Filthy doesn’t even begin to cut it…

Ex-soldier Clint ‘Gravedigger’ MacGregor is cool among the tombstones. Tilling the earth by hand, he’s King of Oaklawn and likes it that way. No annoying folks in his face, and plenty of solitude to muffle the PTSD noise upstairs. But once he spies a sexy, tousle-haired angel kneeling in the grass every Saturday, it’s time to rejoin the land of the living, stat. Here’s hoping his Sunshine doesn’t mind a little mud…

She’s been lost, but now she’s found.

The death of her twin has gutted Casey Rae Kent. Turning hermit, weekly plein-air grieving sessions are the sum of her social life. But a thwarted attack and subsequent rescue by a hot Viking lookalike have her shaking off the stupor. Is this spade-wielding hero a gift from the heavens? Can Mr. Badass and Brawny be her sweet salvation? Hmm, best get this dirty boy’s take on clueless virgin unicorns…

Two troubled souls, zapped by the lightning bolt to the heart. All’s fantastic until fate lobs more mega-grade grenades in their path. Hell, who said love was easy?

It’s all Rhett and Scarlett’s fault.

(Talkin' the grand staircase scene, people.)

Stung by the literary lovebug at a tender young age, JC has been devouring steamy romantic fiction ever since. Seriously… What could possibly be more delectable at the end of a rough day than a big, bad, moody brute brought to his alphalicious knees by a gorgeous, sassy-talking heroine?

Well, besides Tom Hardy showing up shirtless on your doorstep with car trouble.

Penning “I wish” fantasies while slogging through the woefully Rhett-scarce world, JC invites readers to indulge in decadent escape through her foulmouthed, passion-saturated tales.

Uh. You did hear foulmouthed, right?

Erm…

💩the muddy boots and filthy house was too much thanks.
💩honest to God, the V card play 🤨
💩too much of a backstory
💩this author teased for way too long

To keep it simple: Clint get a maid, buddy, and foreplay is good unless it keeps going on for weeks, then it gets boring.

Peace out ✌🏻

Gravedigger is the first book I have read from this author, and she found me on Instagram. So glad she did; I highly enjoyed this book; I love the concept of this original story.

Gravedigger is my kind of alpha, stalker, possessive dirty talker. Ex-military and handsome as hell. I love him. Casey is funny, intelligent, and grieving from the death of her sister. I love the witty banter between the two.

This is a fast read, and I was worried that there wasn’t going to be a well-developed plot. I was wrong; there is a good balance between a meaningful storyline and steam with tremendous character growth. I look forward to future books from the author.

If you like a quicker read but packs a punch of insta-attraction, steam, and some crazy acting, then this one is for you. Clint, or Gravedigger as he's known, finds himself finally meeting the woman he's admired from afar. Clint is rough, a little bit of a loner, but boy does he know how to talk dirty. Our heroine Casey is a little more reserved but, even needed saving, falls pretty quickly for her hero. There are some secrets and then outside forces that conspire to keep them apart but ultimately bring them together. Pretty good action scenes, lots of hot steam, and pretty great character chemistry.

Prepare to have your panties melted off!

Casey, aka Sunshine, is visiting her twin sister's grave when she's attacked by a would-be rapist. Very fortunately for her, Clint, aka Gravedigger, looks forward to Casey's regular visits and just happens to be watching her that day.

Once they've officially met, these two can't stay away from each other! The sexual tension between them will have you turning the pages until the very end. HOT. STUFF.

This is a steamy , sexy opposites attract romance between Clint the gravedigger and Casey who visits her twins grave every Saturday. It's insta love with sparks flying between them. The author moves the story quickly and smoothly with vividly painted scenes and an entertaining dialogue. I was hooked from start to finish reading their story. I loved and would recommend this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

Dirty Boys Do It Better, and OMG yes they do, in the first book in this new series by J.C. Jaye. If you like dirty talking but slightly shy alphas then Clint is your guy. But Gravedigger is not only about the steamy hot attraction between Clint and Casey, there is an equally good storyline to go with.

