One sexy football player. One sassy small town librarian. Is there any hope for happily ever after?
Charlie
HEA? No way.
Jasper Sutton is the reason I watched my dream go up in smoke.
I don’t care that he’s ridiculously hot and the night we met was one of the best of my life. The fact that he’s also funny and easy to talk to means next to nothing.
He tore all my hopes to shreds when he bought the old library to turn it into a gym. I can’t forgive him.
Jasper
Charlotte “Charlie” Drake is something else. And I don’t mean that as a compliment.
She might be gorgeous and sexy, but she’s also headstrong and stubborn.
I get it--I messed up. I didn’t have all the facts and took things too far.
But I’m crazy about her. She’s the only woman who looked past my name and reputation to see the real me. I want to prove to her that I’m serious, I’m sorry, and we could be good together.
What does it take to get over the ultimate fumble and still win the game?
A.M. Williams is just a simple girl from the south that found herself living abroad. When she’s not annoying her cat or reading, she’s spending time with her husband and traveling as much as possible. She has a serious case of wanderlust and wants to go as many places as possible while she can. She loves Cheerwine, sweet tea, and North Carolina (eastern style) BBQ as well as those crystal clear waters on the North Carolina coast.
A super sweet read that was beautiful in every way! Charlie and Jasper hit it off but when Charlie learns some truths things go sour! Jasper didn’t give up and perused the gorgeous, feisty woman and that gave us a book loaded with some amazing fireworks!
I loved how this was a quick enjoyable read! I also love the small town feel and how amazing the town itself is! This is a new to me author and I will definitely read again!
*I received a free copy of Blitz. This has in no way influenced my voluntary review which is honest and unbiased.*
I really enjoyed Charlie and Jasper! Especially - and this is not usual for me - because Charlie was reluctant to even talk to Jasper at first.
There was a lot of humor, a lot of chemistry, friendship, hotness, and a little dash of well-placed drama. The story was well done, and the writing was good. The character development worked well for me, and I will definitely read more by this author in the future.
This was my first book by this author and I really liked it. I was telling my hubby about it, asking if I was unreasonable to think Charlie forgave Jasper to quickly. He said I was. I don't think I am lol Ultimately, I enjoyed this and will read more from AM Williams.
A M Williams is a relatively new author to me but the books I have read I have really enjoyed. From the first chapter to the last I was invested in Jasper Sutton and Charlotte (Charlie) Drake’s story.
It was well written with characters who you cannot help but fall for. They were easy to relate too and although this is not a particularly long book Ms. Williams certainly packed a lot into it.
The connection between Jasper and Charlie is strong when they first meet, but circumstances pull them apart.
Having lost her job due to her library closing, Charlie learns that Jasper brought the old library and plans to turn it into a gym and is furious.
Jasper is a professional footballer who wants to give back to the small town community he calls home. Can Jasper convince Charlie to take a chance on him and prove to her that there is more to him than it appears? Their chemistry is intense and impossible to ignore.
Can Jasper and Charlie work through their differences and in doing so find their happily ever after? Blitz is an entertaining, sweet read that I really enjoyed with secondary characters that added an additional layer to the story.
The addition starts with the book cover….yeah…yeah…yeah don’t judge a book by its cover they say ….well we all do it and this one here it is the scratch to your itch or better yet the filling to your oreos! Speaking of filling…..wait, that’s for later. Within the first chapters you get the panoramic view of whom you’re dealing with! By the time you’ve figured out who is who and how deep hate can run, you’re already hooked, and you may as well give up the fight and prepare yourself for an all-nighter!
Can’t say I didn’t warn you.
Charlie is a librarian but when her library closed due to budget cuts, she to the library to be librarian in the next town she doesn’t want to go leaving all her friends behind, but she needs a job. Jasper is a pro football player for the NFL he grew up in the small town and tries to come home every now and upon seeing the library has closed due to budget cuts he buys the building to open a gym or camp for underprivileged children this is how he has decided to give back to the community but also it is a dream of his. Fate put things in motion ensuring Charlie and Jasper meet at a beach bonfire the chemistry is instant and intense that magnetic pull won’t be ignored. Charlie isn’t a football fan and doesn’t really know who Jasper is thus not trying to get anything from him she sees him the man not the football star. Actually, she could careless who he is, to the point of nearly ignoring him and that only adds to his curiosity forcing him get to know her. Neither of them realizing that the issues headed their way in the form of several challenges will it put a damper on the intense chemistry pull or will it add fuel to it make it hotter than hot, can they come to some type of agreement despite the misunderstands from their past and is happiness in store for them?

