This is a book that you can read in one sitting. It is quick, gripping, and enjoyable throughout. The start shows how Suhana, after constantly battling her murky past in her daytime and nightmares. She goes to Spain for her work where she meets someone who shatters the beliefs of her past to start anew. The story takes a very emotional turn when the readers learn of the knowledge of Amar's hemophilia; bleeding disorder.

This is a story written with immense compassion and empathy and it demonstrates the same in a very intricate way.

Amar has been described as someone also with a damaged path. The characters are written well. And the weighing has been done properly. The only thing that I would ask for the author and the publisher to take into account is thoroughly editing. Some places stood out, some paragraphs were just there without anything too astounding to give. In other words, there were areas of flatness and there were areas of very heavy emotional emphasis.

All in all, a good read. I would like to read more from this author.

‘In Pursuit of Mi Amor’ by Sujata Parashar is a story that revolves around Suhana and Amar. Suhana an independent and ambitious woman working with a business consulting agency but there is something about her past which haunts her till date. Amar is a successful entrepreneur but has a genetic disorder due to which his own dad disowns him and his mother which had a very deep impact on him. He also had bitter experiences during his school and college days due to this genetic disorder due to which he keeps his distance from woman. When Suhana meets Amar for the first time there seems to be a little misunderstanding which leads to both making their own beliefs about each other. Both start having feelings for each other but the misunderstanding is a great obstacle for both. Will they be able to overcome these misunderstandings? What is that haunts Suhana till date? What does destiny have in store for Suhana and Amar? To know read ‘In Pursuit of Mi Amor’
My Thoughts:
Plot revolves around some of the issues that some of us might have experienced. It is very sad that some people don’t understand the consequences of their behaviour or acts can scar somebody’s future especially when it is a child. There are times where the readers will be a bit emotional and there are times when the readers will be laughing at the cute arguments between Suhana and Amar.
Characters are well developed and relatable. Well I would like to say here that apart from Suhana and Amar we have Suyash, Sarika and Amya and each of them have their own battles which they are trying to overcome. I loved the friendship shared by Amar and Suyash and how they consult each other if they are going through any problem. I also liked how Amar really wants to know about Suhana and also wants to help her in every possible way.
Language is simple and lucid. The narration is done beautifully and the pace of the story is perfect. The book cover is beautiful and the title of the book is apt to the plot.
Overall, it was a very good read and I would surely recommend this book.

❄ Amar is in his mid forties is a successful business man in Madrid. Suhana, a single and talented women in her early forties, travelles to Madrid to work along with Amar. Painful past is something both of them share in common. Suyash and Amya is an ideal couple, little did they know that there is a something unexpected waiting for them. So what's the past hiding behind Amar and Suhana? What will happen to the ideal couple?

❄ Its a matured story where all the protogonists are above 40. I really admire the way of writing. Its a third person POV. I never knew the title has a different meaning, its thoughtful.

❄Author tried to bring up the instances like Haemophilia (a genetic disorder) and how it affects mentally and physically. It was quite motivating to read that part of the story. Abuses/past/Traumatic childhood sometimes have no control in the person's present life. Things have a greater impact of handled carelessly. Never judge a person through their past or disabilities.

❄ Experimental yoga looks interesting, I hope to try it in future once. Its was a lively story with relatable incidents that never let you bored.

❄ Feelings cannot be controlled at somecases. But i do believe that it should not be a way that leads to the wrong side. In that case, I generally don't be in side of extra marital affairs, thats the one part which looked unfair in the story. The person on the other side side has complete faith and hope, its not correct to break them into pieces. Relationship can be sorted out in prior.

Suhana travels to Madrid for a consulting assignment to report on the business expansion plan of The Sunflower, a successful wellness company with multiple branches in Spain. Amar, the founder of The Sunflower, is planning to spread his business to India, along with launching a new exclusive wellness retreat program.

While Suhana and Amar have awkward interactions initially, couple of unexpected incidents bring them close revealing their feelings for each other. However, both have ghosts from their past which keep coming back to derail their present life.

In parallel runs the story of Suyash, childhood friend of Amar, who has also settled in Madrid as a banker with his wife Amya. A work assignment takes him to New York where he bumps into his ex-girlfriend Sarika. Subsequent transfer for a year to New York means Suyash is left in a dilemma about his loyalty for his wife and suppressed feelings for his past love. What decisions do Amar and Suyash make in this pursuit of love forms the rest of the story.

The story starts by introducing Suhana and Amar, and their respective past along with their careers. The author very well weaves together the professional life and personal interactions of the main characters. I loved how the story and narration do not get cliched while referring to successful middle-aged men and women. Suhana and Amar are instantly lovable, and their character graph is well developed slowly revealing their layers.