KEEP YOUR FACE TO THE SUNSHINE AND YOU WILL NEVER SEE SHADOWS

Ex-military man Clint, now turned gravedigger, has admired Casey from afar, she is still getting over the death of her twin Beth, who she still feels with her every day. Clint is the man to help her, and although family drama keeps getting in the way, and Clint not thinking he is good enough for Casey, the two are meant for each other. My heart went out to Casey at the loss of her sister, you could just feel the love and the struggle she was having.

This was a quick, easy read. I loved the hero. I felt empathy for him, as well as the heroine. They had immediate chemistry that they put to good use. Throw in a bad guy, and you have the trifecta of a good book.

3 Alarm Fire Hot!!
Your gonna fall in love with this foul mouthed, sexy hunk.

Clint MacGregor is a old fashioned gravedigger. He sees a ray of sunshine at a graveside every week and becomes obsessed.

I stomped on the gas, my pulse kicking up another notch at the thought of gazing upon her lovely figure, a much-needed vision after a weeklong drought. Please be there, bright angel. This addict needs his Saturday fix, bad.

Casey is grieving her twin sister when she sees a Viking. He’s everything she’s not.

“Really, Case? All those bulging muscles and untamed beards do it for you?

This is a steamy, scorch your kindle insta lust page turner.

First in a new series. Sledgehammer... is next!!

A super fun and sexy read.

Clint and Casey —Gravedigger and Sunshine— met in a set of unexpected circumstances. He saves her from an attacker while visiting her late twin sister’s grave. The immediate attraction and connection is undeniable and the sparks are impossible to ignore.

I loved both characters very much, both are broken and scattered in different ways but so strong and resilient. I loved how they found in each other the encouragement they were missing to keep going after so much pain. The build up and tension was fantastically written, the chemistry was obvious and the the dirty talk was the hottest.

I loved how behind Clint’s tough and alpha facade, there was a gentle and vulnerable soul in need of companionship and someone to love. It was perfect for Casey’s sweetness and free spirit. I enjoyed to see her going after what she wanted and needed and giving herself an opportunity to be happy again after losing her sister.

This story was very entertaining and fun. Thank you so much to the author for gifting me this ARC. 💕

Clint is a gravedigger, after his military career ended and living with PTSD he finds solace in the mud he digs, and that's all he needs until he meets his ray of sunshine. After the death of her twin, Beth, feeling lost Casey finds herself visiting her grave every Saturday, but one day is the start of something neither could have imagined. Their attraction to one another is instant, after Clint saves Casey, she finds that spark of life that left her after Beth's death but as is life it isn't all that plain sailing for the pair. Will they get a chance at a HEA? This is a well written story of two people, who if not for tragic circumstances would never have met, and had a chance at happiness in their darkened worlds. The story has you from the first page with the amusing inner monologue of Clint and Casey, the reality check of life and down right dirty whispers!

Gravedigger is the first book in J.C. Jaye’s Dirty Boys Do It Better series and also my first read by this talented author. A storyline that outlines the deep emotional impact of loss and the fight to simply survive each and every day. A sexy, Alpha, ex-military man is just my type of hero and Casey’s sass and intelligence are great character attributes in light of her personal struggles and their emotional impact. This story has so much to enjoy with its sizzling chemistry, character development and the heartfelt and touching emotions too. I can’t wait to read the next exciting addition to this series!

This was the first book I read by J.C. Jaye and I’m so glad I did it. The book blew me away. I really didn’t know what to expect with the title 😊, but that was a freaking good book.

A lot of humor, lot of romance and a bit of cliffhanging. It’s a beautiful insta-love romance with dirty talking on the side.

Can’t blame Casey to go for Clint, seriously can he just be less perfect. Book boyfriend alert !

Totally recommended it for a good and steamy read.