Blitz is a frenemies to lovers, sports romance. This story is a complete standalone focusing on Charlie Drake and Jasper Sutton.
Jasper was humble, caring, hard working, ambitious, and a gentlemen. Sometimes he could be egotistical, being an NFL star and all, but that was put in check pretty quickly when he met Charlie. She knocked him on his a** with her sass and indifference. Charlie is hard working, motivated, and passionate. She was stubborn and at times I thought she acted juvenile. But even with all the bumps they encountered their chemistry was undeniable.
I thought the story had a lot of room for more development. We never learned about their families, ages, little to no interaction with each others friends. We don't know Charlie's career path in the end, etc. But overall this story was a sweet, easy, light hearted, entertaining read.
A new to me author, A.M. Williams delivers a quick, sweet read in Blitz. Jasper and Charlie are delightful characters. The story is enjoyable and the HEA is so satisfying.
Small town librarian Charlie and pro footballer Jasper have a connection from the first time they met. As they explore the connection, life sometimes throws a curve in their way. How they work through the changes will make you page turn your way to their HEA. 4 Stars #2OCCMS
Simple and yet exciting 4.5 Sometimes the simplicity of the story is enough if the psychology of the characters present is well written, with good dialogues and situations that lead to ask "what now?" " This is the case with this story which has hints of humor, but which can also be touching. I liked both characters to the point where I supported them both even in their conflicts. It’s a really good romance. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
A.M. Williams gives her readers a cute, quick romance and in my reading world, this book fit the bill perfectly. Sometimes you just want to read a little something, something and complete books of this size are perfect!
We meet Jasper and Charlie, both small town people, one is a professional football player that comes back to visit said small town and the other one isn't looking for any spotlight and likes the anonymity the small town life provides her.
"There is no way we would work if we were to even start."
At least the feeling was mutual. There was an instant attraction for Jasper and Charlie, however some past issues are keeping her cautious and Jasper has seen his fair share of ball bunnies and wants to make sure Charlie is the real deal. They keep meeting by chance and sometimes not. Their interactions were pretty funny, however it felt like the chemistry wasn't there. Maybe it was the rough start with her freaking out on him, I don't know. Either way, they felt forced pretty much the whole time.
The book is well written and as an ARC copy, hopefully going through another round of editing before publishing. Along with Jasper and Charlie, we are introduced to thier friends to help us navigate this little thing they call love. Blitz reads as a standalone with a nice epilogue to wrap things up.
BLITZ is a definite MUST READ!! Ms. Williams is a wonderful writer who knows how to grab her audience’s attention and hold onto it until the very end of her novel Blitz. She told the tale of a vulnerable and gorgeous librarian who had been deeply hurt by a professional football player she dated throughout college. After putting that relationship behind her, Charlie moved to a small town where she knew no one and started her life again. She was head of the Library where she worked, bought a home, loved working at the library which was next to the high school where she was able to interact with students and the public. Due to budget cuts, the library closes and Charlie is farmed out to the neighboring town, and drove a book mobile back to the high school parking lot once a week, which was a sad reminder of the many things she loved about that town’s library, which she saw every time she went to the high school. Jasper, a professional football player who grew up in the town, always returns home to visit his dad and friends, even one of his former teachers, every chance he gets. He decided to franchise his name to a gym facility he has long dreamt of opening to serve professional athletes of all ages and abilities, but to also open a football camp for the under privileged youth who cannot afford to attend the football camps offered or purchase the equipment needed for training. When Jasper learns the library is for sale he buys it knowing it is the perfect location to launch his franchise from and a way to give back to his hometown. Charlie and Jasper meet, and Charlie, who knows nothing whatsoever about football, despite her one failed romance, hasn’t a clue who Jasper is. Jasper is used to women falling on their faces at his feet, and finds Charlie, who is not only beautiful, but aloof and unimpressed with who he is, intriguing. So, the chase begins… And the chase brings into play wonderfully developed characters: like Jasper’s old high school teacher, who also happens to be friends with Charlie; Jasper’s best friend and manager who has a fairly rigid view of women and their role in Jasper’s life; and Charlie’s best friend who knows not only how to keep quiet, but more importantly, when to talk. The chemistry and love scenes woven into this story will burn your toes and make your heart sing with pure joy. And the people who try hard to destroy their relationship are wonderfully evil. There are enough twists and turns to keep you reading well into the night. Blitz is a definite MUST READ!!
I really enjoyed this sweet story that combines sports and books in an interesting way. The story is about Charlie Drake and Jasper Sutton, both very likeable characters that are well developed. Charlie is the town librarian but is transferred to the next town over when the library is closed due to budget cuts. This has broken her heart as she loved the library and the ties she built to the community. Jasper is a successful professional football player in the NFL. He is the small town boy who made it out but still comes back home when he can. When he sees that the library has been closed he ends up buying the building with plans to open his first athlete training facility which will also have a football camp for underprivileged kids. This is his way of giving back to his community and also launching his dream. So the scene is set for Charlie and Jasper to meet at the beach one night at a bonfire. There is immediate passion burning between them which is even hotter for Jasper as Charlie has no idea who he is, and is not falling all over the superstar. Actually she is dong the opposite and Jasper is hooked.....and has to have her. But as you know there is going to be some drama and Charlie and Jasper have it with some misunderstandings and their pasts coming back in ways. Will they be able to work past these and have a future together? Will it be football and books for the touchdown? This is a well written and very enjoyable book. The story-line has it all...drama, suspense, romance, longing and sexy passion. This was a very delightful read.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
Charlie had worked at her towns library until it had been shut down due to budget cuts. Charlie was incredibly upset that the library had been shut down because she had been forced to transfer to a different library outside of town. Jasper is a professional football player who ended up buying the library to turn it into a training gym. They meet at a bonfire and hit it off pretty well. Jasper ends up asking Charlie on a coffee date for the following day. Things go a bit sideways when Jasper shows Charlie the location for the gym and she definitely lets her anger at the situation out. After hashing out their differences after the blow up, Jasper became determined to make her his. Charlie was really hesitant initially about wanting a relationship with Jasper because he is a professional athlete. She was hurt by a professional athlete before and she did not want to go through that again. After finally putting all of their feelings out there, they begin a relationship. A break up happens due to miscommunications but Jasper is able to win Charlie over again so they can get their HEA. Overall I really enjoyed this book! Once Charlie and Jasper finally got their heads on straight I loved them together. Definitely recommend.

