Megan Wolters grew up in Washington State but resides in Utah with her husband, two daughters, and turtles. She is the youngest child (of eight) and a people-pleasing Capricorn. She has a high tolerance for horror, but tragic romance keeps her up at night. She has been writing since 2002 and failing in the publishing world since 2012. She first came up with the concept of Blood and Fire when she was fifteen. Gwen has been her comfort character for nearly two decades and bringing her to print for anyone to read is frightening and rewarding. She listens to Taylor Swift while writing her most violent scenes and the Bridgerton soundtrack during the boring bits. You can find Megan on TikTok, Instagram, and Goodreads for updates on her upcoming books.

Hunters, the second book in the Shadow World series, is a great follow-up to book 1. I love that Megan gave descriptions of each world at the beginning of the book. It helped clear up any confusion I had at the end of book 1. Because this book jumps back and forth and in time, I'd recommend reading in paperback format. I read mine on the kindle and wasn't able to easily flip back to the beginning to see what each world and timeframe meant which added a lot of confusion for me. If I'd had the paperback, it would've been easy to follow.

We get to know more of the story of the Shadow World and how it came to be. The character development and growth as well as the plot were well done. I loved getting to know Adia and Austin better. Their relationship is swoon worthy. I enjoyed following the ups and downs of their relationship journey.

I can't wait to read book 3 to see what happens next.

I love Megan’s writing so much and the way her brain works is just pure genius. She writes mind bending fantasy novels that have you on the edge of your seat constantly.
I loved Souls and Hunters equally as much. I need Shadows right now!!
Austin and Adia are everything and I’m always rooting for them.
I really wasn’t sure if this series was for me and now I 100% know it is! I would recommend this to everyone, the summaries don’t even do the book justice.
I feel everything that happens in this book personally, as if they are my family now. Megan always knows how to make you feel connected to the characters.

I still stand by Sam, Judy and adding Winifred to the mix…. they can choke.

Megan…. SHADOWS PLEASE?!?

Megan Wolters continues so weave a very cool, very intricate world. I love how she holds the timeline together and how well paced plot moved. The ending blew my mind. I canNOT wait for book three. The timeline jumps around ALOT. Make sure you check her scene headers so you don't get scrambled.

I absolutely ADORE Austin. He is an amazingly loyal, loving, and humane character. He's not your typical romance lead. And I'm here for that. Love Adia and him together so much.

Listen, the first book had me thinking about it while I wasn't reading. WELL! The second book took a step further and made an appearance in my dreams.

This was excellent.

I was a little confused the first 15% or so, but once I figured out what was happening it was easier to go with the flow. This does jump around the timeline and points of views, so if that's not your thing you may not enjoy this.

Even though the first book absolutely spoils some things the twists were still on an unguessable level. That last one I had figured out about halfway through the book when we discovered that Lou was a guardian. It just made me smile when it was confirmed.

Over all I enjoyed this book and look forward to the next one. I would recommend it.

Epic Ride

This book has you wanting more in a good way. Austin and Adia are phenomenal. I love that through everything the keeping coming back to each other. The new character and how the author continues building more onto exisiting ones is so good. This is an expansive story that with each chapter the story continues to build. Cannot wait for the next book.

An exciting sequel that turns your mind around

WARNING: SPOILERS FOR THE PREVIOUS BOOK IN THE FOLLOWING PARAGRAPH
Adia is out of the Shadow world but trapped in an insane asylum, trying to keep control over her mind and body. Meanwhile, Austin is also trapped, but at Castle, a facility run by someone who wants to use him for information. Alternating between themselves and old memories, the two of them will fight as hard as they can to get control over their lives again and be together.

There's something to fascinatingly unique about this world and series that everytime, I just get sucked into it. It's enthralling and mind-twisting in a way that makes you second-guess EVERYTHING. And I love it! The story is confusing at times, but in a good way, it keeps the mystery alive. I loved how the characters needed to fight for their memories and their love, it was beautiful and heartbreaking. I absolutely adore Austin and Adia and their dynamic. It's refreshing and beautiful, their love truly inspiring. The revelations had me on my ass, I couldn't believe what I was reading and at the same time, it felt so logical and obvious that I wondered how I didn't figure it out before. That's how good the foreshadowing is. The writing is smooth and addictive, full of action and feelings and suspense. I loved the different worlds and timelines the characters explore and how stressful some of them were. There is so much at stake in this story that it's hard to let go. Even after finishing it, I was in need of more and I can't wait for the next book.

I highliy recommend if you're looking for a unique story!

Warning: This book jump around time to make clear some points. If you are not a fan of that this book may be not for you!

Now the review!

This book have twists in every corner but they all make sense and you will be not able to guess the next one is coming until it happens!

The last one was only a confirmation for me regarding Lamarse and yes, I wasn't expecting to have that information in that part of the book but earlier.

The action here is in another level and follow the last part of Souls and you need to take care of not get lost in the middle of the time jumps.

I had a couple of questions in Souls that got the answer in Hunter:

"Judy and Winifred.... enemies? demons? allies?" - Judy is not bad as expected but I still don't like Winifred.....
"Adia is really out of the Shadow Earth?" - Read to have the answer :p (no spoilers sorry)
"Shemu is really bad or another villain with a logic point?" - I mean.......... His kind are evil for sure but the last info about him and Adia made me says "Ah! So that is the explanation!"

Can't wait for book 3!

Adia is badass and strong and Austin will be there for sure! :)

Wow. What a ride!

This book took the story on one hell of a convoluted journey in the best of ways. We are whipping between worlds, learning some back story and other POVs from book one, meeting new people, more twists and just SO MUCH.

I cannot say much more because it just gives stuff away.

But so, THANK YOU for a book that so wonderfully recaps book 1, outlines all the worlds/areas that make up the setting, and brings you up to speed.

I was on the edge of my seat several times throughout this book, I had my heartstrings tugged and then yanked out, and whenever you think you've got it, things are shaping up.. WRONG.

Can't wait for book 3!

I love these books. Once I start, I have a hard time putting them down. I looooove the alternate timelines and how Austin and Adia always find one another no matter what memories they currently have access to. The world building is phenomenal, it sucks you in with such ease. Cannot wait for book 3!

A well written follow up to 'Souls' that keeps the momentum from the first book, but adds new direction.

New light or darkness, perhaps (I won't expand too much to avoid spoilers) is shed on some of the supporting characters in 'Souls'. The world building is second to none.

The right amount of chilling with enough tenderness to soften the blows.

Highly recommended.

I don’t even know what is happening anymore, in a good way. Just when I think I know what’s happening and starting to understand certain things, multiple twists are thrown at me and I’m once again left with many questions.

The next book comes out in 30ish days and I am so impatient for it. I need to know what happens and I really hope Austin and Adia have a happy ending at some point.

Action packed

This sequel to Souls continues the journey of Earth, where shadow world souls were considered a sleeping sickness, and the shadow world. You learn more of what and how things happen. Do not expect a happy ending or a resolution, but you will see some wins to battles.
