They saved my life.
Now they will share my body.

I was caught in a hunter’s snare. Trapped like a wounded animal.

Then the Alphas came.

Three dominant beasts. They used to be men, but now they are so much more than that. They saved my life, but can they save me from my own all-consuming need?

Ever since the Cataclysm, my body has been mutating. I’m an Omega now.

Soon my body will go into estrus, filling the air with pheromones. My need will be impossible to conceal. The savage Alphas will be unable to resist.

They will claim me. They will dominate me. They will share my body in the most sinful ways imaginable.

And the most shameful part of all? I’ll beg them for more.

Lizzy Bequin’s Wounded Omega has been in my library for a while now after i signed up for her newsletter.
I don’t know why i didn’t get to it before,but i’m very glad i did now!
Because it may be short, but the world build is good, and the dynamic between the h and H’s is great.

Whitney had the bad luck of being stuck with her stepfather when the Cataclysm happened.
And while she didn’t really like him before,he now terrifies her.
So,when he snaps and wants to f**k her,she kicks him in the vulnerable parts and runs.
Only to get caught in a huntingtrap…..
Where Aidan finds her, freezing to death, her ankle still in the trap.
He takes her home, and cares for her with his friends,Luke and Dwayne.
When she finally wakes up,they explain the Cataclysm to her and briefly tell her what that meant for them.
But what did it mean for her?
What did it make her,and what are those strange urges she keeps having?

A great start to the series, and i’m going to try and find more.
Because i enjoyed this one, very much!

This is the Novella Prequel of this series... Keep in mind that the series books 1-5 is taking place 100 years after the Cataclysm has happened.. This Prequel however, is set just 6 months after the Cataclysm..

Very quick read, but interesting. And a little scary.. I really liked all the MCs here.. Whitney(Our Omega), and her Alphas, Luke, Aiden, and Dewayne. (Dewayne is my favorite Alpha 🥵).. And I loved how this brief intro explains what came about that led to the world we see now, 100 years later in books 1-5..

I was not aware this Prequel was available. So I've actually already read books 1-3 first. Now I'm moving forward with books 4 and 5.

This Prequel is only available and is free, via the Author's website if you sign up for Lizzy's newsletter.

Read this series! It's awesome 🤩

Prequel novella to the Quarantine series

If you’ve read Ms Bequin’s Quarantine series, you’ll really like this short, quick read. Whitney is a young, sheltered woman. Her father died when she was young, and her mother found herself attached to a poor excuse of a man. Her mother abandons her, so she’s stuck with a cruel stepfather. Unfortunately, the cataclysmic event happens and they are surviving in a bunker he has been stocking for an occasion such as this. Unfortunately, both of their bodies are changing, due to recent events, but Whitney has no idea what is going on. And she’s pretty sure, she doesn’t want to stick around with Melvin to find out.

Whitney is an interesting character. A sheltered virgin with these urges that are so strong she feels like she’s going to die. Through fate, she is taken in by three Alphas; Aiden, Luke and Dwayne. Each with a briefly explained backstory of how they survived the cataclysm and how they came to be a “pack.” Of course, with a novella length book, one wouldn’t expect a huge amount of character, or even world building for that matter. However, since I’ve already read the Quarantine series, it was pretty easy to fill in some gaps. But Ms. Bequin’s writing is so well done that even if you haven’t already read the series, you still get a pretty good feel for the environment, the storyline and the characters.

This was a pretty quick read, and lays the foundation for the Quarantine series. If you haven’t read the series, and you’re a fan of the Omegaverse genre, I think you’ll like it. I would recommend that you start with this novella and then begin the series. The series takes place approximately 100 years after the events in this book. If you have never read an omegaverse book, this might be a good way to start. It’s not as graphic as the rest of the series, so you can decide if you want to continue.