This book is by a brand new to me author. I'd not even heard of this author before I received her book, but decided that the blurb sounded interesting enough that I'd give it a chance! And I'm really glad I did. This story isn't your typical romance, the characters aren't your typical hero/heroine. What they are is real. Realistic characters, with realistic problems, realistic jobs. I found that I quite enjoyed that....

Casey Rae has just had her world turned upside down, suffering a tragedy no twin ever wants to experience. And her life just isn't the same. She doesn't know how to move forward, and her life is falling apart. A chance encounter at the most unlikely place helps her put things back into perspective, and take a chance on an unlikely hero!

Clint (Gravedigger) has struggled with the aftermath of war since he got out of the military. But he has found his own ways to cope, as unusual as that might be. And just when he has resigned himself to a life alone, Casey Rae catches his eye, and he just doesn't know what to do about it!

This book started out kinda stalkerish, kinda awkward (the characters, not the writing!) But really, that was just the characters. Clint is a real man, with real problems, not the polished hero we usually get in romance novels that seem to good to be true. And Casey Rae is the perfect woman for him. I enjoyed this story, and the imperfectly perfect connection between Casey Rae and her Gravedigger!

dirty dirty talking hot man beast - not erotica

Holy hotness! Talk about ridiculous amounts of sexual tension (not sex). This is a slow burn romance. The dirty talk was quality and made it a fun and sexy read. I finished this story in a day. I look forward to reading Seldgehammer.

Holy Kamoley!

This book was absolutely on fire! I took a chance with this one, and boy am I glad I did.  Gravedigger has to be the best dirty mouthed, gorgeous character ever.

Clint "Gravedigger" and Casey "Sunshine" are the definition of "opposites attract."  He is the caretaker of a cemetery, and she is hanging on by a thread after tragedy befalls her family.  Clint saves her in all the ways that count.

If you love blue collar, dirty talking, sweethearts who will do anything for their women, this is definitely the kind of man you need to read.  I was sucked in from page one. JC Jaye is now on my list of authors to keep reading.

4.5🌟🌟🌟🌟✨

First I loved these characters. Digger and his friends are hilarious, if you didn't know them you wouldn't be sure if they were really friends but if you knew you'd never
doubt their loyalty.

Sunshine or Casey was her own kind of funny with her nervous talking one minute and her completely outlandish requests
the next.

And let's not forget her conversations with her sister, and you can decide for yourself if she was talking to herself.

Most of the story was fun, about getting back to life, there was a little drama, a little danger, and a little sadness to keep things real.

There is family, friends and of course plenty of romance so check it out!

Funny, entertaining and exciting!

It deals with some trauma and grief, but doesn’t hit you over your head. It is handled well. Opposites can attract and this story gives plenty of love with ample twists.

Very sexy read, my goodness I don't think it could be any hotter.
Gravedigger and his Sunshine's chemistry was off the charts.
I would of liked a bit more of the non 'sexy time' parts of their lives but it was still a very good read.

This is the first book I have read from this author and I so happy that I took a chance with this book. It’s dirty and I could not put it down.

Clint ‘Gravedigger’ MacGregor is a filthy mouthed alpha. Casey is lonely and grieving the loss of her sister. Opposites definitely attract in this amazing story. This was written incredibly well and was a quick read for me.

I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Gravedigger

Overall 5/5
Plot 5/5
Detail 5/5
Continuity 5/5
Character Development 5/5
Character Chemistry 5/5
Spice 4/5

JC Jaye is the first brave soul to approach the no books barred reviewers, challenging us to read her book Gravedigger. She saw our honest, and sometimes brutal, reviews and decided she could handle what we dished. Well, JC, hats off to you. Gravedigger knocked it out of the park.

Clint and Casey’s story is captivating and comedic, capturing the quirky humor that was fluent and consistent throughout the story. There was an adorable awkwardness with the characters that had my grin growing with each chapter. But there was more to this story than just two socially awkward individuals drawn to each other. The backstories were heartbreak and the conflict was something that is downright terrifying.