A.M Williams is a fairly new author to me but with every book I pick up I find myself wondering why she hasn’t crossed my radar before now. I fell hard and fast for Jasper Sutton and I adored Charlotte (Charlie) Drake, their story drew me in from the first chapter and didn’t let me go until I had read the final word. This may be a quick read but it still packs a mighty punch with characters and a journey you can really relate to. Charlie is still bitter over losing her job at the town library so when she finds out Jasper has brought it to turn into a gym, tempers start to run high. Jasper is a professional football player who is looking to give something back to the small town he grew up in and doesn’t understand what the issue with Charlie is. When he sets out to win her over that’s when the fun really begins... This is a book that ticked all my boxes, I smiled, I swooned and I giggled throughout this entertaining, sweet read. I loved all the characters in Blitz and I’m looking forward to reading more from this talented author. One click this gem you won’t be disappointed.
Charlie is disappointed and angry that budget cuts have caused the library in the town where she works to close. Then, to add insult to injury, the building gets sold and is being repurposed by the very man she just met and agreed to go on a date with. So much for love!
Jasper Sutton is accustomed to being known. Yet, Charlie Drake seems not to know who he is, nor does she seem to care. After a rocky start, he realises that instead of being repelled, he is intrigued by Charlie, and that the best course of action would be to find as many chances as possible to be around her until she agrees that they go well together romantically.
This read was fun, sweet, and refreshing. I liked all the interactions in the book, even those with secondary characters. From the beginning, I fell for Charlie & Jasper and found myself excited for them to get together.
Despite the number of pages, the author manages to deliver a full, satisfying read. I recommend it. You'll definitely enjoy it.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.
From bad first date to forever love? Charli used to run the town library until they shut it down and transferred her. She runs the bookmobile and every week she goes past her old work and sees the for sale sign and it hurts her heart. Jasper is a well known football player to all except Charli. He's visiting his hometown to build a gym to help young athletes and decides to buy an old brick building. Which one? The old library. After one date disastrous date ending in Charli storming off when she discovers Jasper bought her beloved library these two avoid each other like the plague, but that tension has to go somewhere.. 🤔 Short, sweet, and satisfying this book is everything you want in a sports romance. No matter who tries to come between these two they push past the obstacles and their relationship is all the better for it. And the epilogue is well epic.
Charlie Drake was the librarian at the Spring Hills library until budget cuts closed it and she was transferred to a larger town. She was still hoping to get the library reopened when she noticed a sold sign on the door.
Jasper Sutton is the small town not who made it big in the NFL. He buys the old library building to create his first elite athlete training gym. He meets Charlie at a beach bonfire and asks her out. While on their coffee date she finds out he bought the library and goes a little crazy on him. They end up dating but break up over a misunderstanding. They resolve their issues and get their HEA.