Wounded Omega – Lizzy Bequin (Origin Story)
This was a very fast, very hot burn RH.
Post apocalyptic/quarantine type world. Expect complete domination of the Omega, Whitney as she struggles to find her place within her Harem of Alphas - Luke, Aidan and Dwayne.
The world building was excellent despite the fast pace of this story. The plot was well rounded to launch this origin story into a series. I loved it!
Trigger warnings for total power exchange and explicit sex scenes. Four stars.

providing an honest review after receiving a complementary copy from the author via BookFunnel.

I'm usually not the biggest fan of these omega style books but this was the best one I have read.

although there seemed to no choice in the partners or decision to have sex or group sex in this case there did seem to be some feelings between the parties.

the crazy religious step dad was a new twist.

This was pure spice all the way. I haven't read the series this is a prequel to and it doesn't have a lot of plot but I think it's a fun spicy short story.

This is for everyone that signs up for her newsletter....so go....sign up....get something spicy!

Why I read this omegaverse books since I hate Alphas? No, non all of the Alphas. I don't hate Luke. I love him. I loved him since his first appearance in the book when he saved Whitney from the animal trap. I was so happy to have an Alpha so close in age to the heroine. He is young, strong, kind, cute and he is a hero. He saved Whitney at the beginning and in the end of a book. I love him. I don't love Aidan. He is 42 ages old and Whitney is just 18. He can be her father but he is never concerned about how young is she. Dwayne make me sick. He don't care about Whitney he just care to empty his bals. He is a bulky monster but he is useless. When there are some problem Luke and Aidan go to resolve it. Dwayne stay with Whitney and use her but when is his turn to protect her he miserably failed. And poor, poor Whitney she is just 18 but from the start of the book we know that she will be pregnant. And at the end of the book she is. Pregnant at 18 is terrible. And with her Alphas she will be pregnant all the time and will have children while she is a little more than a child herself. No one deserves something like that. This story make me really sad. I will not read any other story of this serie and no other book of this author.

Catastrophic events have created a new breed of creature - the Alpha. He needs an omega to satisfy his sexual urges and the omega literally needs the Alpha to help her through estrus - a breeding heat that consists of excruciating pain that can last for days and sometimes weeks depending on the breed involved.
This little omega is wounded - caught in a trap and rescued by several bulky Alphas. She knows what's coming - she is already starting to mutate into something different. She is resigned t her fate, but how will her huge alien alphas relate to her?
Lizzy Bequin always produces an amazing book and I drool at the mouth knowing another one is in my E-reader ready to read.
Highly recommended - this author is at the very top of my favorite authors list.

An awesome, hot and steamy read! A fascinating look at the origin story of the Quarantine Omega series set 100 years before the first book. I really liked the personalities of each of the alphas, especially Dwayne, wondering if maybe he was the source of the piercing custom they developed. I loved it and would love to read more based on the early alphas/omegas of the zone.

2023 reads, #9. (I'm now reading romance novels and women's erotica on a regular basis, in order to better help my freelance clients who write in the same genres. Check out my "romance" tag to see all my reviews.) It was only yesterday that I was raving about Lizzy Bequin's Their Human Vessel, an outrageous dark sci-fi tale in "fated mates" territory, or "reverse harems" or "why choose" or "imprinting" or "compelled to breed" or any of the other subgenres that basically all celebrate the more animal side of sexuality, and especially the what-if concept of human women developing legitimate estrus, which is the scientific term for "going into heat." It was while checking out Bequin's website and signing up for her newsletter that I learned that I could get a free "lead magnet" title from her within what's called the "omegaverse" subgenre of romance and women's erotica, which I've had a particular interest in since having it be the very first romance manuscript ever offered to me as a freelancer, something like nine months ago now. Part of its appeal is that there is no one uncontested understanding of what it is; but in general you can say that most people agree that such stories take place in some kind of reality or another where elaborate and complicated sexual rules exist regarding who gets to have sex with whom and under what circumstances (think Jon Norman's "The Chronicles of Gor," for example, which back in the 1970s set the model for how a lot of this stuff is thought of) and that there exists the alphas of this world (the sexually dominant ones who control all the breeding and pairing that take place), and the betas (who...um, don't). In fact, it's how the omegas fit into all of this that makes it so complicated, because sometimes the omega exists to fit traditional gender roles, and sometimes it can take on a radical queer identity and goals; sometimes it serves more a romantic purpose in a book, and sometimes more explicitly sexual.

