When the mighty Thorne pricks the heart of the Frozen, the end will be set in motion… Sick of the unwelcome attention that comes with being a member of an extremely powerful family, Piper Thorne longs to escape her magical burden and live a mortal’s simple existence. On a whim, she adopts an alias and jets off to Ireland, where she stumbles into the path of the enticing rogue, Cian O’Malley. But she’s ill prepared to deal with the onslaught of emotions his wicked grin stirs up when he oh-so-casually turns up the charm.
A hardened, down-on-his-luck warlock, Cian O’Malley is determined to change his family’s plight and restore their stolen magic. In the midst of his half-baked plan to woo the bewitching Piper, he finds himself in a death match with an old enemy who’s carrying a monumental grudge.
Before long, Cian discovers Piper might just hold the key to reversing a two-hundred-and-fifty-year-old curse. He only has to keep them both alive long enough to solve the riddle written in the O’Malleys’ ancient grimoire and convince Piper to trust him with her heart.
T.M. Cromer is a multi-award-winning sorceress of the written word and fearless architect of high-stakes paranormal romance. With a flair for twisty plots, slow burns, and swaggering heroes hot enough to scorch the page, she conjures stories that hook readers and refuse to let go. From her cozy PNW lair, flanked by two Hellhounds and an unholy amount of caffeine ambition, she weaves love, danger, and humor into every page. Whether it’s witches, sirens, or magical assassins, her characters never behave, and neither do her stories.
When she’s not dreaming up new ways to ruin her characters’ lives before crafting their HEA, she’s daydreaming about swimming with orcas or cackling over a particularly clever line of dialogue. Come for the magic, stay for the heartbreak, and maybe fall a little too hard for a man who only exists on the page.

I honestly don’t think I have ever put down a book so quickly after picking it up. I felt like all those that gave it more than one star were in on an inside joke that I just didn’t get. The premise seems really cool and that it will be an engaging book, but that’s where it ends… the pacing is atrocious like maybe 1 chapter in to the book the male protagonist is having baby fantasies!? The writing is clumsy and unsophisticated and honestly such a let down.
OMG! Ms. Cromer has continued her legendary Thorne Witches series expanding into Ireland. Cian has the same sex appeal as all the men in the prior books. Piper Kelly Thorne is a delight! Reading this book was insightful and hilarious! Can't wait to read about the rest of the O'Malley family!
Written a series that was not completely compelling, let alone addictive? Again, Ms. Cromer, your writing with witches brings magic to the pages of any novel. This one, another Thorne Witch who actually wishes to be normal. Piper, who we have met before, feels there is simply so much "drama" attached to the magic that comes with being a witch. So off she goes onto her vacation in Ireland, traveling by airplane, as wishes no magic for two weeks. Piper just wants to normal. Alas, her first night in Ireland she meets Cian, part owner with his sister of a pub and B&B, and part-time entertainment for his pub. He is immediately attracted to Piper, who he tries to convince how wonderful he is, temporaryly, as he behaves like a man who kissed the blarney stone. But things cannot ever be simple for a Thorne, and apparently O'Conners are full of bad luck and locked magic. These ingredients make a right crazy Irish stew of intrigue, black magic being abused, and hardship for all concerned. Hmmm, this story does include a Thorne, to be expected... This novel is the beginning of the unraveling of the loss of O'Connor magic, and the series is certain to be a very bumpy ride! However if you have never read a TM Cromer novel, you're missing out! You can begin this series without reading The Thorne Witches series, however why miss all the fun up till the beginning of Piper and Cian's story? It was great, yet again! Totally entertaining, fun, moments of OMG what next, and of course, love!
Totally loved this beginning of The Unlucky Charms!
DESERVES A 10!!! When you find a Author that explode into you heart with a series you dont expect the next one to do the same even when it includes few characters you have come to love. As i engulf the amazing writing skills of T.M. Cromer I am emotionally drained, distraught and overly excited to see whats coming. Every emotion you have gets tested in this magical journey of despair, mistrust, and danger. The characters draw you in the journey sweeps you away and the feelings fill you heart. This is going to be fantstic well written series. I truly loved reading and rereading the Thorne Witches series but Mrs Cromer once again you have out done yourself. Thank you for taking us on another mystical adventure...... I hope readers get to travel into your world. They won't be disappointed
5++++ star, another excellent read from T. M Cromer, brilliant read, lovely storyline, exceptional writer, cannont wait for the next one...keep them coming 😀
T.M. Corner has done it again. She combined old favorite characters with a new family of characters. This is going to be anothin the edge of your seat series. Can't wait for the next installment.
Book hangover anyone? It's been about two weeks since I read this one and I still miss the characters. You will not go wrong with TM Cromer and her Thornes!
