In the fourth installment of the exciting Dragon Kingdom of Wrenly graphic novel series, Ruskin and his dragon friends discover there’s more than just ghosts to worry about on Ghost Island!
After surviving a curse, a few wicked spells, and an angry smoke dragon, Ruskin, Cinder, Groth, and Roke decide it’s time for some fun. The dragon friends set out on a camping trip to Ghost Island, located in a remote corner of Wrenly, to see the “statues” of the woodland creatures that have temporarily been turned to stone by the resident basilisk babies.
Groth assures the others that there are no ghosts on Ghost Island…it’s just called that because it’s so deserted. And the basilisks sleep during the day and hunt at night, so as long as they are cautious and quiet, they should have nothing to worry about. But when the dragons arrive, they quickly discover there’s much more to Ghost Island than some creepy statues. In fact, the basilisks are not even the scariest thing there!
Keeping up in my promise to read these all before the end of the year. This one has a bit more character development than the others, and is equally packed with action and lore.
Hey cool book lovers! I just read the most amazing book called "Ghost Island," and it's all about dragons, adventures, and a touch of spookiness. You're gonna want to hear about this!
So, there's this awesome place called Wrenly, and in the Dragon Kingdom, there's a dragon named Ruskin. He's like the leader of a dragon gang – Cinder, Groth, and Roke. After surviving some crazy stuff like a curse and wicked spells, they decide it's time for a super fun camping trip. But not just any camping trip – they're heading to Ghost Island! How cool does that sound?
Now, Groth, the wise dragon, tells everyone that there are no ghosts on Ghost Island. It's just called that because it's kinda deserted. They're there to check out these "statues" of woodland creatures that got turned into stone by baby basilisks. Sounds like a real adventure, right?
But hold on to your dragon scales because when they reach Ghost Island, they realize there's more than just creepy statues there. The basilisks are not even the scariest thing! Can you believe it? It's like a dragon mystery that needs solving.
The pictures in the book are so cool! They show all the dragons and the spooky island and everything. It's like watching a dragon movie, but in a book. And guess what? It's a graphic novel, so you get to see all the action and excitement!
If you're into dragons, mysteries, and a bit of spookiness, "Ghost Island" is the book for you. It's like going on a dragon camping trip and discovering secrets along with Ruskin and his friends. Get ready for a dragon-tastic adventure! 🐉📖🌟
In Ghost Island, which is the fourth book in the Dragons of Wrenly series, Ruskin and his dragon friends venture to Ghost Island for a camping trip, expecting a peaceful escape. They soon discover the island is more than just a place of eerie "statues" (creatures temporarily turned to stone by basilisks). The dragons encounter a far greater threat than the basilisk babies and must face yet another terrifying adventure.
Ruskin, Cinder and Groth decide to go camping together overnight. Groth is desperate to see the wild animals that the mother basilisk and her three babies have turned to stone. We know how much Groth loves stone, and the idea of seeings animals turned to stone fills him with excitement. So the three friends decide to go together to camp overnight in the statues. Off they go and of course from the beginning, nothing goes as they planned! They have an uninvited guest secretly join them with a list of pranks planned, and then of course one of those pranks goes haywire and the basilisk mother is awoken and the chase begins! The scared dragons decide to hide in a nearby abandoned palace and they soon discover that it is haunted. Will what they have to face inside the palace be worse than what they went in there to escape from? Classic out of the frying pan into the fire situation here. Of course more adventures ensue and there is an exciting time in the palace and then a lovely heartwarming ending. This was a great addition to the Dragons of Wrenly graphic novel series.
Once in a while, I remember I've missed a number of new books from this series, and I'm worried I'll have forgotten what happened (since most young reader books I get immediately go to a free library to find new fans, haha)—but I needn't have worried, at least with this volume! It's almost a complete standalone story such that I'm sure any complete newcomer could read it and enjoy it 100%! About the only "important" missing detail is that Ruskin is a supposed "Chosen One" by virtue of being a red dragon, but that's not TOO important.
The basic story is Groth invites Ruskin and Cinder to go camping, but Roke tags along with the intent to prank them. They discover their campsite is haunted (besides being filled with animals petrified by basilisks), and the ghosts have different plans in mind for the dragons from what they expect.
Without spoiling too much, I found the story fun and wholesome, particularly since everything is resolved happily! (Okay, maybe I might wonder about Groth keeping that , but that's another book.) The art is vibrant and gorgeous, and I recommend this for all dragon fans!
Ruskin and his friends go searching for Ghost Island. Despite the island’s name, they’re not really expecting to find any ghosts, so they’re quite surprised when they run into a pair of dragon ghosts! I love how the ghosts were able to interact with the living dragons, as well as how intelligent they were: even in the afterlife they were still competing and bickering, and they were able to change their opinions and hearts to help Ruskin and his friends.
Not good. Honestly, they're trying to diminish Roke's character just because they accidentally made a better dragon then Ruskin. I mean, the beetles do prove pretty useful, tho.
This story just keeps getting better and better. The camping adventure was super cute! I loved the ghosts inside the castle and how they helped our little dragons.