Charlie was the town librarian who is struggling with the decision by the town to close the library. Even though she has a job at another library in another town she misses everything about her previous job.
Jasper is a professional football player with strong ties to his hometown and the people in it. When he meets Charlie, the sparks fly but it all comes crashing down when she finds out he has purchased the building that housed the library for a gym.
Jasper is used to people wanting to be with him because of his occupation rather than the man he is and he knows that the opposite is true with Charlie. He wants to show her that they belong together but the gym is only one of the obstacles they must overcome.
Very sweet and romantic story. Football player Jasper is back in his hometown and meets librarian Charlie. There is instant attraction between the two, although they have some struggles in the beginning. Charlie has a bad experience with a professional athlete and Jasper doesn't know if he should start anything with Charlie because he is leaving town anyway. They do end up in a relationship until things got wrong due to a misunderstanding.Jasper must then do everything in his power to make amends. Well written, likeable characters, humor, easy and fast read, didn’t want to put it down.

Jaspar and Charlie hit it off when they meet. She thinks he is interesting and enjoys his company until she finds out that he is the one who has purchased the building where the library she worked at was housed before it was closed. He is an NFL player and he decides he will turn it into a gym. They want different things at times that put them at odds but they also have great chemistry and attraction. Each has some of their own issues to work through but it just adds a bit of spark and fun to their journey.

Jasper and Charlies story brings complications neither really wanted to deal with. The heat between these two is heavy and enjoyable. You know what they say the harder you have work and fight for something or someone makes it that much more worth, special, certain that it was for you! This was a good read and had a very smooth flow. One I would recommend! Miss Williams delivers, not only does she transport you into a very visual world but she guides us through it and does so with passion. Like I said, very good story!