Ok so this is a spin off series and I suspect you might enjoy this a lot more if you have read the original series. Members of the Thorne family were dropped in with no introduction which was confusing and the sheer number was overwhelming. The relatives in established relationships were so in love with each other it was sickly sweet and I suspect these are couples who have had their own book previous and the sappiness is for the fans of those couples. which if you have been on the journey with them and are into soppy love stories then great, but for those coming into the series here it was just odd, I don’t know these characters and their deep love does not fill me with emotion it just made me roll my eyes if anything. The romance in this story was instalove, if that’s your thing you might like it, me I prefer a super slow burn.
As someone with a large family spread over different areas of Ireland, it was very clear that this wasn’t written by an Irish author. While I liked that the dialogue was written in a way to help the reader ‘hear’ the Irish accent, it wasn’t authentic. Scottish colloquialism was used numerous times, certain Irish phrases were not quite right and the author substituted fuck with feck nearly every time, while the Irish do say feck it doesn’t work like this and some instances stood out as glaringly wrong. If you don’t have a personal knowledge of Ireland/the Irish this probably won’t bother you.
Aside from my personal grumbles about the dialogue and sappiness I just found the character development and storyline lacking. I wasn’t surprised by the ending at all, the character growth was minimal and didn’t feel authentic and don’t even get me started on the weird ass baby storyline, i had so many issues with that
I could not finish this book. The characters are ridiculously childish and are completely unrealistic in their words and actions. The plot line is nearly nonexistent, and all of the characters seemed one dimensional.
Wow! This is a strong 10 star book. It's magically delicious! If you love paranormal books you will love this one!
I'm not one to post the story of the book because I am always afraid that I will give spoilers so I tend to review about the authors characters and writing style.
This is my first book I have read from T.M. Cromer and hopefully won't be the last. I loved everything about this book. The story was well written and it flowed flawlessly. There was NEVER a point in the book where I thought it was tedious and slow going....it kept my attention all the way through. It is a spinoff of the authors Thorne Witches series but you can still read it without knowing anything about the Thorne's...but trust me it will make you want to read about the Thorne Witches. Which I will start in the new year. There is quite a bit of action going on in this book which made it exciting and the romance made it hawt! Not to mention the 250 year old curse on the O'Malley Witches/Warlocks
That characters are absolutely the best. I loved Cian O'Malley but I'm a sucker for the Irish brogue. Cian is so charming and funny....I found myself laughing quite a bit and my heart swooning when he talked to Piper. There is so much sexual tension between Piper and Cian that Piper fights her emotions. Then there is little Aeden he nearly broke my heart! I have been pulled into this series and I don't want to leave....I didn't want to see this book end. But alas books do end and I can see myself reading this over again that is how good it is!
Highly recommend!
Thank you to T. M. Cromer for allowing me to read an advanced digital copy of her book! The opinions in this review are all mine...it was a pleasure to read this book and I can't wait for the next one.
As with all of the witchy books by TM Cromer, this one did not disappoint. Her writing keeps you turning the pages and she throws curve balls at you just when you think you have things figured out. This story is the first in the Unlucky Charms and takes place in Ireland. Her characters Piper and Cian will win your heart, but the bumps and turns they deal with will make you cheer for them. I love the magick, the grimoires, and the other paranormal characters in the story.
Be sure to get all the books in the Thorne Witches and Unlucky Charms!
Cromer will always be one of my fave authors because she is a Queen at writing strong and fiesty women and strong men that stand beside them
This book is no exception to that rule.
I love the way she weaves the story and brings some twists and turns and sets you up for the next book. Giving us some hints and foresight into the next character focus and story.
There is humour that will make you cackle and profound moments that will wet your eyes.
Honestly if you have not read this or any of her work, please go check it out. Especially if you like magic, adventure and family!
Piper and Cian. Ah an Irish holiday, exploring and maybe a holiday romance for Piper!!! But don’t forget Piper has sworn off men. Cian O’Malley is an unlucky man from an unlucky family, he also has a frozen heart… Piper might unfreeze Cian heart and Cian might break Pipers in return!!! They both might be constantly dodging whoever is trying to kill them. A wonderful Irish adventure
Oh my Goddess I love this spin off of the Thorne witches. So much humour and intrigue. I really can’t wait for the next one. So glad I’ve already pre-booked the next two. Thank you Tara you always create characters that are so easy to fall in love with.
Totally hits the right notes if you are a sucker for Irish stereotypes, and the writing is a bit witty, though completely unsophisticated. A fun "beach read" type book.
OMG! What a beginning to a new series! I am so very excited to get to know the new family! Love Cian and Piper! Can't wait to see what's in store for them.
This is a great start to another series. I was said when the first series ended, but the Thorne's are back! Lots of twists and turns and the ending makes you wonder what really happened in the past.
I am so excited for this series, seeing some of the family from the Thorne Witches, which I also highly reccomend if you haven't found it yet! Can not wait for the next book!!!
I enjoyed the book very much. I laughed at the silliness, teared up at the sadness and loved the romance. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
Very entertaining story. I loved the whimsy of the setting and the idea of the B&B. Seemed like much more detail could go into their story, but I suppose this is just the first book!)