There is an element of intrigue, in both the parallel stories, which keeps the reader engaged with the narration. The author has also done good research around Hemophilia and hence the inclusion in the story is authentic. The subtle message of how childhood scars could shape an adult and their life decisions is conveyed well. Along with romance, the other important ingredients of a relationship like honesty, loyalty are well contrasted between the characters.

The cover is very impressive and is sure to make the reader pick it up. While the story happens in Spain and partly in New York, I wish the author captured the essence of these backdrops more while narrating the story. The pace is quick, and the book can be completed in one go. If you are a fan of romance, and prefer mature, sensible stories then this is a must read.

In Pursuit of Mi Amor is a romantic, pacy, vivid, mature and deep tale of love to be enjoyed in an arm chair over a weekend. Parashar is an expert when it comes to human relationships and the dynamics. Having read her previous books in Pursuit series, this one has upped the bar yet again. The author has weaved in two love stories of Suhana, Amar and Suyash’s love life running parallelly and has created a fine balance between the two. It was smooth to flow from Amar’s life to Suyash’ life and I admire the fact that the author being a woman has written from a male’s point of view as well as female point of view with such success. I felt watching a movie at some occasions as the characters are carved so well, realistically portrayed having their highs and lows. The constant undercurrent tussle of emotions kept me so engrossed; how the protagonists Suhana and Amar being so mature are not expressing and uniting. Their struggle of buried emotions and prejudices and gravitation towards each other kept me unnerved. Madrid city is so well depicted that a reader gets transported there naturally and could feel the aroma and essence of Spanish culture and cuisine. I developed affinity towards Amar being so endearing and charming. I am sure many would find a part of themselves in Suhana being wary of love and being guarded due to a problematic childhood. The friendship that Amar and Suyash shared was delightful being transparent and full of trust. All characters were quite relatable be it Amar, Suhana, Amya, Suyash, Sarika or Ishaani. having virtues and vulnerabilities. Suyash’s story was left at a cliffhanger showing shades of love not black and white and that’s author’s choice. I could not resist my intrigue and read the book in 2 days quickly. I must congratulate the author having portrayed her characters not picture perfect and typically heroic, instead being real, flawed and yet such beautiful people. It was refreshing and enjoyable to see people in their forties falling in love and so passionately emphasizing on the power of love. The book conveys a social message too with subtlety to accept and embrace everybody despite their vulnerabilities, disorders or troubled past. I congratulate Sujata Parashar for this beautiful book and would recommend all to this light, enjoyable, gripping romantic read. - Meenakshi M Singh

👩‍❤️‍👨Amar Varma and Suhana are in their mid-forties and single, Amar lives in Madrid and Suhana lives in Delhi. Amar has overcome a personal ongoing genetic disorder to become the brains behind the highly successful wellness company, The Sunflower. On the other hand, Suhana is the senior professional working with a business consulting agency in Delhi. The common attribute is they both had a terrible and a traumatic childhood and that's the reason they are still single because they've always been away from relationships.

👩‍❤️‍👨The Sunflower hires Suhana's consulting firm for an esteemed project and Suhana goes to Madrid for one year. They are two distinct personalities with different mindsets, couldn't form a connection at first due to a misunderstanding, but later they started developing feelings for each other. They get to know about each other's past and are attracted towards each other.

But the question is,
❔❓Will they overcome all the obstacles and get hitched for life? or
❓❔Just part their ways?

👩‍❤️‍👨The story also talks Suyash and Amaya, they are a married couple. Suyash is Amar's childhood friend, he is a banker and lives in Madrid but he relocates to New York for an assignment. He met his ex-girlfriend Sarika, there in New York.

❓❔Will he keep up her wife's trust and stay loyal to her? or
❔❓Will he fall for Sarika once again?

You'll need to riffle through this book to unfold all your answers.

💕The story is quite matured and the character development is done pretty well. Also, the book cover is cute, decent and pretty. The title is very thoughtful and the narration flows perfect. It's been long I have read such a soothing book and I must say, I truly love it.
The author has done a commendable job, making the book an easy read for everyone out there as the language is lucid and the choice of words is decent. I recommend this to all the readers- beginners or avid readers to get their hands on this one and enjoy through the lines.

It's about love, trust, betrayal, and most importantly, acceptance and letting go.

The story is told from multiple points of view and the pov changes quite frequently and swiftly but it doesn't confuse you. The author has handled it well.

There are so many characters but the good thing is that the story doesn't feel crowded. Characters are sketched well. They all have their own battles, their own story and that has been told well. I liked Suyash-Sarika-Amya's story. I felt it was more engaging than Amar and Suhana's story.

As I have mentioned above, it deals with a kind of disorder, and it seems well researched.

The only thing that bothered me was, 'too much telling'. Everything has been told, rather explained. And everything has been told beforehand, which leaves no scope for any surprise. Even though there are several elements that could have hit the readers as a surprise (at certain points of the story) if the author has allowed the story to unfold on its own.