The characters’s chemistry was on point. Though these two dorks were in a deliciously delectable dance of sexual tension that developed increasingly from the word go. When the going got hot, no extinguisher could be found. That’s not to say this book is a steam locomotive racing at top speed. I’d call this a slow/medium burn. There’s plenty of spice but it takes a bit to make that homerun.

Overall, I am so thrilled JC approached us. This book made my day and gave me a brief reprieve from the angsty style books that I normally cater to. Don’t miss this book, and I’m looking forward to starting Sledgehammer soon.

You shouldn't judge anyone without hearing their story ...
by and1515

Gravedigger was his new moniker and yeah It kind of explains everything about him in one word.
Especially after returning from living and breathing in a terrifying sand box with a pocketful of memories.
Grief... Yes her grief Is what brought her here today and even thought it had only been a short time; she was still trying to understand why.
However the second he noticed some rift-faft stalking her like his prey; but now all bets were off.
She was the damsel in distress and he was the burly hero who saved her from a terrible situation.
And oh yeah there's also the growing mutual attraction between them.
Sometimes you have to start with just a few steps a simple one-two; and yes they'll be a few missed steps here and there so practice
over and over again.
Until you finally find your common rhythm together.

This is a new author to me and I will be giving her another chance because of the intriguing storyline and well developed characters. Clint is a crude, foul-mouthed, old school gravedigger that is a veteran. Casey is at the graveyard like clockwork since loosing her twin. Gravedigger schedules his break around the time Casey is there visiting. He doesn’t even know her name but he has named her Sunshine and when he sees someone stalking her like prey he is livid. Once they actually formally meet there is mutual attraction and chemistry. This is a true opposites attract story and I can’t wait for more from this author!

"Gravedigger" by JC Jaye is a romance that explores the delicate interplay between grief, healing, and unexpected love.

With a backdrop of poignant loss and rugged beauty, the story introduces us to two vividly drawn characters, Clint ‘Gravedigger’ MacGregor and Casey Rae Kent, whose lives converge in the most unlikely of settings…. a graveyard.🪦

Clint is our brooding hero, and his solitary existence as a grave digger reflects his desire to escape the noise of his past and the PTSD he battles. The way the author writes about his connection to the land and the tombstones gives us a glimpse into his layered psyche. He’s a man who finds solace in the silence, yet his quiet world is turned upside down when Casey enters his life.

Casey, reeling from the devastating loss of her twin, represents a different kind of struggle. Her grief is all encompassing, and her retreat into solitude is totally understandable. As she adopts a hermit like existence, her weekly visits to her sibling’s grave allow her to process her pain, which makes her eventual connection with Clint all the more powerful. Their first encounter, marked by danger and a heroic rescue, sets off a spark that quickly escalates, embodying the essence of instalove.

Clint's brooding demeanor and Casey's sadness create a bond that's both sweet and tension-filled. While Clint embodies the "grumpy" archetype, he also shows vulnerability, making him a complex and engaging character. Casey’s warmth and spirit (once she shows it) act as a balm to Clint’s scars, emphasizing the power of love.

However, this story is not without its challenges. Just when it seems that Clint and Casey might settle into their new relationship, life throws them obstacles that force them to confront their pasts and their feelings. The author captures the realities of love beautifully, it's not just about the initial spark but about navigating the emotions that come with it. The additional conflicts keep the story engaging and highlight that love is not always an easy path, but rather a journey filled with detours and surprises.

One of the things I love about this book, is the author’s ability to infuse humor and heart into serious moments. The dialogue is sharp and often witty, providing levity amid the heavier themes. The cast of side characters also adds to the story, offering support and insight to both Clint and Casey.

Overall, "Gravedigger" is a compelling exploration of two troubled souls finding their way to each other through heartache and healing.

If you're a fan of grumpy sunshine romances and stories that delve into the complexities of life and love, this book is definitely worth a read.

Prepare yourself for a journey that’s as much about personal growth as it is about passion, and remember….love, like life, can be messy…. but that’s what makes it beautiful. 😊
