun time in my life and the songs mentioned as well as softball with romance and mystery thrown in it is a great story. Robin and Amy are still up to their crazy antics so there are lot of thing to make you smile or laugh out load here too.
I would highly recommend this series and can’t wait for the next book.
I really enjoyed this series. The characters are very interesting ,fun, and likable. I really would like a book four to keep up with the characters. Thanks for a really good series.
I liked the characters and the story but felt cheated at no resolution. I hope there’s a sequel. I also wanted more about the reduction of the cold cases.
