Fated to unearth an ancient demon. Haunted by ghosts, her mother’s death, and an unexpected love. Greer must find faith in her new supernatural powers to triumph over darkness.

As grad assistant on the local archaeology dig, Greer Dixon is one step closer to her dream career. Her mother would've been proud if she hadn't been gruesomely murdered a decade ago. Hard work and a sixth sense for lost and broken things help fill the void until an accident ignites her psychic gift. Now she's seeing ghosts all over town and dreaming cryptic messages from her mother. When her professor, Adam Walker, rescues her from the jaws of a hellhound with only a chant and mysterious light, Greer suspects her life has changed forever. Yet, she's not ready to embrace faith in the unseen or the truth about her past, even to save herself and the victims sure to follow.

A paranormal thriller exploring one young woman's personal and spiritual awakening as she grapples with her fundamental beliefs in science, religion, and love. A must-read for fans of Deborah Harkness and Charlaine Harris.

3.5 stars I have to say this was a interesting book I love the cover I don't think the author is well known there wasn't that many reviews its a cross between urban fantasy mixed with a little horror centered around a woman named Geer who can see ghosts etc its all linked to what happened to her mom it was a refreshing read Im not sure if thell be a second book or not.

This is not a genre I normally read but this book is from a local author and so I picked it up. I would classify it as paranormal fiction but it had a little light romance in there too. It was not too long and I enjoyed the characters. If you are looking for something that is light, not too long and enjoyable, I would recommend this book.

Archeology student Greer Dixon is about to find her life’s purpose on a dig that becomes personal. Her professor is much more than he seems, leading her into a world unseen by most for a royal battle for good. This debut novel blends elements of the occult with romance and family relationships, as it draws the murder of Greer’s mother into her heroic role against ancient evil.

Didn’t want it to end

This book takes its time to introduce the characters in such a way that makes you feel like you know each of them personally. I didn’t want the book to end and I can’t wait to read more about Greer/Adam and “the family”

K. E Sanderson takes old concepts and turns them into something new. A mix of legend, folklore, religion, and more - all come to play as Greer fights her way through learning how to manage a new "talent", and dealing with malevolent spirits and demons chasing after her. The cast of characters all help her in a different way as she tries to overcome new difficulties. Adam, a professor she works with and, as her story goes, her love interest, is adorably devoted to her safety and comfort. It was a really cute story, and I hope to see more.

I was intrigued to want to read this book after visiting a used bookstore. I really enjoyed the book. It flowed well and there were a few antagonist in the story to give a good conflict. I liked how the budding friendship blossomed, and the light-hearted banter between friends. Only thing that was a bit of a bummer, was the lack of more romance. When two people realize they have feelings for each other they don’t holler “I love you”right away. Interested what will happen next for Greer.