Also, there are paragraphs and paragraphs of self talk, which is okay, but I feel that the narration would have been more engaging and smooth if the author had told this story in the first person (considering the long and frequent internal dialogues), however, it's just a thought, not a complain.

I liked the setting of the story and the cover is very attractive.

Overall, a quick, nice read.

📍In Pursuit of Mi Amor is a story which revolves around Suhana and Amar.
Amar is an attractive, keen and effective financial specialist who has Hemophilia, a draining problem. He has been harassed in school and school, and surprisingly seeing someone of his condition, however he has some way or another figured out how to beat the sensation of anxiety and diminutiveness. Nonetheless, he's unyielding to stay away from ladies.

📍Suhana is a savvy and autonomous lady who is attempting to fail to remember her past. Her past, so dim that it actually frequents her, even in her fantasies. She doesn't confide in men, and after a bombed relationship, her doubt has just strengthened.

📍Her work takes her to Spain and there she meets Amar. At the point when he meets Suhana, his purpose appears to falter. Indeed, even Suhana feels a strange fascination, and needs to disregard him, yet the issue is that they need to cooperate.

📍Would they at any point start to confide in one another and discover love?
And the story is not just about Amar and Suhana. It's also about Suyash-Amya-Sarikaa.

📍Title as the name suggests is relatable to the content. Book cover also goes perfectly with the plot. Author did an impressive work by sharing this story which is full of emotions. I didn't find any difficulty in reading the book. I would surely recommend this book.

Quite simply put, 'In pursuit of Mi amor' is like a heartfelt ode by the author to that fascinating and yet intriguing term called love! The book entices the reader from the word go to take a quick plunge into the ocean of love, and then ensures that he/she remains afloat till the end, and happily so! One continues to pray and wish that Amar and Suhana, the appealing central characters, unite with each other in the end, with all their vulnerability and failings, leaving behind the skeletons of their troubled past, imposed by destiny on them!
All the characters are natural and relatable. However, further value is added to them by the serene backdrop they operate against, i.e. Madrid, New York, and even Lisbon. One can almost feel like being there physically with them! And, there lies the success of the author - Ensuring that the reader seamlessly globe trots with the characters and FEELS like them.
I personally feel that I found this story of Romance in the forties - fresh or renewed - more interesting than those involving younger characters! However, the parallel love story, or rather stories, of Suyash is left loose - ended! Promising scope for another PURSUIT?!
And yes, I have hardly come across a book cover, more serene and soothing than this one!! Cheers, Sujata Parashar!!

Another one from the pursuit series of the well renowned novelist Mrs.Sujata Parashar.

I am writing this without holding bias towards me being a hemophilic.

Starting with, the main characters are introduced in a very neat manner and their respective plotlines are carried forward in a crisp manner.

During the course of the book one begins to realize that pain works on different planes and layers. While some have to endure physical pain , many have to endure mental pain.

Though it's a short read the author has given scope to build depth into the lead characters and there is a neat blend of supporting characters into the storyline.

The best part of the novel is the manner in which the inner feelings of the characters are brought out and as a reader I could see the magic of the narration personify in front of me.

To conclude, Physical pain can be dealt with medicines but mental pain needs to dealt with right
emotions

Mi Amor in Spanish means ‘My Love’ and the book’s characters are doing just what the heading says, they are in pursuit of love. Each in his life story is pursuing their love – be it work or true love. While the central characters of the book are Amar and Suhana lives of Suyash, Sarika and Amya too are interconnected and in pursuit of the elusive love.
The supporting characters are well described and there isn’t an overcrowding of characters. Apart from the protagonists there is a parallel story being weaved and that brings a good change in the pace and scenery while reading. I did believe Amya got a short end of the deal however that’s just my personal opinion.

It is a small book with just 186 pages and can be easily covered on a weekend. Overall I would rate the book a 3.5/5. The .5 less is for some lax editing that pop in some places. It does not hamper your reading nor is it overwhelming, but it’s just something that we would not expect from a published book.

The book revolves around the lives of the two lead characters- Suhana Singh and Amar Varma, both in their mid-forties, both having a traumatic childhood.
While Suhana suffered due to her stepfather, Amar did because of his father.

Their past experiences always kept them away from relationships, but so the fate be, both met following a professional consultation, and their similarities or differences, led them think differently about lives.

Suyash, Amar's friend, also has his own well-deserved part in the story, with many complications in his married life, read the book to find out how things turn out for everyone😄

The best part was the smooth flow where two stories were merged and still nothing ever felt out of the place! The story was also very intriguing.

I loved the plot and it was,
Overall a worth read🌼

Parashar introduces difficult issues such as trauma caused by childhood sexual abuse and discrimination due to hemophilia into this unusual romance featuring Indian expats in Spain. It was a pleasure to read a love story involving slightly older characters (fortysomethings). I really enjoyed the setting and the insights into Indian culture.
