I've wanted Petra since the first time I saw her. And she's hated me since about that same moment. Or maybe it was from the moment I gave her that wicked smile and called her Pet. Maybe a mistake, but I knew she'd be mine.
Four years later and she's still giving me the cold shoulder. That doesn't stop me. Not really. Though my pursuit's gotten a little more subtle. But time's running out. Soon we'll be off to our futures and I don't want to head in different directions.
Imagine my surprise when my dad elopes and comes home with my new mom and stepsister. My Pet's in the bedroom next to mine and it just got a lot harder for her to avoid me. And a lot icier as that cold shoulder gets even colder. If that's how she wants to be...
When it comes to books and movies, Brynn Paulin has one rule: there must be a happy ending. After that one requirement, anything else goes. And it just might in any of her books.
Brynn lives in Michigan, where she likes to spoil her children and dogs—not necessarily in that order. She also loves to cook, travel and spend far too much time on social media. She enjoys mentoring and meeting new people and is always willing to chat. Personally, she finds great pleasure in spending time with her family and dogs, as well as volunteering around her community.
First published in June 2007 by Ellora's Cave, Brynn is the author of over 130 books, including the bestselling Daly Way and Taboo Wishes series.
According to Brynn, her writing success can be attributed to an eclectic collection of music, her local road construction crews, a trusty notebook, and of course, the people in her life who’ve finally accepted that everything is research—or will be.
Another one from Brynn Paulin to add to my top favorite list. She continues to bring us amazing stories that we can't help but want to read again and again. I love a good step sibling story especially when the H is 100% focused on getting his girl and no one else matters. Each others one and only, some minor OW drama by someone H doesn't want anything to do with, epilogue at 15 years. I received an ARC for my honest review and ended up purchasing both ebook and paperback. Yeah, I loved it hard!
Safe read Dual virgins No ow/om drama (another girl wants him but he tells her repeatedly and very clear that he’d never be with her) Epilogue 15 years
Brynn Paulin never fails to deliver safe and romantic books, and this one is no exception. Petra and Barrett meet on their Freshman year of High School and instantly develop crushes on each other, yet both believe the other hates them. Everything gets more complicated when they are told their parents married each other and they are now step-sibilings. This book tells us their journey on discovering how to accept and demonstrate their feelings for one another, while fighting a few demons along the way. I appreciate that while their connection would be described as instalove, they took a while to learn how to express what they felt, something expected as they are still inepxerienced teenagers. The writing was overall really good and even though some things felt rushed, the key parts of the book were properly developed. Besides, the typos were really few and far in between, so it was no bother. The lenght of the book is longer than the usual for Ms. Paulin, but I felt it was perfect for this book. It really only took a couple of hours to finish.
So good. I couldn’t put it down! Barrett & Petra we’re so good and perfect together once they both decided that they were all in. Super steamy! Loved it!