Bequin's Wounded Omega, though, gives a biological explanation for each designation -- the "betas" are the pale, zombie-like creatures that the majority of the human race turned into after an "unexplained airborne environmental event" called the Cataclysm; "alphas" are the small minority who "evolved" into better physical bodies (tougher, bigger, faster) and accompanying elevated sexual drive; and "omegas" are the 1% of women who evolved in order to breed with them, by having this ability to achieve estrus, which is treated as a sort of Star Trekian "pon farr" in that getting the urge for dick but then not getting dick can literally make a woman sick or even suffer from toxic shock in their universe. That's fine, I suppose, but when it comes to one of the main pleasures people get from this genre, of watching betas get cuckolded by their natural alpha masters, it's a whole lot less fun when the betas are chalky-pale zombies who don't even understand in the first place that only the alphas are getting all the trim, much less care. Ultimately, Bequin is just positing the same concept that drove my previous read of hers, the sci-fi Their Human Vessel, this idea that exposure to space alien DNA or spores or cum or whatever will turn humans into "the next stage of evolution," which happens to have a much more animalistic sense of sexuality and an unapologetically positive attitude towards "taking what you want." And that's perhaps a better way to see this, as a sister tale in her shared "Bequin Literary Universe" where the events and races of Their Human Vessel take place too, because it doesn't really work as an omegaverse tale as I understand the subgenre to me, but is like a smaller, tamer, less logically sound version of her exquisitely batshit previous novel about eight-foot-tall blue-skinned space aliens with literal horse-sized cocks. I have more traditional omegaverse reads coming later this winter, though, so keep your eyes out for that!

More from the random freebie shelf:

I was an Omegaverse virgin until now. The long story short, something catastrophic happened and people either turned into zombies or alphas and omegas. Alphas are big and strong and need to have sex with omegas. During heat, Omegas experience extreme sexual tension and suffer unless they get to have sex with alphas. The omega heroine was being kept captive by her mad stepfather but luckily she was able to escape and found three alphas to breed her.

Gotta say I am a little uncomfortable with the idea of the alphas and omegas since it seems to reduce people into needy appendages and orifices and take away most of the choice factor in their sex life. I prefer my steamy scenes gloriously consensual. But apart from that this was quite readable and it's fantasy after all.

Another Omegaverse book by Lizzy Bequin! I read this after reading the first in the series via Lizzy's Newsletter, and it was short and sweet, and fun to see how it all began, and how they figured it out, without the aspect of the Source involved. Lots of fun, and if she decided to add more prequels, I would not say no!

Whitney is trapped in a bunker with her strict and crazy stepfather after the huge Cataclysm event. It has changed her, and everyone in the area. Most people became like zombies, dead to the world. Yet a few became Alphas with great strength and protective natures, and even fewer became Omegas. Whitney escapes her stepfather and is taken in by a pack after she's found in an animal trap. They treat her well, but their new natures draw them together in heated ways. Yet her stepfather won't stop until he's found her and steals her away from her newfound happiness.

This is a fast-paced and steamy novella based in the Quarantine Omega series. Whitney is young and naive and stuck in a rough situation. Her new pack rallies around her, and oh the spiciness! It's a short and quick read with all the Omegaverse tropes.