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. Jasper and Charlie have an attraction between them that is hard to deny. Until one large obstacle stands in their path to happiness. He has come back to contribute to the town but finds himself in a bad guy position instead. Charlie and Jasper may butt heads, but they are actually perfect for each other. He knows that he has to find a way to make things right. Charlie wants to trust her heart but it is not easy. These two have a sweet love story

The blurb of this one intrigued me so I had to give this one a read. It's a good enemies to lovers book. It's good for Jasper's ego that Charlie has no clue who he is, though Jasper doesn't see it that way. Jasper and Charlie butt heads, but you can feel the underlying attraction between them. I really loved the small town setting. I'm a sucker for a small town romance. I love that Charlie is a librarian and that was a huge draw for me to read this book. This book has great characters that have great banter. That was one of my favorite parts of the book. It's an easy book to get lost in.
Charlie and Jasper hit it right off with their first meeting. Charlie is a little gun shy but she is willing to try dating again, so she says yes to a date when he asks. Everything is going just fine until Charlie realizes just who Jasper is; the man that bought the library and is turning into a gym. Charlie goes a bit crazy and the two part ways with the intent to never speak again, but there is just something about her that Jasper can't ignore. So after a bit of persuading, Jasper gets Charlie to date him again, and it's the best thing ever, until he messes it up again. Will he get Charlie to forgive him for a second time?
This was a good story, we get some ok drama, nice naughty moments, and a moment or two of "no, he didn't". Charlie and Jasper were a quick read, but they still got a full story, this didn't feel choppy or like something was missing. I give this 4 stars.
I give Jasper and Charlie 3.5 stars. I like the storyline, especially the bit about the library. I like Charlie when she is sweet and caring and loving and driven and missing her library. While I start out liking Jasper by the time he blows up at Charlie, I am not so sure. I also do not feel like her put enough effort into learning what really happened nor in getting Charlie back. There are also a few times that the writing is just a little off. Overall, I like the story.

When I read the summary of this book I thought it sounded ok. Combining two things I enjoy, sports and books. The book exceeded my expectations. It had a lot more depth than I was anticipating.
Charlie and Jasper have a rough start with a past that threatens their HEA. The book is a great complete story with an adequate epilogue.

I've now read a couple of books by the author and I really like the ones with athletes best. Once again the characters were interesting and well written and the story flowed really well. I loved Charlie and Jasper, they had great chemistry and I wanted to know what would happen to them. Looking forward to more by the author!

Discovering new authors is one of my favorite hobbies and I feel so blessed to have finally stumbled on A.M. Williams. Small town romance meets big city heart. Jasper and Charlie grab you by the heart and hold on for dear life. Blitz is a tale of deep emotion despite it's light hearted humor. It dares to tickle your funny bone while quietly stealing your heart.
5 sexy stars for a fabulous sports romance! AM Williams is one of my favorite authors and this book is her best one yet! Jasper and Charlie have a spark from the first time they meet and it gets stronger as time passes. Secrets are exposed and lack of communication threatens their happy ever after. I love how the story comes full circle in the end!
Stephannie's 5 Star Review: Charlie loves being the librarian but when her library closed due to budget cuts, she has to move to the main library. She is very bitter about the library closing. She dated a pro football player and it ended with her heart broke and embarrassment of being cheated on. She doesn't plan to date let alone date any guy who is any type of professional athlete. Jasper is a pro football player for the NFL. He grew up in a small town and comes home to visit his dad but now he wants to open a gym or camp for underprivileged children this is how he has decided to give back to the community but this has also been something he has been dreaming to do for a long time. These two meet at a beach bonfire in town and the chemistry is as hot as the bonfire. Jasper thinks it's a breath of fresh air to find women into him just for who he is the famous footballer. Charlie wants to deny the chemistry between them and ignores him which has Jasper more interested in getting to know the women who isn't that into him There is a lot of issues that occur under the surface that either address. These two have chemistry and I loved this story. I find both of these characters interesting and I really want them to have their HEA. I really want everything to work out with them. One-click this one to find out if Jasper and Charlie can find a way to have their HEA together.
Sweet and sassy read about two opposites. I really liked how the author built up the relationship between the two main characters. I recommend this book and would read more books by this author. Enjoyable and worth the time. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
