I received an ARC of this book from the author, Sarah Miller, via Bookfunnel and this is my voluntary and honest review. I highly recommend this heartwarming Amish love story between Abigail and Jonah. Their love is tested when Jonah goes on his rumspringa and stays longer than most young people do. When Abigail's father arranges her marriage to another man, she takes matters into her own hands to avoid a loveless marriage. What does she do, and does Jonah return in time? You will have to read the book to find out.
I really enjoyed this book! Even though her parents arranged another marriage for her when the boy she loved never contacted her or returned after he left for his Rumspringer over a year ago,she HAD to see him just one more time before she married a man she didn't love! But would the lies that brought him home ruin any chance of of future for them when she finds out that he still loves her TOO?!
This story pulled at my heartstrings. Anyone who has been in love and lost will remember the heartache that Abigail was going through. Would you do the same thing she did to find out why your love didn't come back to you? There is so many examples and wisdom in this story that could benefit anyone. I recommend this book to anyone who is over 14. But especially to those in the teenage group who will be entering the romance stage of their life's.
What happens when you spend extra time on your rumspringa? Will you be allowed back in the community or will you be shunned? Will the person you loved still be waiting for you to return? What could bring back the person you love? Maybe a little white lie? How does that affect what the future will be? Nicely done.
When Abigail's father set up the engagement and with Samuel's actions at supper, she felt she no other way to get Jonah back home was to tell the lie her and Beth told. This is a story of regret and happy endings. A wonderful book for everyone.
Jonah went on his Rumpspringa and hadn't returned. Abigail finally figured out a way to bring him home. But would it work? This story has several unexpected twists. It was very enjoyable and I recommend it.
I really enjoyed this very sweet and clean love story. I enjoyed the story line and cast of characters very much. I would definitely read it again and I recommend it to anyone.