Not the best but also not the worst story! This follows a young woman whose father died and her mother found herself tangled up with a “man” who is abusing her and keeping her sheltered from the world. The woman ends up being rescued by an alpha male and taken in by him and two other alphas. The story leading up to the rescue was pretty interesting. It definitely kept me interested but after that I found there were definitely some plot holes. I get that it’s a prequel but I don’t think I’ll continue reading the series. It was a fun quick read but not sure if it’ll be worth reading the rest.
The spice was great! I do love reverse harem and that was done really well. Maybe the rest of the series will dive into more detail…

I've read a few of this Alpha/ Omega genre and have been a bit confused over the whole labelling of the hierarchy of characters but I found this book, "Wounded Omega" provided me with a very clear concept of this genre, and the overall relationship between the two.
Its still very much the Alpha male and the submissive female dominion but just throw in two more brooding sexy males and a truly sexually frustrated young female and you've got a winning formula.
Good characters with a mix of good and bad to provide enough interest for the reader and enough storyline plot to keep me wanting to finish reading in one sitting.

This takes place after the great cataclysm. Where most people are turned into mindless zombie creatures, not the Living Dead type though! Then there are Alphas which bodies mutate to faster, stronger beings and then there are the Omega' s. Females who go into heat.Driving the Alpha into rut.So when there's are three Alphas and one poor tiny omega things can only heat up.🌡🌡🌡
This book is exceptional as in this is staged in a whole different setting.
I love shifter, werewolf books and although there were similarities,it was those things that made it easier to set into this Reverse harem story.

It’s exactly what you think you’re getting from a post apocalyptic omegaverse. A literary masterpiece it wasn’t, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

OV. MMMF. Hurt/comfort. Wounded omega. Purring. Growling. Protecting. Animal instincts. Heat. Nesting. Breeding. DP. Anal. Gangbang. Pregnancy.

Aiden. Older. Short born hair flecked with grey. Green eyes.

Luke. Younger. Found Whitney. Handsome. Dark hair and blue eyes.

Dwayne. MASSIVE. Scarred. Former mafia. Inmate. Tattooed. Beard. Piercings. Dark eyes. Heavy brow.

A teenager is essentially held prisoner by a righteous zealous step-father and when the cataclysm occurs he keeps her in an underground bunker. She continuous to get urges which she tries to keep from him knowing about. One day as he tries to assault her she escapes but it is wintertime and she has only her underwear, ripped blouse and skirt on, no footwear. In her escape her foot is caught in a steel animal trap. Rescued by a ripped young male near her age she collapses and her ankle is allowed to mostly heal. This is definitely a book for mature readers.

Excellent story. The concept of a Quarantine area because of a chemical leak is unique to me. How it changed the physic of the males and Whitney.
The background of all of the characters was well told. How they became who they were.
How Aiden, Luke and Dwayne became a team.
Action packed, mystery and of course steamy romance make this a great read.
They eventually get a rewarding HEA.
I would recommend this series.

This is a great prequel to the series, and I definitely wish it was longer!

It is an interesting take on the Omegaverse world here: betas are walking zombies, not the undead kind. Something has triggered the change in people within a certain radius, which is named the quarantine zone. Alphas, betas and omegas basically exist in a large gated community/city.

I will be checking out the series!

Nicely apocalyptic story - after the Cataclysm, Whitney runs away only to be caught in a trap; but Luke saves her and takes her home to meet Aiden, an older man, and Dwayne, an ex-killer.
And ooops... she's turning into an omega, and all these guys are (you guessed it!) Alphas.
Not bad for a short story :) (& also a freebie via the author's newsletter)

This book was great,
Good storyline would have liked alittle more especially around why the cataclysm happened but still good otherwise.
Some good spicy bits and alittle action.
Sexy alphas and their omega what more can you ask for.
Definitely recommended for a quick read

Lizzy Bequin gets it. She can write a smexy story that sets up the bones of a story while still setting the stage for further fun times. She doses the story with adventure and does all of it in the space of a novella. Keep the good stories coming, Lizzy!
